Chapter 2

I don't own Star Wars, the characters etc, etc.

As I, together with the delegation, approached Coruscant, I gathered my thoughts for the upcoming negotiations. The difficult part was not the talks themselves, but having to control my emotions regarding this system, which institutions I so greatly despised. As the ramp of the shuttle transporting us lowered and the introductions and pleasantries started, I looked around, and was severely disappointed. The buildings lacked everything I desired, they were modern lacked any kind of artistic beauty and were in stark contrast to the traditional buildings I was used to. The ambassador turend to me and introduced me: "This you're Excellency (he was talking to Palpatine, oh sorry chancellor Palpatine) is field marshal, count von Ordo-Seydelitz, chief of the army high command." I nodded in greeting but otherwise chose to remain quiet.

Later, in the chancellor's office:

After the diplomats on both sides talked for a while, the chancellor turned to me and asked: "I see the potential for an alliance, but I would like to know, what kind of assistant you could provide our great Republic?" To his questions, I reapplied: "Our armed forces are currently organised into the 1st, 2nd 3rd and the 5th armies, as well as, the corresponding fleet and fighter units. On Mobilisation it is planed to form one additional army and fleet."
