Dreams And Wishes

Chapter 13

"I don't really think people can change, you know, at the end of the day you are who you are and it's probably who you've always been."

Once i got my clothes shipped and up on the racks. Added some light furniture. Some pictures on the walls. It felt like my store and i knew without an ounce of second guessing. Moving back to town needed to be done. And i regretted nothing about it.

I took Larry with me. As i found a line of customers awaiting us outside. Women. Girls. Guys too.

They made room when they saw i had a baby with me.

Once we got inside. I got Larry set up. Nearby. His baby bag close by.

He was wide awake. Looking around.

"You are going to be my sidekick today."

"I'll be right here if you need anything." She reassured him.

As she went over and turned the sign to open. Unlocking her store doors. The customers came in a never ending wave.

Grabbing ahold of anything they could get their hands on.

Brooke found herself split in two between caring for customers and being there whenever Larry needed her.

By lunch time. She needed a break. And let herself relax

As she fed and changed Larry. Before placing him in his playpen.

While she tried to look through take out menus.

The door opened and closed. "Lunch is here. It's hot and fresh." Lucas announced.

"This was nice of you. I couldn't figure out what to order." Brooke replied.

"I got it from the diner down the street. I think we could both use a break from the cafe." Lucas replied.

"Yeah i could use one. Karen was full of questions and i just don't have it in me. To focus on the future. There is just so much left unknown."

"Peyton wants me to be a mom to Larry and i intend to do that."

"The history we ounce shared doesn't matter."

"We've both moved on." Brooke said.

"I never apologized. How i reacted to losing the baby. Turning to Peyton. I'm sorry." Lucas said.

Brooke swallowed hard. Taking a deep breath.

"She would of been in kindergarden by now." Brooke said. Looking away from Lucas.
