Grabbing her things in haste, throwing what little valuable items she had that she cared for, she reached towards her bookbag and out of the apartment without a second thought. Her phone alarm blared a loud sound as she ran down the stairs of her apartment. Just as she was about to run out the front door, she placed an envelope onto the front desk. Inside the envelope was a key to her apartment, the closing money and a note that instructed the owner to keep her things. She was leaving everything behind as she ran outside to catch her lift. The black car was waiting outside for her, and she wasted no second entering the vehicle. The male driver makes a low grunt sound before starting the car, driving away from the semi-nice apartment that the young-looking woman had lived in for nearly five years now. Looking out, she bites her bottom lip before letting out a low sigh as she holds what little she can take close to her chest.
It only took but an hour and 30 minutes to reach the airport, once there, she wasted no time heading towards her floor. It was 7PM at night and the sky was soon to be dark. The sun was no longer in view and the sky was a low-light blue shade, much to her relief. Once she had gotten to check in, she handed her stuff to the clerk and then proceeded to the terminal to find her flight station. Funny enough a woman who was in uniform walked up to her and asked if she could help.
"Do you need assistance, Ma'am?" She asked the young woman.
"Yes, I can't seem to find station I-8." She responded while giving the employee the ticket. Looking down at the paper, she smiles at the woman.
"Tav?" She asked the young look woman. "You have such lovely hair, so long and white, and silky. And your eyes are also beautiful, it is rare to see someone of your background with them."
"Thank you…" Tav responded. The worker gestured her to follow her, to which Tav did. Walking over to her station, she points to the empty area near large windows that show the visible plane.
"The plane will depart in 15 minutes, I suggest giving your boarding pass to the clerk. Have a nice day, Miss. Baldur." She tells her before to do whatever. Doing as told, Tav gives the clerk her ticket and boards the plane. The second she hopped onto the large flying vehicle and took a seat, she felt something was wrong, especially how the worker described her. Taking a moment, she looked around the plane and was surprised at first that there was no one else on the plane. That wasn't common, especially in today's day and age. Reaching down to unbuckle her seat, she pressed down on the bottom to unhook herself, but it didn't unhook.
"No…" She muttered to herself as she pulled at the belt to try to free herself, but it was no use. Soon the walls on the airplane began to twit and turn, turning gold. The chairs before her disappeared, bursting into golden smoke as the floor faded from a dark blue dirt rug into a red vibrant color that contained a soft-looking texture. The lights above her extended downwards, creating lamps of some sort as the bag holders above her head leaked down to cover the windows. Soon she was in a different area, one she did not want to be in.
"Ah, my love, you have finally returned to me."
A voice spoke from behind her. Leaning back and resting her head onto the now foaming soft cushion that was her new seat, she looks to the side and see's…him.
"Astarion."
"Oh, to hear your voice makes my undead heartbeat. You have no idea how I longed to hear you, to be this close to you." He tells her as a chair appears before her. Taking a seat, he undoes his blazer hooks to separate, allowing her a glimpse of his silk red button-up shirt with golden buttons. He had changed over the years, and to her annoyance, it was for the better. The one thing she had noticed was his body, he was a bit bulkier than the last time they saw one another. The suit was tight-fitted on him, wrapping around his body, allowing her to gaze at the newfound man before her. His hair and face were still the same though, however, she did notice his eyes were brown. It would appear that he was wearing contacts.
"It is been a while." He spoke, snapping her out of her thoughts. "And I must say, you look lovelier than ever. Never thought I would say this, but a few pounds on you did wonders."
"I am glad to see that you like how I look," Tav responded, she honestly didn't have a clue on what to do at this moment. Well, that was until a sudden thought popped into her head.
"Where are we going?" She asked. The white-haired vamp before her just lets out a chuckle. A short chuckle before saying:
"Arkansas." He tells her. "And don't worry about your things, I had made a few calls to have them delivered."
"What?" She asked.
"Your landlord, he was so cooperative. I just offered a few thousand and he told me everything about you. How you lived in his apartment building for a good five years, only came out at night, and never talked to your neighbors. Oh, and how you never missed a pay day and never complained about anything. Clearly a watching man, so when you left he gave me a call and I immediately rushed over here. I had to make a couple of calls and cancel this flight for so many people. But honestly, what is a few millions lost when I have you, my dear."
"That fucker…" Tav muttered under her breath.
"Things have changed my darling, isn't how it was two centuries ago. People don't need to be loyal anymore." Astarion tells her as his eyes begin to travel to the very small gap that was the clothes that laid on her legs. Tav didn't have time to dress properly when she left her home, so what she was currently wearing was a plaid skirt that hung a few inches above her knees and a white halter top that revealed parts of her bra and girls as well. Something Astarion did not mind staring at.
"And I must, the change is something that even I can't deny, I quite frankly enjoy." Astrarion chuckles. "I mean, it does sadden me a bit knowing that the world we lived in is gone since you destroyed the brain and freed everyone. Allowing them to evolve and move on, but to go insane and kill and ravage of what we were born from is truly sad. No more different races but humans due to disease, the use of magic was banned and forgotten. Replaced by things such as the internet and Netflix, the world is nothing but a desert of stupid humans waiting to be fed on. Such a paradise for the two of us, wouldn't you agree my love."
"Its awful." Tav responded. "Our friends are dead. The home we build is gone and what is more is that I feel as though I have a target on my back everyday. Well, until today."
"Yes…about that." Astarion started. "Why were you running from me? I thought you would be thrilled when we…you know…" A devious smirk grew on his face at the time they had spent in a certain building. But we will come back to that story a little later.
"Because I don't feel as though we are meant for one another." Tav spoke. "You and I are…beyond words lucky to exist in this new world. But I don't think we should be together in it. You have an entire covenant dedicated to you, where would I fit in to that?"
"Oh, by my side of course. You are my first and only spawn." He chuckled. "And frankly, the truth…I missed you dearly. Plus I have been keeping an eye on you for a while, and frankly you don't know how to care for yourself."
"Pardon? I eat, I am clean and I am not dead." Tav growled.
"Your also broke, in debt and have no home as of today. Trust me Darling, you need me to care for you."
"You know, this is one of the reason's why I chose to avoid you." Tav growled as she tries to stand up from her seat, the but the buckle tightens around her waist, causing her a slight tingle in pain. Astarion chuckles at the sight of her trying to break free. He was glad his spell was working, other wise Tav would have killed them both by destroying the plane they were in.
"Oh darling, you are so adorable. You are going to love it in Arkansas! The mountain view of my home is one to die on, not to mention the lake view is so gorgeous! Plus I live in the forest, so many animals we can feed on. Bread from the purest of the pure." Astarion says in glee as he rose to his feet. Walking over to her, he grabs her by the chin and hold up her face in his directions.
"I want to kiss you. May I?" He asked, but Tav shakes her head out of his hand.
"I don't want to be forced to live in your home."
"Don't think of it like being forced. Think of it as… a new permanent residence." Astarion explained. "Oh, my sweet love you are going to love it! I even gotten you a couple a things to wear."
"You are overly excited for this." Tav spoke, she was a bit frighten by his behavior. But a part of her was a bit curious what he was offering, to be honest her life in the modern day world was quote stressful compared to that of the olden times. She had to constantly change her appearance every 50 years, not to mention find new social security cards to get legally. She was running away from the law and certain groups of people that wanted her dead, while also constantly finding jobs in so many areas. Which is ashamed because she was over qualified for so many positions. It was a difficult life to live in deed, and it was a lonely one as well. She befriended so many people that she knew in their oyouth and watched grow old. Some she even buried.
"Of course Darling, you and I are going to live a great life together. Now sit back and enjoy the ride." He tells her before sitting back down at his seat. Just as he did, the flight attendant enters the room, pushing a tray that had multiple treats and goodies on top. Astasrion however reaches for the bucket of ice that was childing a golden bottle. The flight attendant hands him two chilled ice glass before leaving the area. Once gone, He leans over to press the buckle button. Freeing Tav from her restrains. Standing up, she raises her hand to smack him, but stops mid-way when she realizes that the plane wasn't even on the ground anymore.
"When did we take off?" She ask.
"When I was talking, I needed to get your attention somehow." He chuckled before handing her a glass of red wine, or what she thought was red wine. "Drink with me darling, its going to be a long flight."
"You drink?" She asked as she takes the glass from his hand. Taking a sniff of the liquids, she shrugs her head before taking a sip of the wine. To her surprise, it was infused with blood and the grapes, quite a tingling sensation.
"Not bad, what is this?" She asked before taking a seat, suddenly the plane started to feel like it was…sinking. Her legs began to go numb and her mind started to spin.
"You know, a mixture between wine, blood, some drugs to keep you sedated while we take flight." He explained before setting his glass down. Standing to his feet, he pushes her back in her chair before adjusting her buckle to strap her in.
"You…didn't…have to dru…ug me!" Tav growled before her hand gave out, dropping the glass cup onto the velvet red floor, staining it with a deeper shade of red.
"No, but lets be honest. You were going to kill me. Or worse, try and run away again. I need to make sure your not going to leave me again. Don't worry darling, by the time you wake up, you will be laying on sheets made from the finest silk of this world. Enjoying your new life what you always were meant to be…my wife."
He explained the very word wife shook Tav to her core. Trying to jolt her body upwards, she lands one good hit on his thigh before fighting the buckle, she could feel her heart beating fast as she tries to break free. Only for her mind to start its descent into the darkness.
"Fuck…you…" Tav muttered before leaning back to close her eyes. Within second she was gone, much to the older Vampire joys, somewhat.
