Replies, subjected to their worst nightmare:

lordgemini- When looking at my new interactions, I had to use the even debt reasoning for the selection of Kara, and it also parallels with the reasoning Ethan and Norm teamed up at first too. I am definitely not letting Luna catch a break this season, and I agree that Norm is a big part of the reason she became who she did. Glad you liked Quaoar's inclusion more!

Final six time! Who's up to get launched into the sky?

Episode 16: Snare of Nightmares

Chris, Chef, and Quaoar were all in the dining bunker. Chef was tinkering with large machines inside it, sparks flying all over the place. Meanwhile, Chris got ready to start the episode, Quaoar making himself scarce. "Last time, on Total Drama Karon Island," he opened. "We took our final six and a half to a nice peaceful challenge, where all they had to do was stop a jar of fireflies from cracking." The opening shots were of Ethan stuck in the infirmary, and Angie asking about the challenge being way too easy. "Despite that easy job, we still had some strugglers, and a lot at that." Clips played of Paul's jar cracking due to Jonathan's sabotage, Kayla's jar breaking due to Quaoar, and Jonathan's jar breaking due to Chef and Angie.

"Immunity wasn't really as important as the fact that the two most dangerous people were up for grabs, and in a bitter vote out, Ethan bit it, or he would have if he didn't find the sole-vote idol an hour before." Clips played of Jonathan celebrating his success and the imminent disaster that followed for him. "Ethan ended up sparing Jonathan and repaying his debts to Paul by eliminating his arch-nemesis, which was predicted about ten episodes before that in a notepad from Pencil." Clips played of Kayla being picked for elimination and Paul taunting her as she left. "Finally, Kara agreed to a new alliance. How will things fare for her? Is Jonathan in a good spot anymore? What will our final six encounter today? Find out right now, on Total! Drama! Karon Island!"

Opening Sequence

[Various cameras and other director equipment come popping out of various points on the island. Firstly, it appears out of a large tree, then out of a hole at the entrance to the mines, and finally, shooting all the way from the top of The Chasm.]

Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine,

[The camera zooms all the way up at the top of Mount Karon. Kara is at the top, observing something as Kayla jumps off of the cliff and starts flying downward, opening up a parachute at the very last second.]

You guys are on my mind,

[The camera moves to the beach, where Gretchen falls off of the rocky cliff and lands face first into the water, still splashing around happily anyway. Nearby, Juan is relaxing in the water as Hannah pops up next to him, evidently annoying him.]

You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see,

[Near the beach, the fourth boat is still wrecked and crashed into a rock. Helio lifts the boat out of the water to move it, all while Daniel is still on it, shocked at the boy's strength. Meanwhile, Madison emerges from the boat wreckage as well, and Jonathan offers his hand to help, which she takes begrudgingly.]

I wanna be famous!

[Further into the woods, Paul is narrowly racing against Sarah in a race. The pessimist trips over Sheldon and crashes to the ground, upset over his loss because of it. Flora rushes over to check on the safety of both the boys.]

I wanna live close to the sun,

[At the base of Mount Karon, Randall is decked out in climbing gear, excited to start moving up the mountain. Next to him, Alexa, looks significantly disinterested, sleeping on a log instead of watching.]

Go pack your bags cause I've already won,

[In the forest, Chad is screaming and jumping around to different trees, while Angie stands in the middle of all of it, covering her ears and getting increasingly more agitated.]

Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day,

[As Chad makes more noises, Ethan and Norm watch from a tree in the distance, before both of them exchange an understanding nod. Next to them lies an empty poison bottle.]

Cause I wanna be famous!

[In the dining tent, Chef and Luna are conversing rather calmly, before a strike of lightning crashes down on the tent. Chef runs out, but Luna appears unfazed by it, instead calmly glancing upward.]

Na na, na na na na, na na na na, na na na na na na!

[The camera moves to the dock, where Luna appears out of nowhere, spooking Paul and Kayla. The two glare at her, the former giving up on caring much faster than the latter.]

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous! I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!

[The camera drops down to the mines, where Kara is lurking, and she presses a button that launches out a ball of fire. The fire reveals some sort of odd structure inside the mine, bursting into a big glow that transitions to the fire.]

I wanna be famous *whistling*

[Everyone is circled up at the fire. In the middle of all of it, Jonathan leans in toward Madison, who jumps backward, accidentally landing in Ethan's lap, where she is even more freaked out. Above them is the sign that reads 'Total Drama Karon Island'.]

Things were tense in the morning as the boys woke up. Jonathan woke up first, angry and annoyed about the events of last night. His goals were finally within reach, and everything was turned on him. "I can't believe I failed," he muttered to himself, waking up the other two boys with his commotion. "This is all your fault!" He shouted, pointing at the two other boys.

"Hold on a second," Paul argued. He gestured over to Ethan. "Him, I get, but what exactly did I do? I've been looking for the immunity idols with the same resources as you. I was on perfectly even ground with everyone." He narrowed his eyes at Jonathan. "Your stunts the past few days have shown everyone who you really were, and you thought that since Ethan was going to be eliminated, you could get away with it."

"And, as you can see, I'm very much still here," Ethan finished, jumping out of the top bunk with a perfect landing. "Also, as you can see, I am very much okay now. As a reminder, I could only do what I did because you poisoned me. I never would have had time to make that solution possible otherwise." He let out a terrible-sounding cough. "Okay, maybe I am not all ready to go yet." He climbed back up in his bed. "I'm going to lay down a bit longer, you all head out without me."

Things in the girls' cabin were just as bad. "Listen up, ladies," Angie called out, getting the attention of Luna and Kara. "Our alleged leader is gone now, wiped from the face of existence." She narrowed her eyes at the other cabin. "That means despite getting two of those boys out before this, we're tied up with them. An alliance between the three of us is nearly unstoppable."

Kara hesitated first. "Are we sure that's the best idea?" she asked nervously, remembering her own deal she had made the night before. "I mean, we're really close to the end now, can we really afford to do something that risky?" She shook her head. "I just don't feel really good about it."

Luna shot the curious girl an odd look as she said that to Angie. "Really?" the psychic asked with a skeptical look. Kara seemed worried that Luna had already figured out what she meant by her rejection. "I have no issue with it. In the worst case scenario, we do a tiebreaker. But, those boys will never vote together, I can see that." She turned to Angie. "I want in."

"I don't want to," Kara reaffirmed to the two girls. She then paused. An idea had finally come into her head. "Unless you two would like to team up with me and take out the person who's caused the most trauma so far." Both girls still seemed on board. "Of course, I mean Jonathan." Angie still looked indifferent to that while Luna suddenly shifted her approving expression to a more upset one.

Angie sighed. "Looks like that one's still up for debate," the hothead admitted. She jumped out of her bunk. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll figure it out eventually. Come on, let's go see what they're up to anyway." Angie, somehow the most pleasant after that conversation, left the cabin, while Luna gave Kara a dirty look and walked out herself. The curious girl sighed and followed the two others.

Five of the final six was now outside. At first, there was some tension between the two groups, but Kara was the one to break the silence. "So...can we address it?" Kara asked them all. "There's been a thing going around this place...causing chaos as it calls it." She shuddered. "It was like a demon of some sort. I've seen it twice now. Has...anyone else seen something like that?"

Angie was the only one who looked shocked by that reveal. "His name is Quaoar," Jonathan said in a much different tone than he normally had. "He's not a demon, he was hired by Chris to stir up trouble. As scary as he appears to be, he is just a person at the end of the day. I...saw under his cloak." Everyone was interested in what the brutal lover had to say. "Is he scary? Sure, but we've seen him lose."

"I'd wager against that," Luna said bitterly. "Nothing of that caliber has ever been seen around here." She turned to Kara. "I said on the first night I sensed a dark presence, and that demon was it." Kara looked surprised. This was the first time Luna had spoken to her normally since the incident. "Yesterday, I was taken out of the challenge by it. It...stopped my teleportation, cut me off halfway through without a second thought." The psychic was distraught as she brought that memory up.

Angie sat there taking in all the new information. "Sounds like I'm the only one who hasn't seen this thing yet," the hothead said. "But if Luna's teleportation was stopped, this thing might be way stronger than we think. We should keep our guard up."

"What's the point?" Paul asked with the same nervous tone as everyone else. "Honestly, I'm just hoping that I don't run into Quaoar again...as Jonathan calls him." He shrugged. "None of us have been able to best him, so why bother? We shouldn't figure out a way to stop it. We should find a way to run from it." He sighed as he walked off. "Not to mention I still have you all to deal with."

Paul: "Is Quaoar a threat?" he asked nonchalantly. "Sure. In the grand scheme of things, yes. But, he's either a pawn of Chris, which means he's stoppable, or he's a true demon, which would make him unstoppable. Either way, my focus is still on getting out of the final six and into the final five."

Angie: "Sounds like everyone else has been much busier than me. I guess not going around at night and scheming has its perks." She laughed at her own comment. "But, with the amount of conflict left in this game, I'm pretty much set for the final three. I just need nothing to go wrong today."

Just as Ethan was coming out from the cabin to join the conversation that he hadn't heard, an announcement came over the speakers in its traditional condescending manner. "Hey!" Chris announced, "Who wants something to go wrong today?" Angie let out a distressed scream as Chris mocked her confessional.

"None of us do!" Angie shouted back at the speakers. She began climbing up the pole they were on to try and knock it down. "I'm so sick of this thing!" To stop any further action, Chris made the speakers blare from the control room, causing Angie to wince in pain and fall to the ground, as well as causing everyone else to wince in pain too, most of them covering their ears.

Chris laughed as everyone was tormented for just a second. "Look, we're sort of running out of time for the challenge already, and Chef's real proud of figuring this one out and how to get footage, so I need you all to really like this challenge. Anyway, get to the dining bunker in ten minutes. See you soon!" He let out a small demonic chuckle as he clicked off, leaving everyone very nervous as they began venturing out to their challenge.

Once the contestants got to the dining bunker, they were met with an interesting sight. Six cages were now lined on the walls, three on each side. Chef was nearby with a set of multiple monitors, each linked to one of the cages. Everyone began looking around, trying to see what these cages had to offer. "So," Chris greeted the final six. "I bet you're wondering what these things are."

Paul glanced at one of the cages. A tube was attached to each one, those tubes also extending back to where Chef was. "You know," Paul decided as he fearfully glanced at the cages, "I think at this point in the competition, I've learned not to ask."

Chris frowned at Paul's statement. "Come on!" Chris complained, "Chef spent all night working on these things!" The cook beamed with pride at that. "Anyway, these cages will put you in an individual simulation of your own fears, your worst one, probably, or just something that will mess you up for the rest of the day." He laughed. "Your goal is to face your fear and get out of those cages."

Kara raised her hand. "Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm a bit confused," she said. "First of all, how do these work? Are you really using something in our brain? How does it pick a fear and generate something? This seems like some really advanced technology. Finally, you said something was going to go terribly wrong today." She looked around. "This just seems like a challenge. A hard one, but a challenge."

Chris smiled. "So many questions, Kara," the host said. "All will be answered...well, some. Chef is not disclosing to anyone, especially you of all people, how we got these working. Second, this challenge is great for one of you, okay for four of you, and terrible for one." He gestured to the monitors. "First place gets immunity, and the opportunity to look at all the other contestant's fear trials today. Second through fifth will also get immunity, so you know what that means for our last person out of the cage."

Jonathan grinned. "That means it's a sudden death elimination today," he said with a grin. "Good, I can work with that. I just have to beat one of you. I don't personally care if one of you is scared of something stupid like bears." Meanwhile, people like Luna and Ethan had concerned looks at the monitors, wanting to keep more of their fears hidden.

The host grabbed Jonathan by the shoulders and brought him to the first cage on the left. Chef took Angie to the first one on the right. One by one, each of the final six was taken into one of the cages, before they were shut tight. "Once you wake up, your cage will open. Step out of the cage to get your immunity." Everyone was concerned about the 'wake' part, but it was too late, tons of sleeping gas filled the room, and only the hosts with gas masks on were able to stop it from affecting them. The challenge had started.

Kara had shut her eyes as the gas began pouring out into the cages, but after a minute, she opened them back up again. As she looked around, she was in the exact same spot. The other five had all been in the challenge, notably out cold. She glanced around the dining bunker. Chris and Chef were over at the monitors now. "Um...hello?" Kara asked, hoping for some assistance.

Chris stopped what he was doing with Chef and walked over to Kara's cage. "That's odd..." the host said with a confused tone as he poked at the gas dispenser. "Chef, double check Kara's tube, I think we had an issue here." He turned to the curious girl. "Not working, huh?"

The curious girl took note of Chris's sudden change in demeanor after that last sentence. This wasn't a confused Chris anymore...it looked more angered. "Um, no, it doesn't look like it's working," Kara replied more quietly this time.

A whirring was starting to be heard from outside. Chef was nowhere to be seen anymore. "Kara, there is something serious we need to discuss," Chris said firmly. He looked the girl right in the eyes. "I need you to tell me exactly what happened to my Disaster Dome." This was the first time Chris had admitted it to her, but things had been not the situation she wanted otherwise.

Kara hesitated as she saw Chris's face contort with anger. It was like he knew already. "I..." Kara considered lying, but she felt like that wasn't going to get her anywhere. "I think I broke it," she said. "I didn't want anyone else to be hurt by it, so I snuck out during the eating challenge and I ripped some wires out." Chris looked very mad at this development. "I didn't think it'd still be broken!" Kara defended.

"Well, it is," Chris told her. The whirring outside was now very loud. "Kara, there is a helicopter waiting for you outside. You are to get in it and leave the island." Kara gasped. "That's right, you're eliminated. You should have expected that." The curious girl wanted to fight it, but Chef already came from back outside to escort her out. "You're out of here." Kara had no time to argue as she was thrown into the back of the helicopter as Chef got in the pilot seat to take her out of the game.

Angie woke up in a very different situation. She appeared to be inside a house that she recognized. "Hello?" she called out, hoping to see someone around except her. "This is my house, right?" she asked. She walked around a bit more, checking to see if anything weird would show up. "Is anyone there? Dad?" The hothead paced around the house to see nothing particularly out of order.

As she went to the outside area, she noticed the door was open. "Someone's going to let bugs in," Angie said bitterly, "I'll have to give Dad flack when I see him..." She closed the door, but nothing happened, the door itself just swung open again. "That's not good," she said, constantly trying to get the door closed. No matter what she did, the door wouldn't shut.

Angie sighed as she gave up, leaving the door wide open for anything to enter and exit as it pleased. She then noticed all the cabinets were open too. Actually, every single door was open. "That can't be good." Angie tried many different things with many different doors, but nothing was working. "So...all the doors are just open now, great." The hothead rolled her eyes.

The hothead continued walking around the silent house, which suddenly no longer was silent. She heard a set of footsteps coming from the side bedroom. "Oh, great, I found him." Angie hastily walked through the open door to the bedroom. "Dad, you have to see this, all the doors are open and-" Angie stopped as she saw what was in front of her. This was no father. "You're...not my dad."

Instead of anything she was expecting, a small child was in front of her. The child had a black t-shirt that was way too large on her, and a black skirt that was mismatched from the shade of black from the shirt. "Auntie Angie!" the girl said cheerfully. Angie for a second stopped and stared at this girl. She had hauntingly similar eyes to herself. The black hair that was in a set of pigtails bounced up and down as she waved excitedly.

"Auntie who?" Angie asked, surprised. She then noticed who this girl resembled. "You're...Gretchen, aren't you?" The girl nodded excitedly. "Hi..." she paused. She had something to say, but it completely blanked on her. The small Gretchen ran out of the bedroom through the open door, and rushed for the one that led outside. "Come back!" Angie yelled as she chased the small Gretchen to the door. It was no use.

The small Gretchen had enough of a lead to make it outside, where the weather was turning bad. As soon as Gretchen made it there, a bolt of lightning came down and dissolved her instantly. Angie watched in shock as the girl was now gone. "Auntie Angie?" someone else asked behind her, "where's Gretchen?"

Angie turned around to see a haunting image, three more children. The first had blonde hair and a puffy black vest over a grey sweater, she appeared to be on a child's phone taking pictures. The second had hidden herself in her green hoodie, a bit of blond hair poking out, and the third ran over to the window with an excited look on her face, her red hair bouncing up and down as she stared at the water. Angie froze. She had no clue what to do.

Jonathan appeared in the woods of Karon Island. He took a look at his surroundings. "This is odd..." he said to himself. "Wasn't I just in a challenge?" He shook his head. "I guess that was a weird dream," he said with a shrug. He continued to walk around until something whizzed by him like the wind. Jonathan sighed. "This early? We're really doing this so soon?"

Quaoar emerged from the tree he was hiding in, the cloak on and obscuring more of his face than normal. "I told you I would decide the time of our fight," Quaoar told Jonathan with vigor. He tossed him one of his swords. "You and I will duel now. But, I'll warn you now," he added with a sinister tone, "this is one fight that you're not escaping unscathed."

The brutal lover picked up a sword. "Hold on..." he said slowly. "I was right, we are in a challenge!" He held the sword up to Quaoar. "This can't be right, you shouldn't be here. I'm not scared of you." Quaoar ignored Jonathan's comment and rushed at him. The brutal lover could only hope to block strikes from Quaoar, who hadn't even unsheathed his sword.

The sword demon took the sheathed weapon and swung it at Jonathan's side like a bludgeon. It ended up knocking him down, giving Quaoar another opening, but he retreated back instead. "You're not taking this very seriously," Quaoar said sternly. "How odd. You were the only one who we allowed to know they were in their fear trial. Everyone else is clueless right now."

Jonathan scoffed. "That's exactly it," Jonathan said belligerently. "You've spent this whole time trying to mess with me and since I learned you were just one of Chris's hires, you've been more annoying than anything!" He shrugged. "That's why you don't scare me, you're just sewing chaos. What do you think I've been doing? Ever since that brat stole Madison from me I've been doing exactly what you have! You're not scary."

Quaoar sighed. "Perhaps you have a point," the sword demon admitted. "No one would be scared of an unknown threat that they had no knowledge of." He reached for the scarf around his face and pulled it off, letting it hit the ground. "Perhaps seeing my true form would make you tremble a bit more." With that, Quaoar reached for the hood of his cloak, and a giant dust cloud appeared.

Jonathan watched on horror as the mysterious figure known as Quaoar walked out of the dust cloud. The person who walked through that cloud was not the one he had seen in the cave that day. Instead, they sported a black pair of athletic shorts, a tight dark blue t-shirt, and fiery red hair. "That can't be right," Jonathan said slowly, backing away from the person. "...Ethan?"

Ethan was not actually there. He was busy in his own fear trial, where he had opened his eyes in a dark room. The walls were completely black stone, and the only source of light was a pool of lava that surrounded the chair Ethan was on. He glanced around, and he realized he was sitting on no ordinary chair. This was a throne. His throne. "What the-" he paused. "This is so weird...I felt like I was just doing something else."

He glanced more at the room he was in. The walls were each line with something different. One end was full of swords, bows, and other weapons, even staves for a wizard. The other end was full or armor, most of it either charred, broken, or crushed, but all of it was on display. "Are these mine?" he asked. "I feel like one of my family members has taught me to take better care of weapons."

As he continued to look around, someone walked in from the side, presenting them in front of the throne. "Your graciousness," the person said in a fearful tone. "We just received word that another band of heroes are on their way to stop you." That person was almost certainly a servant. "Of course, we have our defenses replenished, we should be able to decimate them before they even reach the throne room."

Ethan seemed confused at the report he just got. "A band of...heroes?" Ethan asked the servant, who nodded not only furiously, but fearfully as well. "I don't see a reason to hurl all our castle defenses at them. Let them come to me instead. I want to have a chat with them." The servant looked mortified at that statement, but nodded his head again in obedience and left. "Huh, I wonder what they're doing here," he said with a shrug.

To his surprise, these heroes did not come quietly. Instead, they busted down the door in rage, all of them hurling their swords at Ethan at once. The anti-villain was too shocked to do anything, but the throne came equipped with a forcefield. "Coward!" one of them shouted, glaring at Ethan. Ethan caught a glimpse of the hero. The first one was very tall, with bright yellow and red armor. The next one was all in grey, seeming to blend in with everyone else. Another wore mountaineer gear.

One of them stepped forward, this one with sleek brown hair and a black sleeveless cloak. "Look at him, all high and mighty," she sneered. "Up here getting to laze the days away while we suffered for far too long and nothing to gain for it." She armed a spell at the side of the throne, which caused the barrier to shake. "How could you do this to us? You let so many people fall before you!"

Ethan was shocked, but things were finally starting to set in. Ethan recognized all of these people. "So many gone," a water nymph with orange hair said with sadness. "I lost my friend because of you and the other dark lord's bickering. Even your own friend was slain because of you." She sighed. "I thought you would be the one to save us from him, and I came to you for aid. But I'm here now to end you like the villain you are!"

Paul's trial looked fairly simple. He was in a locker room, where tons of other people were running out with him onto a football field. Paul followed toward the back, seeming to just go with the flow for this one. The band played the national anthem, and their football game was started. He sat on the bench, where he was for every game. "Maybe it is time to find a different sport," he admitted. "I'm good, but those two will never be injured at the same time."

He watched the first string quarterback run in a touchdown on the first play of the game. The crowd erupted. With a good extra point, things were already looking really solid for their team. "Guess the best three quarterbacks in this athletic conference are still all at this school," he said. "There's no way they screw up plays like that. Even I know how to get around those."

Then, the unexpected happened. On a freak accident, two linemen crashed right into their star quarterback. Being knocked unconscious almost instantly, the boy was medically evacuated and the backup quarterback was in by halfway through the first quarter. Then, the very next play, the same incident happened to the backup. Everyone was in shock. Was it even worth continuing the game? Apparently it was, as the coach came over to Paul. "Rudan!" he shouted at the pessimist. "You're up. Hope you're still as decent as you were before."

Paul stood up and looked around as he threw on his helmet. They were still in the lead by a solid amount. All he had to do was keep the lead, and if lucky, maybe even expand it a bit. He could hear the murmurs from everyone around him. Not everyone was used to seeing the third string in action. "That's their third guy!" one of the trombonists from the marching band pointed out. "I've never seen Paul play. Is he good? Do you think I could pelt a water balloon from their angle?"

"With your unnerving accuracy, I'm surprised you're not present on that wretched sports field instead," one of the trumpet players shot back. A bunch of the girls shot him a dirty look for saying that, but the people around him nervously laughed and backed him up. Paul shook his head, regaining his focus on the task at hand: making sure he did not meet the same fate as the other two quarterbacks before him.

Much to his chagrin, the two linemen seemed to double in size as he lined himself up for the play. They were actual giants who would cover half the field by laying down. Things were not looking good. "Don't botch this, Rudan," the coach yelled, "or we might have to move you down another level!" A few of his teammates laughed at him as that comment came out.

"I'm good," Paul muttered to himself. He saw the play clock nearing zero. He had to make a play now or things were going to get bad. The ball was sent back to him and everyone started charging at him relentlessly, even his own teammates. Nothing even felt real anymore. "Okay," Paul said calmly to himself. "I'm going to get through that gap."

Luna was in the midst of a heated hand-to-hand combat with someone else. She was doing relatively well for herself, and the other girl seemed unnerved at Luna's bright green eyes and dangerous glares. Luna went for a throat punch, but the other girl absorbed the hit, and slammed Luna with twice the power back. Luna went flying in the air, directly off of the cliff that loomed behind them.

The psychic fell for no more than four feet before hitting a solid blue mat on the ground. "And...cut!" someone shouted. A bell rang, and Luna brushed herself off. She caught a glimpse of the other girl grabbing a sip of water from a bottle nearby. "Everyone take a fifteen minute break, we'll recover and get that cliff scene again once we get back. Nice work!"

The girl came over to Luna with a giant grin on her face. "Luna Lorel!" she said with giddiness that could not have been noticed at all in that fight. "I can't believe I'm fighting alongside the child prodigy! Well, not actually fighting, but you know, making it look like we are, not that I'd ever fight you, but I'm so excited to be in Tiny Kid Battle with you! I'm sure this is a regular role for you but I've never worked with a lead and-"

The girl continued to ramble on and on, and Luna glanced down. She hadn't noticed it before, but she was noticeably smaller than normal. She appeared to be around eight or nine years old instead of her regular age. "Casey," Luna eventually said, cutting off the girl. "There's no need to be that excited. I don't do my own stunts because I want to, it's because I have to." She flashed her bright green eyes. "Not even contacts could replicate these awful colored eyes I was cursed with."

"Don't say that," Casey said gleefully. "I think they're really awesome! Plus, if they find someone who can match you, then you don't get to do them anymore because they wouldn't want to risk hurting you anymore." She smiled. "I always liked your eyes. They make you look really cool, like you're some sort of person with secret powers who can tell the future, like a psychic!"

Luna gasped at that. "Hold on a minute," the psychic lied as she ran out of the film studio. She ran into the bathroom and stared into the mirror. Her eyes were glowing more and more. "Psychic...this isn't right, I was doing a challenge, then I was here..." she nodded. "Of course, the fear trial. Naturally someone with my divine abilities would be able to figure this out. I just need to find the way out."

As Luna looked around the film lot. She saw lots of things that drove out terrible memories. "I always hated this place," Luna said to herself. "Child prodigy...I was a cursed nightmare." She paused. "Wait...that's why there's no way out. I never found a way out the first time, because...all of this...has already happened..." She gasped again. "Oh no, that means...Casey!" Luna rushed back into the film lot to try and find the child.

Out in the dining bunker, Chris and Chef were watching all six cages closely. "Everything is going to plan," the host said as he moved over to the monitors to see how everyone's progress was going. He peered at one that was making substantial progress. Suddenly, a click was heard. One of the cages had opened up. "It looks like we have our immunity winner! Congratulations to-"

Ethan stared down the water nymph, who had a blade she formed out of water pointed at the anti-villain. "Stop!" he shouted, throwing his hand forward. To his surprise, fire shot out of it, and struck the girl down in an instant. She flew back, clambering onto hope in the arms of the mountain man ally. "W-what was that?" he asked in a terrified manner.

"A sacrifice that might have needed to happen," someone else said, stepping into the throne room. They were giant man, near the height of the red and yellow knight. Everyone else cowered in fear, frozen in place, as the new figure flew over to Ethan. "Go on, then, take them out. They were always a hinderance to your success anyway. I'm doing you a favor by giving you this order."

Ethan stared at the gravely injured water nymph. "I'm so sorry...S-Sarah..." his eyes lit up. "This is no throne room," he said with a defiant stance. "This is a cage. I'm trapped here to be my worst fear, a grossly exaggerated supervillain." He sighed. "Admittedly, I was that, but I won't be anymore!" He shot another ball of fire at the figure, but it went right through him.

The figure laughed, its form now taking a closer liking to Jonathan. "Fine." The phantom Jonathan redirected the fireball that phased through him to hit the mountain man, who fell down with the phantom Sarah. "If you won't take down your enemies, I'll do it for you!" The phantom Jonathan began raining fire, hitting a ton of other phantoms and crippling them like the others.

Ethan stared at the lava surrounding his throne. "Fine...I'll just make sure there aren't any more enemies to be made." He rushed forward and leapt in the air, grabbing the floating phantom Jonathan, and with a pull, both of them got pulled into the lava. Ethan braced himself for a painful experience, but nothing ended up happening. Instead, the orange lava turned into a pink gas, and the trial was ending...

Angie regained her focus. "Okay," she said to herself as she found a semi-empty space to hide out in. "I have a bunch of little Gretchens, Sarahs, Hannahs, and Madisons just roaming around...most of them Gretchens." She sighed. "Was it my fault? Am I the reason they are here? What's the deal with that?" She glanced to the kitchen area where a bunch of other Gretchens were running outside, lightning finding all of them.

The hothead took a deep breath and walked out to the kitchen with a stern look. "Okay, everyone!" she called out, "I need all of you in here, now!" All of the tiny children began crawling out of different rooms and finding Angie. Angie inspected the group, and found her initial check was off. It was one Sarah, one Hannah, one Madison, but all of the other children around her were a tiny version of Gretchen.

"Auntie Angie!" The kids called out excitedly. Angie looked flustered at their blind obedience to her. The hothead noticed some of the kids trying to run outside, to which Angie stopped them in their tracks by slamming a door shut. All the kids stopped as the door swung back open, leaving the room in silence, with the exception of a murmur coming from someone in the crowd.

"It's dangerous out there," the hothead warned. "Lots of people are trying to strike you down, but I can't let that happen...at least I shouldn't have. Now I'm here, in a fear trial, where I need to find a way to protect all of you." She turned to the door to outside. "This is either a puzzle or a metaphor, and I don't really have time to deal with either, so we're going to play a game instead."

All of the kids cheered as Angie gave them another order. "Everyone get to a door in the house!" More kids emerged from some rooms, and to Angie's surprise, there were exactly enough kids to cover all the doors. "Everyone, on the count of three, we close this case! One, two...three!" Angie and the other kids all slammed the doors, and to everyone's happiness, the doors stayed closed this time. "Finally..." Angie said in relief. Just then, the oven burst into flames, but instead of typical fire, it became a cloud of pink gas, and the trial was ending...

Kara sighed as she waited in the helicopter. This isn't how she wanted to go out. Sure, she had messed with systems that she had no idea of, but she didn't think it would cost her the game like this. She peered over to the front, where Chef was piloting the helicopter. "Wait, you're flying this?" Kara asked, surprised to see the cook leaving the island as well.

"Someone's gotta take you outta here," Chef reminded her, "and I'm way more qualified to fly this thing than Chris is." He glanced out the window. "We'll be making our stop shortly, you just have to hold on and wait." Kara sighed, deciding she wasn't going to get much conversation out of the cook. "You know, you certainly caused a mess down there, wrecking my stuff."

Kara's interest was peaked now. "Are you saying that you actually built that disaster dome yourself?" she asked in an excited tone. "Are you like, secretly some sort of tech whiz and can make super cool contraptions?" Chef looked like he really did not want to answer that question specifically. "Even today, you built the fear trial capsules and are gathering footage for all of them."

The curious girl paused. "Wait a minute...there's no reason for mine to not have worked if you were going to eliminate me anyway. Why do the big setup? I'm not even afraid of being eliminated." She glanced out the window again. "Wow, we're...sort of super high up right now, I just realized that...I am scared of that for sure." The realization came to her relatively quickly after that. "Oh, I get it now."

Kara looked around the helicopter for a parachute of some sort, but found nothing. As she did, her suspicions were further confirmed. "You're just driving in circles over Karon Island. I can just jump back down...whenever I want." She took a deep breath. "Okay, here goes nothing." Kara jumped out of the helicopter, trying her best to not scream in terror. As she fell through the clouds, they went from white to pink, and more into a gas, and the trial was ending...

Paul watched as the giant opposing linemen sized him up. "I have to get through that gap," he told himself again. The ball was hiked back to him, and Paul rushed through the middle, watching the giants sweep away the rest of his team. The two giants then pushed against each other, sandwiching Paul inside painfully. The pessimist grunted as he fell to the ground. He had only advanced three yards. That wasn't enough yet.

"Rudan! Stop screwing around!" the coach shouted as Paul pulled himself up. "You got three more downs to get to that endzone or it's over for you!" That wasn't very fair to Paul, he only needed to get a first down, but the coach had more expectations for him than that. Paul stammered back to the line with only a few seconds left on the play clock. He was dizzy from the impact, and he was losing focus quickly.

Another shot, and a very similar event came to pass. Paul had made it three more yards, which was nothing in the grand scheme of things, where he needed about sixty more. Paul stood up more quickly this time to have time to look forward. He saw the daunting distance around him. "What's the point?" he lamented. "I'm going to fail here, I might as well stop trying now."

Third down, and three more yards. Paul was a short distance from a first down, but that wasn't what Paul's coach wanted. Paul was gasping for air, his legs shaking as well. Nothing was able to get through these giants. It was unfair, all of it. "You can do it!" someone from the stadium called out. Silence filled the area. "Have hope!" Paul looked to the side to see someone familiar there, a girl with a flower in her hair.

"She's right," Paul said to himself. "I can't give up." The ball was hiked back to Paul, and this time, he went as fast as he could through the middle. The giants attempted the sandwich play again, but the pessimist was through the gap before they made impact this time. With no other resistance, he got to the endzone, the stadium erupting in cheer. Smoke came out of the machines around the place, and it quickly turned to pink gas, and the trial was ending...

Jonathan was frozen in place at what he saw. Quaoar had transformed into Ethan like it was effortless. "What? Are you surprised?" Ethan asked, still in Quaoar's voice. "You spoke to them all this morning. Everyone else has seen me and dealt with my wrath." He laughed. "Now, you will face me." He unsheathed the sword that he had kept to his side for so long.

Jonathan stared at Quaoar in his 'true' form. "This...that's not right," Jonathan said nervously. "You aren't my worst fear. Neither is Ethan, and the two of you combined certainly isn't it either." He sighed. "Fine, I can fight you, but don't expect me to go easy! You've taken the form of someone I can't wait to put a beating down on!" Jonathan ran forward, but as he swung, Quaoar vanished and appeared ten feet behind him instead.

Quaoar dodged every single strike Jonathan attempted with ease. The brutal lover wasn't even close to being able to land a hit. "You haven't gotten it, have you?" Quaoar told him. "You're not here to face me, you're here to face defeat at my hands!" Jonathan let out a yell and kept trying to land a hit. Quaoar laughed. "Try all you want, but you truly aren't going to succeed, or even land a hit. It's futile."

Jonathan kept trying, but the futility of the situation was finally coming upon him. "I guess maybe I fear that...not them, but losing to them. I have gone so far, and it can't be for nothing..." Quaoar finally took the chance to swing, pushing Jonathan way back. Eventually, Jonathan dropped his sword. "Okay, you win," he said with a defeated tone, "just...make it quick."

Quaoar laughed. "Of course." The sword demon rushed for Jonathan, swinging at his head. When the sword connected, Jonathan noticed he was very okay still. "Remember," Quaoar reminded him, "I am still out there. You and the others are in for a treat!" As Jonathan glared at Quaoar one last time, he noticed that the air around him was turning into a pink mist, and the trial was ending...

Luna burst into the set again, very terrified. "Please, don't be happening yet, don't be happening yet..." She rushed to try and find her friend, but things got bad as she heard the screaming and anguish coming from the back wall. "No, I'm too late...again." She looked ahead, and saw someone with equally bright blonde hair screaming at a director. She had bloodshot eyes and disheveled hair.

Luna watched in horror as the breakdown happened. "This is exactly what happened last time, Mom," she said quietly. Luna looked to the side as Casey's mother had taken her away from the area. Luna then saw what was happening. "Okay, I have two choices...I can save Casey by getting her, or I can save my Mom's career by going up to her now..." She sighed. "And I can only do one of those."

The psychic was not happy at the choice she had to make. She turned to her mother. "She was a lost cause anyway, I have better shot with this." Luna rushed for the door that Casey and her parents went through. "Wait, stop!" she called out, getting Casey's family to turn to her. "You...you can't leave!" Luna pleaded, taking advantage of her new child-like form. "If Casey leaves...I won't have anyone. I already didn't have her..."

Casey's mother glanced through the door, watching Luna's mother continue her breakdown. "We can't leave her all alone, Adam," she told her husband. "Why don't you come with us? I'm sure it will be safer for you, at least until the drama here has halted." She grabbed Luna's hand. "Come on, we can get away from all of this now." The four of them all walked out with smiles on their faces.

Luna smiled. "Maybe this isn't so bad," she said to herself. "I didn't really win a fear trial at all, but I'd rather be happy here than anything like the real world has for me now." Suddenly, as she got outside, the heat was crashing down on her. The sun's rays were visible, and they slowly started going pink. Everything was going to a pink gas. "No!" Luna shouted desperately. "Keep me in here! I don't want to leave!" It was too late for her though, as the trial was ending...

Luna woke up in a cold sweat in her cage, where the other five were already out of their cage. "What...what happened?" Luna asked groggily. Suddenly, the thoughts of her fear trail were coming back to her. "Wait...no! Put me back in there! I didn't want to leave!" She had a ton of anger and desperation in her eyes, all stopping as she silently fell to the floor in grief.

"Okay then..." Chris said, staring at the psychic. "Well, I suppose off to the challenge results. Five of you completed your fear trials, but the fastest today was Ethan!" The anti-villain beamed at his success. "That means Ethan gets access to your fear trials, so I hope things weren't too weird in there!" Jonathan looked very nervous by that notion. "And, since we had to pull the plug on her, Luna is out of the game." Luna was still motionless. "Luna?" Chris sighed. "Chef, let's get this over with." Chef nodded as he picked the psychic up without any resistance.

Everyone went up to the Launch of Shame with Luna, who was sitting silently on the Launch of Shame. "Is she going to be okay? Kara asked. "I mean, something obviously messed her up in there!" She sighed. "Not to say that she wasn't already going a little nuts before the challenge today, but this is worse than normal. Shouldn't one of us help her?"

Chris let out a laugh. "Ah, Kara, this is probably the best help she's gotten." He gave the psychic a wave. "See ya later, freaky girl!" Chris hit the button on his remote, and Luna was launched into the sky. "The rest of you can rest up for tomorrow. Ethan, the confessional tonight, instead of the votes, will be showing the fear trials. You are permitted in there to watch." Ethan smirked as he left for the confessional.

Ethan: He had just finished up the last one. "I learned a lot less than I thought I would," he admitted. "Angie was concerned about her leadership, which was my fault, Paul's seemed more personal. Kara's was...interesting, but not really my problem. Luna's was the scariest. Chris pretty much ripped her out of what looked like her perfect ending. But the most interesting was Jonathan's. Quaoar's been here. I need to have a chat with that guy."

Chris and Chef were on the dock at the beach, where Chef was still standing stoically, but Chris was hopping on a very expensive-looking boat. "We're down to five!" Chris announced excitedly. Angie, Ethan, Jonathan, Kara, and Paul! Who's going to make it to the next night? How does Ethan know about Quaoar already? Find out next time, on Total! Drama! Karon Island!"

Ah...Luna. One of the toughest characters to re-write after knowing what she became. In all honesty, her appearances on future seasons helped shape her into more of who she is now. I added a lot more stuff about her film career, which was only briefly mentioned in a future season. I don't know if her backstory is ever fully revealed. But, she definitely grew out of Dawn-clone this time around, and she's set up great for future seasons. Let's quickly talk about each trial today and the other changes!

- The opening scene has the other five discussing Quaoar. Since he's more prominent this season, I just needed everyone to know about him, which now everyone does.

- Ethan's trial was completely revamped. I wanted to play on his more practical fear of being a villain than his funny one, which is still present in Submerged. This also let him deal with an emotional battle, like I did in a few others.

- Angie's was slightly redone to not only play on her original fear of dealing with younger kids, but to also play on her concerns about failing as the team leader. It also sets up a plot for next season, some of which you'll see at the end of this one.

- Kara's trial was kept roughly similar for the sake of consistency. I hated a lot of the other trials, but I found this one good- it sets up that she's afraid of what she did, but it's just all building back to her fear of heights which we knew about.

- Paul deals completely with his own personal life to add more depth to his character. I had two cameos in this one. If you've finished the Karonverse, then you know who those two other people were. Anyway, it also added more in his fear of failing and conquering a bit of his own pessimism.

- Jonathan's was one I kept the same for the most part. I really liked this one, and it was plot essential to keep it relatively the same. A lot of things regarding this fear trial will be kept for next chapter to fix up.

- Finally, Luna's dives more into her backstory than just being a psychological nightmare. Knowing what I know about Luna now, it made more sense to do this and let her be broken down by being given something good for once and then ripping it away from her. I do not feel bad about this.

The final sendoff with Chris is setting up for a giant change for next chapter, where things need a lot of help. This next episode and the finale are the ones that need the most help now that this is done. Like, I'm shattering plotlines next week. Anyway, leave a review letting me know what you thought! Five chapters to go! See you next week!
