Rin was honestly thankful for the moment of quiet. It felt like an eternity since she last had one. The delinquents weren't coming at the moment. Suzumi had scouted the area and made sure. They had either scared them away or just beaten everyone around them already. She hoped for the latter. Yes it would be nice if they were too scared to fight, but there was always that foolhardy individual with enough pull that would want to strike at them anyways. Just something they could brag later about. Defeating a strong opponent was always a chance for glory seekers.

Was she one of those now?

She idly wondered as she glanced up from the map she was looking at. They were inside of a random room. It must have been a business office of some kind. She didn't pay attention to which. It was poorly lit, just barely enough to see the other two people inside and the map where the only bright spot was.

Her servant. The ever 'charming' Napoleon Bonaparte. She still didn't know how to deal with him. He was definitely one of those glory seekers. She could tell by his demeanor. That smile. She'd have to watch out for the smile. It spoke of 'I'm so important. Pay attention to me'. That was never a good thing for anyone with a smidge of power. Now that he was her 'servant' and 'Sensei', he had power in spades. She hoped he truly was a good person. She'd have to put her trust in her friend over that matter.

The other person was Iroha. Gehenna had always been a problem child in terms of a school. Sure other schools caused issues but Gehenna was large and strong enough to be an eternal thorn in her peace of mind. Sometimes she sympathized with Trinity over it. Then she remembered Trinity's own issues and decided to keep her sympathy to herself. However, the Prefect Team had always been a boon for her. Loyal. Dependable. Strong and cunning. They cleaned the streets of Gehenna like no one's business.

She wasn't dealing with them. She was dealing with a member of the Pandemonium Society. The leading student body of Gehenna. Just thinking of that idiot of a president was headache inducing. Iroha was smarter, yes, but she didn't really do much to stop her headaches.

"So," Napoleon said, breaking her train of thought. "With your forces combined with ours, that brings us up to eighty four infantry units and five tanks. Is that correct?"

Iroha nodded, "Yes. I would have brought more but Makoto wanted to keep the rest in Gehenna around the Presidential Building. Just in case someone wanted to stage a coup or something like that."

"Understandable, but selfish." Napoleon said.

That was the first time anyone said 'Understandable' in relation to Makoto in Rin's memory. Oh this poor naive man. He was building the wrong image of that mad woman.

"Still," Napoleon continued, "This is more than enough to push forward. We'll keep the tanks in the rear to provide support for the infantry."

"Our doctrine is to strike hard and fast with our tanks," Iroha said firmly, "They should be the first ones to meet the enemy."

"That can work in some instances," Napoleon said, "However, this is a city. The tanks won't have the space to maneuver. Not to mention that an enemy can easily sneak around it through the buildings. No. The tanks will be our artillery."

Iroha looked to Rin, "Do you trust this man?"

"I do," Rin nodded. Her own reservations aside, that was a fact. "He is our Sensei and he has proven his worth."

"Well if you are our Sensei," Iroha said, "Then I'll take your word for it. I'll keep the tanks to our rear."

"Space them out as well," Napoleon said, "We'll keep the army groups close but with just enough space apart so they can work independently but not without risk of being cut off from each other."

"Are you sure you need to put as much thought into this strategy?" Iroha said, "They are just a bunch of lowly goons. We haven't had any issues fighting them off so far."

"Maybe I don't," Napoleon said before gesturing to the map, "But I didn't fight my way to the position of Emperor by blundering my way through 'weak' enemies. You never know when you might stumble and fall." He looked away briefly, "You might just not get back up if you do."

Rin couldn't help but frown at that. It definitely felt like he was talking about his own experience. What had happened in his own life? She still didn't exactly know all the specifics about servants. They were basically magical ghosts of another world. It sounded like a comic book. Yet here was one now and she had no way of knowing about his life. What did he regret? Would it come back to haunt him here? So many questions but it would be rude to ask them now.

"An Emperor?" Iroha raised an eyebrow, "There's definitely a story right there."

"Maybe I'll make a history class in the future," Napoleon said, "It should be enough to tie you all over. For now, let's hear what Rin has to say."

Rin rubbed her chin in thought before nodding, "I think we can work with it. Hopefully we should encounter other students who can help us. Valkyrie must have some units around this area as well. No doubt once we start pushing through, they'll come to our aid."

"That's the spirit," Napoleon said, "My Master truly is a commander at heart. Ah I can't wait to see how you grow in the future."

Rin blushed slightly and looked away, "I'm nothing special."

"That's a lie if I've ever heard one," Napoleon said. He turned to Iroha, "Make a note. If I ever do a class on strategy, Rin must be used as an example of exemplary leadership."

"SENSEI!" Rin shouted in embarrassment.

Napoleon's laughter just made her blush even harder then before. Truly being a master to such a sensei as him was the worst. Just the worst. No class like that would ever see the light of day on her watch.

It shouldn't have gone like this. They were supposed to be on the winning side. They had the numbers. They had the guns. They had even stole some tanks. That wasn't even mentioning Wakamo being on their side. Who would be insane to take on a force like that? You'd have to bring in the best of SRT to even put a dent in them. Truly, they should have been unstoppable.

So why were they being pushed back? Sukeban members were falling left and right. Chatter and screams could be heard on the radios. This was so stupid. They couldn't have even had a fraction of their numbers. Why were they being driven back? Today was their victory day! Not the GSC's.

In one area, a Gehenna tank rolled down the street. It fired a shell, destroying a mailbox a couple of Sukebans were using as cover. As well as knocking them out. A sukeban snarled as she looked to her comrade. She was holding a rocket launcher. She just needed to raise her head up and fire. Unfortunately the moment she tried that, a gehenna student used her long rifle to hit her right between the eyes.

The sukeban went down. Her fellow sukeban picked up the rocket launcher. She was obviously faster. She'd just need to move and get into position-

The tank fired again. The car was sent back, rolling over her. Her halo winked out as she fell into unconsciousness.

Another area had a similar problem. A sukeban tried to fire at two Valkyrie students moving to a different bit of cover. She was stopped when a gehenna Pandemonium student sniped her. It didn't knock her out but it certainly knocked her onto her butt. A pained groan escaped her lips as she stood back up to try and fire again. The Valkyrie students put her down with a concentrated burst.

The students here didn't face a tank, but the coordination between the two schools certainly put them on the back front. Training and skill was beating raw numbers. It pissed them off and they even tried to do a full on charge. They were answered with a few grenades that softened it up and a line of rifle bolts that knocked them off their feet. They cried out in fear and made their way back down the street.

Two tanks trudged down another highway. Bullets tinged off of them. A few RPGs only skimmed the surface due to low fire power and poor aim. They didn't exactly have the best time of lining up sights given to the fact that the combined might of Valkyrie and Pandemonium Society students were keeping their heads down.

Along the battle lines, the sukebans were being pushed back. Piece by piece the city was falling back into the hands of the side of order. Rin couldn't believe how quickly it was happening. Then again, 'Sensei' seemed like a man who knew his way around a battlefield. Even if she was his master, she was going to take his words for truth in future conflicts.

"Ha-ha, what a beautiful day for a battle." Napoleon grinned.

Napoleon was currently sitting on Iroha's own tank. So were the original four students they had come across. Rin and her pilot were in the back. She wondered if it was a smart idea to go without major support but he had told her that the line would be too thin. They were more then enough. She just had to trust him.

She inwardly sighed. It seemed she would. Perhaps she should have done so off the bat. He had proven to be a great Sensei. She'd follow him through this war torn city in a heartbeat, even if he still ticked her off. He had that sort of energy that you wanted to follow.

Iroha's tank fired a shell into the enemy line. Another car was blown up and the sukebans scattered. It seemed they hit a weak point in the line since there wasn't much resistance.

That's when a sniper bullet hit the tank an inch from Rin's head. She yelped and jumped off of the tank. More bullets followed from other parts of the building's windows. The other students jumped off of the tank in a hurry and sought cover. Napoleon calmly did so and then looked to Suzumi.

"How are you with heights?"

Suzumi gave him a small nod, "Never bothered me."

"Then here you go."

Napoleon grabbed her by the back of her shirt and stood up. With a mighty throw, he chucked her at the window. Rin wanted to yell at him for doing something so reckless with a student. Of course, Suzumi nailed the landing. She had rolled in the air and turned it into a perfect flying kick.

She burst through the window, smashing her foot right into the chest of a sukeban sniper. The other sukeban inside didn't have the time to react. By the time she processed it, her comrade had already hit the wall and Suzumi had rolled into a firing stance. She fired a burst into her opponent. The gang member went down. Suzumi swiftly turned around and put a few bullets into the head of the former student she had kicked. Thus she had knocked two unconscious. She went to clear the rest of the building.

"Are you sure she can handle herself alone?" Rin said.

"Yes," Napoleon said, "I have full confidence."

Without even looking, he pointed his canon at an alleyway where a few sukeban were coming out of. He fired, knocking out the small group that was trying to ambush them. The rest of the girls followed his example, firing wholeheartedly at the sukebans still present in the area.

Even with all of the gunfire around him, Napoleon calmly strolled through the carnage. Nothing seemed to worry him. He fired another cannonball, destroying a car being used as cover. The sukebans behind it were knocked out. Another group trying to run were thrown off their feet by a blast from Iroha's tank. The street eventually grew quiet.

Napoleon looked behind him to see Suzumi exiting the building. She gave him a thumbs up. He happily returned it. Then he looked at Rin. She walked up to his side and stopped. He eagerly slapped her shoulder, nearly knocking her over.

"Another victory under our belt," Napoleon said, "You were all superb!"

"It was all thanks to you, Sensei." Suzumi said, "Thanks for the throw, by the way."

"You're very much welcome," Napoleon gave her a friendly wink, "I don't like throwing pretty maidens around, but I knew you could win easily. I was very much vindicated."

Suzumi scratched her chin slightly as she blushed. She wasn't often called pretty. It wasn't something she really knew how to respond to so she stayed silent.

"As much as I'd love to stop and compliment you fine ladies all day," Napoleon said, turning his head as they heard a faint gunshot. "We've got a lot more on our hands."

"We have your back, Big Boss." Pina shouted in glee.

"I think Sensei will work for now," Napoleon said, "But I like your naming spirit. I'll take the lead this time around."

"Is there even an end to them?!"

Those were the words Yuuka Hayase shouted as she sprayed her two handguns down on the gang members. Yuuka wasn't exactly a premier fighter. She usually stayed behind lines and worked on the goings on in her Academy. You could probably tell by how she was dressed. What with her black suit which ended in a miniskirt and a white overcoat. Her long blue hair trailed behind her though she had two ponytails on the side of her head as well. She moved away from the window, dodging a few scattered bullets that came her way.

She was really glad they hadn't used their tank yet. It was only a matter of time before they did. She sighed. At least she wasn't alone in this.

Behind her were two other students. She had bumped into them on her way to the GSC building. Unfortunately they had been ambushed by the sukeban gang. It wasn't that bad at first. Just some random gang members they could deal with easily enough. Then the tanks started to show up and the gang members had tried swarming them. They had to hide out in a building just to make it this far.

Chinatsu Hinomiya. A member of the Gehenna Academy's Disciplinary Committee. She wore a black skirt and a white blouse that had a loose red tie around her neck. Her red stockings covered her legs. Yuuka idly wondered if it was because of her job as a medic that they were so red. It would be easy to cover it up. Sure students didn't really bleed on you but the thought still made Yuuka cringe slightly. Chinatsu huffed and tucked a strawberry like colored hair passed her elvish ears.

She was hunched over the other student. Hasumi Hanekawa, the vice captain of Justice Realization Committee. Basically they were their own version of the police force for the Trinity campus. Valkyrie didn't bother operating there too much because of it. A little bit of rivalry simmered between them but it was nothing major. Hasumi was dressed in a long black outfit that didn't cover her shapely legs that much. In fact, you could plainly see a part of her lacey underwear with how much hip was showing on one side. Of course, there was a lot going on with Hasumi that you might miss it.

Namely her huge, black wings behind her. Then again, everything was huge. Her chest and hips were rather large but it was fitting given how tall she was. Yuuka was not at all jealous by her size. Sometimes though, she wondered if Hasumi was older then she said she was. Then again, that went for a number of students. It was just a staple of Kivotos she had to accept.

Hasumi was covered in bruises. She had been unlucky in gaining the attention of the local tank. It wasn't a direct hit but it was close enough to knock her off her feet. Thankfully nothing was seriously injured but Hasumi definitely had better days.

Chinatsu held a syringe with green liquid inside of it, "Hold still."

Hasumi gritted her teeth, "And you are sure that it'll work?"

Yuuka could tell that Hasumi didn't trust the Gehenna student. Trinity and Gehenna's rivalry ran deep. At least the vice captain didn't try and attack the medic. It seemed Hasumi could keep her temper in check but it was still there. Plain as day, really.

Chinatsu huffed, "I am a medic first. My duty is to heal the wounded, no matter who they are. Just trust me. For today, at least."

Hasumi sighed and nodded, "Very well. Get it over with."

Without further lip from her patient, Chinatsu inserted the syringe. With a little push, she pulled back. Instantly, a number of Hasumi's bruises started to heal over. It was a handy thing to have. Even though injuries were rare, healing techniques and technologies had advanced so far that most injuries that did happen were easily treated. Then again, most of the time it was used on non-students. They didn't have the haloes to protect them but students also benefited from it as well.

Hasumi sighed with relief. Chinatsu couldn't help but smile. She gave her a little pat on the shoulder which only got a huff from the Trinity student. That was alright in her books.

"Just don't strain yourself," Chinatsu said, "You should be back up to full strength by this time tomorrow."

"That's if we make it to tomorrow," Yuuka griped, ducking to the side to avoid a spray of bullets.

"Don't be a pessimist," Hasumi said, finally getting the energy to stand up. Chinatsu did her best to help though it was obvious the vice captain was still wary of her. "I've been through worse situations."

"That's so great to hear," Yuuka sarcastically said.

A not so distant explosion suddenly got their attention. Yuuka was tempted to poke her head out the window to see. She shook it. It must have either been a misfire or infighting. She doubted the Valkyrie had gotten this far out. Nothing against them, but they weren't known for having a great force under their belt. Her brow furrowed when she heard the shouts of the gang members grow more and more panicked. Something was pushing them back.

She sighed. Curiosity may have killed the cat but that kitty didn't have a halo. She snuck a peak outside and her eyes widened. Several of the sukebans were on the ground, knocked out. The culprit was the last person she'd expected to see.

An adult man.

An adult man with a halo.

That was insane. Adults didn't just go running around Kivotos, especially not ones with massive cannons. The man fired at a car where three sukeban were hiding. The car and the sukeban were blown away instantly by the impact. Yuuka inwardly whistled. That was some great firepower right there. Although, the tank was still an issue.

Said tank was training its main gun onto him. Yuuka wanted to shout at him to run away. He might be big but that was still a tank. The man didn't shy away. He just grinned and jumped to the side of the fired tank round. His own cannon returned fire.

The tank went up in a blaze. The sukebans near it were either knocked out with it or were panicking, running away from the carnage. As usually, some knocked out ex-students rolled out of the carnage of the downed tank. Thank goodness for student durability.

The remaining sukeban tried to at least retreat in order. The man wasn't going to let up. Two more shots claimed five more sukebans. He rolled into cover to avoid the last bit of resistance. A few mini gunners to be precise. She thought about helping him. Then she saw him put his cannon up to the car he was hiding behind. A blast from it sent the car flying forward. It smashed into the mini gunners who didn't get much time to scream before they were out for good.

The large man stood up and laughed. It was honestly a pretty upbeat laugh. Yuuka was almost tempted to join. Then again, she was too busy sighing with relief.

"What's happening?" Hasumi asked.

"I think we're going to be alright," Yuuka said with a relax smile.

"I'm glad to see you're alright," Napoleon shouted as he watched the three students walk out from the building.

He inwardly sighed with relief. The servant had to keep reminding himself that these girls were tougher than they looked. It was just unfortunate that a bit of this brought back bad memories. His comrades in arms falling down one or several at a time from withering fire. He pushed those aside but would never forget them. He was thankful that didn't happen here.

Of course, it helped that they were all very charming. That went especially for the tall one. His grin grew a bit as he moved forward.

"Oooh lala~ If the lady needs someone to carry her," he said, "I would love to oblige her."

"I think I can manage," the tall, winged student said with a firm nod. She was still leaning slightly on the elvish looking girl, "I've been through worse. You don't have to worry about me, mister…"

"Napoleon Bonaparte," he said firmly, before bowing. "But you can call me Sensei if you so wish."

"Sensei?" The girls said in unison, just as curious about it as the other.

That's when the other students started to arrive. Rin and their little entourage were the first. Then Iroha and two other tanks, flanked by a number of Gehenna and Valkyrie students. Them being here meant they had broken through the other lines already. Magnificent. His students were surpassing his expectations all the time.

"Sensei," Rin said, glaring up at him as she marched forward. She stopped just short of him. The height difference made the scene kinda cute, "I would prefer it if you didn't go running off. Even if you are a 'servant' with a halo, you are still only one man."

"But one man can turn the tide of battle," Napoleon said with gusto, "He only needs to know when to throw himself into the knick of things. As well, I couldn't turn away from helping such fine ladies such as these."

The trio blushed. Rin just pinched the bridge of her nose. Seems she still wasn't used to his flirting nature. Oh well. She'd get used to it. She turned to the others and looked them over.

"I'm glad that you all are alright," she said, "It seems you have met our Sensei already. Starting today, he will be working with us to ensure the safety of Kivotos. So please just learn to deal with his behavior for now."

Napoleon laughed and patted Rin's head, causing her to blush and huff. "Such an attitude from my master. Pay her no mind. She's just a little prickly from having to fight through a city. I think we all are."

"Get off of me," Rin swatted his hand away. He did move it but his laugh made her agitation just grow that much more.

"My, my, my." A mysterious voiced called out, "It seems you're all having a bit of fun. Mind if I join?"

They all turned to see a fox lady walk around the corner. Everyone, except Napoleon, instantly trained their weapons on her. It was impossible to miss who she was. None other then one of the most wanted students in Kivotos: Wakamo. The ex-student didn't seem to take the threat seriously given how her rifle was lazily on her shoulders with her arms wrapped around it.

"Such a mean response," Wakamo said, "I just wanted to come over and say high."

Napoleon moved forward, keeping himself in front of his students. He didn't dare get too close to her though. Sure he was smiling, she was a pretty lady from what he could see, but he could also see an enemy quite clearly. One that had cards to play. No one was stupid enough to go out alone unless they did.

"Oooh lala," he said with a hearty grin, "We haven't met before. I am Napoleon Bonaparte! Sensei of Kivotos. May I have the name of the beautiful lady before me?"

Wakamo was silent for a moment. Then her tail started to wag. Napoleon quirked an eyebrow at that. The unruly ex-student quickly shook her head before coughing.

"Ummm, I am Wakamo." She said confidently. She moved her gun down to rest at her side, "I'm just here to have a little fun."

Napoleon kept smiling but his fingers were twitching around his cannon, "Is there any way we could settle this diplomatically?"

"Hmmm," Wakamo tapped her chin.

The place was silent for a moment. Napoleon and his allies were just waiting for the pin to drop. He wasn't stupid enough to believe a terrorist like her would just give up. He'd just have to time his shot right and he could take her out. The moment she lifted her gun, he'd-

There was a large boom.

Napoleon had barely a second to answer it when a large cannon round had burst through the building to Wakamo's left. He raised his cannon and fired. It was far too close and must have been an explosive round. For when they met, the two shells exploded. It sent everyone reeling but none more than Napoleon himself, who went flying straight into the building behind him.

As the downed students picked themselves up, Rin could only stare in shock. So far today, nothing had so much as budged her servant. He had seemed like this unstoppable force that could wipe out tanks with ease. Yet now he had been thrown away by a single shot. It was disheartening to say the least.

Wakamo didn't seem to think so. Her laughter filled the area. Then it slowly got drowned out as a loud rumbling started. It didn't take long to figure out why. A single tank started to roll onto the street. However, this was no ordinary tank. It far outclassed Iroha's tanks in size and fire power by two to three times. The most damning sight was the large sign on the side.

It read:

/Property of Makoto Hanuma. Do not steal or else/

At that moment, everyone collectively agreed on one thing.

They really hated Makoto.

Yes, that's a supped up Maus tank. Why? I wanted to make this fic a bit different to add to the stakes. That and to help this one stand out since there are other 'replace Sensei' fics. Hope it works. If you can, a comment can go a long way in helping me know what you enjoy. Hope you are stay well and take care of yourselves. Till next time.
