Crisp autumn sunlight sparkled through the curtains of Hailey's bedroom, creating disco baul-like patterns across the warm beige walls. The light hitting her sleepy eyes caused them to lightly flutter open. She scrunched up her face at the initial sting of the light in her weary eyes, but Hailey soon forgot about the sting when she felt soft skin underneath her left hand and the sight of Jay- her partner and bestfriend- still fast asleep on his back with his hand draped over her hip.

As the memories of the night before came flooding back to the front of her mind, Hailey couldn't help the grin that crawled across her face. Jay Halstead had actually kissed her in the dimly lit bar without a care in the World, and she'd silently asked him back to her place to spend the night with just her eyes. Jay was hovering in the apartment car park for her to arrive shortly after, and when she jumped out her car, Jay had swept her into his arms to litter feather-light kisses across her cheeks and down her neck. They'd giggled like love-struck teenagers as they tore clothes off each other and pulled pleasurely groans from each other until early morning.

It was the most magical, dreamy night Hailey had ever had. She'd always enjoyed sex, but it was more just sex when it came to Jay. So much more.

Letting out a yawn, Hailey rose to her elbow and took a second to take several mental pictures of how peaceful Jay looked as he slept. Being in bed next to Jay whilst he slept with nothing but boxers on, it felt like a dream and Hailey didn't ever want to wake up. She was pulled out her daydreaming by a deep inhale and ruslting sheets breaking the silence.

"Morning" Hailey spoke sheepishly, her cheeks rose red.

"Hey, You" Jay smiled sweetly, reaching up to trace his thumb down Hailey's cheek.

The way Jay was looking up at her through his groggy eyes and the soft tone of his morning voice was almost too much for Hailey to handle. The intimacy of the gesture was almost too much for Hailey to cope with. It was something she'd never experienced.

"You stayed" Hailey whispered so quietly, making Jay think that he wasn't actually meant to hear.

"I'll always stay" Jay said promisingly, leveraging himself up to face level with Hailey and press the most tender of kisses to her lips. "Why wouldn't I?"

"You could have just got caught up in the moment and once I fell asleep, you might have realised it wasn't what you wanted. Or whatever last night was, you didn't want it" Hailey was nervously rambling and if it wasn't for the fact Jay could visibly see her freaking herself out, he would have found it adorably amusing.

"Hails" Jay was gentle but sturdy as he called out Hailey's name in a bid to ground her. "Last night was so different to anything else I've ever felt. I'd never not want this ever again"

Smiling with tears brimming her eyes, Hailey focused herself on the bullet wound right next to her left hand as a distraction, but it was anything but a distraction. It just reminded her of the day she thought she'd lost her bestest friend for forever, and that only bought more tears to her eyes.

"What is THIS?" Hailey shakily asked, forcing herself to look up and into Jay's loving; whimsical eyes.

"Anything you want it to be, Hails" Jay breathed out so surely but openly.

Jay was fully in for the long hall when it came to Hailey. He wanted it all: the house, the kids, the endless adventures, the front porch swing in the country side once they'd retired with a big lawn for their grandkids to play on. Jay wanted everything with Hailey. He was keeping himself at a realistic level of expectation though when it came to Hailey. He knew her bruised past, how she ran from anything resembling commitment and affection, because she didn't know how to do it. Affection was foreign and so was commitment. Going off the fact Hailey was suprised he'd stayed, Jay was confident on betting that nobody had ever really stayed for her; so he was leaving the ball in her court. Whatever she wanted to do and at what pace, Jay was ready for it.

He'd do anything for a life with Hailey.

"You're my bestfriend, Jay" Hailey sighed, bringing her hand up to cup Jay's cheek. "But you haven't been just my bestfriend for a long time. I want to atleast try and make us work. I think we both owe ourselves that"

"We both deserve more than that" Jay softly said, kissing Hailey's forhead lovingly. "I don't think I'd be able to go back to being just bestfriends, because I don't think the image of your bestfriend naked is meant to be engraved into your brain"

Hailey let out an ungirly-like laugh at Jay's cheeky comment accompanied by his boyish-charm grin. It was off the cuff, but it was just what Hailey needed. Jay's perfect timing with throwing out jokes or questionable comments was one of the things Hailey adored most about him. It was her only way of being grounded.

"We saw each other naked"

"We saw each other more than just naked" Jay chuckled, joining Hailey in the laughing fit.

Sure they were completely aware of what had gone down the night before, however, neither had really thought about how they'd seen every single part of each other's bodies without clothes. Well, they knew they had, but it hit different when they really thought about it and it was hilarious to them.

"Naked. N.A.K.E.D. Nay-ked" Hailey repeated in several different accidents, making the laughing fit worse and turning them blue in the face.

"You're terrible" Jay wheezed, playfully hitting Hailey's arm.

"Going by the noises you were making last night, I'd say I'm anything but terrible" Hailey quipped mischievously.

"Shut up" Jay threw back. "That's not what I meant and you know it"

"I know, but a girl's gotta find a complement one way or another" Hailey winked with a little giggle.

"I can compliment you. I can show you your best parts" Jay huskily stated, pulling his lip between his teeth in the sexiest way possible. "I'll show you all your best qualities right now, excluding your contagious smile and laugh; because I told you that when we were just bestfriends"

Jay was way too good at getting Hailey right where he wanted her, but she loved how he done it. He didn't just compliment her body when doing it, he told her he loved her personality at the same time. It was a change, and Hailey loved it. It made her turned on ten times as much and quicker.

"Show me then" Hailey said almost daringly. "Show me"

"I'll do more than just show you" Jay almost growled, yanking Hailey ontop of him so she was straddling his waist.

"Jesus, Jay" Hailey lightly chuckled, catching her balance when Jay almost threw her off the bed instead of ontop of him.

"I'dve made up for the damage" Jay wiggled his brows teasingly, raising his hips so his hardening length was pressed deep into her wet core.

"You're insufferable" Hailey groaned, falling forward so her arms where encasing Jay's head.

"You love it though" Jay hummed, pulling Hailey further down to catch her lips in his.

"I do" Hailey agreed between heated kisses.
