This is one take on how season 8 SHOULD have gone. Elizabeth's eyes are opened by an incident at the saloon and a chance encounter with Constable Grant. Word of caution- I despise Lucas, so his character developement will be far from flattering.

It all starts for Elizabeth on a sister's trip to Oahu. Lucas is there to reconnect with his girlfriend. How do they meet?

Trips to Aberdeen and Hamilton cause Elizabeth to question her choices and the need to turn her life around. As she attempts to correct her mistakes and make amends to those she has deeply hurt will she be too late, or will true love persevere?

This story follows on from the epilogue of Bringing Hope Back. The Grant Family return to Hope Valley for the summer, will they find peace and happiness they seek or will troubles from the past come back to haunt them. This will be a weekly posting for now. The main characters belong to Hallmark and Crown Media.

This is a Jack and Elizabeth modern romance set in Chicago, Illinois. Jack is a cardiothoracic surgeon, and Elizabeth is a social services supervisor. But when they introduce themselves, things are not exactly what they seem. Will they get to the truth, and if they do, are they willing to put things aside and start over?

What if Bill didn't interrupt Elizabeth and Nathan at the end of the season 10 finale?

Upon a mutual breakup at the train station Lucas writes letters to both Elizabeth and Nathan After realizing that his calling was to serve the people in the political arena he knows that Elizabeth requires her to stay where she is. He had expected to be more upset but somehow he felt a peace about it and was excited about what else the future might hold for him.

Lucas and Elizabeth have just gotten engaged and are excitedly planning for their future together in Hope Valley. [Alt. ending after S9E12 - LucaBeth is alive, healthy, and thriving]

This is the 6th story in a series about Nathan, Dee, Allie, and baby Christopher Grant, with one on the way, who live in Hope Valley in their new home with grandparents Archie and Emily Grant. Picking up at the end of S8e11. Lucas walks off and Elizabeth finally faces the fear that she has been running from. A redemption fic that aims to restore Elizabeth to a woman worthy of Nathan's heart. Title based on the hymn Amazing Grace "was blind, but now I see."

Season 9. A devastated Nathan looks to recenter his life. Faith learns that medicine cannot heal a broken heart. Elizabeth and Little Jack embark on a new journey as they bring Lucas into the fold. And new faces arrive in Hope Valley. (Written with all characters in mind, focusing on a few as they find new love and move forward together.) LucaBeth, Nathan/Faith. IN PROGRESS.

Jack Thornton moves to Hamilton just before he begins his senior year in high school in this modern day story. His father, Tom, begins work for a shipping tycoon, William Thatcher. Jack meets Elizabeth before school starts. Their first meeting didn't go well. Will this drive them apart or draw them together?

Elizabeth follows Charles back to Hamilton after he proposes to her in the schoolhouse. Charles and Jack think she has accepted Charles' proposal of marriage. Is this all a misunderstanding? Can Jack and Elizabeth find their way back to each other after her indecisiveness? This story is set in the time frame of the show. However, the storyline differs from it.

Nathan and Elizabeth Grant and their blended family were meant to be, yet it has been a long road to love. Completiing S-10 E-12 of "When Calls the Heart," I offer what could be. My apologies for this late posting on the afternoon of the finale, but this story grew and, much as I tired, I could not delete in the editing process. Maybe you can read and enjoy between seasons? . .

A heart story for September 2023. How/Why do Elizabeth and Lucas break up? #hsbreakup This story follows elements of S10 of WCTH but was mostly written before the actual breakup on screen.

"I've met charmers like him before. The flower soon withers on the vine." Elizabeth said those words to Abigail shortly after Lucas' arrival in Hope Valley. About a year of marriage and Elizabeth starts to realize the truth of those words. However, when she finally hits rock bottom, the hand held out to her in love is one of the last ones she would expect.

Elizabeth starts to work on healing her heart so she can love with her whole heart.

It is one week before the wedding when pastor Joseph makes a simple statement that plants a doubt in Elizabath's mind as to if her and Lucas are "especially made for each other". But what does it mean? Plans are in place, the dress is made, family and friends are on the way. Is this just pre-wedding jitters… or something more? Part of SNS Heart Challenge for September.
