John and Vale rushed up the stairs, each step they took and skipped counted as they could feel the building vibrating due to the multiple explosions hitting the headquarters.

It wasn't the first time that they arrived into situations short of any information, so this was nothing new to them. They were just planning their next move.

"Once we are out of here, we'll decide where to as we go along." she gasped as she stopped at one of the staircase's doors. She looked into the glass portion of the door. The place was their destination and true to General Nickle's world, it was completely deserted and void of any robots.

"In here." She nodded to the door, arming herself with her lightsabre and her shield. "Get ready."

Without a moment's hesitation and using her shield, she bashed the door wide open, quickly propping her shield over herself while John provided covering fire.

"Clear." She sighed, lowering her shield after a brief moment of checking. The illuminated bay was thankfully empty, littered with only massive empty boxes that used to hold weapons, ammunition and supplies.

"Those robots must have been concentrating their attack in one area because there are no signs of any battles here. Didn't even bother coming in here," she noted to John. "I guess those robots knew that the base was underpowered and under-protected."

They then quickly stepped down from the loading-unloading platform and onto the tarmac where the army would park their massive trucks.

"I'll get Tom out," John stated, reaching into his pocket and fishing out a communicator-like device. Just like Vale's device, it started glowing and instead, a clear and kind male voice spoke out.

"Good morning, sir. What can I assist you with today?" the device spoke politely.

"Hi Tom, we need a getaway vehicle today. And judging that we are in a military base surrounded by a massive number of robots, we need a car that can go fast while handling big bumps while providing protection."

"Ah, an armoured Jeep Trackhawk would make a fine getaway vehicle today, sir." The device responded. "Useful for resisting firearms and its drivetrain is made indestructible."

"Great. Bring it out and we will gladly be on our way."

John then stuck out his device, facing towards the ground. And just like how Eve managed to store the weapon, John's AI companion glowed onto the tarmac and out came a blacked-out Jeep, fitted with extra fog lights on the roof and snorkel, in case it had to handle the beaten track.

"Get her started, I'll open the shutters." Vale said, making her way to the switches on the walls "With the fighting that is happening out there, we don't know what to expect."

The shutter then whurred into life, slowly raising itself. Vale made her way to the car, sitting on the passenger side while John took the wheel.

"Do you think we drive out into a warzone or something?" John asked Vale, the gunfire and fighting that was ensuing on the outside. Despite it not fully open yet, they were able to see what was under the shutters and straight away, an orange light peered through. Squinting from the brightness, they could see the sun was setting on the horizon and daylight was fading once the shutters had fully opened.

"There's only one way to find out.." Vale replied, facing back onto the tarmac ahead as the car launched them into the unknown world.

Despite the massive and visually destructive onmics may appear to be, their combat was primarily limited to just shooting out pulses and explosives. The battle of the army base Headquarters therefore didn't take too long to win.

Slowly, the Strike Team made their way down within the building, taking out many onmics and assisting any soldiers in the fight.

They finally found themselves in the lobby where the elevators would take them down to the lab. From there, they will extract the army personnel, take them somewhere safe from here and plan their next move to end the Second Onmic Crisis.

"Get ready for more resistance!" cried out Soldier 76, taking cover behind the elevator's doors, expecting more incoming fire.

With a faint ding from the elevator, they reached the lab, where they expected it to be filled with a lot of those onmics and a lot of firepowers.

What only greeted them was the remains of the onmics remains scattered around the lobby and the main entrance of the lab. The remaining soldiers were sitting down with their backs against the walls, resting and catching their breaths while some were attending to those who needed medical attention.

Reaching the steps of the lab, it was then that their presence got the attention of General Niccle, who was sitting down in one of the swirly chairs resting from the fight.

"Ah, the rest of the strike team. Thanks for helping clear up there. We thought we would be goners." he chuckled as he shook hands with the closest person who happened to be Soldier 76.

In the meantime, Mercy and Tracer took this chance to help the remaining soldiers. Mercy took care of the injured while Tracer escorted the rest into the elevator.

"Glad you are okay." Jack complimented. "You guys did not do so bad yourselves."

"Yeah, those Nulltroopers can put up a fight. But you guys came in at the right time." As they were heading towards the elevator where Tracer and Mercy were waiting, the General had something else in mind.

"Is the bomb safe?" He questioned.

"What bomb?" Reaper retaliated, who was overhearing their conversation. He was the type of person who was not interested in personal conversations, but the way he was hearing things, got his attention.

The General scoffed. "I handed these two people a device that could potentially change the course of this Onmic War." General Niccle explained. "This device can deliver powerful explosion that could wipe out a good number of Onmics, and only onmics, since we don't want to destroy any infrastructure."

Now in the elevator, their simple extraction mission just got way more complicated.

"These two said they were part of the strike team. Are you sure they are not you?" General Niccle was very distressed about losing a weapon of war to some unknown folks.

"It's only the four of us." Mercy itlerated. "There is no one else. Where did they go?"

"They went through the emergency pathway which leads to the loading-unloading bay, which should be cleared out."

"How do they look like?" Tracer asked next.

As the General was explaining the description of these two mysterious individuals, Reaper communicated to Widow.

"Widow, be on the lookout for two individuals. They have a dangerous weapon. I'll update you as we go along."

Widowmaker was pretty much set up on the cliff. After the strikeforce took their leap and into the chaos below, she came from her spot on the tree down right to the very edge of the cliff. Compared to her last position, she was more comfortable with where she is now. Solid Ground, a good view and a lot of potential targets, mainly the Eye's onmics.

However, her priorities changed when she heard Reyes, or as she would like to call him, Reaper, came into her comms.

"Widow, be on the lookout for two individuals. They have a dangerous weapon. I'll update you as we go alone."

As she was scoped in, she was now on the hunt for two individuals, which was easier said than done as there were many highlighted targets on her recon visor's head.

"Where are they headed?" The widow asked as she focused on the strike team coming up in the elevator.

"Headed towards one of the adjacent buildings across us."

As soon as Reaper replied, she could hear an engine roar coming from one of the buildings. She quickly set her sights on where the noise was coming from. She then saw two individuals in an SUV riding out of one of the buildings nearby.

"Found them," Widow whispered, her fingers readied on the trigger of her rifle.

"Consider them hostile. Take them out, but check your fire." Reaper cautioned. "Let the strike force know as well."

Widowmaker switched her comms over to strike force.

"Sojourn, vehicle speeding towards your location. Two individuals. Potentially armed and dangerous with a weapon on interest."

Meanwhile, on the surface, the battle of the army base was underway. At first, the strike force was doing well against the massive numbers of onmics, mainly Nulltroopers. They were clearing the perimeter around the headquarters and the surrounding backstreets and taxiways that lead towards the stricken runway.

However, the onmics were always prepared for any upcoming resistances, because more of these drop pods fell straight from the sky, containing more onmics to replace their slain counterparts. This was now turning the battle in their favour.

Along the taxiways of the air base, Sojourn and her force pushed back the onmics at are fair distance, which is enough for an air extraction, since the number of destroyed onmics kept being replaced with even more onmics.

Now her task as acting commander of the strike force became even harder when her comms from a French blue-skinned sniper alerted them to a concerning matter.

"Sojourn, vehicle speeding towards your location. Two individuals. Armed and dangerous with a weapon of interest."

Sojourn gave a frustrated groan after downing an onmic. Even with air support thanks to a girl in a MEKA mech and another in a Raptora Suit, they were still being pushed back by The Eye, meaning that their effort into eliminating the threat was wasted.

And now, she is being alerted to another serious matter on her hands. But it didn't take long to find the source of her upcoming headache.

A blacked-out SUV was seen roaring down from one of the warehouses on the base. It came barreling towards them at speed.

Using her upgraded cybernetics, she quickly took note of the black Jeep. And two things caught her attention. One was the fact that the vehicle had wheels, compared to modern-day hoverwheel technology. The second was the vehicle was driven by a dark-haired individual with a brownish skin tone. Both made eye contact with each other as the Jeep drove away.

Nevertheless, she opened fire at the windscreen of the vehicle, only for her bullets to bounce off it. However, this brought out a reaction in the driver of the vehicle as it caused it to change course and dive off the taxiway and onto the backstreets of the air base.

"Strike Force, look out for a black SUV heading towards West of the base. Engage targets, but check fire. They are carrying a weapon of interest which needs to be intact."

With that, some members of the Strike Force broke off and went to engage the runaways.

"Holy crap!" Vale screamed as she veered the car sharply to the left. Even though they were in an armoured car, she didn't want to risk a bullet coming through her head. She wanted to go home in one piece.

"Merde." John could only swear in his half-native tongue, holding on for dear life on the grab handle in the passenger seat.

"Eve!" Vale cried out. "We need to get out of here. Find us a way out."

"Yes, Vale." The halo device on the dashboard responded.

As Vale to another sharp turn, this time to the right, something hit the Jeep. Something sharp and strong.

"Vale, I think we are taking fire!" John alerted his counterpart as looked to the right and on the rooftops of the more warehouses and the hardened aircraft shelters that housed the Dutch's fighter jets. There were a couple of people, crouched on the rooftops, aiming their weapons down at them.

Soon, the car was taking incoming fire. The right side of the car began being pelted with bullets and even a couple of arrows. Thankfully, the car's thick armour managed to repel the attacks.

John, meanwhile, went to the backseats of the Jeep, arranging some weapons to retaliate in case of a worst-case scenario, thanks to Tom's arsenal of weaponry kept within him.

"Alright, rifle, RPG, sub-machine." John was kneeling in front of the various spawned weapons of choice, mentally preparing for any case scenario of where they might need to fight off the onmics and these strike teams. He wasn't sure, but from the intense sounds of bullets raining off the car, they weren't friends for sure. His foam-tip arrows and Vale's glowing sword may help win a few fights, but not a platoon of soldiers.

Without warning, the car took another sudden right turn, throwing John to the left side of the car, and hitting his forehead on the C-Pillar of the car.

"Ow!" John cried out in pain.

"Sorry!" Vale cried from the front, looking through the rearview mirror. "The road took a turn."

As soon as she turned her attention back to the road ahead, she gasped. She saw two of the strike force right in front of her. One was a very muscular man with a gigantic metallic fist and the other silver and green cyborg dressed like a ninja.

Vale got only a second to look at them before the big-fisted man leapt in the air, using his oversized robotic fist as momentum. The cyborg ninja whipped out his katana behind his back and aimed down the car using his blade, before darting towards her.

Vale only had seconds to react. She thought of her options. She could either go left or right, but couldn't miss them, maybe by two or three metres, but not by much. She could go around, but the time used to go around could be wasted trying to speed past them, so that was out as well.

She was looking for other options that lay ahead. Then to her left, she saw a warehouse with a shutter that was still down. She took another look at her possible escape route. Then looked at the two coming towards her. For a brief moment, she thought to herself.

Don't think Vale, just do.

Then without hesitation, she turned the wheel towards the shutter, the man with the fist hitting the ground, shattering behind her, while the cyborg kept on the chase.

The warehouse, like most buildings on the base, was also targeted by The Eye. The roof was full of holes where most of the artillery strikes hit the warehouse. Because of this, most of the cardboard boxes that stored mostly food and surplus for the army were thrown about, leaving the interior in was messy state.

This did not stop Vale and John from driving through the mess though.

Despite the fact they had lost the gigantic fistman, they still had a robotic ninja chasing them. Zooming past the many shelves and smashing past cardboard boxes that fell from them, Vale was working the Jeep overtime.

"Do you see the green robot ninja, John?" Vale looked to the backseat through the rearview mirror. "He's right behind us."

John was getting his bearings after another sharp turn Vale took into the warehouse.

"What ninja?"

Vale then looked at both of her wing mirrors. Then saw the reflection of something green, white and silver.

"There! He's on top of those shelves behind us!"

John looked out of the window and saw a green metallic ninja sprinting on top of the shelves running in the same direction as them. And he still had his blade out.

"The Dragon becomes me!" The ninja cried out, taking his chance now and leaping from the shelves to the Jeep below.

As he was descending towards the vehicle, he could see the window of the backseat driver roll down a little and something came out. In the next moment, he was staring down the barrel of a grenade launcher.

The ninja, who already had unsheathed his katana, brought the blade forward in front of him, ready to deflect the grenade. To his surprise, the nozzle of the launcher moved away from him and towards his left.

That was when John fired the shot. The grenade that left the barrel didn't detonate but created a flash instead.

It wasn't a grenade. It was a flashbang. And it was a big one.

Temporarily blinded and deaf, he found himself outplayed and he landed on the hard concrete ground instead of striking the Jeep, his katana falling right next to him.

Recovering himself, he stood up and saw the Jeep drive off the warehouse's loading dock, scraping as it got air for a few seconds.

The cyborg sighed as he collected his katana and made his report back to Sojourn.

"Whoa! Sorry about that one!" Vale cried as the Jeep leapt from the loading dock of the warehouse. "Nice flash back there by the way!"

"We can save the thanks later!" John was looking out of the window and towards the sky. "We aren't out of the army base yet!"

John was referring to the flying strike team that was just above their heads. If their previous encounter with them was bad enough, this one looked like they weren't playing around anymore.

He was looking at three targets now. One was in a flying suit with a rocket launcher, the next one was a white robot. John wasn't sure. But the last one caught his attention.

"Is that a girl in a…" John squinted for a closer look. "some robot suit?"

John didn't get an answer though. As soon as he finished his sentence, the flying-suit person launched something out of her wrist and flew right into the ground right next to the Jeep.

"Concussive Blast!" John warned Vale as the Jeep got rocked hard by the force of the explosion. "Lose them!"

"I'm trying!" Vale again looked for a way out of this sticky situation. Now they were approaching the runway, where the number of onmics was so vast that it was impossible to count. Vale saw them marching their way towards the building.

"Man, whatever they want in this case, they want it bad," Vale told herself quietly. Then she got a look at what they were firing at. Those robots were firing at a small squadron of people that are fighting back against the robotic invasion.

"Those are like the ones chasing us," Vale told herself. Then something clicked in her head.

"Wait, if those tin cans are after those people chasing us, can we lose them if we head their way?"

Vale turned the steering wheel down the runway and towards the onmic army.

"Heads up. I got an idea!"

John looked out of the windshield and saw themselves barreling towards the massive wave of robots.

"You crazy?!" John panicked.

"They are so fixated on those people chasing us, I don't think they will care about two idiots in an SUV," Vale explained her plan. "We will lose them if those robots fire back at them."

"What if they kill us?!" John added.

"One way to find out." Vale pressed the accelerator pedal hard as the vehicle sped towards the invading robots.

As they got closer, some of the onmics began to recognise that a vehicle and three of the strike force were approaching them, so they opened fire on all of them.

"Vale, this is a not good idea!" John was looking at all of the bullets bouncing off the car.

"Let me know once we lose the air," Vale instructed John, who retreated into the backseats. "Eve, a status update on that map?"

"There's a public road at the bottom of the base, we need to do a bit of offroading to get there."

"Pharah, , Echo, status on the SUV?" Sojourn spoke through the comms.

"It's heading towards the onmic forces!" alerted Sojourn as her mech got rocked by more incoming fire. "And we are taking heavy fire from them!"

If Sojourn had an aneurysm for every problem she had right now, now would be a good time for that aneurysm to come through. She can understand her strike force had to make a retreat due to the overwhelming onmics numbers, but losing a potential weapon that could cause mass destruction if in the wrong hands by two unknown individuals, she was not going to risk it.

"Keep on them! We can't lose that weapon!"

While her strike force was retreating, Sojourn made her way towards , Pharah and Echo, managing to take down some onmics along the way. Sliding across and leaping onto a jet blast deflector, she could see the black SUV racing down the runway and being chased by the flying trio. She could also see that the onmics were now focusing their fire on all four of them.

As she perched on the structure, she used her railgun to take a couple of shots at some of The Eye's bots to get a clear view of the blacked-out Jeep. And once the vehicle was in clear view, her railgun began to power up, its barrel splitting in the middle. Her eyesight enhances her environment and her target.

"This ends now." Her eyes and gun synced and locked onto the driver of the SUV.

An explosion rocked the jet blast deflector below her, not only causing her to lose sight of the Jeep but also having her tumbling down towards the hard tarmac below.

"Ugh!" She grunted, her robotic legs taking most of her fall. She looked up and saw the number of onmics that were surrounding her was greater than before.

And if that wasn't bad enough.

"Sojourn, we are taking too much fire here!" Echo told her over the comms.

Then add icing on the cake.

"Sojourn, rally the strike force back to the HQ. Extract is here in 2 minutes!"

Sojourn gave out a frustrated cry, opening fire at the onmics as she made a retreat back to her strike force.

" , Echo, Pharah, fall back to HQ. We are leaving!" She ordered the three.

Yeah. A cure for her any sum would be good right now.

"Hey, it's working! They're breaking off!" John looked and saw the three flying flying off towards the HQ. Then the vehicle got rocked with more incoming fire. "Let's get out of here!"

"Hold on!" Vale turned the wheel violently away from the army of robots, straight off the runway and down the hill. The ride down was extremely bumpy thanks to the uneven surface which made controlling the vehicle even harder.

The armoured Jeep made a hard impact once it reached the street below, the front bumper made sparks as it took most of the force. For the occupants inside, Vale was lucky that she still had her seatbelt on. But the same thing can't be said about John.

"Is it over?" John got up from the floor of the cabin, holding his head as his eyes were rolling everywhere.

"Yeah. Looks like we lost the robot army." Vale checked the wing mirror and saw that there were no onmics behind them. This got a sigh of relief out of her partner, now out of his daze state, made the move and jumped into the passenger seat.

"So where do we go from here, Eve? " Vale broke the silence, asking her trusty artificial device. "We can't stay here for too long."

"Based on what the General has mentioned, we are currently in the Netherlands. Secondly, we have four options." Eve responded. She then displayed the map and routes via hologram. "Britain, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany."

"But we also need to lay low as soon as we can. And people will get suspicious of a blacked armoured Jeep." John added.

"If we want the fastest route to any of the countries, it's Germany," Eve suggested.

John and Vale looked at each other.

"Let's then get ourselves some Currywurst. I'm starving." John cheerfully gushed.

"You heard him, Eve. Germany it is."

With that, they quickly made their way out of the stricken town and towards Germany.
