Disclaimer – It has come to my attention recently that I unfortunately do not own Harry Potter or Star Wars or their respective universes. Who knew.
Author Note – I enjoy writing short stories for my own enjoyment but at a suggestion from a friend, I have decided to start posting some of my stories that I am working on or have completed. All feedback is welcome (hopefully constructive!) Looking forward to what you think!

This story is dedicated to Ryan McPartin, my first upper tier patron.
Harry Potter was unsure of where he was. He tried to look all around him for something he could recognize but all he could see were streaks of light starting at some point so far in the distance he was unable to see where they started and stretching well into the distance behind him.
Harry had the sensation he was moving but without any points of reference by which he was able to use as a benchmark, he was unable to determine how fast, and beyond this he could find no reason that would explain how and why he was flying with nothing to help him.
Realizing nothing in front of him would help him, Harry tried to tried to think back to the last things he could remember. After what seemed like much longer than a normal recall he started remembering things…he remembered running through the hallways at Hogwarts…there had been a battle and he remembered the feelings of concern that he might lose…he remembered…oh…he remembered seeing the corpses of Fred, Lupin, Tonks; friends and family having died in a belief that Harry would save them…he remembered walking through a forest alone…and he remembered the vibrant green glow as the killing curse raced its way towards him, filling his vision…and…that was all…
Harry felt there was more but no matter how hard he tried he could not remember anything else… well that was not entirely true… he saw images of individual dressed in a black robe and could recall the sound of a word in a voice he could not recall ever having heard before, shouting out, "FATE!"
As Harry looked around, he noticed he appeared to be slowing, as he released that some of the streaks of light stopped being lines and actually became small extremely bright points of light that flew by so fast he could not twist his head fast enough to catch any details.
As things slowed down further, he noticed that these points of light were not uniformly distributed but appeared to be randomly spread among the landscape forming patterns…
Harry froze as a cold certainty settle over him.
Wait…were these stars? Was he hurtling through space?
Harry began to panic, twisting and turning, trying to identify how he was moving through space, trying to identify how he was alive.
While Harry was trying to solve these questions he received an even bigger surprise when he looked down at his body, which caused him to try to call out in concern.
Harry noticed that his body looked partly… transparent?
It was extremely unsettling.
To him it looked as if someone had cast a very poor disillusionment charm. He was able to make out the outline of his body and could distinguish some general details of his body, however he was able to see the stars through his body.
Harry twisted around trying to get a bearing on where he was or what was happening. He could find nothing to answer his questions.
As Harry looked around he felt a sense of dejections slowly start to creep over him, as he thought to himself, 'I must be dead…honestly not what I expected…just flying through space forever.'
"You will not be flying through space forever." A voice called out, a voice that Harry realized was the same one that he could recall have having shouted out "FATE" before, a voice that seeming called out from everywhere.
Surprised Harry let out a startled shout and frantically looked around him trying to identify where the voice, which called out to him in answer to his thoughts, was coming from.
"I am not there or at least not in any form you would be able to perceive."
"Who are you? What is happening to me?..." Harry called out to the voice, before thinking to himself, 'Is this real or is this all happening in my head … have I gone crazy?'
Harry noticed that as he had been distracted by the voice he had slowed down further and he was able to recognize small shapes that were flying by … shapes that appeared to be … planets? Some filled solely with strange looking trees that were miles high, others completesd covered with water – a little oasis among the stars, while others appeared to be covered in nothing but lava glowing bright red against the darkness of space – as if small little embers floating in the darkness of night.
"Who I am is not an easy concept to explain. But you may view me as the concept of fate."
Harry froze, not expecting that, "… fate?"
"Yes, what I am is more complex and beyond your ability to understand but you may think of and address me as Fate."
"Um … ok … Fate? ... what is happening? What happened to me."
"That is a slightly easier question to answer. Simply put, you Harry Potter had died."
"Wait, what?" Harry was floundered trying to think of a response, as he tried to process what he had heard. "No … no … that can't be. Why can't I remember anything clearly? Why are my memories so blurry, this can't be. This has to be some sort of ruse to get information from me."
If the cold unyielding voice had been capable of sounding sad, Harry was sure the tone of the next statement qualified. "I am sorry Harry, it is true, the man on your planet that you knew as Tom Riddle attempted to circumvent his fate and obtain immortality. And part of what I am is death."
"Wait … you are also Death?"
"I am, for after all it is the fate of almost all things to die."
Harry thought on this noticing that once again he appeared to have slowed further as he passed a world which appeared to be covered in nothing but buildings reaching up towards the skies as if trying to escape what sat at their roots and another world where it appeared all their buildings were floating in the sky.
"So if the fate of all things is to die … why am I here? What is happening?"
"I had found you acting in such a way that I was able to claim you as an agent of fate. Something I have only been able to do several times though the existence of the concept you know as time. Inspired by you and with your sacrifice on your world, you set in motion events that allowed those who you knew to triumph over Tom Riddle. This restored the natural order of things on your world."
Harry could not help but feel relief at those words.
"You mean my friends … they … they won? They are ok?" Harry asked cautiously, concerned he may have been misinterpreting the words.
"Yes Harry, they won, they triumphed over Tom Riddle who proceeded to wither away into an eternal nothingness where he will exist forever to be forgotten by everything and everyone. While it it was not easy for them, none of those who you care about and left behind lost their lives in what had remained in the conflict."
Harry let out an audible sign and felt the tension he had been carrying since … well since as long as her could remember began to melt away and dissipate allowing him to relax.
'They had won … they had actually won …'
"What happens next? Can I go back? Or do I get to move on … and get to be reunited with those I lost?"
Fate paused, "You could go back or you could go on. But like space around you, there are an infinite numbers of decision you can make at this point."
Harry looked around him observing the vastness of space and weighing Fate's words, trying to decide what he would rather do … go back and see his friends that remained: Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, Luna, and all the others … or if he wanted to move on and have the opportunity to meet his parents … Sirius …
Before he was able to say anything though, Fate continued on, "However, I hope to ask a favor of you. You had managed to stop a man whose actions were threatening a nation, I am asking you to help stop a man whose actions will threaten an entire galaxy."
As Fate had been explaining this sentence Harry noticed that as they continued slowing down, seemingly heading directly towards a planet directly in front of him … a planet that appeared to be one solid color, a desaturated yellow … a planet that seemed to be composed entirely of … sand.
'Ooo … I love sand,'Harry thought, remembering the one trip the Dursley's had been forced to bring him on, a trip where everyone else had been so focused on Dudley trying to swim in the lake that they all seemed to forget about Harry, leaving him to lay by himself on the beach and play in the sand.
Shaking off the memory, Harry reflected on Fate's suggestion before tentatively asking, "How will I be able to do that? I barely succeeded against Voldemort, actually having to have sacrificed myself for my friends to have stood a chance. How am I supposed to succeed here? … Why don't you do something?"
"I am not able to directly interfere in the fates of people, although when you became an Agent of Fate, I did gain a little ability to affect where and how you existed. However, once I do this, I will lose any ability to interfere in this universe. Should you chose to accept this plan, once placing you and a gift for being my Agent, something to help you succeed, I will no longer be able to access this universe, either to help you should you need it or stop you should you fall.
Harry thought back on the memories he had accumulated over his lifetime. Memories of time spent with friends, memories of his parents, memories of his failures, and memories of watching others suffer … and Harry Potter knew in that moment what he was going to do.
"If I do this, I will be able to see my parents someday though, … right?" Harry asked.
Fate replied, "Yes Harry, no matter what you decide and no matter what would happen here, you have more than earned the right to be reunited with your parents someday."
In a seemingly quieter voice Fate continued, "Even if indeed there is another universe I ask you to intervene in, you will never lose the right to be reunited, you shall only be delayed."
"Well then, I have decided …"
Harry noticed that his suspicion had been correct. He had indeed been heading towards the planet apparently covered in sand. Over the past minute, the planet had been getting bigger and bigger until the land below him filled his entire vision.
Looking to the side Harry watched as he flew by what could only be described as a spaceship, a incredibly shiny and polished silver space ship that appeared to be quite streamlined in its design, which aslo appeared to be descending towards the planets surface, specifically a little grouping of buildings … A settlement? A town? A city?
"How will I be able to make a difference though? I had enough difficulty making a difference on my own world and I did not have to leave my country. As a foreigner, how will I have even the smallest chance to save the galaxy from … whoever the threat is.
"Do not worry Harry, as mentioned, when you awake you will see the gift I have given you. But more than that, you are not just going to start existing here, but rather you will be in the body of an individual that will have the opportunity to be close to relevant events throughout this universe. While the journey will not always be easy, you have the chance to make a difference. In order to help you start in this universe I will also give you all the previous knowledge and skills of this individual, it should help to make this transition easier for you and should help prevent you from sticking out."
"This is all I can offer you, I can not give more information about what you should do. Your journey is up to you. I do however wish you the best of luck."
With the end of that statement Harry felt a sensation that was difficult to describe, it was as if something was there and now it was gone. He realized that it likely meant that he had made his decision and Fate was now removed from this universe and he was all on his own.
Harry realized that his momentum had almost completely ceased and he was no longer above the buildings but rather he was within one of the houses, floating down towards a bed. As Harry found himself nearing the bed, Harry watched as the pile of sheets moved slightly revealing that the bed was occupied. Before Harry had anytime to process that he watched his 'foot' start to make contact with the body in the bed.
Immediately Harry felt a weird sensation as if he was standing too close to a lightning strike. As this sensation lessened slightly Harry felt his mind start to fill with knew knowledge … knowledge he knew for a fact he had not learned in his past life. All of a sudden Harry knew about robotics … he knew alien languages … he knew what a hydrospanner was … he knew what …
Harry was roused from his current state as a voice called from another rom, a voice that part of him knew he had never heard before and yet another part of him this was the most comforting voice in the world, it was the voice of … his mother.
"Ani, come down for breakfast. This is your last chance if you want to eat something before you head off to work …"
Kind Regards,
