Chapter 57: Returning To The Hotel
Me and Lars then returned to The Hazbin Hotel. Inside, Charlie was on the phone with someone.
"Look, calm down!" She said, "I'm having a hard time as well since my father has lost it over The Phantom Thieves!"
Then, someone on the phone with Charlie hangs up. Charlie sighed heavily as she looked at us.
"Oh hey guys!" She said,
"Who was that on the phone?" Lars wondered,
"A new worker."
"Oh, someone else is gonna work for us?"
"Yeah, but… He's… an enigma."
"Right, we can tell from how frustrated you sound on the phone."
"So, how was your time out?"
"Good, thanks for asking."
Lars walked out of the hotel. Charlie chuckled.
"What a guy." She said, "Considering that he's from Lust, he's not so lustful at all!"
"Maybe he's built differently." I said,
"Well, Uncle Ozzie told me that Lust is an art and it's not always about having sex, or something like that. It's been a while since I last saw him."
"I'll… Be going to my room."
"Right! Let me know when you need anything!"
"Got it. Thanks."
August 2nd. I was helping out with Charlie until someone came in. He was a black snake demon with eyes all over him.
"OH PRINCESS! I HAVE ARRIVED!" He shouted,
"Pentious! Not too fucking loud!" Vaggie shouted while doing chores.
"Pentious?" I said,
"Oh, that's the new worker I have when it comes to seeking redemption here." Charlie said,
"Oh."
"Yeah, getting a Sinner to heaven is hard with or without backup."
"Can I talk to him?"
"If you want. Vaggie describes him as a headache."
"I'll try my best with him."
I walked over to Pentious. He looked at me with a smug look on his face.
"Who attempts to come face-to-face with me?!" He said,
"That would be me, sir." I replied calmly,
"Oh? Not afraid?"
"No."
Pentious shared a laugh.
"You're alright, kid!" He said, "Sir Pentious at your service!"
"Ren Amamiya." I said, "Just call me Ren."
"Gladly!"
An egg demon appeared next to Pentious.
"Ay, boss, who's the new friend ya got?" He asked him,
"Shhhh! Shut it and go play with your friends!" Pentious said to him,
"Alright, boss!"
The egg demon walked away. Pentious sighed.
"Apologies, I have some… minions at my disposal." He said to me,
"It's fine." I said,
"Well, maybe I should have them be your minions if my sanity has reached its limit! Ha ha!"
I nervously laughed a bit.
"You know what? You're a sinner as well, yes?" Pentious asked me,
"Well, yeah…" I said,
"I'll come up with something to help you get the redemption you need!"
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, I am sure!"
"I hope it's nothing bad."
"Trust me, it won't! Mwa ha ha ha ha!"
I'm beginning to grow close to Sir Pentious.
Fast forwarding to a few months later. Bernie was still interrogating me.
"According to a source, your skills in handling a gun and a knife have improved over your time as a Phantom Thief." He said to me, "Could it be that someone else or you have taught yourself how to improve…"
I was silent.
"Care to answer that?" Bernie said while raising an eyebrow,
Back to the present moment. A voice spoke to me.

I have formed a strange bond with Pentious. This is gonna be a ride.
"Well, I'll be off!" Pentious said to me, "Toodles!"
Pentious slithered away. I'm scared.
August 3rd.
I was in my hotel room, texting with my friends.
"How's Astrid doing?" Cattleya asked,
"She's in a hospital in Sloth." Selene replied, "She'll be doing just fine."
"So she's in a mental shutdown?" Boris asked,
"Yes, but then a psychotic breakdown might happen if she wakes up."
"I sure hope she'll control herself…" Cattleya said, "Considering what has happened when we tried to change her heart."
"Don't worry about it, Cattleya." Willow said,
"Yeah, as long as Astrid is fine, she's in good hands." Selene said,
"So, when are we gonna have a chat with Blitz and his goons?" Lars asked, "Is tomorrow good?"
"Tomorrow is good for me." I texted,
"I guess we'll go and chat with them tomorrow." Cattleya said, "But I probably won't be coming since I need a break."
"Understandable." Willow said, "We hope you and Astrid get enough rest."
"Thanks, guys."
