Hi Readers: Hope you guys liked the last chapter and are enjoying the pace at which I am writing this story; while also enjoying the amount of detail I am making sure to include whenever I can. And right now, that's precisely what I hope to do; I hope to add more details to the story, as that's what you guys want me to do. You guys want me to explore more of the topics which I originally brought up in the original story, but failed to do so as it didn't seem important enough to bring up. But now, as I go back and re-read this story, I'm realizing that maybe some of those details were important to bring up. So, that's precisely what I'm going to do. Enjoy.

Chapter Twenty-Three
The Basics…and the Betrayal

The beer which Matt and Kelly just shared was just a pretext for what Matt and Kelly really wanted to do today, which was to start working on the company; well, now they want to start working on the company due to the fact that both he and Stella just agreed to join as (unofficial) co-founders of the company. Officially, the co-founders of the company will be Matt & Gabby as they are the ones who are providing the funds to create the company and try and do some of the things they want to do; like things to do with firefighters, as well as the project that Gabby and Stella want to do. They were still trying to figure that out, so it may take time for them to get up and running in that division. However, Matt and Kelly still had to figure out just what exactly what they were going to do; while also starting with the most basics of tasks, which would be registering the company. But right now, they're just being two curious dudes who've decided to look for something they can use at the company. And just what might that be? A former firehouse.

And yes, you heard that right. They're looking for a former firehouse which Matt can buy for the sake of the project that he and Kelly are starting under the title 'Casey Fire Training'. He has no idea yet whether that's going to be the final name of the company, but he can just use it for now as that's what they're going to be doing in this venture of theirs; they're going to do fire training, where some people are going to learn from two of the best people in the business (in their opinion). They're going to learn from a former CFD Captain, as well as a former CFD Lieutenant, who just so happens to also be the son of the legendary arson investigator Mr. Benny Severide, who wrote the manual for being an arson investigator (which is a tool that they plan on using since Kelly has the rights to the book). And damn does that make their job easier when it comes to creating courses, which they're going to do for the program. I mean, it's not like they have a choice in the matter. They need to create courses that they can teach, just like they need a place.

They need a place to teach the courses they want to create, just as much as they need the courses themselves; and that's precisely why he and Kelly are currently trying to find a former firehouse, as they want to transform it into a training facility which they'll run. However, they aren't having any luck with that quest right now. "You find any?" Turning his head to look at his best friend from the other couch in his living room, Kelly shook his head as he laughed a bit. "Dude, did you really expect there just to be a random former house available for purchase?" Matt sighed. "Hey, wishful thinking." Matt agreed with his best friend when he said that, well aware that he was hoping that there was one out there for them to buy; but it turned out that there just wasn't one, Matt just hoped that it was a good idea rather than a waste of time. "Did you at least like the idea? Or did you think it was stupid?" Kelly smiled when Matt asked him that question. "Matt, it was a great idea; hell, I'm surprised that I haven't heard of a place that does that already."

Matt smirked when he heard Kelly say that, well aware that he's also a bit jealous that he was the one that came up with the idea; rather than have him come up with an idea to help him start the company. "Yeah, I bet you wished that you did. But seriously, I am really going to enjoy this. I'm going to like running a company with my best friend." Kelly agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling. "Hey, at least you're going to be using my money for good." Matt agreed with him, as that most certainly is the truth on many fronts. "I already knew that the moment I got the money, especially since Gabby told me that we're going to be donating to Puerto Rico until they've recovered from Hurricane Maria." Kelly agreed with Matt as he smiled at him. "I had a feeling that was going to be the case, because your wife up there has you wrapped around her finger." Matt just snickered when he said that. "It's called marriage buddy. And it's also called: 'your pregnant wife is always right, if you want a chance at getting sex during her pregnancy'" Kelly snickered.

Meanwhile, Gabby yelled down after hearing what Matt said from upstairs. "AIN'T THAT RIGHT BABY!" Matt just shook his head, before yelling back. "OH, JUST CONCENTRATE ON YOUR DESIGNS!" Gabby laughed when she heard Matt say that, while also coming out into the living room. "I will, right after I finish grabbing some water from the kitchen." Turning his head, Matt smiled when he saw Gabby there. After which, he moved his laptop to the side as he wanted to get up. "I had a feeling that was going to happen." Looking at his best friend, Matt gave him the middle finger as he didn't want to hear anything about him wanting to kiss his wife. "Hey, so are you guys okay up there?" Turning her head to look at her husband as he walked into the kitchen, Gabby agreed as things were upstairs. "Of course, they are, why wouldn't they be? Me and our little girl are fine babe." Matt agreed with his wife, smiling as he turned his head and looked at Kelly to make sure that he was distracted; after which, he walked up behind Gabby at the sink.

Wrapping his arms around her, Matt placed his hands on her legs as he held her close; after which, he proceeded to whisper in her ear. "I'm not talking about our little girl; I'm talking about you and your mental health. Are you getting any memories from that time that are causing you problems?" Realizing now what Matt was talking about, Gabby turned around and set her water bottle down; while also placing her hands on his chest, which led to Matt placing his hands on her arms as they both held each other close. A feeling which Gabby enjoyed as she wrapped her arms around his back and just held him close, while Matt placed his hand on the side of Gabby's face and stroked her cheek; while also whispering to her: "Gabby, I want you to promise me that you're going to tell me if you get memories from that time. Hard memories that you need me for. Please, don't go through it alone; it's my job as your husband to help you through those bad memories." Gabby agreed with her husband, nodding as she smiled at the man of her dreams.

After which, Matt leaned in and kissed her softly, which prompted Kelly to yell out. "SERIOUSLY!" Turning to face his best friend, Matt glared at him. "Take it easy. We just talked about something serious. Something I really needed to talk to Gabby about, to make sure that bad memories weren't coming up." Kelly then realized what Matt was talking about, so he just nodded as he knew that was important to Matt; it was important to him that he made sure that Gabby was okay, just like Gabby wanted to make sure that he and Stella are okay. "For what it's worth Kelly, I hate that this happened to you guys." Kelly agreed with Gabby. "Thanks Gabby." Gabby smiled as she wrapped her arms around Matt even more. "And I'm glad that you guys are going to stay here in Hawaii, since it means that I'm going to have Stella by my side as I start the clothing line." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before pressing his lips to her forehead. "Make sure you tell me when you and Stella pick out a name for your company, I can register it." Gabby agreed.

After which, she looked up at Matt. "Are we going to do a joint company?" Matt through about it and nodded. "I think it'd be easier money wise, because then we don't need to have two accounts to share the money we have." Confused, Kelly looked at his best friend and his wife. "Uhm, not sure what you're talking about here." Turning his head as he placed his hand on Gabby's arm, Matt smirked. "All you need to know is that you're going to work for our company, you let me and Gabby concentrate on how we structure it." Kelly agreed with Matt, as that's precisely what he can do for him; just like Matt can concentrate on doing the documents for his wife, while she concentrates on designing. "I hope you know how much it means to me that you're doing all the paperwork." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Hey, I know that Gabby. It has to be this way right now anyways." Gabby was confused as she looked up at Matt. "And why does it HAVE to be this way for now?" Placing his hands on Gabby's hips, Matt smiled. "Paperwork is stressful." Gabby agreed.

After all, she now understood just why she isn't doing the paperwork now; it's for the sake of the baby, as he doesn't want her to have to deal with the stress. "Yeah, then I can concentrate on the designs that I want to make." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling at her as he placed his hand on the side of her face, while also leaning in and kissing her softly. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with her husband as he told her that he loves her, as she loves him too. "I love you too. However, I am not letting you teach at that fire academy. I am not letting you put your life at risk anymore, especially not when we're going to have a big family. Promise me you're going to be safe for the rest of your life, right baby?" Matt agreed with his wife, as that most certainly is precisely what he's going to promise her. "Hey, of course I promise that Gabby. I promise that I'm going to be safe, and here with you forever. This is our life, and I want to share it with you, which means that I need to be safe." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling as he told her that.

After which, Matt placed his hand on the side of her neck again prior to bending down and kissing the love of his life; the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you and I am more than ready to make you food if you're hungry, just tell me or text me." Gabby agreed with her husband as he said that. "I promise, I'll do just that." Matt agreed with Gabby, before kissing his beautiful wife one last time; ahead of him letting her go, so that he can make his way back to the living room to spend time with Kelly. That was, until he saw Stella. "Stella." Looking at Matt, Stella smiled. "Hey Matt." Taking a breath, Matt just walked over to her. "I'm so sorry. I know how hard it is to loose a baby." Stella agreed with Matt as they both proceeded to share a hug. "Thanks Matt." She then whispered to him. "Have you talked to Kelly? Is he still mad at me?" Matt shook his head. "I think he understands now." Stella agreed with Matt as he said that, while Kelly got up to tell Stella exactly that. "I promise, I understand now Stella; and I'm really sorry."

Stella agreed with her boyfriend as he said that, smiling as she made her way over to him and hugged him; while Kelly wrapped his arms around her and held her close. At the same time, Matt wrapped his arm around Gabby and just smiled as he turned his head and pressed his lips to her forehead. "They're cute." Gabby laughed, smiling as she felt the same way; while also feeling their little girl move, which led to get grabbing Matt's hand and placing it on her stomach. Feeling their little girl move, Matt smiled as he looked at his wife. "God, I love that feeling so much." Gabby smiled, agreeing with Matt as she cuddled up to him, while Kelly wrapped his arms around Stella. "I can't wait to see what my goddaughter is going to look like." Gabby laughed. "Yeah, you're in line after my brother. So, unless he screws up…you aren't going to be the godfather to this little one. God, I can't wait to meet her. Oh, have you told Kelly the name yet?" Stella smiled, as it was adorable. "No, I haven't." Kelly just looked at his best friend. "What is it?"

Matt smiled. "Bella Grace Casey." Kelly and Stella both smiled when they heard the name of their best friends' future daughter, as they loved them both. "I think that name is adorable Gabby, you come up with it?" Gabby shook her head. "I just came up with the middle name, Matt came up with Bella." Matt agreed with Gabby, smiling as he kissed the side of her head. "I can't wait to ask my sister this Christmas to be a godmother." Stella was shocked. "Wait, who are the godparents? Aren't we them?" Kelly agreed with Stella. "Yeah, I've been waiting for over a decade!" Matt sighed. "We have siblings first. So, we're going to ask Christie and Antonio to be godparents." That was when Matt and Gabby heard a voice walk into their home that surprised them. "And the answer to that would be yes, of course I'm going to be my niece or nephew's godfather!" Turning to see her brother, Gabby smiled as she let Matt go and made her way over to Antonio so that she could say hi to him this morning; very surprised that he was here.

Gabby's POV:
As I made my way over to Antonio, I smiled due to the fact that I was so happy to see him; happy that he was finally here in Hawaii, so that he can help me take care of mom. I mean, I want to relax while I'm pregnant. "Antonio? I'm so shocked that you came early." Antonio agreed with me when I said that. "What are you doing here?" Smiling as he walked up to me, Antonio wrapped his arms around me as he hugged me. "I thought you were going to come tomorrow." Antonio smiled. "I was, but I was missing my baby sister. Plus, I was getting into a bunch of close calls with Voight. He's been bugging me to rejoin the CPD. And now that I'm on vacation, it seems like I can't avoid him." Smiling, I agreed with Antonio and hugged him; while he looked over my shoulder to see our friends, while I heard some footsteps behind me. More specifically, Stella's footsteps. "Hi Antonio." Letting my brother go, I smiled as I went to let Stella say hi; though, when I looked at Toni I saw that he was nervous. "Hi Stella, what are you guys doing here?"

Stella looked at my brother as he asked him that question. "We're here for Christmas, unlike you." Antonio laughed. "I'm here for Christmas, what are you talking about Stella?" However, I just heard that voice. That voice that only comes out when he lies. "No, Antonio. Did you relapse again? Which one was it? Drugs or alcohol?" Stella then made her way over to me and just looked at Antonio. "Either you tell her the truth about which addiction it was, or else I do." Turning my head, I was confused when I heard Stella say that. "Tell me what?" I then turned to look at my brother, starting to get concerned. "Wait, are you okay? Were you shot?" Stella then spoke up again. "No, but he's going to wish he was; because then you'd have some sympathy for him after how he betrayed you." Turning my head, I just looked at Antonio as I just knew. I just knew exactly what he did and I didn't even need to hear the words, but I did. I needed to hear Antonio say them; I needed to hear him admit to what he did, so that I could know what type of brother he truly is.

Just looking at him, I stared into his eyes. "Antonio, I'm begging you. Can you please look into my eyes with a straight face and tell me the truth? Please, tell me that you didn't sleep with Sylvie." Taking a breath, Antonio looked down, which was all I needed to see to know what the truth was, the truth that he just told me. And what he told me was the worst thing that he could've ever told me.

"I slept with Sylvie on Friday night."

You could hear the slap from across the room, as Gabby slapped her brother across the face harder than she's ever slapped anybody before; but he deserved it for doing the one thing that hurt her the most: he slept with the woman who betrayed her, and who she specifically told him to stay away from. The woman she pleaded him to stay away from. And that's why she couldn't even stay in the room with him, as she couldn't bear the mere sight of him. And neither could Matt, but he had to be here so that he could talk to his brother-in-law about what he just heard. How he just confessed to sleeping with Sylvie on Friday night. "Kelly, Stella?" Turning their heads to look at Matt, they got nervous. "The room?" Kelly and Stella both agreed with Matt, before walking away so that he and can have room alone with Antonio. Meanwhile, Matt looked at Antonio with daggers. "Ok. Here are the rules. One, you are on my turf; this is my home, and you are not to say anything after me. You are not to hurt me, and you are not to make up lies." Antonio agreed.

After all, he deserves that. "So, it's true?" Antonio was about to answer, when he heard his mother come out. "Antonio? What are you doing here?" Smiling at his mom, Antonio walked over to her and went to hug her; while Camila looked at her son-in-law. "Matt, why didn't you tell me?" Matt sighed. "I thought you were sleeping, and I just learned he was here too." Camila shook her head. "No, I've been working on my Christmas deserts." She then turned to look at her son. "You stay away from the kitchen. I have two sets of cookies. One for your sister, and one for you and the family. I need to label those." Looking at his mother-in-law, Matt was a bit confused by what she meant. "What do you mean by one for Gabby?" Camila smiled. "More protein, less sugar; but it'll still taste the same." Matt smiled, agreeing with Camila when she said that. "Well, you don't have to make as much this year, because your son isn't staying here." Camila was confused. "Matt, you have room. Why can't he…" Matt then looked at Antonio, as he was mad.

After which, he told Camila. "Well, Camila, you remember that woman that Antonio tried to bring to Thanksgiving a couple weeks ago? The woman we told you about? The one who hurt Gabby, abused her, and was later fired because of what she did to her?" Camila agreed with her son-in-law. "I swear, if I knew that she was the same woman; I would've banned her from my home." Matt then turned to look at his brother-in-law. "How about first…you ban your son from having her IN HIS BED!" Camila stared in horror at her son. "Antonio, please tell me that Matt's got things all wrong and you didn't sleep with that horrible woman who abused your sister!" Antonio was quiet, as he didn't want to admit it. "You slept with the woman who hurt my daughter! Your sister! TONI!" Antonio then got worried, while Matt spoke to him. "Just be glad that I don't have security yet, or your ass would be on the ground." That's when Kelly walked in behind Matt. "What's this about you needing security?" Kelly then went to flex his muscles as he looked at Antonio.

Meanwhile, Matt turned around to look at his best friend. "Oh, perfect. Kelly, do you remember what Sylvie did to Gabby?" Kelly agreed, well aware of what Sylvie did. "I swear, she is such a bitch! I had some words with her about what she did to her and how she was even worse for trying to get with you after what she did to my sister!" Matt smirked. "And what would you do for your sister if you learned that her biological brother slept with said woman!" Kelly then turned to look at Antonio. "I would beat his sorry ass, regardless of whether he was a boxer or not." Smirking, Matt looked at Stella and Camila. "Stella, Camila…you may want to leave so that you can have deniability over this." Stella smirked when Matt said that, before looking at Camila. "Ms. Dawson, how about I help you with some more deserts in the kitchen?" Camila agreed with Stella, smiling as they walked away together. "Please, call me Camila. You're going to be seeing a lot of me." Stella agreed with Camila, smiling at her as they both walked away to the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Matt turned to look at Kelly. "You can do anything, as long as it doesn't cause internal damage or bleeding. Oh, and don't ruin my house! I just got it." Matt then walked up behind Antonio and grabbed his shirt, turning him around so that he was facing him. After which, he punched him right in the face as he was mad, which led Antonio to go and try to hit Matt too. However, he couldn't do it in time, as Matt pushed him towards Severide, who took him outside the moment he had him in his arms so that he could do what Matt asked him to do. Meanwhile, Matt turned to look at Camila in the kitchen. "Camila?" Looking at Matt, she already knew what he was going to tell her; and that was that he needed time with Gabby. "Can you give me and Gabby some privacy? I'm going to make sure that she's okay, and I'm not sure how." Stella just understood what he meant, as he was talking about sexually (maybe). "Go ahead Matt." Matt agreed with Stella as he turned to walk away, as he wanted to go be with Gabby. The woman he loves.

Stella's Thoughts:
As I watched Matt walk away to go take care of Gabby and give her comfort, I couldn't help but feel horrible for her; hell, I even feel better compared to what she's going through. I mean, sure; I miscarried me and Kelly's first child. But that's nothing compared to what her brother did to her. I mean, he slept with Sylvie; the woman who almost caused Gabby to loose everything she loves in life. Her husband and their life together, as well as her career. As much as I want to say that she's the same Gabby, I know that she was changed by her experience with Sylvie; and now, all those wounds must be reopened (hell, maybe even might be even deeper) now that her brother slept with her. I mean, that's just horrible. I can only imagine how Gabby would feel if Matt slept with her after that bad of a betrayal. But, for her own brother to have done that just makes me feel like that's even worse; because nothing compares to when blood betrays you. And that's precisely what Antonio did, he betrayed his sister who loves him more than anything.

And now, rather than be all happy as she takes it easy with me while we plan this new start for our company, she needs to try and concentrate on positive thoughts; while trying her best to not think about the fact that her brother betrayed her by sleeping with Sylvie. God, just the thought of my (non-existing) brother doing that to me (if I were in Gabby's shoes) makes me shutter. It makes me feel horrible, and I pray that Matt can make her feel better. And sure, I already know that he's probably going to do that sexually; but, I'd rather he do it sexually than not do it at all. This truly is a horrible day for the both of them, and they just need to take it easy with each other now. We can all work on the company together another day. Right now, Matt and Gabby both just need to concentrate on each other and feeling better after what Antonio did to Gabby. After he slept with her enemy, the woman who wanted to stela her husband away from her; not that she could ever do that, as Matt is madly in love with Gabby. I've seen that here first hand.

They are so adorable with each other, and I am so glad that they still have each other; especially now, since Gabby's really going to need her husband with her as they get through this time together. In fact, I am going to go suggest that we all leave them be for the rest of the day so that Gabby can feel better with Matt's help; and I'm positive that Camila and Kelly will both agreed that's precisely the right thing for us to do based on this situation. For us to just leave them be and let them take the time they need to just relax and take it easy with each other; not just for their sake, but for the sake of their child (who they want to meet more than anything in the entire world). And if they have it their way, that's precisely what they're going to do. They're going to meet their child, and they're going to raise her to be just as smart and adorable as her mother.
