CHAPTER 15. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE.

14:00

Before getting on the monorail, both he and she were in their routine that seemed to go on forever. He had woken up late, because he didn't have to work yet, so he went to the kitchen where Alfred already had breakfast prepared for him while his parents had already gone to work.

Meanwhile he was doing this, she woke up early for her job at a pet store. Considering that she always wanted to leave her town, this would be crazy, since it didn't fit with what they thought she wanted to do. But she always liked animals, and it seemed like they loved her, they were always so calm and loving whenever she was around. She wouldn't be in it forever, as she had plans to start her own business in the near future, but that's what she was working for in that place, to save money and start establishing her future. She had worked in two places similar to that store since she finished high school in Gotham after the fateful incident of the Petropoulos comet and the destruction of the town she had hated so much.

The destruction of the town seemed to be a blessing for her, because now, she lived in a big city where all possible things happened, and she was no longer quiet, boring and routine as she was in the town. She was no longer harassed over and over again by her schoolmates for being the daughter of the former Mayor Princeton, who was now beginning his career as a politician outside of that town, although she was still harassed from time to time for her physique.

One thing that didn't change after the incident were her friends. She was able to be with Barry and Iris in high school as well, not without always thanking them for helping her in the evacuation; but it was sad when they went to different universities, but she was happy when they came to visit her to inform her that they were about to get married, although they still had to know how the wedding was going to be, but, without a doubt, she would go see them that day. She always knew that the two of them would end up together.

Another good thing was to continue with Aunt Antiope and her sister Donna, who, at this time, was already eleven years old, so she was no longer as little as she was before the incident. However, just like with Iris and Barry, she had to say goodbye to them to move elsewhere, once she got her job at the pet store. Of course, she never stopped seeing them, she visited them at least every two weeks, because she, despite everything, loved them very much, they were her family.

However, she still had, occasionally, those weird dreams where she couldn't remember anything she dreamed about, but she would wake up crying and feeling like she had lost something, but she didn't know what. This day, was one of the times when she had this dream again. After seeing that, again, she did not remember what she had dreamed, she only checked her palms to see if there was anything out of the ordinary out of sheer instinct, but there was nothing, so she got up and began her routine, not before putting her red ribbon in her hair, but this time not to hold a braid, but to tie it in a part of her hair, forming a small ponytail that was not very noticeable, since her hair now always had it straight, like a black mane.

Once the end of her shift came, she went to the monorail, she wanted to go to another part of the city, since although she loved the job she had in that place, she also wanted to relax after that. She was hoping to go to a coffee shop, or to the cinema, to see if there was a good movie.

When he finished his breakfast, he went to his bedroom to get dressed. Once he had put on his suit (because he always wore a suit to town), he looked at his palms again, hoping there was something that would tell him something about what he was looking for, but he didn't get any answer either. Once again, he'd had that dream he couldn't remember that woke him up suddenly, and made him feel sad again.

Seeing that he did not get an answer, he left again, asking for a taxi, and going to the city. He would have gone to the Amusement Mile , but it was a long way away, and it cost less to go by monorail than by taxi. His thrifty habit had not disappeared. So he took the monorail, hoping to get there, and find that business that he thought was what he was looking for.

As she was going at the gate of the monorail, she was looking all over the city, still deciding what to do once she would arrive there, but that view was blocked by the other monorail she was crossing at the time. And, in that other monorail, she could see that, at the door, there he was. There was the boy she thought she had seen before, but who knows where, despite not remembering anything she had done with him.

He was on that other monorail, facing the front of the monorail, but not at her. It wasn't until he felt someone was looking at him that he turned and opened his eyes wide, and saw that there she was. The girl he was sure he had met before, but couldn't remember where. She was there, with her black hair, her blue eyes, and her thin red lips.

The two looked at each other for a few seconds, with their eyes wide open, and their mouths slightly open. However, the view was cut short when the two monorails separated and went in separate tunnels and directions. But now, after seeing each other for those measly seconds, they had come to the conclusion that had always eluded them. They had always been looking, they had been looking for someone, and they were not going to let it get away.

When they reached the next stop, the two of them ran off at full speed, looking in all possible directions to find that person they had been looking for all this time. They did not see each other anywhere in the station, so they left their respective stations and visited various points in the area to meet. They went around several streets, stopped momentarily, returned a street from time to time, crossed bridges, crossed streets when the traffic light gave them permission to cross, they went to where they thought they were going to find that person they wanted so much to find.

And it seemed like it was meant to be. After crossing a few more streets, he turned to the left and saw that there was the girl he had wanted so much to find, dressed in blue jean pants, black boots, a simple red blouse, black jacket, and with her black hair. She was at the top of a long flight of stairs with red railings.

She was looking at him very carefully, too, but she didn't know what to say. After so long, she finally had him in front of her, separated by a rather long distance, but she didn't know how to act.

He moved closer to her a little, but then he stopped looking at her and resigned himself. So, he continued walking up the stairs with a hard expression. She didn't know what to do, but thinking that it was better to leave it this way, she also resigned herself and put on a serious look as she began to walk down the stairs. The two of them were so close to each other, but that was it, in the end, they had both decided, they were never going to meet.

Once they started to walk away, the serious expression on her disappeared and was replaced by sadness, again she felt that horrible sense of loss in her. Meanwhile, he felt that searching, sad feeling in him, so despite his serious face as he turned away from her, he lowered his head and shrugged.

However, a few seconds later, he got fed up with this feeling of emptiness, took courage, turned to that girl and spoke to her: "Excuse me, have we…? Have I…seen you before?" He said stuttering a bit. Again, she seemed to be the only one who could make him nervous.

When she heard this, she stopped and turned around. She began to cry again, not with sadness, but with joy. She also took courage and replied: "I thought the same" with a big smile.

He too was crying with joy. After all this time, they could finally ask themselves that question.

Bruce and Diana asked at the same time "May I know your name?"

And since that moment, the feeling of sadness, search, loss and emptiness had disappeared for both of them. From now on, they only felt great happiness, one that they had never experienced before, but was only possible when they were together.

THE END.

Okay, this is it. I even thought about doing one more chapter to make it clear if they ended up together or not, but I think that the same fic and the movie make it clear, even if there isn't an explicit scene. Also, I always say that they ended up together, because it's WonderBat, the DC definitive couple. That and we don't always require kisses or very explicit love scenes to show that they love each other.

Don't forget we have to make some noise now that James Gunn is in control. I tell you, I don't trust Gunn, but he has my attention, and if he can make Batman and Wonder Woman canon, then it's worth a shot.

Special thanks to Dani Musings. You were my guide during the making of this fic when it came to changing certain details and circumstances so that they would work as well as possible in the story, so that this was not a simple copy and paste of one of my movies for my favorite couple. I appreciate you so much.

Also, thanks again to DCosloff for all the support during this long absence. I appreciate you so much after all this time, and I hope to continue counting on you.

One last thanks to RedToad09. I'm glad you liked my jobs, and thanks for all the comments and support for this fanfic. I appreciate your opinion a lot, like the DCosloff and Dani's opinions.

Now, before I finish, I know this is the only fic I've written in a long time, but I think now I'll write as many chapters as possible for each fic, and when I think there are a good number, I'll release them one after the other. It depends on how things are happening, because the changes might happen at any moment.

Well, with this I say goodbye for now. Thank you very much for reading it, and for following the story. Don't forget to write the reviews so I can see them.

See you next time.
