... Yes, ok, I'm procrastinating with Remember Me, Remember You again, I am trying and I'm about half way through the next chapter, but this one has been eating me and I really wanna get it started!

With it being an OC inserted, I don't mind if it's not your cup of tea, of course not everyone will like it, but I hope you may give it a chance!

Also...maybe some er...spice? Only time will tell ;)

"Fuck everything right now..."

What a day to realise that you haven't been given your orientation pack. At least that was what was flowing through the new BSAA recruit's mind as she impatiently paced back and forth outside the large glass doors separating BSAA HQ from the city streets. Traffic heaved and choked on the road behind her while people scurried by her back, in their not-so-eager commute to work on a Monday morning, and it made her flesh crawl.

"Ugh..."

She glared at the card reader inside the metallic case, as if staring at it would make it beep and allow her entry into the building, but alas, telepathy and mind mimicry wasn't a skillset that she was gifted with. She approached the door again and cupped her hand above her eyes, hoping someone, ANYONE, was loitering in the main lobby. A taxi on the street behind her wildly honked its horn, not at her, but it still pissed her off far more than was deemed necessary.

Finally she saw someone slowly pacing through the lobby, staring at their clipboard, and she rattled the door and palmed the glass.

"Oh thank fuck..."

The person had turned to the noise and was now raising an eyebrow as they...she, this was a woman, approached the door.

The woman unlocked the door and opened it a fraction; "Can I help you?"

"Y-yeah, I'm meant to be starting my first day here but I didn't receive my orientation pack."

The woman, attired in a red leather jacket, a white blouse shirt and blue jeans, squinted her eyes suspiciously.

"Do you know who you're to report to?"

"Erm...no, that was meant to be in my orientation pack too...I'm sorry."

"It's fine, let me ask around. What's your name?"

"Shaundi. Shaundi Price."

"Alright, please stay outside, just give me a moment."

The red leather jacket lady closed the door again, and Shaundi could tell that she was using an earpiece to communicate with someone within the depths of the building. After a minute or so, she came back.

"Alright, you've been given clearance. Follow me."

Shaundi nodded her thanks and stepped inside the glossy floored lobby.

"Puh...receptionists are never doing their job, you know? I'm Claire Redfield by the way. Nice to meet you, Shaundi."

Claire offered her hand to Shaundi, who took it with a light, nervous grip.

"I guess the receptionists expect people to have their ID cards, right?"

Claire laughed lightly, in her musical tone and shrugged.

"We're all meant to, but visitors and external speakers don't. So if we had any big names coming today, we'd look like shit for having an unstaffed reception desk."

Shaundi quietly listened to Claire as they entered an elevator, but she noticed an expression of discontent on her face. Aside from this, she was a very pretty woman; brown hair with hues of red pulled into a sleek ponytail, a smoothly shaped face and dark blue eyes. Shaundi shifted her eyes to the numbers on the elevator, but-

"Sorry," uttered Shaundi. Claire turned to her slightly, and from the corner of her eye Shaundi saw that her eyebrow was raised.

"I feel that I may have annoyed you…"

"What?! Nooooo, no certainly not you!" Claire's tone wasn't at all the tone Shaundi expected, and it eased her nerves. "I am annoyed, but not with you. I'm annoyed with the asshole that's going to be your boss!"

Shaundi held her breath briefly at her words.

"Is…is my boss an asshole?"

Claire laughed lightly.

"Well…no, not really, I only called him an asshole because he didn't send you your pack. He's one of the more casual higher ups in this place." Claire sighed and leant back against the reflective walls of the elevator, and her blue eyes wandered. "He's a good kind of asshole, and also a stubborn asshole. But don't worry, he's one of the nicest guys you'll meet here in BSAA."

Shaundi nodded, relieved, and she glanced back up at the floor numbers…floor nine and still going up?

"Wait. I'm sorry. Redfield you said? Your name?" asked Shaundi, and Claire nodded her confirmation.

"Yup. You've probably heard of my brother though, right?"

"No...I know you as a survivor of Raccoon City."

Claire turned to her with a raised eyebrow, but Shaundi quickly shook her head.

"I'm from Raccoon City. I was born there. That's all. I was twelve when…" Shaundi trailed off and sighed.

Claire's face softened considerably, and she opened her mouth, as if to speak, but the elevator door opened, and a tall, muscular, brown haired man was waiting by the doors with folded arms. Claire thrust a finger into the air directly at him.

"Great job, Chris!" Claire sneered, but her attitude wasn't wholly malicious, and the man, Chris, grinned, shrugged and pushed her hand toward her chest.

"You must be Shau-" the elevator door began to close again, and he slapped his hand against it to send the doors back open, "Shaundi Price."

"Yes." Shaundi stepped out and held her breath. Chris…Redfield? Was he THE Chris Redfield?! Claire's older brother?!

"I'll leave you to it." Claire said, "Might wanna start by giving her the pack you forgot to send off!"

She stepped back inside the elevator and gave a small wave, and Shaundi was met with the reflective doors once again. Chris unfolded his arms and stepped to her side.

"I see you met my sister."

Shaundi turned back to Chris and nodded.

"Yeah, she's the one who let me in."

"Yeah…" Chris chuckled, "After she tore me a new hole for forgetting to send your pack."

He offered his hand, and, like with Claire, she took it lightly, but his grip was warm, welcoming and firm. Not in the way that would normally make her feel uncomfortable.

"I'm Chris Redfield, and I'll be the guy you report to. Pleasure to meet you, Shaundi."

I know this was vague as hell to begin with to have that slight name build up, but I hope you enjoyed it, even a little bit. I might still keep RMRY as a side project while I work on this fic and Promises. I still have a Pokemon fic to complete that totally no-one will want to read coz it's boring as fuck but *shrugs*. Also got some more little gems lined up, AND I ALREADY began my xmas special for this year!

In another tone...I miss HFE so damn much...I've felt so damn lost since I finished it T_T
