As part of U.A.'s curriculum Aizawa was forced to take out all his students out on a basic patrol to show them some of the ropes to being a hero.
Usually this would take place in the students second year, but since his current class of first years had all gotten there provisional liscence they'd be getting the lesson a little early.
At this point he had already taken out most of his students with him, somehow they all had managed to obtain minimal injuries.
So of course when he saw who he was supposed to be bringing with him tonight he almost decided to just give up on everything.
Izuku Midoriya his resident Problem child.
He just knew before the patrol even started that something would go wrong.
Something always went wrong with Midoriya, trouble someohow always found him.
Aizawa spent the whole day leading up to the last hour before patrolling stressing about the situation and doing his best to figure out how to deal with it.
And no taking every student but Midoriya on patrol was not an option, Nezu had said so earlier that morning when Aizawa asked, the answer was the same as the other fifty times Aizawa asked that question earlier that year.
So without any other choice Aizawa head out with Midoriya behind him.
The last hour before patrol Aizawa lectured Midoriya about the rules to follow, all the other students only had gotten a fifteen minute lecture at most but Aizawa really didn't care anymore.
The kid was clearly excited for the patrol- seemingly still in denial about being a trouble magnet.
Meanwhile Aizawa spent the whole time watching the kids every move.
In the end Aizawa couldn't technically fault the kid for anything. The pair of them had run into a couple of villains, one had taken off running down the alley.
Midoriya looked over at him with eager eyes, awaiting a quick approval. Aizawa hesitated for a brief second before nodding- he decided to reward the fact that Midoriya had actually asked before running off this time.
The kid took off down the alleyway without another look.
Aizawa quickly took out the one left behind, before taking off after his most troublesome student.
He was already regretting letting the kid run ahead as he turned the corner and didn't spot him.
He reached up to his earpiece- he had stated beforehand that he was not letting Midoriya go on patrol without one.
"Midoriya where are you?"
Silence.
"Kid?"
Still nothing.
"Midoriya can you here me?!" Aizawa practically shouted.
Of course Problem Childs earpiece somehow wasn't working leaving him without contact- he didn't want to think about how the earpiece being broken wasn't the only reason his student might be unavailable.
Aizawa tried to reassure himself that there was many reasons for why Midoriya couldn't answer- for all he knew with the kids luck the earpiece had been broken before they left the school.
Aizawa followed the path to the right growing more and more panicked as time went on.
Midoriya and the villain just weren't there. He tried to focus on breathing as he slowed down his pace.
Aizawa had two options, to keep moving forward and hope to find them or risk circling back and see if he missed anywhere the pair could have gone.
A big part of him just wanted to keep running around like a mad man but the rational side of him knew that he could have missed something important in his panicked state.
So besides the hesitation and risk Aizawa found himself going back the same way he had came.
As he circled back he noticed a narrow alleyway on the left and charged down it.
It was a very narrow path, that didn't have any exists except the end which was quite the distance away.
As he charged through the end he found himself entering a park.
He looked around and noticed how empty the place was. No one was near where he had entered form but yet he found himself walking further down the path.
The park was big enough that it was impossible for him to see everything from where he had originally entered.
The sound of someone sobbing filled his ears as he got closer to a play structure. Panic filled him once more as he started to race towards the sound.
The cries sounded scared and filled with pain.
If he was thinking rationally he would have realized the voice was way too young to belong to his student.
It wasn't until he entered the play structure and heard a scream did he see that it wasn't his student crying inside the tunnel but a young boy.
It took Aizawa to realize that although the sobs didn't belong to his student, that his student was in fact there.
The number one cause of Aizawas grey hair himself, was holding the kid rubbing the small back with circles.
"It's alright… it's just my teacher- remember I told you about him. Yeah… he's a pro hero and will help out… sorry he scared you." Midoriya's whispered to the boy.
"S-S-sorry!" The young boy said.
Aizawa sighed as he started to make sense of the sight in front of him.
"Don't worry about it kid. As for you Midoriya, why didn't you answer through the earpiece?"
At that both Midoriya and the crying boy looked sheepish. Midoriya reached into his pocket and pulled out a familiar object that looked to have been slightly warped.
"I-i-it's my quirk, sir... Sorry..."
Aizawa let out a huff as he collected the damaged peice from his student.
"What are you doing out so late kid? Where's your parents?" Aizawa asked feeling a headache emerge.
The boy looked down, ashamed at the question.
"I'm sorry... My house is over there." The boy said pointing over to a small house across the street.
"I'm not supposed to be out... but I had stolen my dads binoculars to play at the park today, and I didn't realize until I was already in bed that I left them here... The parks so close so I thought I could sneak out and grab them without anyone noticing what I had done- my dad hasn't noticed that I had taken them yet, but I know he's planning on using them tommorow so I had to return them tonight..."
The headache from before started to grow as he realized the conversation with the parents would no doubt last even longer now that he knew that the boy was supposedly supposed to be tucked away in his bed asleep.
"W-when I was about to head back with them, the villain and Deku ran through... Deku took him out right away but I was so scared and I didn't realize he was a hero... I accidentally used my quirk and damaged his stuff... I'm sorry!" The young boy said with a slight bow.
"It's alright! Don't worry about it! Let's get you home safe, all right?" Midoriya said with a friendly smile.
The small child nodded following the hero's to the safety of his home.
In the end Aizawa was right, the parents had freaked out at seeing their son with to strangers when they opened the door in the middle of the night and the proceeding conversation was too long in his professional opinion.
At the end of the night Aizawa returned to his appartment on campus with a pestering headache and wishing that he had an excuse to give his problem child detention- he wouldn't admit it to anyone but in reality he was just relieved that Midoriya had been all right in the end.
