A/N: Greetings from your ever-sporadic, random fandom author! This time my obsessive nature has drifted to Full House, and I have determined that there are two reasons I love this show: 1) Stephanie (because her relationship with DJ reminds me so much of myself and my older sister.) And 2) The relationship between Jesse and Michelle (because they have that precious heart-achy love thing going on that I go nutty over).

This missing moment is inspired by the fact that Michelle called Jesse 'Da-da' first.

Disclaimer: I do not own Full House or any of the characters I am writing about.

It was the evening before Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky's wedding, and Michelle was exhausted after a long day of rehearsal and wedding preparation. She couldn't even think about sleep though — she was much too excited for tomorrow. She was going to be the best flower girl ever!

Michelle wanted to learn everything there was to know about weddings. She sat on the living room couch, quizzing Aunt Becky with questions.

"Why can't you stay here tonight?" She asked.

"Well, your Uncle Jesse is not allowed to see me until the wedding."

"Why?"

"It's a tradition," Becky answered. "They say it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before she walks down the aisle in her dress."

"But we'll see you tomorrow, right?" Michelle confirmed.

"Of course," she smiled. "After you toss your flowers to the guests, my dad and I will be following right behind you."

"Why does your dad have to walk you down the aisle?"

"That's a tradition too," Becky replied. "The father of the bride is supposed to give his daughter away at her wedding."

"Give you away?" Michelle scrunched her nose. "He doesn't want you anymore?"

"No no, not like that," she assured Michelle. "It's just a saying. My father isn't actually giving me away," Becky chuckled and pulled Michelle into a side hug. "When he walks me down the aisle and gives my hand to Uncle Jesse, it means that he is giving us his blessing."

"His blessing for what?"

"For me to join your family."

Michelle thought about that. "You already are part of our family," the four-year-old told her.

Aunt Becky gave Michelle a kiss on the forehead. "I am so happy that you feel that way," she smiled. "Now we get to make it official at the wedding!"

Michelle sunk happily into her aunt's arms as Becky pulled her into a big hug. The four-year-old had never had a mother growing up, but now she had an aunt, which Michelle decided was almost as good.

They both looked up when they saw Uncle Jesse coming down the stairs. The groom-to-be smiled and leaned over the couch to give Becky a kiss. "Hey," he greeted his fiancé, before brushing a gentle finger against Michelle's cheek. "How are my two favorite girls?"

"I am so excited for tomorrow Uncle Jesse!" Michelle told him, wide-eyed. "This means Aunt Becky is going to be with us forever, right?"

"You betcha, little Munchkin," Uncle Jesse assured her. "We've all got a big day tomorrow, so it's time for me to say goodbye to Aunt Becky, and for you to go to sleep."

"But I still have so many questions!" Michelle argued.

"You can keep asking questions tomorrow," Uncle Jesse replied. "You've got forever, remember?" He smirked in amusement.

Michelle tilted her head, and then nodded. "I guess that's true," she grinned back cheerfully.

The four-year-old stood up from the couch and gave Aunt Becky one more hug. "Bye, Aunt Becky," she said. "See you tomorrow, I love you."

"Goodnight, sweetheart," she responded. "I love you too."

Michelle started up the stairs. "You'll come tuck me in, right Uncle Jesse?" She asked, meeting his eyes.

"Absolutely."

"Good," the little girl declared, before climbing the rest of the way to her room.

After Michelle's night time routines of washing up and putting on her pjs, Joey, Uncle Jesse, and her Daddy sang their goodnight song and kissed Michelle goodnight. The three parents headed out her door and turned off the light.

"Uncle Jesse," Michelle called before he could leave the room. He turned around, lingering at the light switch after Daddy and Joey had already left.

"What is it, Munchkin?" He asked her.

Michelle didn't say anything, but lifted her hand out from beneath her tucked blanket so she could wave him back over to her.

Uncle Jesse came back and crouched down beside her bed. "You okay, kiddo?"

Michelle rolled onto her side so she could look directly at him. A warm happiness filled her heart when he ran his hand over her hair, causing her whole body to relax.

"Uncle Jesse," she said softly. "When I get married, will you come to my wedding?" She asked.

The dark-haired man grinned widely, and his loving eyes lit up with laughter. "I didn't realize you were engaged," he joked.

"Not now," she attempted to roll her eyes sassily.

"Oh, good," he sighed loudly in relief. "For a second there I was worried you were living a secret double life," he laughed. "Of course I'll come to your wedding," he agreed with certainty. "Someday," he winked.

His arm fell onto her blanket and Michelle reached for his hand, letting his large fingers engulf her own. "Will you walk me down the aisle and give me away?"

Uncle Jesse's face shifted suddenly in surprise. He let out a small breath and glanced over at the empty doorway before turning back to her. His expression was serious now. "Michelle, it's your daddy's job to do that."

"But I want you to do it," she frowned.

"No, no..." Uncle Jesse shifted again, his eyes wrought with emotion. "Only the father gets to do that job, darling. Don't you want your daddy to do it? It'll mean more if he does it."

"How come?"

Uncle Jesse looked like he wanted to cry. "Well," he murmured, "because he's your daddy."

His voice cracked slightly on the words, and Michelle tried to interpret the significance behind his tone. She didn't understand why it had to be her father. He was no more important to her than any of the other men who had raised her.

"But Aunt Becky said that giving away the bride means you give her your blessing. I want your blessing, Uncle Jesse."

She brushed her hand lightly over his cheek the way he had done to her. Michelle hated whenever he looked sad.

"I don't need to give you away for you to have my blessing, Michelle," Uncle Jesse told her earnestly. "When the time comes that you fall in love and decide to get married, I will be the happiest man in the whole world. You know why?" He asked her. Michelle watched him, waiting for him to tell her. "Because I love you, so much."

Michelle could feel his words deep within her heart, and she nodded. "I love you so much," she responded, with just as much sincerity.

Uncle Jesse pressed his head against her neck, and the little girl ran her small fingers through his soft hair. She kissed the edge of his lip sweetly. He kissed her back.

"Hey," he met her eyes again steadily. His expression was gentle. "Even if I don't walk you down the aisle on your wedding day, you'll still always be my babygirl, Michelle," Uncle Jesse whispered into her ear. "No matter what, okay?"

She wrapped her hands around his neck in a hug. "Okay," she agreed.

"I promise," he added.

"I promise, too," she echoed.

"I love you."

"I love you, Uncle Jesse."
