Episode 1

(Opening cutscene) Game where fans are hyped to play as Miles Edgeworth opens in the titular character's office…with a prosecutor who is not Miles Edgeworth. Tease fucks.]

"….I see we are starting early with the big-fat-nothing sins this game. I'm just gonna leave it at that." One sin added.

(Edgeworth visits his office at two am for any reason. We later learn he investigated two murder mysteries back to back right before this after getting off an international flight. Edgeworth, you work too much.)

"Yeah, I agree. That shit is ridiculous…though not quite as ridiculous as you yelling at the screen." One sin added.

(Edgeworth tasked Gumshoe-a detective-with keeping his office clean. Something tells me that's not in his job description, but anything for a few extra bucks, I guess.)

"Who said he was doing it for the money or because he was told? He did it out of his own will and for free. Because Gumshoe is that loyal to Edgeworth. How can you play this series and not even figure that out?" one sin added.

(Edgeworth took a month off abroad after the events of bridge to the turnabout, but in that case, he'd just gotten back and wasn't officially working as a prosecutor. Seems like a waste to show up for only three days after chartering a private jet to get here. Was he put on immediate leave for imitating a defense attorney?)

"What exactly is the sin here? Edgeworth was already working abroad in bridge to the turnabout. He chartered a private jet to get back solely for Phoenix, because he was told he was dying. He stayed for the case, but after it wrapped up, he had to go back to Europe to continue his work. That's how emergencies in the middle of a job work." One sin added.

(It took almost an hour for police to show up in Edgeworth's office after he calls in the murder.)

"What exactly are you basing that on? The scene ends at 2:05 with Edgeworth having been held at gunpoint. It then opens up at 2:56. That is almost an hour…but who's to say they showed up then? The forensics are clearly busy, taking fingerprints and photographing the body so they clearly have been at work for a while, considering they would have to take Edgeworth's statement and lock down the building first. And since the prosecutor's office and the police department are 30 minutes apart…" one sin added.

(Gumshoe must be tired as balls after working the back to back cases with Edgeworth and having one at three in the morning. That is my explanation for why he has no clue what logic is.)

"Okay…yes, maybe that's it…or maybe it's just a joke. Just sayin'. Either scenario is equally possible and that's why this sin is void. Because there are ways to explain this." One sin added.

[(Gumshoe spends half his Saturday cleaning Edgeworth's office, leading Edgeworth to wonder if he has a life.) Little early to steal my lines, don't you think? Played haven't met Kay yet.]

"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.

(Also, this dude's overacting. You are no Matt Engarde, are you?)

"Okay, that is kinda silly. But, again, not as silly as you yelling at the screen." One sin added.

(Much as I like this new "Walking around" gameplay style, it bugs me how pixelated everyone's character is, especially in the facial area. I wish I could say this was made better in the sequel, but honestly, I don't think it was.)

"Sinning the investigations gameplay style. Here we actually have the opportunity to explore the open world and talk to everyone around, much like an RPG and making the investigations all the more enjoyable. And the animation style is fine. So…sinning this." seven sin added.

(Also, why does Edgeworth run everywhere? I can understand Gumshoe doing this, but running is too undignified for Edgeworth's style.)

"Acting like Edgeworth's running style is not graceful." One sin added.

(Edgeworth means to keep his steel samurai obsession a secret, but still a large doll of the character on the windowsill of his office for anyone to see. He will also fanboy about the show's high production values and riveting plot. How is this still a secret?)

"It's not. Basically everyone who knows Edgeworth knows that he is an avid fan of the franchise. He is just too embarrassed to openly admit it. People still talk, though." One sin added.

(Oldbag sends fresh flowers to Edgeworth's office every month, even when Edgeworth isn't there. For a game that gest a double dose of Oldbag, did they really need to write references to her in the cases she's not in?)

"Yes. This has been going on since rise from the ashes. You suck at getting running gags." One sin added.

(Gumshoe stomps his feet like a child at the thought of being a suspect in this series. In related news, this is Gumshoe's fifth game to appear in, but the game is the closest he ever comes to being a defendant. I wanted to defend Gumshoe in the main series, Goddammit it! Maybe he'll come back in AA7 and give us a chance?)

"Yes…maybe he will. So, instead f sinning this, you could just wait for what's to come. I know you are asking for it to have happened already but...considering how many times you have been proven wrong in sinning the series for not doing things it later ends up doing, like with DGS being localized…you should really learn to keep your trap shut." One sin added.

(Edgeworth claims he cross-examines people on the regular.) No, actually, you only did that for part of a case, Edgeworth.]

"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.

(Portsman argues Gumshoe waited until the night Edgeworth returned to his office and Faith caught him to steal from Edgeworth…despite possessing the key for a while month before that.)

"So…what does that prove? The fact is, somebody did break into the office the night Edgeworth came back. Gumshoe is only a suspect right now because he was the only one that had the office's key. The timing of the crime is just a coincidence and proves nothing in regards to the killer's identity." One sin added.

(Portsman's labcoat hijinks. Why does he have one in the first place?)

"Because this is ace attorney and witnesses' appearances never have to make sense, especially since the point is to make people have fun." One sin added.

(Why are there red feathers on Maggey's guard uniform?)

"For the same reason there were red feathers on her police uniform in JFA. Just read the above sin." One sin added.

(Maggey's glasses don't connect back to her in any way, shape or form.)

"How can you tell that? We can see the skeleton of her glasses going to her ear, but it's covered by her hair, so we just can't see it." One sin added.

[(In the hallway.) What is Winston Payne doing here at four in the morning? I understand it's his family's obligation to appear in every tutorial case in every game, but this is some hardcore dedication I don't believe he possesses.]

"Again…where is this coming from? Payne is very fired up about his job. Sure, he is pretty shitty at it, but he still wants to do everything right and win trials. We see him work his butt of in every intro case to try and win. And he went undefeated for seven whole years. So, he is pretty hardcore about being a good prosecutor." One sin added.

(Edgeworth mistakes Payne for a janitor. It's…actually somewhat funny, but sinworthy all the same.)

"Pierce sins something she likes cliché." One sin added.

(Edgeworth promises to prove Maggey's innocence.) Um, Edgeworth, you are not imitating a defense attorney anymore.]

"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.

(Gumshoe comments that only a great thief could successfully break into the office of a high prosecutor.) foreshadowing.]

"Pierce hates foreshadowing for no reason cliché." One sin added.

(Bursting into the office.) Neither police officers has any reaction towards Mr. Portsman being accused of murder. Get used to this, they are the equivalent of court bailiffs, except they were granted the ability to speak.]

"Pierce points out things on the screen cliché." One sin added.

(It's explained later, but why does no one think it's weird that Portsman was working and visiting Criminal Affairs well into the early morning? Between him, Edgeworth and Payne, I think the game is implying it's a regular thing for prosecutors in this series.)

"Yes, it is. So I fail to understand why you sin it. I thought you would understand that's supposed to be the joke, how the prosecutors are all too obsessed with their jobs, but…" one sin added.

(In the end, Portsman killed his own partner because…he caught him snooping in another office? Overreaction much? If Faith really was half as loyal to Portsman as Gumshoe is to Edgeworth, they probably could have talked this out. Only if Faith threatened to tell others about Portsman and open a rabbit hole into his other deeds would I believe Portsman had to kill him.)

"But…that's exactly what would have happened. Yes, Faith was very loyal to portsman and did not expect him to be killed by him…but the idea he wouldn't have told Edgeworth that Portsman was snooping around in his office is stupid. He most likely would do it like a proper officer. So…Faith was too dangerous for Portsman to be allowed to live." One sin added.

(So, wait. Badd broke into Edgeworth's office and saw the body of his fellow detective and the writing that framed another…but gave zero fucks that one of his colleagues was dead and just went out on his merry way?)

"Badd was in the middle of a robbery. He couldn't risk losing valuable time by sticking around to investigate the scene. And he knew Edgeworth would come back at some point and find them body there. And maybe he was planning to make an anonymous call to report the body. Remember that Edgeworth caught him before he escaped. You don't know what he would do after that if Edgeworth hadn't returned." One sin added.

(Gumshoe is eager to pat Portsman down from head to toe? That beats my fanfiction.)

"Doubling down on the big-fat-nothing sins, eh?" one sin added.

[(Portsman yelling.) No.]

"Pierce pointing out things on the screen cliché." One sin added.

(Where was Portsman hiding a whole ass videotape in his person?)

"Maybe in his jacket pockets?" one sin added.

[(Portsman eats gold.) Since I highly doubt that medal is pure…yeah, this breakdown is toxic.]

"Pierce failing at game logic n. 236632." One sin added.

"Also, sinning this breakdown." Ten sins added.

[(Maggey says she's never been in a hostage situation.) foreshadowing?]

"Considering she herself has never been a hostage and never will be in the series so far…no." one sin added.

"And I'm pretty sure this counts as Pierce hating foreshadowing for no reason cliché." One sin added

(First mentions of the smuggling ring.) More foreshadowing. And this one feels weird in retrospect. Chronologically, turnabout airlines takes place before this case, and that one discusses the smuggling ring and its influence in detail. So…why are Edgeworth and Gumshoe acting like they don't know anything about it? If you have to do this for the players sake, maybe don't tell your stories in a fucked up order.]

"Yeah, I agree. They swapped the first and fourth case chronologically for no clear reason. Okay, I get it was to not reveal all the big twists so early on, but…maybe they should have been more careful about the way the reveal the information, since it makes it feel very weird in retrospect." One sin removed.

[(Gumshoe remembers details from turnabout reminiscence.) If you think Gumshoe remembers relatively minor details that far back, even on his first case, you are giving him too much credit.]

"More like you are not giving him enough credit. That case changed his life. That's when he met Edgeworth and formed his friendship with him. That wast he best day of his life, of course he remembers details from it." One sin added.

(When did Edgeworth or the police put the chessboard back together in his office? Who magically mended the tea set? This is never explained.)

"Pierce failing at game logic n. 236633." One sin added.

Total sin tally: 49

Sentence: Swallowing a golden necklace.
