I woke up to the feeling of myself bouncing up and down. I was in the fetal position in a small red room. I would stretch but I was cramped. It was disorienting as hell. What happened while I was asleep? I tried sitting up. Ziiiip. My head popped out of whatever I was in and I looked around.

Ed was carrying me on his back! In my own backpack! I saw Rin not too far behind. Terra and Fraya behind her.

"Good morning. Your up early."

"What is this!? What happened?"

"Oh, you wouldn't wake up for some odd reason. No matter how much we tried shaking you awake, so Ed did some quick thinking."

"Howdy." He greeted.

"So, you don't try and splash me with water?"

"Oh I tried that. You musta been tuckered right out from last night."

I felt my face. It was damp. Damn.

"So can I come out now?"

"Nope."

"What?! Why not? Am I not heavy? Please set me down!"

The trio was chuckling.

"No you ain't heavy. And I ain't stopping. Consider it a favour for putting up yer guns in the most intense battle of my life."

"But I want out! Please?"

"You were obviously too tuckered to wake up, so you shyaint walk."

I knew that was southern for I'm not budging. It meant you shouldn't, can't and you ain't. All three at once. I sighed. This was humiliating and very uncomfortable. I tried standing up.

"I wouldn't do that."

I stood up fully and almost climbed out, but I was cast by a dizzy spell. I sank back into the bag with a thud. It felt like I was going to vomit and my head throbbed. Thankfully though it subsided.

"You ok sky?" Rin was concerned.

"Its fine Rin. Also Ed you might be onto something there. I feel sick."

"Told ya, shyaint walking."

"I know what shyaint means. I just didn't think you actually meant it with the can't part of that."

He chuckled. "Are ye sure you ain't a rancher or at least from the south?"

"No, I think I've just been around."

"Ah. I see."

There was a silence for a while. I was watching the trees pass. I could hear occasional conversations from in front or behind us. Sometimes It would even be Fraya or Terra talking.

After what seemed like an eternity I heard Sam shouting from the front.

"First mystery dungeon is up ahead. We will regroup on the other end to make sure everyone makes it through."

I started sulking. My body really picked a bad day to cop out. How would I make myself less of a dumbbell? Then I realized something. I can still throw aura spheres.

"I can still help out if you need."

Ed started laughing. "No way in hell. In any other sitiation you can no doubt. But ye cant exactly move right about now."

I frowned. "I can still use aura sphere, its a ranged attack."

"Huh?! Oh ye, I forgot about that! Yea feel free to lob a couple. Jus don't push yerself."

A couple more minutes of walking went by. Then the path started twisting and bending, an obvious sign that we were in the dungeon now. Eventually I lost sight of everyone, Including Rin. She was literally right behind us! I hope she managed to stick with a partner.

As Ed pressed on we started encountering enemies. He was too fast at taking them from the front, he left me no chances to help out. Or so I thought. There was a lil bipedal dude that was hiding around the bend and Ed didn't notice. Bwoom!

Ed spun around. I guess he puzzled what had happened.

"Thanks, I owe ya one."

"Nah, I owed you that one."

He laughed and we pressed on. He continued around twists and turns. We were making steady progress and after a couple flights of stairs later, we came out to a straight path again. Sam was waiting for us. It looked like we were the first through. Ed sat down next to where Sam was standing around. We waited.

"You still doin good back there lil S?"

"Yep. Im fine." I tried standing up again and It was an instant nope. I sat back down clutching my head.

"How did you know by the way?"

"Hmm?"

"How did you know that I would be sick today?"

"Well, I punched you pretty darned bad. And I hit ye withn a crashing wave. I was surprised you won that, but it was barely. You were on yer last legs, plus you didnt wake up this mornin. I mean I was worse off then you but I had gotn a revival seed."

"Ah, makes sense now. Can I have one of those?"

"Sorry bud, I only stocked one."

I sighed. Looks like Im not getting out of this bag any time soon. I hope I didn't have to spend the entire trip like this. A few more minutes passed by and we could see more start to make it through the dungeon. As time went on, it eventually got to the last of us. Terra showed up somewhere in between everyone, but Fraya and Rin were the last ones out.

"Alright, everyone is here. We should get going. We are burning daylight." Sam shouted.

Ed stood up and we were off again. I continued to watch the trees pass by. Eventually I caught wind of the trio catching up to me and Ed.

"Hey, were you guys ok in the dungeon back there?"

"Huh, me and Rin were fine. We just got a little lost halfway through."

"Yea don't worry so much."

That was a relief. I was disappointed still that I couldn't walk with them. At least I was here with them though. I mean, from what I got from last night sam would've carried me himself if Ed didn't use my bag to carry me. And another thing Ironically, my bag was the only one that fit me inside somewhat comfortably. It was weird to think that I was in the bag that was on my back a day ago. It was still bothering me though being cramped in here.

We all pressed on for what seemed like hours. We only had the sun to keep the time. I knew standing up was a no go but I wanted to badly. I felt useless in here. Plus it was getting very uncomfortable.

Ziiip. I started to unzip the side where my legs where. Then I threw my legs out, stretching them out while I was at it. Ziiip. I zipped the Ed's left side closed so It would support my head. Then I leaned back.

I felt a wave of built up stress expelling from my soul. I was somewhat comfortable now. I was staring out the gap in the bag. It was dimmer in here now and the red glow was easy on my eyes.

"Are you sure you're not tired from carrying me?"

"Ye it ain't no burden. Besides, yer backpack is the most comfertable Ive tried on. Whatsun these doohickeys called that tighten around the arms?"

"Shoulder straps? If you want to reverse engineer them it would be pretty easy to mimic the design. Though you dont have nylon."

"Nye.. lawn? Whuts that?"

"Its ahh, plastid based polymer that can mimic cotton or silk, is 10 ish times stronger and we cant make it yet. We would need diamino hexanine, sebacoyl chloride and salt. And the reaction would be very crude, so either a crude product, small yield or both."

"Uhhhh, whut language is that? Definitely not from ours is it?"

"I guess not. Sorry if thats gibberish to you."

"Okay? I dunt know a thing about that but ye I reckon I could figure this shoulder strap out."

I was rambling again. Like It mattered. How am I going to make nylon when cotton or silk suffices. The world doesn't need it yet. I wonder if they kept silk worm trees? Or maybe they use spider silk? Do they know about silk yet? They gotta have some sort of silk road.

I used my aura vision to start looking around. It was cloudy at first but the more I focused, the more came into view. We were on the side of a mountain, climbing up on a path. Sam led the group like last time. There was nothing else but us on the mountain. I felt heavy strain however.

It was coming from Ed. He was sweating. I guess the incline was getting to him. He was burning energy through his legs with each step, his power slowly dimming. Is aura just pure energy or something? That gave me an idea. I pressed both my palms onto Eds back.

"Wh, huff. What r u doin?"

I focused aura and slowly fed him my aura. Slow enough that I wouldn't accidentally force palm him. I hope it works.

"I huh, I feel ncomfertable with yer hands on my back! Wait, when did you become this light?"

"I put my hands on your back because, im feeding you aura. I.. gotta help out.. somehow." I was getting dizzy. But it wasn't painful at least.

I was zoning in and out. All the energy he was now burning was coming from me. Hopefully I had enough energy to hold him over for now.

"I reckon sam made the right choice making you S ranker."

I was broken out of my trance. "What makes you say that all the sudden?"

"Well, starts bein honest. I thought you would be out of the game completely for at least day or morrow. But yer finding ways."

-This kids good, Its like when I had just woken up! Ive been restored cmpletely.-

I accidentally read his thoughts. Damn. I wondered how Lucario managed this. Reading aura without hearing any thoughts. Or if he could.

We eventually made it to the top of the mountain. It was a two hour ish hike. I was raising and lowering my output to him as I got tired. He was feeling the burn of the hike a bit. I noticed it from the incline. Steep path.

I looked around making sure not to lose focus. Everyone was dying on the walk up. Everyone except for sam. It seemed like he used to climb mountains everyday. Maybe even rock climbing.

Alot of them were sipping on canteens on the way up. I hoped there was a glacier. I focused on the path ahead. I noticed that I could see details really far ahead. It was almost like I was seeing out of my body as I focused further. I could control my viewing angle, like that one freecam minecraft hack. This was dope.

"We have 300 paces left up the mountain. Were close to the summit."

"Huh? How are ye doing that? How can ye see that farr? Aint you blind in there?"

"Oh, I can see with aura. Id say its ten times better than normal eyesight. Even if my eyes stopped working I could still see."

"Aint that neat? How many tricks does this pony got?"

"Alot? I mean, I guess I can breathe underwater too?"

He started laughing hysterically. "Aint no way, you're not a water type."

"Well, why don't we go for a swim later."

He stopped chuckling to himself.

"Are ye really being serious?"

"Yea hes being serious. I saw it happen. He was gone for two days after mienshao tried drowning him. We all thought he had died." Rin overheard us and cut in.

"Dang, Im excited to see this. Its not everyday ye meet a non water type who can potentially join the ocean squad."

"Ocean squad? Whats that?" I asked.

"Oh, Sam needs us water types sometimes fer specialized water type jobs. So sam made whut he called a squad rather than a team. Mainly because the squad aint my real team. Just other water types I get paired with."

"Ah, yea. Maybe Ill talk to sam. That sounds like fun."

"Oh it is! Theres no place like the ocean. The colourful coral reefs, the ruins sometimes. None a place like it."

"Sky, do you think maybe that It could've been a fluke?" Fraya cut in this time.

"What do you mean a fluke? I woke up on the bottom of a lake! Anyone have water? Ill try it right now."

"Im out." Rin said.

"Pass yer flask."

Rin passed Ed her water flask from out of her bag. My face melted into disgust. He spat water into the flask.

"Gross, no way im inhaling that."

"Well I exhaled her full. An don't wory, my mouth aint touch nothing you wouldnt."

He threw the flask into the bag onto my lap. I hesitated, but I kinda wanted to show off to fraya. Ziip. I unzipped the bag and looked at fraya and them. I hope she wasn't right. Everyone was watching.

I exhaled fully, then put the bag of water to my mouth and inhaled. I almost coughed but it subsided and just felt like heavy air. I was breathing in and out making the bag expand and shrink with each breath. The look on her face was priceless. Rin was surprised too.

"How are you doing that?!"

I used my other hand to present my necklace. It was glowing a nice blue again. I could feel it pulling from my energy, I didn't notice before. I started limiting the input to the necklace. Big mistake. The necklace stopped glowing.

"Almost to the top now everyone!" Sam shouted as I started choking on water.

Chlcgk! I focused my efforts into lighting the necklace back up. I was silent as the pain in my lungs subsided, water dripping from my mouth.

"You ok sky?!" Rin asked concerned.

I nodded a yes. I leaned over and tried exhaling all the water out. Then I got confused when it seemed to stream out for too long. I tried for what seemed like half a minute. The four of them stopped, they were all watching me. I kept spitting water.

"I didn't give em that much water.."

I tried stopping the flow to the necklace again but still spitting the water. It finally stopped. I was panting out of breath.

"So yer a water type riolu?"

"No, huff, not exactly. Whhah. Its my necklace. I.. think it changes my type." I caught my breath.

"Thats nifty id reckon. I wonder If I can teach ya a move." He started walking again.

The rest of my team followed. In short time we joined the others at the summit. Everyone was resting at the top exhausted from the journey behind us, I was glad enough to feel a little bit of that with them. Ed took me off his back and sat down.

I couldn't see the view from inside the bag, and my aura vision cut out around where we were on the mountain. Limited scope. Like the peripherals you lose through a telescope. Ziip. I looked around from where I was sitting.

We were now on the peak, and I could see the river cutting through the valley below. It was our destination. I turned to the left and I couldn't make out where the coast was anymore. It was great.

I took a huge breath of air suddenly. It was like my brain was gasping for air. After a rush through all my senses I felt an utter calm that felt familiar to the beach. But something was wrong in it. I didn't feel satisfied.

I tried one last desperate attempt to stand up. I felt all of the blood rushing out of my head. I let it. I kept commanding my brain to stand. I took a step out of the bag, then another.

"Sky?!"

I felt my brain disconnect from my body, but I remained standing. What looked and sounded like tv static filled my ears and vision. I.. had.. to… deserve…. It.

Terra POV

Sky was acting strange muttering to himself. Was he ok? He got up, though he shouldn't. Hes still technically knocked out. I ran over to him.

"Hey Sky?"

No response. He was staring blankly past me. I poked him on the forehead. Big mistake.

"Whoa!"

He fell on top of me. I carried him on my back towards the bag. After dumping him back in I moved him to how he was earlier. Ziip. His legs were left poking out. I sighed and lied myself down next to him.

Rin was hovering over the bag. I was hoping that she wouldn't talk to me about that.

"Is sky okay? He needs to learn when to rest."

"Thats true, but we know now that we need to hide some reviver seeds for em. Or if one of us could learn a move."

"Huh? A move? Like what chancy does with the bell?"

"Yea. Ive been trying but I cant find one I can learn other than rest."

"Isnt that the one where you fall asleep during combat?"

"Yea, Its not good for me. I cant learn sleep talk."

"I knew sleep talk once I reckon. Twas a problem witn my team. Id wake up to find our rooms a disaster n unconscious teammates. So I unlearned it."

"Did you use a tm?" Rin asked.

"Nah, it came naturally. And plus it ruins my move synergy."

I looked over at Rin. I couldn't learn a healing move, but she could. I remembered reading. The move moonlight. She was blessed by a legendary and didn't even know it.

"Hey Rin? How far along are you with moves?"

"Huh? What do you mean?" Rins blue rings started glowing purple in the sunset. I was almost distracted.

"Duhh umm, you know how we learn a move set as we get older depending on our species? Like whats the newest move you learned?"

"Oh, well after I evolved I learned confuse ray."

"Perfect. I-"

Sam cut me off. "Its time to go, get in gear! Half an hour left!"

Everyone started groaning and getting up.

"Ill talk to you later at the camp."

Rin POV

I was worrying about sky. Terra took care of him on the mountain but he didn't wake up yet. He missed dinner. I was staring at the bag intently. I wished I could do something. I was poked on the shoulder.

I looked behind me. Terra was.. I couldn't sniff her intentions. She needed my attention for something though.

"What is it?"

"Uhh, can you follow me? I umm. You. Hmm. Its for, uh for-"

"You don't need to explain." I stood up ready to follow.

"Ok uh good, this way."

I was mostly confused but I followed terra into the woods away from the fire and everyone. We followed the nearby river for a while before terra eventually stopped.

"Here seems good."

We had stopped in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. I was watching terra with half concern half intrigue.

"Okay, uhh. Lets start I guess. Do you feel anything going on with the moonlight?"

"Huh?" I looked around. The moonlight was lighting our surroundings. I didn't notice too much about it.

"Terra why are we here? I don't feel anything off about the moonlight."

She shook her head. "No I mean just… are you sure you don't feel anything yet?"

"No I.. I…"

I didn't notice before but I started to. The light started to feel warmer for some reason. It felt good. I felt it start to wash over me and I closed my eyes. My strength that I had exhausted from the day returned to me. I felt almost fully rejuvenated.

"You did it Rin!"

I opened my eyes looking at Terra. The moonlight was almost as bright as day now. After a couple seconds it dimmed down again.

"I did what?"

"Oh! Yea, I never explained. You know a healing move! You just learned how to use it. I didn't think taking you out into moonlight would awaken it this easy but you did it!"

I was staring at her. I knew a healing move? Was that what that was just now? I tried focusing on the moon again. The moon started lighting up a circle around us again. That was cool. I felt it drain my energy a bit. I got an idea.

"So this will only work at nighttime, right?"

"No, itl work during the day. But maybe not as well. Youll have to try it. Im glad this worked though. I would've felt like an idiot."

"Clearly not, It might help sky."

We both walked back to the fire. Terra joined with fraya near the fire and I walked over to sky. Ziiip. I opened up the bag. Still out cold.

I started focusing on the moon again. Sky was soaking in some of the moonlight. No response. I sighed and kept going. I wanted to make sure he was good to move tomorrow.

I kept focusing until I felt tired. I went for a good while, felt like a good thousand counts. I was broken out of focus by someone's voice.

"You healed everyone, could you always do that?"

Sam was a bit a ways next to me. He was at the edge of the fire circle. I shook my head at him as a no.

"I see. Well Ill consider this for any future expeditions."

"Do you mean that?" I couldn't help but smile. I would do these everyday if I could.

"Yea, you're team is showing unexpected talent. All four of you have potential, I can see it."

I was giddy. I never expected to be praised by the guild master in a million years.

"Thank you! Ill do my best!" I responded.

I looked up at the sky. The cosmos in full veiw. I was once again entranced by the pinks and purples of the cosmos. It was still pretty.
