Emmett was working in his office in his apartment. It was winter break, but he had a lot of work to get done.
Elle was sitting on the couch scrolling through instagram. When she was scrolling, a post caught her eye.
NOW IN THEATERS:
THE BARBIE MOVIE
Elle squealed. She's been waiting months for this movie to come out. She jumped up from the couch and ran to the office.
"Emmett!! Guess what!!" She yelled. Emmett jumped, "Jesus Elle, you scared me." He put his hand over his heart. Elle smiled sympathetically. "Oh Em, I'm sorry. But the Barbie movie just came out and we need to see it nowww." Emmett smiled at her, "I wish we could Elle but i've got a lot of work to do." Elle walked over to him and took his hand. "You've been working a lot, a little break won't hurt. Pleaseee." She gave him puppy eyes. Emmett sighed, "Fine."
"Yess!!" She dragged him to their shared bedroom and opened their closet. "We have to get dressed." Emmett looked down at his clothes. "I'm already dressed, we are going to the movies not a fancy restaurant." Elle rolled her eyes, "No silly, we have to wear pink. It's the BARBIE movie." Emmett got worried, "I don't have anything pink, why can't I just go like this."
"Because I said so, Emmett. Now wear this." Elle said pulling out a pink T-shirt and handing it to him. Emmett knew it wasn't his shirt. It had wording on it that said "Girls rule the world." Sensing his disgust, Elle laughed, "You can just wear it inside out." Emmett looked at her, "Fine."
After they got dressed, Emmett looked at himself in the mirror. "I look weird." He said grumpily. "No you don't, you look adorable." Elle said behind him. He turned around. Emmett looked her up and down and he was speechless.
Elle had on a pink sun dress. Her hair was curled and she had a pink bow in her hair. There was a little bit of make up on her face and some jewelry. Emmett thought she looked beautiful.
He walked over to her and put his arms around her waist. "You look stunning." He kissed her. She smiled, "Thank you."
The movie starts at 5:30 so they had to leave. Once they got to the movies, they bought tickets. Elle convinced Emmett to buy a bucket of popcorn so they can share.
They made their way to the theater and found two seats. While they waited for the movie, Emmett looked at Elle. She had excitement all over her face. "You excited?" She looked at him and smiled, "Yes! I've been waiting for this to come out." She took his hand in hers.
Once the movie started, Elle couldn't take her eyes off of the screen. She was blown away by this movie. It was like her whole personality plus pink.
Emmett on the other hand thought it was terribly cheesy. Ken was annoying him and the song he sang made him cringe. But when he looked at Elle, mouth opened and speechless. He couldn't seem to enjoy this moment even more.
After the movie ended, they made their way to the car. The car ride was quiet, both of them processing the movie.
Back at the apartment, Elle walked to the couch, Emmett following her. "So you never told me what you thought of it." Elle turned to him and smiled. "Emmett, I think we need to see it again tomorrow." That caused Emmett to chuckle. "I can't tell if you like it or not." He said sarcastically. Seriousness written all over her face, Elle put her head on his chest. "I didn't like it, I loved it."
