Welcome back to Darkness is Alluring! This chapter was mostly to get a little bit more detail out before we get into the actual plot.
No One Pov:
Theo watched as the Ravenclaws continued to look around in a frantic panic. He could still see and feel Hadrien's angry magic. It felt like a soft and gentle touch to him, but he was sure it was like the sting of a thousand pins to the Ravenclaws. It wouldn't be long now before his best friend came from his hiding spot.
Ϟ
Hadrien finally came from around the corner and looked at the Ravenclaws while he continued to let his magic dance around.
"What do you think you guys are doing with another student? Especially one that you have restrained and pinned against a wall. I hope you weren't planning anything that goes against the school rules. It would be a shame if I had to give the lot of you the proper discipline for such vulgar activity."
Andrais' two lackeys began to shake in their boots as they gazed at the boy who is the literal icon for Wizarding Britain.
"W-we aren't doing anything that is against the school rules Mr. Harry Potter Sir." The first one said frantically mumbling his words.
"Y-yeah! We were just talking to this nice Slytherin here and-"
"Can you idiots shut up!" Of course, the loud and demanding voice of Andrais interrupted the answers of his two lackeys. "We were just about to teach this Death Eater scum a lesson. There aren't any rules against that."
Hadrien just shook his head and made a tsking sound. "Actually Andrais, you will find that there are several rules that go against anything and everything you are trying to do to another student. Even if there wasn't, the punishment for official Death Eaters, is up to the Ministry. Apart from that, one of my closest friends happens to be the Minister of Magic. So, do you really want to get on my bad side when I can send you straight to Azkaban just from your intentions alone?"
Andrais lost his bravado the moment Hadrien's last words left his mouth. There was no getting around a punishment if he stayed. "I-I guess you're right. We'll be taking our leave now."
Hadrien just raised his right eyebrow and smirked as he quickly identified all three of the perpetrators and saved the memories for later use.
"Good to hear. Now scram before I change my mind."
All three of the Ravenclaws were quick to leave after that. Though Andrais looked back for a moment to scowl at Hadrien and Theo.
Ϟ
Theo looked at his best friend gratefully. "Thank you for the help, Hades. They could've seriously hurt me if you weren't here."
Harry gave a small wobbly smile before he quickly grabbed Theo and wrapped his arms around the teen in a tight hug. Tremors coursed through his body as the fear for his secret beloved found their way to the surface. "I-I couldn't stand there and watch them treat you so cruelly. You almost lost your- and I almost didn't-"
An understanding looked passed over Theo's face, and he held his best friend with just as much force. "Don't worry Hadrien. I would never let them take away anything so precious. It's my fault that I forgot about my magic in the first place anyways."
Ϟ
After ten minutes of silent comfort, Hadrien pulled away and wiped his eyes. "We should head to the library. Draco is waiting for us there."
Theo simply smiled and began to walk with his friend. "So, moving onto something else. What's this I hear about you wanting to court someone? Draco was talking about it with Blaise in the common room the other night. Though he put up a silencing charm before I could hear anything more."
Hadrien's eyes widened before they quickly went back to normal. "It's nothing. I just asked Draco for advice and Blaise happened to overhear, so he wanted to help too. But it's supposed to be a surprise for the person. So, I can't afford for anyone else to know. I'm sorry."
Theo's lips formed into a disappointed frown. "I guess I understand that, but I'm disappointed that you can't tell me. How come you didn't come to me for advice? I'm your best friend."
The two teens stopped right outside of the library.
"You were busy studying for Arithmetics, and I didn't want to bother you."
Ϟ
Theo and Hadrien walked over to Draco as they entered the library. The blonde teen was sitting at their usual table in the very back. No one would bother them there since the corner was slightly hidden by some bookshelves that weren't double sided.
"Good, you're both here. Is everything alright now?" Draco asked with slight worry.
"It wasn't anything I couldn't handle. The group scrambled away when I threatened them with my connections with the minister." Hadrien grinned.
An exasperated look appeared on Theo's face. "Speaking of which, I thought we told you not to use your connections to get your way. It doesn't matter if it helps someone."
Hadrien's smile instantly went into a frown. "You aren't just anyone Theo. I will use my connections however I want if it means keeping you safe."
Draco watched the two converse and shook his head. It was always like this when the two disagreed.
"How about we put a pause on your conversation and head to the Slytherin dorms? I heard from some fellow Slytherins, that our dear muggleborn mole is sneaking around trying to gather information on you Hades. "
Hadrien sighed. "I swear, it's like she thinks she's my keeper. If I didn't have Ron and Neville to distract her, I would go insane. Dumbledore needs to figure out a smarter way to get to me. Although, it's convenient for us that he still uses Granger."
The group of three left the library and went through some hidden corridors that aren't common knowledge to the current students and staff. It was a total accident that they found it. Hogwarts certainly has a way of protecting her favorite magic users.
I hope you enjoyed the second chapter of this story! Apparently it was already posted on Ao3 and I forgot to cross-post to FanFiction. Sorry for the delay!
