Again, Frankie was awoken by a blaring , alarming alarm. They covered their ears and looked around frantically, "Clawdeen!" Frankie called. The werewolf jolted awake as Frankie took in short, rapid breaths, looking for the danger. They couldn't get their brain to think logically about it
The sound was shut off as Draculaura burst out of her coffin and tapped the screen frantically. All Frankie could feel and hear was their heart beating in their chest.
"Oh my god, I forgot to change it!" Draculaura said as she and Clawdeen exchanged worried looks and gathered by Frankie's bed, "I'm so sorry, Frankie!"
Frankie had yet to remove their hands, still hearing the sound of their heart.
"Frankie?" Clawdeen said softly, reaching out and touching their shoulders.
Frankie flinched violently, looking over at clawdeen. A lloyd pop took over the room as Frankie's shoulder dislocated. Frankie let ould a loud yelp.
"Frankie!" Draculaura stated, "Are you ok?"
Frankie came back to themself and looked around, moving their hands. "Um, yes? Sorry."
They tried to roll their shoulders but, of course, still dislocated.
They reached over to use their other arm to brace themselves to get out of bed before grabbing their arm. "Um, Can I please get a little help?"
Clawdeen nodded, grabbing Frankie's upper arm. Frankie pulled and felt their shoulders pop back in place. "Thanks."
"I am so sorry Frankie!" Draculaura said, rapidly tapping on her phone, "What sounds would work?"
"Not a siren?" They stated, "Maybe just a normal clock?" they suddenly felt conscious, "Is that okay to ask?"
"Of course! It's your room too." Draculaura said, "Are you okay?"
Frankie tried to shake off their sudden feeling of self-consciousness and smiled at their friends, "Yep! Thank you!"
They then grabbed their toiletry bag and headed to the bathroom.
Later, the three of them went to breakfast and found a table together. It was a lot less crowded than lunch and dinner. According to their observation, a lot of monsters grabbed quick snacks in the mornings so they could sleep longer.
"How about this one?" Draculaura said, playing a loud alarm that sounded like the grandfather in their living room at home.
Frankie grinned, "Perfect! Anything that isn't a siren would work though."
Draculaura smiled, seemingly pleased with herself.
They soon split up, Draculaura having a different first period than Frankie and Clawdeen.
"Lose any more pieces, jigsaw." Cleo asked from her seat across from Frankie and Clawdeen.
"Did you gain any more pimples?" Clawdeen chimed in.
Frankie understood now that Cleo was making fun of them. Clawdeen was quick to come to their defense and they really appreciated it.
"I was serious last night, Deuce is way out of your league." Cleo stated.
Frankie then remembered a detail from their introduction to the gorgon, "Didn't Deuce break up with you?" Frankie questioned out loud, "Wouldn't that mean he didn't think you were in his league."
Frankie heard Clawdeen snort and slap her hand over her mouth to refrain from laughing. A couple other people snickered around them.
Cleo looked like she was trying to say something but couldn't form the words. Then, she looked at the girl sitting next to her, "I'm sure you are plenty in Deuce's league, you're just out of his."
Frankie noticed they had gills, common in amphibians. They wondered what powers she had that allowed her to breath on land.
Frankie noticed the teacher walk in so they simply shrugged and opened their Calculus book.
"Way to go, Frankie." Clawdeen whispered.
They didn't know what Clawdeen was praising them for but they smiled nonetheless.
Frankie had a period before lunch today and it wasn't with Clawdeen or Draculaura. When they exited out of the classroom, they were greeted with utter chaos. They did attempt to meld in with the other students but they barely got two steps before someone slammed into them.
They were thinking of retreating back into the classroom but they were shoved right into the crowed by an oncoming wave behind them. It was suffocating. Pounding of feet and random conversations with no reason to them. They also realize that they were built a lot smaller than most of the monsters at the school so it just looked like a wall of bodies that kept bumping into saw a divvet in the wall next to a pillar so, they managed to press themselves into it and close their eyes so they at least, couldn't see the chaos.
"Frankie!" came a voice that Frankie recognized. They looked up and couldn't see the owner of the voice. They closed their eyes again and tried to gain control of their breathing..
"Frankie."
Frankie's eyes shot open and saw Draculaura now right beside them.
"Oh, thank goodness." Frankie sighed, "How was your undead anatomy class?"
Conversation helped pull their focus almost instantly.
"It was fine." Draculaura said, Puzzled as she saw her friend pressed into a wall. "Are you doing okay?"
"Oh! Yes!" Frankie stated, "Everyone is so packed together that it's a bit overwhelming."
Draculaura looked like she had a spark of recognition on her own, "You want to walk with me?"
"Yes." Frankie said thankfully, following Draculaura's lead into the crowd, "I never knew there could be so many different monsters in one place."
"Yeah, monster high is really popular." Draculaura said, "It's the only all monster highschool in the world."
"You think there are monsters in human schools?" Frankie asked.
Draculaura seemed to think hard about that question, "Probably a few, especially half-monsters that aren't allowed to go to monster high. Some are probably homeschooled."
Frankie's thoughts drifted to their other friend, "I think that's kind of sad. Hyde was barred from monster high and because of that, he was hunted and killed by humans."
"You're only 17 days old." Draculaura stated, "You haven't seen how much fear can really drive people."
They arrived at the Coffin Bean and spotted Clawdeen. Frankie Waved, "Clawdeen!"
Clawdeen looked up and waved excitedly back at them.
They sat down with the werewolf and got down to business.
Clawdeen grabbed them all drinks before Draculaura got her notebook out. Frankie wasn't entirely sure what the drink was but they really enjoyed it.
"For the mist or releasing spell, there's a few ingredients we need to find." Draculaura stated
"Like a scavenger hunt?" Frankie questioned, "I love it."
"Most of these are easy" She continued. "Witch hazel, rosemary, mayonnaise."
Mayonnaise was useful in witchcraft? Odd, Frankie thought.
"Some are a lot harder." Draculaura huffed, "Powdered mace wing, ogre bone-"
"Ogre bone?" Clawdeen chimed in, "Bloodgood's mug! It's pure ogre bone."
Draculaura lit up, "We just need to find a tome when she's out of her office, then shave a little bone off the mug."
Frankie felt a spark of excitement when they realized their photographic could help. "9:17 a.m."
They noted Clawdeen and Draculaura gave them odd, confused looks.
"Huh?" Draculaura asked.
"Every morning at exactly 9:17, she leaves her office and uses the bathroom." Frankie said, "She's very regular." Frankie tended to pass by around the same time on their way to their locker.
Clawdeen and Draculaura exchanged odd looks. Frankie suddenly felt self conscious. They realized how...weird that made them sound.
"Okay, don't worry, it's not like I have a thing for tracking everyone's bathroom habits or anything." Frankie attempted to explain, "My brain just remembers everything, including everything that everyone does, ever." Frankie looked at the vampire, "Did you know that you moisten your lips every 32-34 seconds."
Draculaura blinked, "What?" she seemed confused.
Frankie was just as confused because it was her body, how did she not know that. Was it not normal for monsters to do that?
"So tomorrow," Clawdeen said, "Bloodgood hits the lavatory at 9:17, we sneak in and shave the mug."
Draculaura moistened her lips right on schedule.
"There, you just did it. 34 seconds." Frankie told Draculaura.
Draculaura sucked on her lips and looked at her book and listed off more ingredients, ignoring Frankie's comment, only ever glancing at Clawdeen.
"Sorry." Frankie said when she was done. "Did I do something wrong?"
Draculaura met Clawdeen's eyes before speaking, "No? It's just…weird having someone point out your quirks."
Frankie frowned, "Oh, sorry, I can't help it sometimes."
Draculaura shrugged and nodded with an understanding.
"So what can vampires do?" Frankie asked.
"Oh, well, we are super fast, strong, suck blood and turn into bats. Fully matured vampires can even talk to bats."
Frankie grinned, "Cool! How often do you drink blood?"
Draculaura smiled at Frankie's enthusiasm, "I try to have a bit everyday but most vampires only need blood a couple times a week."
"What about you, Frankie?" Clawdeen asked.
"Oh, I can't really do anything." Frankie explained, "Well, I do have genius brain parts, artistic brain parts, and other parts that help me excel at almost anything. Monter wise, I guess I can give a little zap when i'm excited but it's nothing major. I can also take my limbs off and put them back on. Sometimes that's more of an issue than a power."
"Clawdeen nodded and Draculaura studied Frankie for a moment.
"Do you know where all your parts came from?"
Frankie grinned, "Yep! Well, most of them, I haven't read all the records but my parents keep them in a trunk in the lab."
They proceeded to chat for the rest of the lunch hour. Frankie learned Clawdeen had gotten them a chai tea latte because she was afraid to see them if they've had coffee. They weren't entirely sure why but thought that they'd test it out one day.
They shared their next class, so they walked down the hall, through the crowds as a unit, easily moving through the crowds of students.
Soon, they all arrived at the monster sciences classroom. Frankie and Clawdeen sat together while Draculaura sat behind them next to a green monster with pink hair who was talking to a student across from her,
"Oh look, Lagoona." Cleo spoke as she entered the classroom with her friend, "It's the walking experiment and their pet dog."
There was a hollow feeling in their chest again. It made Frankie want to hide themselves away.
"I could just eat you up." Lagoona bared her impossibly sharp teeth at Frankie.
"No, you don't know where they've been." Cleo said, giving Frankie a side eye and smile, "What trash can did your parents even find you in?"
Clawdeen started growling as Frankie felt more and more uncomfortable.
"Actually, my parents have been collecting my parts from around the world for decades." Frankie stated. Their parents took a lot of time and care into making them and they didn't like that Cleo was talking about their parents' work like that.
Cleo laughed mockingly, "And you're proud of that?"
"Wow." Frankie said, opening their notebook, "You're not a good person, are you?"
"Mind your own business, Cleo." Clawdeen said with a glare.
Cleo scoffed but went to sit with Lagoona on the other side of the room.
"Wow, Frankie." Draculaura said, "You actually stumped her. I'm impressed."
"It was just an observation." Frankie said, "Cleo can make fun of me all she wants. I don't need to be friends with someone who insults me and the work my parents put into making me."
Clawdeen grinned, "Way to go, Frankie!" she slapped them on the back, Frankie flinched, "Sorry." The werewolf said sheepishly.
The bell rang, and class began, Frankie was too engrossed with the lesson to worry about anything else.
Frankie met Clawdeen and Draculaura in the dorm after Advanced Mathematics, they were both doing their own thing quietly and Frankie was happy for a bit of silence, but first, they tripped over their left foot and went sprawling. Their foot popped off at the ankle and their hand went flying across the room, hitting Draculaura in the head in her coffin.
"Sorry!" Frankie said, rolling over to use their remaining hand to pop their foot back on
"Are you okay?" Draculaura asked, handing Frankie back their hand.
They popped the limb back into place fairly easily and stood, "Yeah just a little drained. I think I need to recharge."
Draculaura and Clawdeen exchanged looks then shrugged, going back to their own thing.
Frankie put their bag next to their dresser and took a seat in the electric chair and powered it on. It was a good way to end the day.
A/N
So this is all I have fully edited so far. I'm not doing that weekly post schedule BS I did with Scars. I didn't plan this one, it's more or less because I got hyperfixated on it and I needed fanfiction to shake it. There wasn't any that struck me so this was the next best thing.
I'll see you in the next one.
P.S.
Also comment. I like comments. Just don't be rude.
