Captain Blues: Another MHA fanfic? Not really. After some thought, I decided to take down My Hero Academia: Two Minds, One Mind. As much as I liked it, I realized I didn't have the same love for it as I once had. But, it did spawn on a much clearer idea for a story and even though the main idea is gone, a few ideas I had for it will pop up from time to time. So let's set sail on Son of a (Spirit) Gun and I hope you enjoy!
Story Name: Son of a (Spirit) Gun!
Summary: After a particularly hard day being physically and emotionally beaten by Bakugō Katsuki, a thirteen-year-old Midoriya Izuku finds himself in the unenviable position of seeing an invisible girl moments away from being hit by a car.
With no Pro-Heroes around, Izuku throws himself into the fire and saves the girl at the cost of his life. But despite this, Izuku finds himself greeted by a female spirit with vibrant red-orange hair and bright green eyes.
Midoriya Izuku joins an elite club with the likes of Satō Kuroko, Sensui Shinobu, and Urameshi Yusuke as Earth's new Spirit Detective. How will this single event change the world filled with heroes and villains?
Pairing: Ashido Mina/Hakigakure Tōru/Midoriya Izuku, Jirō Kyōka/Uraraka Ochako, Kirishima Eijirō/Mawata Fuwa, and many more!
Disclaimer: I may be the Captain of a Pirate ship but I don't think the SS Horikoshi would enjoy it if I stole this so I don't own it. I am merely…Borrowing.

Surprised to be Dead
[Aldera Junior High (Daytime)
POV: Midoriya Izuku]
"Oi, we're not done talking yet, Deku."
Midoriya Izuku glanced up at his former best friend, Bakugō Katsuki, who held his notebook.
"Katsuki, what's that?" One of Bakugō's friends asked him.
"Just a little notebook this nerd is always carrying," Bakugō answered as Izuku stood up at his desk.
"C-Come on! I'm having a bad day. Please give it back," Izuku begged.
"Aww. Little Deku's having a bad day?" Bakugō's friends mocked as Bakugō himself laughed.
"You poor puppy. You want this back?" Bakugō questioned as he held it out to him.
"Y-yes. Please," Izuka answered, praying that somewhere deep inside of this menace that Bakugō had changed into was his best friend.
Unfortunately, Izuku was cruelly let down by the Bakugō, who smacked his hands together and burned the book in response, a giant grin on his face. Izuku helplessly watched as smoke and flames rose from his notebook.
"Whoops," Bakugō taunted. "Sorry, Deku, I lost control there. Let's put this fire out, shall we?"
Before Izuku could respond, Bakugō launched the notebook over his shoulder and out of the window.
Izuku stared at Bakugō with a look of despair on his face.
"Let that teach a lesson to you, Driftwood," Bakugō told him with a sneer. "Most first-string heroes show potential early on. Most people look at them and know that they're destined for greatness. But when they look at you and people like you, all they see is a useless, Quirk-less, spineless loser who isn't worth the time."
Bakugō placed his hand on Izuku's shoulder, which caused Izuku to wince as he felt the heat from Bakugō's palm begin to burn at his jacket. "With that said, throw away that dream of yours of being a hero, or else you'll wind up with some serious regret for pissing me off. Got that?"
Izuku squinted his eyes as he began to sweat, his eyes locked onto the cold gaze of Bakugō's before the taller teen smirked. "Good. Glad we could have this chat," Bakugō finished as he removed his and shoulder-checked Izuka as he walked past him with a chuckle.
Izuka merely stared forward out the window, his body quivering as tears began to build in his eyes.
Why?
Why did Bakugō continue to do this to him? He did nothing wrong to him, but he had been treated like some second-class citizen every day for almost half of his life.
No.
Worse than that.
He was treated as if he was nothing.
"I do have one more piece of advice for you, Deku," Bakugō's voice said from behind him. "If you truly want to be a hero so bad, there's a perfect way to obtain it. If you believe they're holding your Quirk over in the next world, you should swan dive off the rooftop."
Izuku felt a cold sensation wrap around his heart at Bakugō's words as the teen, and his goons walked out of the classroom.
Leaving the disheartened youth alone in the classroom.
[Streets of Musutafu, Japan (Late Afternoon)
POV: Midoriya Izuku]
The sun was setting on Musutafu as Izuku made his way home with his head bowed, causing his hair to overshadow his eyes.
How long could he keep going through this sort of pain? What did he do wrong in his life or a past life to go through such a debilitating bullying?
There must be something he could do to stop the pain he had to suffer through every single day, right?
As Izuku walked, he heard a door open from his left, and seconds later, he hit something solid, which caused him to fall onto his butt while a female voice wailed down to the right front of him.
"O-Oh, I am so s-sorry!" Izuku hastily apologized as he looked up, only to see a powder blue tank top with pink stripes, tan shorts, knee-high black socks, a pair of sneakers, and a pair of powder blue jelly rings around her wrists with white gloves.
"N-No, it's okay," the female voice said with a cheerful tone. "I didn't see where I was going, funny enough." Izuku watched as the clothes lifted off the ground and a gloved hand hovered in front of his face. "Let me help you up."
Izuku nodded and took the hand, which allowed the girl to hoist him up off the ground. "Sorry about that," the girl chirped as she pulled her hand away from his and said, "Welp, time to continue my jog. Make sure you tie your shoe. Catch you later!"
Izuku lifted his hand to wave goodbye as the girl jogged over to the streetlight and pressed the button to wait for the crosswalk sign to turn green.
"Goodbye…" Izuku whispered.
Well, at least today wasn't so bad.
He actually talked to a girl.
Izuku looked down at his right shoe and noticed that it was untied. He bent down to tie his undone shoe, only to hear something fast approaching. He looked up to see a speeding car heading down the street just as the crosswalk light flashed green.
He noticed the invisible girl start to walk as the car was barreling down the road. The driver wouldn't be able to see her due to her being invisible. Izuku quickly looked around and noticed that there were no heroes at all.
The girl was going to get hit and potentially die.
Without hesitation, Izuku scrambled to his feet and raced into the street as he shouted, "Look out!"
He jumped and managed to push the girl's back and then it all went black.
"Hey! Hey! Wake up! Please wake up!" a frantic female voice shouted from behind him.
Izuku lifted himself off the cement street and looked around with bleary eyes. "W-What?" Izuku groaned.
Izuku turned around and found his vision clearly up to reveal a few things.
The first was a girl.
The girl had long, messy, wavy chartreuse hair, with pink specks, bushy eyelashes, and big round eyes, with pupils that were teal on the outside and yellow on the inside and she was wearing the same clothes that the invisible girl was wearing.
Izuku then noticed that the girl was sitting in a pool of blood with a green car with blood splatter on its front as her hands shook a body that was lying on its side, giving Izuku one of the most terrifying experiences of his life.
Because the body that the girl was shaking, the body was in the middle of a growing pool of blood…
Was his own.
"Well," a new voice said from above him. Izuku looked up to see a diminutive female sitting on an oar with vibrant red-orange hair and bright green eyes with a lock of her hair sticking upward at an angle.
The pale-skinned girl wore a white kimono with printed red flower petals on it, a red obi sash wrapped around her midsection, and red sandals over white socks.
"You were not on the schedule, Midoriya Izuku," the girl stated with confusion in her eyes.
"W-Who are you?" Izuku stammered. "What is going on?"
"Me? I'm Hinageshi," the girl greeted with a sympathetic smile. "A guide to the spirit world…And what is going on, Midoriya-san, is that you're dead."
Izuku blinked and gave a tiny, "What?"
