Relieved to see their teammates restored, Steve and Hawkeye quickly untie them and help them to their feet. Tony shakes himself off, commenting wryly, "Well, that was refreshing." Bruce looks a little shaken, but Natasha seems unfazed as always.
Thor, meanwhile, is thoroughly unamused. "Verily, I do not find boiling to be a desirable fate," he rumbles. "I thank thee for my rescue, comrades."
Steve nods, though he can't help feeling a pang of guilt. They hadn't realized the danger until it was almost too late. "We're sorry we weren't here sooner," he says. "But we're just glad you're okay."
Hawkeye grins. "Yeah, and hey-now we get to have some fun with this guy!" He gestures to the remains of the chef monster, which are bubbling messily on the floor.
Tony cracks his knuckles. "Oh, I like the sound of that."
The group gathers around the monster, ready to get to work, when suddenly there's a flash of light and a loud booming sound. They look up to see a portal opening in the air above them. Before they can react, a figure steps through-a tall, ominous looking man with green skin and glowing eyes.
Steve's hand goes instinctively to his shield. "Who the hell-?"
The stranger speaks in a deep, rumbling voice. "I am Thanos. And I have come to claim what is rightfully mine."
