The sun rose onto a peaceful and

quiet Indian camp, warming up the area.

Before anyone else, a young and mighty warrior

left the tent.

With his bow and arrows, he went

into the forest confident and steady.

What beast would he find today?

A bear, a boar, an elk or a muskrat?

Whatever it was, the cocky boy was

sure that his people would praise

him as a hero on his return.

The boy was deep in thought

when a very loud splash awoke him.

Ah. A beast had entered

nearby waters.

The boy quickly readied his bow and

arrow before creeping out of the

forest, ready for anything.

Or was he?

Before him was an extremely

beautiful young maiden.

She had long, beautiful hair that floated down

into the water; her body was

half-way into the lake.

All around her were a bunch of Tiger Lillies

that she had placed into the water, floating

into a circle around her.

Hearing the noise behind her, she spun

around startled.

Her skin was smooth, her eyes were kind

and she had a face that somehow

allowed others' worries to fade away.

The moment the two locked

eyes together, their hearts

went wild.

The maiden suddenly gave out a

mischievous but kind smile as she

swam back to shore.

Snapping out of his daze, the boy

lowered his weapons and helped the

maiden out of the water.

After that, the two locked hands

and stared at each other dreamily, as

they both knew this was the moment

they had been waiting for all of their lives.

Several years later, along came

their greatest treasure.

A daughter they called Tiger Lilly,

for she was gentle in appearance but

had a fiery and courageous spirit.

In other words, the perfect mix

of her parents.
