Mobene was gathered at the arena cheering for the Legion victory. Lanius just left the arena after slaughtering Centuria worth of troops. 3 Imperials entered the arena. The Imperials looked in horror at the bodies of their comrades, The door opened as a Centurion walked into the arena. He wore a Veteran Ranger Helmet and gas mask but one of the red lenses was taken out. The helmet was decorated with Decani feathers topped off with Centurion feathers. The Centurion's body armor was reinforced combat armor mixed with Imperial armor at the Battle Of Rome, he also sported a leather long coat from a Veteran Ranger with its Bear repainted with a Bull.
"Vulk gave me some pretty equipment! Time to put them to work." The Centurion talked about the Legion's blacksmith. He swung his sharpened Chinese Officer Sword, He also stretched his shield bearing arm, the shield he carried was standard riot equipment, a Ballistic Shield with of course a Bull painted on its front, the ends of the shield cut to make a sharp edge.
"Back home I'm the Coliseum's favorite! Hope you don't disappoint the crowd too much." The Centurion said to the Imperials while hyping up the crowd. He turned his back doing a strongman pose to the cheering crowd. One of the Imperials took initiative and rushed the Centurion while his back was turned, he was about to thrust his sword into his back but he was too slow. The Centurion turned and used the shield and Imperial's momentum to flip the Imperial on his back.
"You remind me of a newborn Brahmin learning to walk…" The Centurion taunted him. He stood over the Imperial and slammed his serrated edged shield into the Imperial's neck severing it from the body, The crowd cheered at the bloodshed.
"(Damn savage! You dogs will pay!) An Imperial shouted in rage at the death of a fellow soldier. The Centurion stared at him confused as the Imperial rushed him as the other followed
reluctantly. The Centurion smiled.
"Ahh! There you go! C'mon! I've been bored here!" The Centurion motioned for them to come closer. As they got closer the bold Imperial's sword was blocked by the shield. The Imperial lost his balance which the Centurion capitalized on by using his shield to bash him.
"(I got him!)" The reluctant Imperial said as tried to stab him while he was dealing with the other. The Centurion dodged and turned to the attacker, countering with a knee to the chin knocking him down. The Centurion sheathed his blade, swapping between a thumbs up and thumbs down. The crowd gave many thumbs down which was the signal the Centurion needed. The second imperial in response to the thumbs down was something he'd seen in his own battle arena, he gave a close handed fist, the Centurion looked confused.
"The hell is that? The crowd already said their choice." The Centurion said as his shield stabbed his arm, pinning his arm down. He pulled out his sword and stabbed the pinned Imperial's neck. The bold Imperial finally got up and readied his fists. The Centurion turned to him and smiled.
"You kinda remind me of my Ranger D.I., always wanted to kill him…" The Centurion said to himself. The Imperial threw a punch at him which he blocked with his shield sending his fist downwards.
"Fortune favors the bold…too bad it wasn't enough" He said as he stabbed his serrated shield into the Imperials foot, pinning him down. As the Imperial screamed in pain, he grabbed his neck and slowly stabbed his Officer sword into the Imperials chest.
"(Damn…dog…)" he gurgled out as the sword stabbed deeper and the body dropped as the sunrise hit the arena.
"YAHAAA!" The Centurion shouted with pride as bodies littered the ground. Lanius stood over the arena watching the fight with his arms crossed, staring at the Centurion showboating.
"You notice that these Imperials suck more than the ones that attacked Rome?" The Courier said to Lanius while walking to him.
"I have, These men were weaker than them, I've sent some back to Rome." Lanius told Nuntius.
"I see, The Frumentarii are beginning to have a huge workload…" The Courier said aloud but his thoughts were cut off by the yelling in the Arena.
"C'mon send in more walking corpses!" The Centurion his sword pointed towards the opponents gate causing the crowd of Legionaries to cheer. Lanius narrowed his eyes at the sight of him.
"Damn he does know how to make them love him!" The Courier said as he looked at the aftermath.
"Well he should know how to after being in there for 2 years" Lanius said dismissively. The Courier smirked.
"My, is Lanius jealous? It's only natural after all the attention I gave Antigonus back then…" The Courier said, teasing Lanius while doing dramatic poses.
"Don't worry Lanius…I-I will always keep you in my heart…Because-Because…" Lanius stood still as The Courier kept spouting off whatever he was saying.
"I Love You!" The Courier told Lanius finally after so long spoke his feelings. The Courier reached for Lanius' chin to guide a kiss to him? with them both wearing masks? Well, you got me. By all accounts, it doesn't make sense. Lanius grabbed his hand, crushing it.
"ow, Ow, OW! OW! OK! OK! I'LL STOP!" The Courier begged Lanius to let go of his hand. Lanius tossed his hand aside. The Courier shook his pain out of his hand.
"He has grown since the Colosseum…" Lanius spoke to The Courier. He looked at Lanius before looking at Antigonus.
"Yeah, Back then he was like… Ah! Baby Deathclaw!" The Courier said while snapping his fingers. Lanius stared at Nuntius, he was too used to him to be confused.
"...How so?" Lanius questioned.
"You know, when he was a Ranger, he's a baby Deathclaw, he could kill but he needed a Mama Deathclaw to nurture him…" The Courier said with a smile. Lanius sighed.
"I don't like the implication that you're a "Mama" Deathclaw…" Lanius said with a dead tone.
"Whatever, you just hate us cuz you ain't us. Anyway I gotta do something so bub bye!" The Courier said while walking out of the booth. Lanius sighed and imagined ways to kill Nuntius.
"I hope decimatio comes soon, Nuntius." Lanius said while watching Antigonus fight more Imperials.

While Fort Mobene cheered for Antigonus there were some too busy to go to the event. Explorers sent by Lanius to investigate around Mobene. A group of 3 led by an explorer named Locatus. He wore standard light explorer gear along with some Brotherhood of Steel Recon armor and helmet, it was covered by a dark red hooded poncho with a yellow bull painted on the back. stones flew into his face due the winds but blocked by his bandana and road goggles.
"Locatus I have a question…" a Legion Explorer asked. Locatus focused on securing the rope while talking to the Explorer.
"What is it?" Locatus asked while starting to scale the cliffside. The 2 Explorers followed.
"Why didn't Legate Nuntius join you when you met us outside Fort Mobene?" The curious Explorer asked.
"Ah yeah, forgot to tell you both… The impostor Legion attacked Mobene, I was told to leave by Centurion Silus, Legate's order." Locatus simply said as he got to the top of the cliffside. He hoisted himself up and extended a hand to his fellow Explorers, which they took.
"Huh?! How come you didn't tell us?" The 2nd Explorer shouted. Locatus looked at him.
"Are you telling me you don't believe in a Legion victory? What happened to "In hoc signo taurus vinces"?" Locatus questioned with glare to which he took back what he said.
"That's not what I mean Locatus… I just want to make sure we win…" The 2nd Explorer said while in thought. Locatus stared for a second before turning away putting a grapple rope on a hook around his waist.
"We have both the Legatus who took over Hoover Dam…so I wouldn't worry." Locatus said while adding to the map of Mobene's nearby area before pointing north and putting it away.
"We'll continue South for settlements, if nothing then we move east and continue till we find…anything of note really…beside random towns" Locatus told his Explorers which they both nodded. They passed a small town on the way, watching it from afar. Locatus would consider it a tribe if anything.
"Keep moving…" an Explorer told the other. Locatus followed two around the cliffs a couple missteps but nothing too serious. As they kept moving Locatus saw an edge of a large field in the distance, blocked by the rock formation in front of Locatus' vision.
"Huh? see anything up there?" Locatus asked the Explorers ahead of him. They stood still looking at the field with binoculars, speaking to each other but Locatus couldn't hear. He continued around the cliff side and under the rock formation. His eyes widened at what he saw in the field, it wasn't as shocking as first seeing Hoover Dam but shocking nonetheless.
"Hand me those…" Locatus requested the binoculars and the Explorer handed them. Locatus looked at the structure as the sun rose into the sky. It looked like a pre-war military base but the only flag he could see wasn't anything he'd seen before, It was a white flag with a red dot in the middle. The base itself had tents leading to it being made more recent. Locatus' thoughts were interrupted.
"What should we do, Locatus?" an Explorer asked. Locatus thought about it for a second while looking at the mass corpses of Imperial soldiers outside their base.
"We'll get closer then return to Mobene." Locatus made his decision. He took off his bandana and goggles revealing his dark skin glistened with nervous sweat.
A Sniper was overlooking the Battle of Alnus' aftermath, until he spotted a bright glare. He focused on the glare and saw a group of three soldiers. But their uniforms are what intrigued him, they looked like Imperials but…different. As soon as The Sniper thought that, they hid inside the dead bodies around them.
"Yamato…This is Disciple-4 I spotted an unknown group of 3 outside of Alnus, What are orders?, over." The Sniper said
"Disciple-4, This is Yamato, orders to eliminate those who step over the line, over." Command radioed back. The Sniper grimaced.
"Disciple-4, Yamato, Tangos look to have no ill intent, could be looters, they seem to be hiding in enemy bodies, lost visual, over." The Sniper said to command.
"Roger that Disciple-4, Sending in Bravo-2 to search the rubble, over." They responded.
"Bravo-2 Actual, Yamato, how copy?, over."
"Solid copy, Yamato, heading over to Disciple-4 position, over." Bravo-2 Actual responded to them.
"Roger Bravo-2 Actual, be advised I have Disciple-4 standing by. Switch to TAC Freq. 126, Over."
"Roger that, Switching to 126. Out." Bravo-2 Actual said as they swapped frequencies.
Locatus and the Explorers crawled through the bodies, trying to hide from the sniper that spotted them. They were only alive because of the early mourning sun creating perfect shadows in the dugouts.
"We need to get back and let the Legatus know…" Locatus whispered to his Explorers.
"Is that really the NCR? I thought that Mars wiped them out…" One of the Explorers asked Locatus.
"I don't know…Caesar told us that Mars destroyed them but it seems that they're like Radroaches…" Locatus said with disgust as he thought about it, something didn't add up. The three crawled towards the tree line before they heard shouting from behind them.
"(Hands in the air! You're coming with us!) The well equipped soldiers shouted in the new world language. The 2 other explorers were ready to take their own lives as they stood up.
"Easy, don't kill yourselves yet…" Locatus whispered to his explorers as he slowly put up his hands, something seemed off about these "NCR".
"(...Locatus…Killed…Legion)" Locatus could barely speak the new language since his only experience was from Imperial prisoners in Rome. An Explorer leaned to Locatus and whispered.
"I've got a shot on one, waiting for you." he said to Locatus. The soldier shouted at them.
"(Cut the speaking!)" The soldier shouted at them. Locatus could understand what they said.
"Shit…(Empire…bad?)" Locatus said not really not knowing what he said. The soldiers looked at each other with surprise.
"You speak Japanese?" The Soldier questions Locatus. He was confused.
"What's Japanese? We're speaking English?" Locatus asked, wondering what Japanese was, he thought he heard about "a Japan" from those Yakuza guys around New Reno, but he thought it was a shitty holotape movie. The soldiers were shocked at the "Imperials" words. The Explorer seizing his chance, pulled out his 9mm pistol and fired at the soldiers, Locatus, surprised, quickly grabbed a frag grenade he had in his bag, pulling the pin and tossing it to their feet.
"On the goddamn ground!" Locatus should as he pushed the 2 explorers sending them all into a nearby crater. It went off as dirt and metal bits went flying. They all sat up in the crater as screaming from a soldier.
"...We need to alseast one of us to get back to Mobene." Locatus said to the others, he grabbed the cowboy repeater strapped to his back, hidden by his poncho.
"Then we kill them here!" One of the Explorers said while peeking out of cover. He took aim, looking down at sights but…
"No!" Locatus shouted to stop him but was too late as a loud boom marked his end. The brave or foolish Explorer's head was gone as red mist filled its spot, blood covered the other 2 Explorers.
"Shit! A Motherfucking Ranger!" Locatus shouted without thinking, slightly reverting to his old self. He tried to think of something. He quickly loaded a few bullets into his repeater.
"...Got any Molotovs?" Locatus asked while prepping his gun. The Explorer nodded and handed some.
"Got some here…What is your plan?" The Explorer asked, Locatus took the rag out of the bottle.
"We need a smoke screen…Sorry brother…" Locatus said solemnly as he dumped the fluid on the headless Explorer.
"Locatus!?" The shocked Explorer said. Locatus grabbed the headless corpse legs.
"We need to get moving! C'mon!" Locatus shouted at him. The Explorer broke out of his stupor, grabbing his fallen brother's shoulders. They tossed the body outside the crater as the soldiers started shooting the body, Locatus looked at the corpse before he struck his lighter.
"Thanks for your devotion to Caesar." The Explorer said as Locatus looked at him. Then tossed his lighter on the corpse lighting it a blaze. The Legionnaire's corpse, clothes and items served as good kindling, the fire grew taller as the Molotov fluid changed the smoke to pitch back.
"Put it out before it spreads!" One of the Soldiers yelled as they had their gun up. More soldiers ran to the corpse. Locatus jumped out of the smoke attacking a soldier, He grabbed the rifle slamming into the soldier's face stunning them, Locatus threw the rifle behind him, The Explorer grabbed it and aimed at the other soldiers while crouching behind Locatus. Locatus grabbed the stunned soldier and used them as a human shield.
"Don't act dumb!" Locatus said to the Human shield while pulling out his side arm, A 9mm Grease Gun. Locatus pulled the trigger firing at the 2 other soldiers while making sure to keep his shield in front of the sniper.
"Who the hell are these guys?!" A soldier said aloud as they kept their guns trained on the Imperial look alikes. The fire spread to other human and wyvern corpses that littered the battlefield.
"C'mon move it! " Locatus shouted to the other Explorer. They both backed away from the base to a nearby tree line. The Soldiers moved up following them.
"Get the fuck back or I'll blow his brains across the dirt!" Locatus shouted at the two soldiers while threatening his hostage with the Grease Gun. The Inferno grew larger around the battlefield. As they hit the tree line, The Explorer got out from cover.
"Let's get out of her-" The Explorer was cut off by a series of bullets hitting his body, Locatus looked to the source seeing the 2 Soldiers were being backed up by 12 more soldiers. The Explorer using the last of his strength fired, hitting a few soldiers before falling to the ground.
"Who do you think you guys are? Fucking Heroes?!" Locatus shouted with rage, he grabbed his last frag, pulling the pin and throwing it into his shield's tac vest. Locatus shoved his human shield to the squad of soldiers. Locatus ran to the explorer pulling him over, carrying the injured Explorer on his shoulders and ran into the trees.
'Back to Mobene and reign fire to these fuckers…' Locatus thought as he ran north back to base. In the distance the grenade went off, Locatus could only hope he took some of the soldiers with it. As Locatus ran through a lush green forest as it slowly transformed into a dark dank swamp. Locatus could no longer hear their footsteps as he ran further and further.
Locatus' legs felt weak as he trudged through the knee deep water, eventually he hit dry land in the middle of the swamp. Locatus let down the bleeding Explorer, who was unresponsive. Locatus took away the stolen rifle in his grip. He also took off the Explorer's legion armor, looking at his wounds, he pulled out a pouch of healing powder using it on the Explorer's wounds, better than eating the bitter powder. The Explorer's wounds started healing over a minute then stopped with blood slowly dripping out of his bullet wounds. Locatus started to check for a heartbeat, to which he found none.
"Shit…" Was all Locatus could say about the death of his 2nd Explorer. Locatus sat down and checked his own wounds, his scavenged Recon armor protected him but just barely, a few bullets hit his torso, gone unnoticed due to adrenaline. Locatus pulled out his own healing powder munching on it, if Locatus was still a recruit he may have thrown up. After Locatus finished the medicine, he rested his head on a tree while his Explorer's corpse was only 5 meters away from him.
"Nothings changed…" Locatus said, thinking of another massive mistake in his planning in the past. He remembered his casino heist well. The Bishop goons' dead bodies littered the floor of the Shark Club, The bullets flying in the streets of New Reno, NCR Police kept coming no matter how many they killed. The long walk back to his tribe alone, only to realize the Legion got to them first. Locatus shook those thoughts as he stood up with a stern look.
"I am not going to die in a fucking swamp!" Locatus shouted with determination and rage. Locatus walked to the Explorer's corpse, searching for ammo and his remaining weapons, He had a Howa Type 64 rifle and a 10mm pistol. Locatus stood up and started walking north.

The Imperials met to discuss in the senate, about the loss of not only one but two gates. A man named Marquis Casel stood in the center of the building in front of a hundred senators and the Emperor himself.
"My lord, The gate's situation is a complete failure." Marquis said loudly enough for all to hear. Many senators started whispering to each other.
"I regret to inform you that we lost over 60% of the Imperial Army! How do you suggest we respond to the situation? How do you intend to lead the nation in the face of such a crisis?" The Senator asked his Emperor. Many people wait for the answer.
"Easy, Maruis Casle. No doubt things seem untenable at the moment. But yes it appears all advantages we had completely evaporated. But I believe what actually troubles you is whether or not our so-called "Allies" could combine and rebel against us. Am I correct?" The Emperor asked the Senator standing on the floor.
"That's the true threat is it not? Every time we find our back to the wall The whole nation comes together to overcome said hardship and grow stronger from it, My dear Marquis. I will not hold anyone at fault as you cannot win every battle in war. I'm sure neither the Marquis nor the Senate which to in engage in these debates…Rather than keep the Capital from the hands of two unknown enemy forces." The Emperor said to the Senate. Everyone broke into talk, whispers and even some laughter at Marquis' expense.
"So what are these plans, your majesty?" A elderly man said walking to Marquis.
"Two days is all it took for the Army at Alnus to fall to them. They even built a base of operations there! And that's not including Geminus Hill as well. They repealed our attack with their own beast, it ripped and tore through our men like they were paper. There were also reports of one of their Generals surviving a great fall while in an inferno! It seems as if every soldier from the gates is a Magic user casting fire!" The man finished but no one had time to respond as the Senate broke into arguments and shouting. But all the noise was silenced by the Emperor raising his hand.
"Waiting for the situation to worsen won't solve anything! Therefore…we must stand and fight!" The Emperor said to his Senate who were surprised at the words.
"Send messengers as far and wide as their horse will take them. Tell them we need their assistance in repelling the invading forces and we need them now!" The Emperor stood tall in front of his throne.
"Make it so! Have Godu, Rino, Gwaban and all of the allied Kingdoms rally to us! It's time to retake The Twin Gates, starting with Alnus hill!" He shouted with determination as the Senate roared with excitement except one Marquis walked to the throne.
"Your Imperial Majesty, I fear that the battles ahead will be a bloody endeavor." Marquis told the Emperor, to which he smiled devilishly.
Quest Completed: Music For The Masses.
Nuntius was walking through Fort Mobene while listening to his newly installed radio tower, he even found some more music holotapes at Vegas radio station. When Rome was taken by the Legion, the Courier wanted to keep the A.I. running because "It be alot cooler if you did." to quote the Mojave Legate. Caesar chuckled at the request and allowed it.
"Listen to that music! Raindrops are falling on my head, Just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed~" The Courier sang as his Pip-Boy played [Fort Mobene Radio]
"Nothing seems to fit, those raindrops keep falling on head they keep falling~" The Courier sang his heart out if you'd seen it you'd be called crazy…that's if they didn't know Nuntius. As the song ended, he was glad to return to form. A radio station tuned in the new world, ready for adventure.
"Howdy folks, It's your Lonesome Drifter here, Legate Nuntius asked me to come here, and well…wish you guys some luck in attacking those fellers in this here new world…" The voice of The Tops most requested show came over the Pip-Boy. The Courier had to pull some strings to bring him through the Gate, but The Courier thought it was just, considering the lack of entertainment for the Mojave Legate.
"You know I've had some Deathclaw skin boots in my life but you can never go wrong with…"Snakeskin Boots" by Jack Wall" The Drifter told his audience as the instruments introduced them.
"Street's are a flame. It's a mad game, makes you stop and stare. Need an assist, you can't resist, we'll make quite a pair~" The lyrics came in as The Courier enjoyed the new song he found.
"Legate Nuntius!" The Courier stopped listening and turned to a Legion Decanus.
"What happened? He asked the Soldier.
"Legate Lanius Requests your presence at the War Tent." The Decanus said to the Legate. The Courier thought about it for a moment then thought about Lanius begging for him to show up.
"I'll be there Immediately!" The Courier lied as he walked away. The Decanus stopped him.
"Legate Lanius also told me if you responded like that to tell you, "It will cure your boredom." his words." The Decanus finished. The Courier looked thought about more seriously this time.
"Alright, I'll be there." He told the Decanus, who thanked him and left. The Courier started walking to the War Tent. When got there, he entered the tent, seeing Lanius and a group of Centurions and Vulpes Inculta.
"Vulpes?" The Courier asked, wondering why he wasn't in Rome.
"Nuntius, Glad you joined us." Vulpes said, taking off his goggles and dog head.
"About time…" Lanius said, probably pissed that the Courier took a detour to enjoy his new radio station.
"Well I'm here now, What are we discussing?" The Courier asked while looking at the table.
"We are sending out patrols into the New World." Vulpes said. The Courier was a bit surprised. It seemed a bit cocky on the Legion's part.
"This seems a bit…how do I say? Stupid? We don't even know what is out in this world." The Courier argued.
"That's exactly why, We need information about the world. Every one of my Explorer groups I've sent out has returned, except one, Locatus' group. They haven't come back." Lanius told Nuntius. He got what the Legate was saying.
"That's where you come in, Nuntius, We put together a Contubernia for you. Either find Locatus' group…or get retribution for them." Lanius said menacingly. Nunitus considered shooting him but gave in, he'd be less bored trying to find Locatus.
"Fine, but if you fuck this up! I'm blaming you!" Nuntius said as started to walk out. Vulpes Looked at Lanius with a smirk as he walked to the exit. Nuntius left the tent but stopped by Vulpes.
"Nuntius…" The Courier turned to him waiting for him to speak.
"I just wanted to tell you about Umbra. He's a Frumentarii joining your Contubernia." Vulpes said.
"Umbra? Quite the name…" The Courier said, scrutinizing the name.
"Indeed, his tribe was found in a cave system near Two Sun, he grew up in the darkness, perfect for a Frumentarii." The Courier eyed the sneak of a man, looking for his angle.
"Uh huh, So what's the deal? Why are you so attached to him?" The Courier asked.
"Just a person who has an…eye on his future career" Vulpes said with his Frumentarii accent. Nuntius just shook his head.
"Fine, I'll keep an eye on him too." Nuntius said while walking away. Vulpes smiled devilishly and thanked the Legate. The Courier headed to his tent, he was done with the day. Then he saw his Contubernia standing outside. Centurion Antigonus was spotted first. He wore his old modified Veteran Ranger armor. Next was…Leonius, The Courier remembered meeting him as a Recruit in the battle for Helios after the 2nd battle of Hoover Dam.
"Leonius, Vexillarius right? Glad to see your skill reflects your rank" He wore a Yao Guai pelt over his heavy combat armor painted Legion crimson, His right arm wore a heavily armored leather sleeve. He also bore the Legion's Bull flag on his back. His boots were armored by Ranger armor.
"Ahh, Legate Nuntius! It's been too long. The same could be said for you!" He said with a smile as he added more barbed wire to his baseball bat.
"And don't worry my skill didn't degrade, Lux made sure it didn't" Leonius motioned to his bloody bat. The Courier was confused.
"Ahh my bad, that's her name, she is a vampire bat!" He said with a hardy laugh. Nuntius chuckled before going to the new guy.
"And you must be Umbra?" Nuntius asked the Frumentarii. He wore typical Legion light armor except his crimson shirt had long sleeves. The Football pads mixed with Imperial armor from the battle of Rome. His helmet was an Imperial helmet adorned with Legion colors, he wore dark tactical goggles with a breathing mask on his mouth.
"Indeed, it's good to meet you, Legate." Umbra stood up nodding towards the Legate then silence.
"Being a man of few words would help with Frumentarii work." The Courier awkwardly laughed, but Umbra didn't. The Courier walked to Antigonus, who was fiddling with his 45. Pistol a gift from Nuntius.
"Why are you guys at my tent?!" The Courier asked while whispering. Antigonus looked up to the Legate.
"Hey, don't look at me, they wanted to meet you. I just supplied the info." Antigonus said with his hands up. The Legate was kinda pissed but too tired to care.
"Look, we'll all meet tomorrow and kumbaya and all that. Just let me sleep." The Courier pleaded with his Centurion.
"Kumba…What? Y'know what I don't need to know." Antigonus said, clearly understanding Nuntius' personality.
"Alright let's head back to the Contubernia tent." The two nodded listening to their Centurion. The Courier waved them bye sarcastically before walking into his tent. Playing [Fort Mobene Radio].
"(You think we can stay here for the night it looks like a Noble's manor?)" A woman with a worried expression asked the man next to her. They stood outside of a giant decrepit building standing 61 meters tall in the middle of a forest. The grass moved towards the entrance before being cut by pavement similar to the Imperial capital. The entrance had a small gate walled off by metal barricades. They had a symbol of a sword surrounded by some type of wheels carried by wings.
"(Should we? is the real question…) The man told her as he pushed open the gate to the small garrison adorned by the same symbol. There were many things in front of them but what they saw first was some pitch black statues with green glowing crystals growing, they were in pained poses. Some were on the floor curled up, others were reaching towards the sky, and another was holding its head in pain.
"(What are these men, they're as big as orcs!) Man shouted in surprise, They were dead on the ground over 6 meters in length. They wore weird bulking armor with the same symbol as the building. They had a weird staff next to them, the woman took note that they were also magic users.
"(S-should we go in t-then?) The woman said nervously. She'd have to tell the Emperor about this place, maybe these people are the ones Alnus or Geminus and if they're magic users they're very dangerous. She then heard a grunt behind them,They both turned to the statues. One of the statues moved, it looked like a burned corpse as the red flesh humanoid looked angry at them. It held a metal staff in their hand.
"Always…one!" It shouted before a loud bang was heard. The woman looked down to her stomach where a sharp pain was felt, her legs gave out as more blood fell.
"(What in god's name!) Man shouted in panic. He looked around and saw more "statues" starting to move at the noise.
"Can't…stop…run…" one of them pleading said as they started to sprint at the man. The man turned and ran from the structure. As he ran into the forest, he felt the creature nip at his heels.
'(I have to tell Coda Village!)' Man thought as he ran from the demons. But then out of nowhere he was tackled from the side by a Humanoid.
"Purify!" it shouted as it attacked him. He screamed in fear. The many Humanoid creatures that were chasing caught up as they surrounded him. They beat him down, scratched and bit him.
"Not…us…you! Dead!" it shouted as it ripped off his arm. The man screamed in pain as he reached for the sky, to the gods that abandoned him.
Inside the building a Terminal auto played a holotape.
"This is Fire Breather, Raighanne Torrence! We're getting rolled by a Scorchbeast, attacking the Brotherhood base, Fort Defiance. There are more Scorched trying to break through…" There was the sound of gunfire and explosions over the holotape.
"Aiden! Get the 50. Cal to the left side! Move! Move!" She shouted to someone away from the microphone.
"We're working with The Brotherhood to repel the attack! We need back up from…Anyone! Brotherhood, Responder! Hell, even Raider!" She shouted as metal groaned in the background.
"Setting this message to a Brotherhood transmitter on repeat!...Knight Grant on me!..." She shouted before the message ended then replayed.
I will probably make another chapter soon, since I was planning on showing The Courier's journey to find Locatus. but thought it was best it get the chapter out. let me know if you enjoy it love to see it. I don't know callsigns in japan so i'm using american callsigns, hope it doesn't bother anyone.
Also I made a playlist on spotify to complement the story it's [Fort Mobene Radio]. if you want to check it out.
