So with the meeting adjourned Peter and his team prepared for their mission, with Peter, MJ and Sue making sure May and Valeria were taken care of by both Aunt May, Lois Lane, Felicia and her girls who gave Peter the news that they were now pregnant and told him to be sure to return. Some of the Spiders and Four like Miles, Gwen, Ben, Kevin Johnny, the Thing and Lyja would be staying back to defend New York. While other heroes joined the group, such as Tony in an improved suit that could work on a magic arc reactor if the Isles prevented his modern tech to work and wouldn't fail by an EMP. Also with the Hunter and She-Hulk, there was Doctor Strange, Wanda, Nightcralwer and a course the four Greek Warriors; Ororo, Pamela, Jean and Dinah.
All suited up for a fight, including Dinah who changed from her dress to something like a dark blue one piece armored swimsuit under a black leather jacket and her long bare legs were covered by fishnet pantyhose. Which drew many of the males eyes, along with Dinah's nearly exposed ass, as they all gathered at the portal alter where Magik was being told by Athena how to open a portal to the Golden Isles. "Alright everyone. I should be able to get you to the Isles." Magik said and Iron Man raised an eyebrow "Should?" To which Magik replied with "The place is a conduit of magic and it's difficult to find a spot to get through. But thanks to Athena guidance I should be able to get you there, though the ride might be a bit bumpier than normal." Hunter nodded at her girlfriend "We trust you, Illyana." With that said Magik opened the portal and the group stepped through.
Illyana wasn't kidding about the trip being bumpy, the bridge occasionally trembled as if there was a rolling earthquake running just beneath it. Along with the portal at the other end was fizzy and flickering like a half bad radio signal, so the heroes quickened their pace and reached the portal before it could possibly disappear. When he emerged from Limbo Peter found himself and the others standing on a sandy beach, around the water edge was the wreckage of a boat that might've been a Greek trireme. Further from the water in front of them was a flight of stone stairs model in the Ancient Greek fashion that ended at a cliff face.
"So, I guess we're here." Tony stated obviously and the others rolled their eyes, "We'll know for sure when we get off this beach." Hunter said and lead the way up the stairs, when they reached the cliff Sue used her power to create an invisible platform to carry the heroes that couldn't fly up. When they crested the cliff, they found themselves looking up at an enormous statue of the Greek God Hermes. "Wow, how long did that take to make?" Nightcrawler asked his wife "With magic of the gods, probably less time than you think." Wanda answered before Hunter spoke "Alright, Spider-Man. I want you to climb up that statue and get a layout of the land from up there."
Peter nodded "Be careful." MJ told him as Peter headed to the base of the statue and began climbing up the leg of the God. Reach the head Peter looked around with a whistle as he gazed at the sight before him. He saw that they were at one end of a fair size island, dotted with structures of Greek architecture that weren't in ruin. On the other side of island, beyond the small channel of water that separated them was a much larger island that seemed to have different bio fields. But focusing on the island they were on presently Peter spotted a building that looked like a temple of some kind, and recalling a Greek legend Peter assumed that the temple was a Temple of Apollo.
Climbing back down Peter rejoined the others to tell what he saw, "That would be a Temple of Apollo. It might have an Oracle who may be able to help us." Ororo said and the others agreed to head to the Temple. Though along the way they came under attack by a few of Typhon's forces that was roaming around nearby, which included a monster that looked like a snake haired snake monster. "A Gorgon." Pam said after the fight was over, the minions and monster disappearing into clouds of smoke. Soon they reached the temple and at the far end of the large room was grey haired old man dressed in dark robes, who looked up through his hood as the group approached. "Step forward. Into the light. The mysterious I have to offer are as infinite as the grains of sand scattered across the floor. What is your question?"
Taking the lead Ororo stepped forward to say formally "Oh wise Oracle. How do we stop Typhon and save the world?" Then was a moment of silence before the heroes were surprised when the Oracle said in a less authoritarian tone "Wow, that's a real… that's a real question. I don't know, it's a mystery." Surprise was shown on Ororo face, before she regained herself to say "Yes. That why we are asking you. The Oracle." To which the man replied "Oh yes! Well circling that… I'm just the priest. The Oracle here turned to stone. But the smoke here is… something else. Do you think sand is called sand because it's between the sea and land?"
Astonished by the man suddenly change in the conversation, the heroes frowned at the priest who just smiled back. "Ok…" Doctor Strange said hesitantly "I think we'll be going now." They turned to start walking away when the priest said "Oh! On your way out, can you pick me up something. I'm starvvving…" The heroes turned at the change of voice to see the priest rising into the air, his eyes glowing like orange suns and said in a deep commanding voice. "Heroes of York. Seek the answers across the land, in essence they lay beneath. Fight the wraths of old, and be rewarded so. To stop the Titan and Devil, only the champion of arachnid can do what must be done, a choice of a life or soul will be made and so to will the world fate."
With that said the priest was brought back to the ground and his eyes stopped glowing as he looked at the astonished expressions on everyone faces, "What?" He asked "Wow. Now that was a prophecy." Tony said "What was? Isn't it weird how prophecy ends with 'I see'? But in this case I don't?" The Priest said clearly unaware of what he just did, but before anyone else could say anything a new voice spoke "You tend to not in all the cases." From the smoke appeared a young man that Peter recognized from Olympus.
He was tall and lengthy, wearing a grey toga with tiny wings across the fabric. Across his back was a staff with a pair of living snakes entwining the rode to the set of wings at the top. It looked like the symbol of the hospital, it took Peter a second to remember it was called a Caduceus. This, plus the winged shoes and helmet, helped identify the man almost instantly, "Hermes?" Hunter asked and the man nodded "Glad you came, now come we must go quickly." He started to head to the door when Tony spoke "Wait aren't we going to talk about what just happened?" Hermes sighed heavily as he turned around "Look we don't have must time, he will be here soon. We need to get to the Observatory, once we're safe then we can talk okay?" When there wasn't any objection Hermes headed to the doors and the heroes followed him outside.
