Back outside Kaleigh ran down the street to get away from the gym. She let out a huge sigh when she was far away from Lt. Surge and his gym. She continued to walk around Vermillion City until she got to the harbour. She looked at all the gigantic ships and then down at Riolu who had ran over to one ship and stretched his paws out while barking. Kaleigh giggled at him and walked over to him.

"You want to go on that?" Kaleigh asked as she looked up at the large ship. Her eyes then lowered to the seawater. She shook her head and crouched down to Riolu. "It would be fun, but I don't think we could get on one." Kaleigh admitted patting Riolu's head.

"Congratulation! You are super lucky, you get to go on a super luxurious sea cruise!" Kaleigh stood up and turned to find two female teenagers talking to her. The one had long orange hair that was pulled back and the other had blonde chin-length hair, both looked as though they got spray tans and dressed in the same outfit of what Kaleigh guessed was school uniforms.

"What?" Kaleigh asked, both her and Riolu looked at each other before back at the teens. "Well it's like you know, we have this incredible super cool ticket for you!" The orange one exclaimed while the blonde chimed in the background.

"CooOOOoool!"

"Cool huh?! This is a ticket to the biggest party ever on board the St. Anne cruise liner." The Orange explained.

"Cooool" The Blonde chimed again.

"Everyone is going to be together and have like the coolest party!"

"Coooooool!"

"And the party's for pokemon trainers only!"

"Cooool!"

"Step this way!" The orange hair girl said while both were gesturing behind them until the blonde giggled.

"It'll be a radical party. All the most radical pokemon trainers will be there."

"Radical?" Kaleigh commented as she blinked a couple times while she stared at the girls.

"Okay dudette here is your ticket!" The orange one said holding out the ticket to Kaleigh who took a step back. "I-I'm sorry, but why give it to me?" Kaleigh questioned.

"Oh, whoa, like you don't understand?" Kaleigh shook her head looking down at Riolu then back at the girls.

"Coooool!"

"Well, like, we have to go out with our boyfriends, but we wanted to cool pokemon fans." The orange one explained to which was followed by another-

"CoooOOOool"

"We saw you and thought you looked really cool, just take it and have a really cool time."

"Oh, thank you." Kaleigh smiled at them as she took the ticket and looked closer at it.

"Coooool" The blonde one exclaimed before the orange one added. "Have a nice day, for sure!"

The two girl ran off, leaving Kaleigh and Riolu looking at each other for a second before the two laughed a bit.

"That one girl only knew how to say cool!" Kaleigh laughed with Riolu. Once the two had calmed down from laughing they started looking for the ship. She looked around at the big ships as she walked around the harbour.

"Which ship is it Riolu?" Kaleigh lightly scratched her head as she turned her head to look at another big white blur that she assumed was another ship. "Ri Riolu!" She felt her hand get tugged on making her look down at Riolu who was pointing to a big white ship. Starting at the cruise ship Kaleigh felt uneasy but ignored it as she followed Riolu to the ship and walked up the ramp to a man.

"Ticket please!" The man asked, which Kaleigh held out the ticket to show him. "Welcome aboard the St. Anne. This way." The man held out his hand gesturing onto the ship. Kaleigh turned to the ship and watched Riolu run on. She took a breath in before she walked onto the ship and looked around.

"Riolu, can you stay close please." Kaleigh requested as she started to lose sight of him. "Riolu?" She quietly called for but got no reply. Her breathing started to quicken slightly as she walked around the ship and into a room full of people and pokemon.

"Come one, come all!" Kaleigh heard as she walked around the room with many vendors. However, she didn't stop to look at anything as she was on a mission to track down her pokemon. Her right hand rubbed her left arm as she turned around.

"Riolu… Why did you have to run off?" Kaleigh thought until she was bumped into knocking her over to the side. When she looked up she could a glimpse of the staff uniform walking away.

"Weird."

Before Kaleigh could push herself up she felt something on her hand and looked up to see Riolu. She let out a huge sigh of relief and smiled at him.

"Riolu please stay close to me, I don't want to lose you again." Kaleigh reasoned as she got up. Riolu nodded his head and barked as he took her hand and pulled along.

"Wh-where are we going?" Kaleigh questioned as she was pulled to weave around other trainers to what she guessed was a pokemon battle. Narrowing her eyes, Kaleigh could make out the two male trainers, one being around her age and the other being an adult. The pokemon in battle were a big golden yellow rat and a big butterfly.

"Ri Riolu!" Riolu barked pumping his paws into the air as to cheer. Kaleigh watched as the two pokemon tackled each other. "Can I get as good at battling as them? Have the courage and confidence?" She thought, glancing down at Riolu who was enjoying the battle.

"Finish it, Raticate. Hyper fang attack." The adult called out the command making Raticate jump up at the butterfly pokemon who just managed to dodge it.

"Butterfree, stun spor!" The boy called out. Kaleigh watched as the Butterfree flew over top of Raticate and released powder from its wings. The Raticate cried out as it was paralyzed giving the boy an upper hand.

"Alright, now a whirlwind!" The boy called, but the adult had picked up his Raticate to end the fight.

"Well, that's enough." The adult voiced causing confusion for not only the boy but for the crowd as well. "Why don't we just call it a draw?" The man insisted before he walked away.

"Wow, sore loser I say." Kaleigh muttered under her breath before she looked at Riolu. "Do you want to fight?" She asked. Riolu punched the air and nodded his head. Looking at the boy who had to accept the draw and returned his Butterfree, she took a step forward.

"Can Riolu and I battle you?" Kaleigh asked surprising the boy. He looked down at Riolu and tilt his head as he pulled out a little red device. He held it up and a little voice came out.

"Data not available."

"What's that?" Kaleigh asked looking at the device. "It's my pokedex, it tells me about pokemon that I meet. But I don't know why it's not working…"

"How is that possible?" A girl with orange hair questioned as she walked over with a boy who had brown hair.

"I was told he's not from this region." Kaleigh explained as she tilted her head up to look at them. "How did you get him?" The boy with the brown hair inquired.

"I hatched him from an egg I found." Kaleigh answered. "That's pretty awesome that you found it, I'm Misty by the way." The girl introduced herself which caused the other two to do the same. The boy with the Butterfree was Ash and he had a partner pokemon, Pikachu, and the brown-haired boy was Brock.

"I'm Kaleigh, so you still up for that pokemon battle?"

"You bet I am!" Ash exclaimed. The two got into the small battle area and Riolu ran forward. Kaleigh was glad she didn't have to throw the pokeball in front of so many people. Ash pulled out a pokeball and threw it up into the air while calling out.

"Let's go, Pidgeotto!"

Kaleigh watched as a bird a foot bigger than Riolu came out. "Flying type… What did Monica say about Riolu's weakness to pokemon Types?" She tried to think back, but as she did so Ash called out the first command.

"Pidgeotto, use wing attack!" Kaleigh looked up as Pidgeotto's wings glowed as it swooped down hitting Riolu with its wings twice.

"Riolu use bite!"

"Pidgeotto use wing attack again!" Riolu struggled to get up as Pidgeotto set up to attack again. "Come on Riolu you can do it!" Kaleigh thought. Getting up Riolu turned just in time for Pidgeotto to hit him with its wing again, but Pidgeotto's wing felt heavier than normal. Riolu had grabbed onto Pidgeotto's wing. He then used bite on said wing making the two crash to the ground.

"Riolu!"

"Pidgeotto!"

Pidgeotto flew back into the air after a moment and left a fainted Riolu lying on the ground. The sign above Ash lit up win, signifying the battle over and she lost. Kaleigh quickly picked up Riolu who opened his eyes and whined into her arms.

"It's okay Riolu you did great." Kaleigh reassured him, pulling out a potion she was quick to heal him getting him back to his chipper self.

"That was a good battle." Ash said walking over. Riolu sat on the ground as Pikachu went up and started to talk to him, while Kaleigh stood up and nodded her head. "You have some great pokemon." Kaleigh commented, glancing down at Riolu and Pikachu. After chatting for a bit the group went their separate ways.

Riolu and Kaleigh walked around looking at all the vendors selling little trinkets one was even selling keychains of Eevee's making her think back to the little Eevee she helped. "I hope it's okay." Shaking her head Kaleigh walked away. The room was a bit crowded making it easy to bump into people or people shoving others out of their way. She tried to stay out of the way but failed as she kept bumping into people.

"Ri?" Kaleigh looked down at Riolu making her take a calming breath. "I'm okay Riolu. Let's get away from here though." They were able to make their way out of the crowd and found the buffet table. The two looked at each other and smiled as they went over and started to help themselves.
