Summary: Being reborn into a world of magic wasn't on his mind. Still, he enjoyed it and lived a quiet and peaceful life there. He didn't want to draw too much attention to himself since he really wanted to life in peace. But he knew it would come to it. He would sooner or later be drawn into something because he couldn't look away. Naruto Uzumaki would never change.

"I'm coming!" said Naruto Uzumaki, formerly known as the Jinchūriki of Kurama, the Kyūbi and strongest Bijū. He got up from his bed and yawned a bit when he looked out of the window. He raised his arms and stretched, feeling how his back cracked lightly.
He had his usual spiky blond hair and his ocean blue eyes besides his 6 whisker marks in his face. He was wearing only boxers right now because he just woke up. Being reborn into another world was very unusual. In his last fight against Madara Uchiha with Sasuke together… what can he say he died in the final moment. He used his body to hold Madara at the place where he needed to be. Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi and his father made the final sealing formular and sealed Madara away.
The problem with this seal was that it needed a sacrifice. This seal was given by Hagoromo to Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Sakura and Minato as a last chance to seal Madara. Since Minato was an Edo-Tensei at the time he couldn't be used as a sacrifice. Naruto didn't even wait 1 second before he said he would do it. Kakashi, Minato, Sakura and Sasuke told him that it would be stupid when he would be the sacrifice. Well… everyone had their own reasons why they didn't want Naruto to sacrifice himself, but he wouldn't change his mind. He would do it anyway and since Sasuke knew Naruto better than anyone, he was the first one to say ok to this. After a few debates everyone agreed to this outcome since they didn't have much time in this situation.
Naruto was ready to die at that moment and thought about all his accomplishments. He would do the same things over and over again because everything he had to go through made him who he was. When his past would be a little different then Naruto wouldn't be the same.
How was the saying…. The past actions define who you are today.
Naruto dressed himself up and looked in the mirror that was hanging on the wall in his room. The room had a wood bottom, walls and ceiling. The world where he was reborn was different than his old home. In this world wasn't chakra. The humans in this world used something called magic where they use their magic to boost their body. Magical Power was generally used as energy to strengthen the body and weapons, and healing existed, but was difficult.
The presence or absence of Magical Power was determined by talent, but it was not uncommon to have Magical Power, and it was possible to develop Magical Power with effort. Fighting an opponent with Magical Power without Magical Power was a clear difference and could be called suicidal. For this reason, although there were several schools of martial arts, they could be won by forceful push with Magical Power, and from the perspective of Naruto, who learned various forms to fight with his Taijutsu, pure fighting techniques had not been refined.
Because of the nature of Magical Power to dissipated uncontrollably as soon as it leaved one's body, the use of Magical Power to send out slashes of Magical Power required an enormous amount of Magical Power and the ability to control Magical Power to a degree that was almost beyond the norm.
Magical Power could sometimes physically manifest itself depending on the user's skill, giving off colors and other visual depictions. People who could do this could create Special Techniques; what kind of power they possessed depended on the one who created the Special Technique.
Naruto wore a simple white shirt with brown pants and black socks. When he was reborn into this world, he was alone. He couldn't directly make out everything around himself, but he felt the unknown energy at this point all around him. He was raised by an orphanage but later he got adopted from a man he never thought he would see again.
He was now 11 years old and had trained in his usage of magic. He had learned a few things from his adoptive father when it came to magic and swords. Swords were the most common weapon to use with magic. Spellswords used magic to strengthen their swords. It was for the simple reason that hand-to-hand combat was unnecessary since when you strengthen your body with magic and the enemy did the same then it would be as if no one strengthened their body with magic. Because of that weapons were used.
In his room there was his bed, a wardrobe, a desk with books on it and a chair in front of it, a carpet on the floor and a chest of drawers. On the wall were hanging 2 swords. This two swords were his own making. His adoptive father was a blacksmith, and he learned a lot from him and right now, he could forge his own weapons.
The material which was used for a weapon was very important when it came to magic. Different materials had different conductivity efficiency. For iron it was only 10%, for steel 20-30% and for mithril 50%. It also didn't matter how good your magic control was, the conductivity would always be the same. To this point in his life, Naruto hadn't heard of another material who had a better conductivity than mithril. Since mithril was rare and hard to obtain, he could call himself lucky that he already had a mithril sword of his own. He obtained the material from a gang of thieves.
He trained his body, his magic and everything else also a bit hidden. He began his training even before his adoptive father adopted him and began to train him in the usage of a sword and magic. One thing was clear to Naruto: The aspect of magic control in this world was not as important as magical power. The common sight on things in this world was: The more magical power you have the better you are and stronger. Naruto learned pretty early than this wasn't the case. He knew it from his old life.
He had a shit ton of chakra, more than anyone else but he always only survived out of luck or because of the help of others. Only after he learned how to control his massive amount of chakra, he really made giant leaps when it came to his strength. The best example would be his training in the usage of natural energy. If he couldn't control nature's energy, he would have turned into a frog. But he controlled it and got a massive power boost from his sage mode. After the training with Killer Bee to control the chakra from Kurama was another example. Only with the right control could he use the chakra from Kurama efficiently.
He went out of his room and went down the stairs to find his adoptive father. When he first saw him, he couldn't believe his eyes. In front of him stood Jiraiya just in other clothes than in the elemental nations. When it came to personality, he was the same as in the elemental nations. He just didn't know anything about it. Naruto had asked Jiraiya many questions, but he had to realize that this Jiraiya in front of him wasn't the Jiraiya from his old home. This Jiraiya was a blacksmith who also once was a Spellsword and because of that he could train Naruto in the ways of the sword and magic.
"Ah there you are. Sit down and eat. We have a lot of work to do today as well," said Jiraiya. He wore also simple clothes because he would go into the forge in a few minutes. When Naruto learned to forge properly, he would help Jiraiya out in the forge because at the moment a lot of requests came for swords. It all began 6 months ago when the activities of robbers became more frequent. More and more merchants were robbed with loads of weapons. The most requests came from the capital.
Naruto and Jiraiya lived in the province in the Kagenō territory. The Kagenō's were a baron family and ruled above this part of the country. That meant that they were nobles. Naruto never wanted to do anything with those nobles since he never really was the type for formalities. He liked it normal and when he could simply name someone normal and not with a specific honorific.
"Ok, father," said Naruto and sat down in the kitchen. Since they were under the normal people their house, which was connected to the forge, was nothing special. The equipment was the usual in the kitchen, the living room and the bathroom. The only abnormality in their home was the extra room were different tools and materials were stored.
"Have you slept well?" asked Jiraiya while he was eating. "Yes, I slept well as always. Since when are you awake?" asked Naruto.
"I already was in the forge to prepare everything… I would say an hour or so," answered Jiraiya. He was usually earlier awake than Naruto since he prepared everything in the forge beforehand. Naruto was in Jiraiya's eyes still a 10-year-old boy and he didn't need to wake up so early. He knew that Naruto was a special kid from the moment he saw him in the orphanage. He saw him how he wielded a wooden sword all by himself in secret. The way he swung the sword showed him that he was still at the very beginning but his control over his body was exponential. His basic stance had no flaws as if he already knew how to fight without a sword and he simply tried to bring in a sword in his fighting style.
Naruto absorbed everything he taught him in his training. He never saw someone learn so fast. When Naruto asked Jiraiya what the normal speed of learning was then Jiraiya simply stated that he was pretty normal even when it wasn't. He was a true genius when it came to almost everything. Be it the usage of magic or the sword style Jiraiya taught Naruto. He even learned how to forge in record time as if Naruto wasn't from this world. It was really ridiculous how fast he learned everything. The books he had over magic were learned in the shortest time Jiraiya knew. He didn't have many books like the Kagenō, but he still had a few books about sword styles, magic, forging and a few books about history.
He couldn't believe it at first, but Naruto really learned the old rune language from a book he didn't even know he had anymore. He thought he had got rid of those books. But one day he found Naruto reading this old book without any problems. He didn't think much of it at first but when he read the title, he remembered this old book. Those were one of a series of ancient books that were from ancient times about various things. He could also read the rune language but for Naruto to be able to read this book was just outstanding. It proved to him once more that Naruto was not a normal child. He was really something special.
He always tried to hide his genius in front of others, but Jiraiya knew what he was capable of. Even his little training sessions in one of the many woods that surrounded the Kagenō territory. He had watched him a few times and never said something. He was just happy to have Naruto around. Since he lost his big love in his childhood to some noble man, he never loved someone else.
Naruto was like the son he never had. He was 38 years old and having Naruto around made his life really better. He simply worked and trained before he found Naruto 6 years ago. He never really believed in fate, but meeting Naruto could be called fate. Jiraiya smiled and laughed again after Naruto came into his life.
He just had this aura around him that made everyone smile and laugh. He could bring people to believe in himself and he had the will to never give up. He also never broke a promise he made so far.
Naruto nodded and ate the enjoyable food his father prepared for both of them and looked out of the window. It was still early; he could say this because the sun was just rising above the horizon. He helped his father 6 hours before he would stop since Jiraiya wouldn't let him help him more than 6 hours straight. That wasn't a problem for him Naruto because he could go into the woods and train while Jiraiya would forge till the sun went down.
Naruto just came out of the bathtub and dried himself off. He finished today with helping his father. He could do what he wanted while his father was still forging for the next hours, and he used this to train.
He went into his room and grabbed his clothes and dressed up. After that he took his sword off the wall and equipped it at his belt on his left side. The normal sword in this world was a 1-handed broadsword. Katanas were really rare to see in this world. Naruto was confused at first but simply shrugged his shoulders since he never really used a sword in his old world. It wasn't important what sort of sword he would use.
Naruto left the house and began to walk through the village. The Kagenō residence was on a hill, surrounded by a thick and high wall. As far as he knew they had one or two children. Well, he didn't care since he only wanted to life his peaceful life in this world. He enjoyed being the adoptive son of Jiraiya and the simple lifestyle both had. They didn't have anything fancy or special. They did everyday the same and it couldn't be better in Naruto's life. He only trained everyday to be strong enough if he would ever meet a member of this weird cult again. It was a year ago when he met some thieves and fought them. After the fight he checked if the thieves had something on them that could help him identify where they came from. There was one thief who was different and stronger than the others. This person said something about a cult he was part of and that made Naruto cautious. After he defeated him, he asked him a few questions because he wanted information. He never was the type to interrogate someone, but he had no other choice because otherwise this person wouldn't have talked.
The end result was that he got a few information about the cult of diabolos. Since that day he found much information in the history books that this cult existed longer than he thought before. He didn't know everything about that cult because the person only said the name and that the cult would rescue the world and would bring her peace. Naruto had heard those things from many delusional people already. He didn't believe one thing about the intentions of that cult. Everything that person said besides the name of the cult was a lie. Naruto simple felt this. He knocked him unconscious and delivered him to the knights in the Kagenō territory. He was a wanted criminal and went into prison when the knights found his unconscious body by their door.
Naruto simply went into the woods and smiled while he looked around. He really liked nature and being in nature always gave him a sense of comfort. He liked to investigate the surroundings from the Kagenō territory. He stopped when he sensed a weird magic wave. It was just like this one time when he… he stormed off and created a cloud of dust at his starting point.
He ran around trees, jumped over bushes and other obstacles. He could already see the abandoned village in the distance where it happened the last time. 'Is this a coincidence?' thought Naruto. He stopped when he saw the 12 houses of the abandoned village. All houses looked pretty old and run down. The walls of the houses had holes to a certain extent and he windows didn't even have the glasses. The doors were also gone. He walked towards the village and simply followed the magic he felt. When he walked past the first house, he remembered everything that happened half a year ago. He looked into it for a second before he went on. He stopped when he was directly in front of the door of the third house. He could see a girl which was not much older than himself.
She had blue pupils and shoulder-length silver hair with a left braid behind her ear and a mole underneath the corner of her eye on the same side. Because of the ears he could tell that this girl was a elf just like the first girl he met in this village after he defeated a few robbers.
"Hello," said Naruto. The girl was frightened when she heard the voice of Naruto and looked with panic in her eyes to Naruto. "Don't worry," said Naruto and took the sword with sheath of his belt and laid it down on the ground in front of him. After he stood up again, he simply held his hands open so that she could see he didn't have anything on him.
"I don't want to hurt you," said Naruto.
The girl seemed a little less frightened when she heard the gentle voice of Naruto. "W-who are you?" asked the girl.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki, I live in the Kagenō territory with my father," said Naruto. "Could I hear your name?" asked Naruto.
He looked at her right arm and narrowed his eyes. 'Just like I thought.' He had seen this illness before but more advanced. The last time he saw this the victim was only a mountain of rotten flesh with nothing that would identify them as humans or other races.
That was called demon possession. It was a misunderstood illness that wasn't what it appeared to be. It was a sudden event where a woman's body suddenly begins to rot until it was not recognizable as a human being anymore and dies one day. However, these symptoms are revealed to be a form of magical overload. Naruto had already cured one girl from this illness or disease whatever one wanted to call it. When he first saw the girl as the mountain of rotten flesh, he felt something was off. He thought about giving this thing to the church, but he didn't do it. He tried to use his healing application from magic to heal the rotten mountain of flesh. When magic was used on the rotten flesh then it would expand and go out of control. Naruto had felt this reaction before by someone other. It was a symptom of magical overload. He tried many things and needed a lot of time but after 4 months he finally got the magical overload under control and thus cured the girl back then from the disease.
"M-my name is Natsume," said Natsume. Naruto smiled gently and nodded. "I could help you, when you wish," said Naruto. Natsume looked at Naruto with the obvious look that she didn't believe him. It was a natural reaction when you think about it. It was never heard of that someone who would help a person who had demon possession.
"You don't believe me," said Naruto. Natsume simply looked at him with tears in her eyes. She felt a pain the whole time and couldn't suppress her tears. She didn't have any strength left.
"I don't need to touch you," said Naruto as he raised his right arm slowly. She took a step back instinctively and turned a bit away from Naruto. When Naruto had risen his hand, a golden glow began to form above his palm and took the shape of a little flame. Natsume got wide eyes when she felt how her pain lessened and she felt an unknown warmth. She looked around and could see this golden light that was full of warmth. She looked into Naruto's blues eyes which reflected the golden light.
"All you need to do is to agree," said Naruto with a gentle voice. He wouldn't force her to do anything. While he was trying to cure the decease of the other girl, he found out a lot of things about magic. It could be used in more ways than what was common knowledge. With magic you could even manipulate how fast your heart was beating or how fast your blood was flowing. Those were all things he learned during the 4 months he tried various things. You could even move your inner body party a bit with the usage of magic. Magic was really a wonder when it came to the body. You could even use it to change the color of your eyes or hair. It was pretty difficult, but it was possible.
Natsume didn't say anything for 2 minutes while Naruto simply stood there with the golden flame which flickered above his hand. That was simply a manifestation of mana above his palm in the shape of a golden flame. It wasn't real fire which flickered above his palm.
"P-please…," said Natsume. She couldn't hold it in any longer. She wanted to be free from this prison that slowly ate away her body and turned her into nothing but rotten flesh. She wanted to have no more pain. She simply wanted to be herself again. She simply had that feeling when she saw those blue eyes that he told the truth. In her desperate situation agreed she to the proposal from Naruto.
"Help me! I want to be free again!" said Natsume while she was holding up her arm which wasn't transformed yet. She held her hand towards Naruto with a pleasing look on her face. Naruto simply closed his palm and put out the little flame. Out of nowhere appeared a golden glow under Natsume and after that she was surrounded by a pillar of golden mana. She looked down and could feel how something changed inside of her. It was unbelievable but the rotten flash on her arm began to vanish, and every sign of the illness simply disappeared from her body. At the same time, she felt how her own magic was strengthened. After 10 seconds the golden mana vanished and the light in the house faded away. She couldn't believe it… she was cured! She couldn't feel any type of indication that she was still infected.
"Wha-?" she couldn't even say a word right now. She simply looked with wide eyes at Naruto. He simply smiled and said, "As I told you; I don't even need to touch you for that."
She realized the situation and got more tears in her eyes before she began to cry uncontrollably. All the emotions she tried to hold in herself freed themselves, knowing that they didn't need to be buried anymore. It was an automatically reaction from her body.
Naruto looked over his shoulder because he felt how a person was approaching. 'It seems like she found me after all,' thought Naruto. Back then the girl he cured didn't wake up after he cured her. He brought her to an elderly couple who would take her in and vanished after that. It was the best in that situation since he didn't want to draw too much intention. He was happy that he could help her, but he didn't want to be dragged into another big thing that was outside of his control.
Steps could he heard and after a few seconds was she in sight of Naruto. He looked into the blue eyes of the elf girl he cured back then. Her long golden blond hair still moved from the rapid movement just a second ago. Her eyes were wide when she saw Naruto in the empty doorframe from the old house. She still felt the magic that was being used back then. She would never forget that feeling of the salvation. The warmth and the gentleness of that magic power… the magic who saved her from her fate. She searched for the last couple of months after the person who saved her back then. She woke up to the faces of an elderly couple. They told her that she was brought to them by a male person. They just couldn't tell who that person was exactly because he was hiding his face behind a white mask.
"It's been a while, how are you doing?" asked Naruto. Since it came to that he could also ask her how she was doing. She wore a weird outfit, and she held a black sword in her right hand out of an uncommon material. It wasn't any type of steel, so much was clear.
"I finally found you…" said the girl with the long blond her and blue eyes.
(A/N Hello everyone. I just finished the first season of one of the best anime I ever watched. I couldn't help myself and think about a scenario where Naruto would be reborn into the Shadowverse. This was just an idea and after I realized that there were practically no fanfictions so far, I simply had to try myself on one. This would be my side project beside Maelstrom's Testament (Rewrite). What do you all think about this story? Would you all be interested in this, or don't I need to keep writing on that story because no one is interested in this. I will wait for your reviews or p.m.'s! That would be all for now. Stay strong folks!)
