A/N: Hey guys, sorry for the wait. I've been busy, my work load just about tripled. And some health issues came up. That doesn't really excuse me, though. Anyway, on to the story!
Disclaimer: I only own the plot and any OCs, nothing else.

"Y-you're Para rescue?!" my father finally exclaimed.
"Yes, we are. I am so sorry for not telling you about this, but we were sworn to secrecy. For both your safety and ours. Otherwise, you would have been the first to know." I responded gently.
"Why would they be so concerned about people knowing what you did?" my mother asked sharply.
"Because, you never know who knows who. If you knew, then you told friends, they told friends, and it reaches the wrong ears… you could be targeted to hurt me." I replied sadly.
"I suppose that makes sense. Is that what you've been doing for three years?" my mom questioned.
"Yes. But, as I said, since you now know you must not tell anyone outside family. Maybe a Pastor. But no one else." I replied, with a sigh.
"Why did they change your MOS? You went in as a medic." My dad questioned.
"I had above average scores in just about everything, so they decided I would do better in a more specialized job field." I explained.
"Don't worry," Zander added, "you can still call her a medic. She's probably the best medical officer we have in our area of expertise."
"I… I suppose so." my mother responded and crushed me with a hug. "Well, welcome home sweetie."
I gladly returned the hug, not knowing when the next time I could get more vacation time would be, and wanting to savor every second. After that, I was crushed into a hug by my father. Amongst great teasing from my friends, we settled into our rooms and got ready for dinner.
Dinner was… interesting to say the least. With much chatting on what we had been doing recently, in catching up on what had been going on with the family there was no lack to conversation. Both sides, my family and my team, continue to swap stories of any embarrassing or creative things that I had gotten up to. Everything from childhood mishaps to creative ways to get through a mission versus shared, although the latter could not go into over much detail due to secrecy.
Unbeknownst to me, I was being watched by unfriendly eyes.
And as my family and I continued to get used to once again being together and integrating my new team in with everyone, We did not notice the white figure that had closed in and was currently standing up on top of the neighbor's roof.
This unknown person was Stormshadow, a ninja who is working for cobra. He had been sent to do reconnaissance on myself and my team while we were off base. We had unfortunately caught the eye of the cobra commander, and he had decided that we would be the perfect subjects to test his new machine out on.
This, of course, was unknown to us and so we continued blissfully unaware with our activities. As dinner finished up, and we all got ready for bed after a long stressful and yet fun day, I thought that this trip was going great so far. Unfortunately soon this would all unravel.
Hey guys thanks for reading, I know this chapter is a little bit short but I've been having a bit of difficulty writing lately. I've been going through some serious health issues and have also been working a lot more hours and I was also in the ICU for a few days a while ago so everything has just been really difficult to allow me to good story is out in a timely manner. I am trying though, my stories might be a little bit more jumped around in between each one but I will try to get these ones that I have promised to get out as soon as I can with the current writers block I'm dealing with.
I promise I'm not abandoning all of my stories I'm just having a little bit more difficulty hopefully I'll be able to get all of these out. Again not fully an excuse just many explanations of why everything's been so late. Sorry for any punctuation or spelling errors, I don't have a beta reader.
