"Hey guys, guess what?" Nightwing walked in, carrying some mail, while the others were watching TV.
"What is it, Nightwing?" Raven asked.
"I have a fan mail that asks, "Dear Titans, you guys are awesome heroes, but you know what would make you even more amazing? It's if you save the day while having seemingly useless superpowers. Even you can prove all it takes is skill, and not just an awesome power, it would be really inspiring."
"Having useless superpowers to save the day?" The Tamaranean scratched her head thinking about it. "But what powers would be the useless?"
"Something like being intangible but no way to return to being tangible, or having the ability to control paper. Useful in a library, pretty limited everywhere else."
"Hmm, it'd be interesting to knows if we could save the day with unfamiliar, weak powers." Beast nodded, to which Jinx agreed.
"Provided it's used properly. Ok, I'll bite. Let's do it."
"Alright, I guess we're really doing this." The half-demon shrugged as she levitated, her eyes glowing white. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Everyone could feel their biology changing, as Raven's magic coursed through them.
"Did it work?" Nightwing asked, checking himself out.
"What kinds of powers did I get?" Victor went first.
"I gave you Aqualad's powers. The one from Titan's East, not The Team. You can breathe underwater and talk to fish."
"Aw man, that sounds boring."
"Try it out." Cyborg sighed as he walked up to a fish in a bowl.
"What up fish?"
"My name is Jose." It said in a Spanish accent.
"Yeah, cool. See, no personality."
"What about me?" Nightwing asked next.
"This one will sound a little obscure, but I gave you Vibe's powers. You can control vibrational energy, creating concussive blasts via breakdancing."
"Breakdancing? That's a silly way to use such a cool power." But, to test it out, Richard jumped into a handstand, before spinning to perform the windmill, generating enough energy to shoot a blast of concussive force when he stopped, shattering a window. Only to also slam himself against the opposite window due to Newton's third law. "Ow."
"Ugh, something's up with my dome, mama." Garfield groaned. "It's got all these thoughts and feelings that don't feel like my own."
"That's because you have telepathy. I couldn't decide who to draw from, so you just have basic telepathy."
"Can I at least control peoples minds?"
"No, just thinking and feelings."
"Dang it!"
"Raven, why are my limbs doing the wiggles?" The Tamaranean asked as her limbs acted like spaghetti noodles.
"That's because I gave you Plastic Man's powers. You now have full anatomical control over your body."
"Oooh, the stretchy!" She said, as she waved her longer fingers around."
"Hey, why am I so small?!" Jinx angrily asked, making everyone look down at the 1 inch tall woman.
"I gave you The Atom's powers. You can shrink and grow as you please, but never to a size bigger than your natural height."
"Oh come on! I'm already small for my actual size!" She threw a mini-temper tantrum.
"As for me, I got Superman's powers." Everyone was surprised.
"What, how come you get the good powers, mama?!" Beast questioned.
"Well, when you can cast spells, you can be Superman." Raven replied smugly. "Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to use heat vision to brew up my next cup of tea." The half-demon flew off like Superman does. Beast groaned.
"Aw man, all I can do is think about heating up a burrito!"
"Titans, think about why we swapped our powers in the first place." Nightwing interjected. "We're doing it to inspire a fan, and many others like them. They're still real powers from real heroes! I'm sure that as we use them, we'll find out their true capabilities!"
"Ah yes, in time!" Starfire realized. And so they practiced with their new powers. Robin practiced his breakdancing to not only practice his dancing skills, but also to know how to shoot concussive blast without blasting himself backwards as well. Beast used his telepathy to listen to Cyborg's conversation to several fishes, and Jose, while playing water basketball. Starfire was flying herself with her head acting as the kite, and her hair as kite based decoration. She greatly enjoyed it, until her face went right into a tree. Jingles is able to use her shrinking capabilities to find all sorts of lost things throughout the tower, thanks to our short stature and proportional strength. It took about an hour or two, but they were able to become proficient with their swapped abilities. Raven landed with enough strength to shattered the ground underneath her, the half-demon chuckling at her increased durability.
"So, how are the new powers working out?"
"They're great!" Nightwing cheered. "Not only am I a sick dancer now, but now I figured out how to use my powers without potentially hurting myself!"
"And I do not mind the silly noodles." Starfire mentioned. "I enjoy being able to turn myself into any object I can think of!"
"Yeah, and turns out that fish have all sorts of interesting lives, despite seemingly leading boring lives! My new best fish friend is Jose!" Jinx nodded to Cyborg's assessment, whom was sitting on her boyfriend's head.
"Mhm, and I found all sorts of lost things at the tower. Remote controls, my hair ties, batteries, we surprisingly lose a lot of things without realizing it."
"Well i'm glad to see that you all could adapt so well."
"Yeah, it's a nice change of pace." Beast chuckled. Suddenly, the crime alerts went off, and it showed who it was."
"It's T.O. Morrow! It looks like he's staging a robot invasion against us from a floating fortress! Titans, GO!" Nightwing ordered. The Titans burst out of the window of their living room, where Starfire has shaped shifted her lakes to become a boat, and her face becomes the sail. Cyborg meanwhile, dived into the ocean and conjured an army of the aquatic sea creatures to aid him. T.O. Morrow looked on from his floating fortress, realizing that something was different about them.
"What?! When did this happen?!"
"Just now!" Raven retorted, trying to sound as heroic as Superman. "Watch this!" She zoomed towards the robot android army, punching through them with her fist while blasting others nearby with her heat vision.
"Way to go, Raven! Starfire, slingshot!"
"I am the on it!" The alien warrior fashioned her upper body to resemble that of a slingshot, letting Nightwing to jump onto her face, and then be launched onto the floating fortress. Rolling across the metal, the Titan leader rolled forward into a slide, then broke into a breakdance, to the confusion of Morrow.
"What is this, a dance off?"
"You could say that, am my dance is going to break you!" He then performed a handstand to perform several kicks, sending several concussive waves to knock over many of the androids under the villain's control. With a stomp, he even cracked the fortress in half. He jumped onto a wave of fish so that he didn't have to crash into the water.
"Drat! I just got here, and I'm already losing so badly! I'm getting out of here!" He tried to run on his flying platform, Starfire's arm caught the villain by the neck, and being reeled back.
"We can finish him off Star." Beast said. "He ain't no real living person. Just an android, since I can't read his thoughts."
"Cool." Jinx walked up Starfire's arm, stretching her leg before going into a run, so that when she kicked his head, all of her regular strength in such a tiny area being applied to his head caused it to be knocked off, sinking to the ocean floor. Once all the Titans returned back to the tower, Raven was already writing a letter to go to that fan.
"Guess we can cross that off the hero bucket list. We can go back to how we were before now." Snapping her fingers, everyone got their normal powers back.
"Eh, might as well." Nightwing shrugged. "As cool as using concussive blasts are, they aren't exactly versatile."
"Yeah, and fish won't be able to solve any land based problems that we normally have." Cyborg agreed.
"And besides, being able to turn into any animal is much more useful than just basic telepathy."
"I will miss the fun stretching though." Starfire sighed. "But at least I had the fun to begin with."
"Yeah, and my name would be a bit off if I didn't have my luck-based powers to go with it." Jinx sighed as she kicked back onto the couch.
"Today was certainly a new experience." Raven said with a smile.
A/N: Sorry Phantom, but I'm not much into affairs. And besides, my Jinx says she can't stand him, even if other Jinxes do. Oh, and by the way, everyone, my story on AO3 is one of the longest Teen Titans stories, almost to being the 4th longest compared to completed stories. How about you give a review, follow and favorite if you believe that I can reach a total of 500,000 words before I wrap up the story at around season six of the show.
