As Tony Stark struggled against the ropes binding him to the chair, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease settle in his gut. He had always known that his lifestyle as Iron Man came with its fair share of dangers, but he never thought that someone close to him would turn against him in such a violent and dramatic fashion.
The person in question was a former business associate who had grown increasingly paranoid and unhinged as of late. Tony had tried to distance himself from the man, but he could never shake the feeling that he was being followed and watched. He never expected that his fears would be realized so brutally.
The ball gag in his mouth made it impossible for Tony to call out for help as his captor paced back and forth in front of him, muttering to himself in a frenzied manner. He could feel his heart racing as he tried to think of a way out of the situation.
It was then that he heard the sound of footsteps approaching, and relief flooded through him when he saw Steve Rogers bursting into the room, shield in hand. The sound of the friend's gun being fired was only a brief moment before Steve deflected the bullets off of his shield.
Without hesitation, Steve launched himself at the friend, exchanging blows with him in a fight that was both fierce and swift. Tony watched in awe as Steve deftly dodged and weaved, his muscles rippling with power as he landed a devastating blow, sending the friend flying across the room.
With the danger dealt with, Steve quickly untied Tony from the chair and pulled the gag out of his mouth, helping him to his feet as he checked him over for injuries.
"You okay, Tony?" Steve asked, his eyes concerned.
Tony nodded, feeling dizzy from the adrenaline coursing through his veins. "Thanks to you, I am. I don't know what I would have done without you."
Steve smiled at him, his expression comforting. "Just doing my job, Tony. We look out for each other, no matter what."
Feeling grateful and humbled in equal measure, Tony followed Steve out of the room, his sense of safety and security restored thanks to his loyal friend and teammate.
