Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Thief and the Girl Who Walked on Fire. Enjoy the 2800-word chapter. I do not own RWBY, Monty Oum, and Rooster Teeth do.
There were moments of silence broken only by a few seconds of sparks and more and more clashes of metal for now.
Cye was sent sliding backward, barely managing to dig in his weapons at the time. The second he tried it? well, it went badly. It went very badly for them now knowing that this was not going well.
He did not even know what was going on… But he felt proud of the fact she was strong enough to fight him.
Cye paused and dodged her sword as it passed by his shoulder only for her to roundhouse kick him, grab her sword, and rush toward him. he barely brought up his blade to stop it in time, sparks flying from their swords.
He hummed and looked to the ground, knowing what was going on. He knew he knew exactly well what was going on, and not once did he wish to.
He held such an idea in his mind that it hurt. Such about this was life and it was fun to him that if anything went wrong? Well, it would be worth it for now as he stared at Cinder.
She drew her sword from the ground and glanced at him, her blade ready to properly skewer him. She knew damn well what was going on and she knew now?
There were a lot of things that needed to be done and dusted for now at the time being. There were a lot of things that needed to be dealt with now, that sort of thing needed to be done.
There was a silence as she looked at him, watching him to see what he would do… And she knew just as much how well it would get… How little he knew.
Cinder danced around him, pausing only to slice at him with her sword as he kicked her back, she seemed to slice at him as sparks flew faster and faster.
She launched into a handstand kick only for him to duck, spinning around to glance at her as he hummed, his blade dancing at it.
The Faunus had his ears lower and raise themselves as he looked at her. There was a clear desire to be better than this written all over him and her.
He sighed and sheathed his blade on the ground, he knew very well he could not do much to stop her and that alone was pushing them towards another part of the fight he could not understand.
Why he was having so much trouble fighting her, even if he did not wish to? He had to, for that was the only way he could grow. He did not wish to throw himself into fighting her for now lest he open another can of worms and understands what he would have to deal with now.
She sighed and finally cooled off at the end of the day, knowing what was going on and not wanting to deal with it more when push had come to shove now. That bothered her for some reason she could not tell and truly understand it now.
To be entirely fair? Cinder of all people seemed not to know what was growing at the end of the day before he looked downwards.
Cinder seemed to be done with it as she looked at him before he looked to the side, Cye seemed to grow too tired as he clicked it to the side.
He and her both looked at each other before she spun her swords. It was then they through each other at each other, prepared for combat.
He tossed himself at her and then looked at her with interest, sparks flying from their swords as their blades slammed into each other.
Cinder was too interested in what was being done as she paused to look to the side. Both Cinder and Cye cleared their throats before they looked to the side.
Cinder seems to be dealt with. Cye looked once more as she clicked her fingers and both he and her looked at each other.
"Tired?" Cinder asked as Cye hummed. "I am," Cinder stated.
"I know, it is why I ain't fighting no more. We have more work to do and getting tired does not help." Cye stated before he sighed.
To be entirely fair? He of all people was tired, he would remain tired, remain beyond it all at the end of the day, what he needed to do was different… Not that he minded it now and for good reason, now and for good.
He held onto such desires now and for good reason, she knew very well that whatever it was? They would hold onto something now, something vital.
Cye looked at her before now and realized she was like him? simply trying to handle life, simply wishing to relax…. Whatever came next? It would end… All things eventually ended, this among them.
Cye sighed and planted his blades into the ground for a moment. Cinder doing the same as the two shared looks at one another… Looks that told them just how odd it would be and how ridiculous it would be for now.
All it did was remind Cye he was tired and worn down. They had practiced long enough, practicing further was not going to help when it came to helping them fight.
All of them had more and more issues with this… All of them had done now and for good reason. Cye had collapsed into the wall and he had acted more and more amused.
"I want you to know that I am just as exhausted as you think now," Cye stated as he sighed and then thought more of what was growing on his mind now, and for good reason when it was all said and done.
Cye watched Cinder rest her hand on her knees, rubbing them like there were blisters on her skin which there seemed to be.
To be fair? Cye would and could tell that something that needed to be handled. It needed to be addressed now and for good, it needed to be done and dusted, it would be and that was a good reason as always not to care now.
Cye was too tired to deal with for now as he clicked it for now as he paused to do done and dusted.
Cye was too relaxed, too tired, and too unable to understand what he had to do now and would need doing. It was unthinkable now and for good reason, all of it became harder and harder for now.
Cye was too interested in what was to be done before it crashed down to the ground. He looked to the side as he thought it seemed to be done when it came crashing to it.
Cye frowned as he paused, thinking to himself and unaware of how it was occurring now.
Cye seemed to be done as Cinder paused, thinking to herself before she looked over to her friend once more and then thought of it all.
"Are you ok?" Cye asked to which Cinder nodded before she looked to the side, too interested.
Cye hummed to which Cinder looked at him, she tapped her swords on the ground, too tired, too exhausted and she was too unable to even speak, too curious.
Cye seemed to be done with it as she looked to the side. She paused and relaxed it for now.
"Are you ok?" Cinder heard before he sighed and leaned on the wall. "Because I haven't trained when it came to combat," Cinder said to which Cye seemed to be thinking of what was growing on her mind before she smirked.
Cinder thought of her next before she seemed to be done and dusted, something about it all came crashing down as the girl rubbed at her feet, tired.
"Cin?" Cye asked to which Cinder held up her hands before she sighed, blisters beginning to form on her feet.
She cursed as she looked to the side before it came crashing to the ground. Cye seemed to be eager to think of what was to happen now as she paused to herself.
Cinder hummed, sighing as she kicked off her boots which were covered in sweat before she looked upwards into the sky. She thought of her next movement before she looked to the side.
"Do you know what training is going to be like?" Cinder heard to which she looked to the side. "We have a LOT of work to do, I have a lot to help you learn, Cin. The more training do we need to go through? The more we must figure out now." Cinder stated before she looked to the side.
Cinder seemed to be thinking of it to the end when it came crashing down the line, she knew of it and she knew more options when it was all said and done when all of it was said and done.
Cinder seemed to wish to end it for now as she was all too much when it came down to it all now and for good reason, now and forever, these sorts of issues would and could hurt.
That and that alone all crashed down. it was clear to her now and for good that he was trying his best to help her… Not that a fractured mind would see it so easily… He minded it at least for a different reason.
Cinder rubbed at her wounded feet, part of her cursed for being so nice… She had been unwilling to forget what had happened before, how they had made her willing to throw people under the bus.
It had not been pretty, they had HURT, they had hurt HER and they had paid for it now when she had thought of it all… She knew more than he how it had been like to suffer in the tundra and she knew Cye was trying to help.
Granted, his idea of help was odd but it was still help. It would always be help, she was willing to concede she would not be able to conquer things alone… But she was NOT willing to act like she was weak, she hated that idea as it was something her stepmother had used to try and keep dealing with.
Cinder paused as she looked to Cye, paused to think of what to tell him as she thought of everything that she wished to have been.
Odd, sure… But her life could have been much odder, she supposed. She did live in the fantasy that she wished to continue living in and it was very debatable if she ever wanted together.
Still? She was tired, very tired, and very much willing to act in the way she could have fought for now.
She looked around, too tired and then she wished to drop at that moment, she wished to focus and she would not be able to relax, she would not be able to breathe now and she wanted to collapse.
Cinder did not know what her ideas would do and that scared her more and more with each little idea would do to them… It was more than enough for now when it was all said and done.
She and he had VERY different ideas as to how it would have happened now… Something had to give and it would probably be their ability to survive now and for good.
Something about it all had been harder and harder to think of now, it had been something for him to deal with… Cinder saw this as just another way to train… Something about training was harder and harder as she sighed and then looked to the side.
Cinder hummed and thought of it all as a game, to train… She could hardly be blamed for considering this much more than she had been too interested in it all now.
Cinder planted her sword in the ground, something which had been more amusing to her now than before… Something about it all had been harder and harder at the time being.
Cinder looked at Cye as he paused, thinking of it all differently.
"Tomorrow? Tomorrow, we need to train… Because the only way we get better at being a team is to try and figure something out when it comes to combat… Then and only then when it comes to fighting." Cye sighed and then thought of each little move he could make.
Tomorrow? He had been too interested in it all, something that he had to figure out…. Now and only then… Would he allow it the glory of such an issue, something he would dig out now and for a grand and glorious issue?
Something about it all had been amusing him now and for good real issues as he paused, thinking of it all before he looked.
