It only took moments for the Tatoonin Shopping District to descend into chaos. The Sludge Villain had escaped and had now taken a hostage, said hostage being Katsuki Bakugo, which was naturally a recipe for disaster.
Fortunately, lots of pros were quick to the scene and one may think they have the situation under control.
Unfortunately, you would be wrong.
With Bakugo being the choice of hostage, the entire shopping district was set alight and a good chunk of it was destroyed. The guy who proclaimed he'd be the next best thing was now letting his quirk off without a care in the world.
The pros had only made a few attempts to fight the villain and save Bakugo, poor ones at that.
Backdraft had by far done more than the other Pros on the scene. Due to the emergency services being held up, he was attempting to quell the blazes, but because of a certain pomeranian, was having little success. He was unsure if the age-old technique of 'just add water' would dilute the villain so they couldn't keep their body together or make the villain grow. He had offered to soak Kamui so he wouldn't go up in flames but said hero declined immediately.
With Izuku and (New)Friends
It didn't take long to arrive at the scene, upon seeing the villain Toshinori got various looks that all said "you idiot", causing the man to deflate even more.
Izuku on the other hand was beginning to panic. 'If All Might captured him, how'd he escape? Wait but I'm the reason he couldn't leave and wasted his time, this is my fault.' He mentally blamed himself.
Gran Torino seeing his expression whacked the boy with his cane in the shins causing him to lift his leg and hold it and look at the old man questioningly. "This isn't your fault, kid, it's that bozos. He's at fault, not you, because last time I checked you're a middle schooler, not a Pro-Hero." Torino answered.
Izuku just nodded and turned back to the scene, the elderly man's words didn't alleviate the guilt entirely but at least he wasn't blaming himself.
BOOM!
'. . . Hold up. I know those explosions.' And sure enough, Izuku did know them, he'd recognise that Boom-Boom Pomeranian anywhere. He was shocked to see his antagonizer in such a position, not that he had a lot of empathy for him anymore. "Ka- Bakugo?!"
"You know him?" Tsukauchi asked.
"E-erm, w-well. It's u-uh, you see..." the boy stuttered, taking a deep breath the boy replied that it was complicated, to which the detective only nodded.
Whilst all of this was occurring Small Might could only curse himself for wasting all of his time.
The crowd continued to watch wondering, why their heroes were just standing there. Was this guy going to turn out to be a legit supervillain? Where was All Might, as he was in pursuit earlier?
Izuku just continued to watch until his eyes met the terrified eyes of Bakugo...
... and he couldn't stay still.
"Oh, well this got interesting." All For One commented and when he got questioning looks, he simply pointed to the scene in front of them. The young man standing next to them moments ago was running straight towards the villain as the Heroes, continuing to stand there, yelled out for him to stop. Gran Torino had hopped onto a nearby vending machine ready to rush in, although for some reason felt as though it wouldn't be necessary.
Izuku didn't have a clue why he was running nor was able to stop, all he knew was he saw Bakugos fear and next thing, he was on the move. Even the calls to stop and the warnings from the Pro-Heroes behind him weren't enough now.
It was clear to the boy he wouldn't be stopping, he was deadset on his goal. Taking inspiration from a relative that Inko had told him about, he began smiling.
"...no matter how scary things get, give 'em a smile, as if to say, "I'm a-ok". The people in this world who can smile are always the strongest."
Elsewhere
Inko had always tried to be a good mother. Sure she messed up from time to time, but it was only natural, she was a single parent who tried to do it all. When Izuku was diagnosed as Quirkless was one such example; instead of giving him any form of encouragement, she apologised and only made things worse.
But Izuku didn't stop trying to be a hero, his determination, and his drive had always been too great. So she rectified her biggest mistake and began to support him in every way possible. Helping with a diet so he could get the proper nutrients in order for him to grow. Doing research into what kind of workouts would benefit him the most for his body type, which then turned to potential fighting styles as well. Buying notebooks for the analysis he was so gifted at, and encrypting in the event he loses one so no one can simply read it. Working out with him to lose weight, giving him a training partner and so to act as encouragement so they both showed up every day. She even went as far as to travel to surrounding prefectures to get him workout equipment as gyms wouldn't allow him entry and stores that were also aware of her son's Quirklessness.
In doing these things and seeing how far her baby had grown, she still worried about him, but not nearly as much as she used to. Most of her worry came from the fact he'd help others before thinking, which has led to a few injuries over the years.
So imagine how horrified she would be to see her son running directly towards a villain that captured Katsuki and caused so much destruction.
Sitting next to Inko was her best friend, Mitsuki Bakugo. She was a young-looking woman with spikey ash-blonde hair and red eyes, the same traits inherited by her son. She wore a white blouse under a lavender cardigan with a short black skirt.
Mitsuki was also on edge which was a rare sight. Seeing her son attacked by a villain and then her nephew running straight into the fray was definitely something she was not prepared for today. She couldn't help but hold on to her daughter for what seemed like dear life.
Her daughter's name was Megumi Bakugou. She had spikey brown hair, similar to the other members of her family, red eyes and she wore a denim pinafore with a yellow t-shirt.
The little girl had all her attention on the screen, not caring about how tight she was being held. In complete honesty, she was only really worried about Uncle Zuzu, Katsuki had been an asshole for as long as she could remember, which was not long considering she was only 4 years old.
"Mommy, will Uncle Zuzu be okay?" Megumi asked her other.
"I'm sure he'll be fine sweetie."
The three had their eyes glued to the screen. Izuku continued to run as the Sludge Villain swung two tendrils at the green-haired boy, making Inko tense up but she couldn't find herself looking away. When the tendril first got close Izuku effortlessly ducked under it and proceed to side-flip over the second, launching something at the villain. The object hit the villain square in the eye making it flinch and release its hold on Bakugo letting him breathe.
"YES! GO ZUZU!" Megumi screamed as her arms shot up smacking her mother in the face by accident.
"Holy shit! How the hell'd he pull that off?" Mitsuki questioned, receiving a jab from her daughter who told her to not swear.
"Well, he was probably able to grab a small piece of rubble when he ducked the first tendril. Then when he flipped over the second one he used it as an opportunity to get more wind up for the throw." Inko guessed, she turned to see both Bakugos looking at her with nonplussed expressions. She nervously laughed, "I may have been reading Izuku's notebooks too much."
At The Shopping District
To say everyone was stunned would be an understatement. Their jaws had just hit the damn floor at what the middle schooler just did. All For One was impressed, not something one could simply do for the former King of the Underworld.
Izuku didn't hesitate and pushed forward, there awaited a not so happy looking pomeranian who demanded answers. "What the hell are you doing here Deku?!"
"Not standing around and watching you die!" Izuku yelled, grabbing the other boy's collar and with an almighty pull he yanked Bakugo out from his sludgy prison.
"Don't look down on me Deku! I'll kill you!"
Izuku didn't reply, only pushing Bakugo who promptly fell on his ass while the green-haired boy to a step back. Before the boom boom pup could start his barking back up another tendril slammed into the ground where they just stood. Unfortunately, Izuku didn't notice the tendril coming from behind till it almost hit. Key word, almost.
"I really am pathetic aren't I." All Might commented, "I just stood there and watched as you stepped in and showed the traits of a great champion. Not an ounce of hesitation to save someone even as you risked your life! That's the true test of being a hero!"
The villain cursed All Might and swung for him. All Might grabbed both Izuku and Bakugo, All Might yelled out. "DETROIT SMASH!"
With a powerful punch, the villain was unable to hold himself from the wind pressure that caused a tornado to form, moving the clouds in the process.
All the heroes could do was brace themselves and Mount Lady protected citizens from being blown away. When the tornado subsided the sky got darker as rain began to fall, subsequently putting out the fires.
Everyone stood shocked had just occurred but began to cheer for the Symbol of Peace's victory as he raised his fist. He looked back to see Izuku who had seemed to avoid passing out narrowly and Bakugo who did pass out.
After the heroes collected the sludge Katsuki was praised for his bravery and powerful quirk with Pros trying to convince him to join their agencies when he becomes a Hero. But Bakugo was too busy glaring Izuku down as if he wanted to tear the boy apart like a chew toy.
Speaking of Izuku, he was getting chewed out by the heroes for being reckless and telling him there was no need for him to step in as they had the situation under control. But the scolding was interrupted when All Might made their way towards them.
"My apologies but you were doing crowd control, correct?" All Might asked the two pros who confirmed that they were. "I see, then I believe it was your fault for him getting past in the first place. I'm not saying you're incompetent, but even after he got past it seemed as if none of you had attempted to go after him. At least not from my perspective when I arrived."
The two Heroes flinched, there was getting chewed out and then there was getting chewed out by All Might.
All Might turned to Izuku and continued. "Now I would suggest you try not running into dangerous situations, it may lead to getting yourself injured or worse." Izuku's head dropped, being scolded by his idol.
"That being said you showed no hesitation to help someone in need which is a trait great heroes show. And from the way you evaded the villain and utilized your surroundings shows that you can take care of yourself and fend off a villain. If you keep training I have no doubts you become an amazing hero young man, so keep at it!" All Might stated giving the young man a thumbs up.
Izuku for his part looked to the No.1 in disbelief, All Might had just told him he could be a hero. It took the boy a lot to hold back the tears. "Y-yes sir."
"Then I can't wait to see what you do." All Might nodded and then turned to Bakugo. "Now as for you young man, I know being held hostage can be scary but try not to let that fear get the better of you. You have a very powerful Quirk but it's important to have control, it cost quite a bit of property damage and made it harder to save you. So I only suggest you keep those things in mind."
Bakugo did not look happy in the slightest and only responded with a 'tch'.
With that, the two boys were allowed to leave and All Might was swarmed by reporters in an instant. Bakugo disappeared instantly and Izuku left with Gran Torino and All For One so they could meet back up with the No.1 Hero elsewhere. Nezu had to get back to UA so Tsukauchi took him back to the school.
After some walking and when they were out of sight Izuku was on the receiving end of a kick from Gran Torino. The retired Hero told him that it was stupid to run in like that to which Izuku countered that A. his legs just move without his input and B. asked why Gran Torino just let it happen. Before the old man could give the kid a beat down All For One stepped in to stop any escalations.
"Anyway, you were impressive back there my boy, I wasn't expecting that to work out for you. But, in that light, I have an offer for you." All For One started.
"Oh no you don't! Kid don't take anything this monster can offer!" Torino interrupted.
"Oh please, it's actually not what you may be thinking. I was actually-"
"DEKU!"
Before that man could go further they were interrupted by Bakugo, who started barking at Izuku. "Listen here! I never needed a Quirkless weakling like you to help me! Don't think you can look down on me just because you got some compliment from All Might! I had that villain right where I wanted him and woulda killed him if you didn't get in my way! I owe you nothing! YA HEAR ME! YOU DID NOTHING! IF YOU GET IN MY WAY AGAIN I'LL KILL YOU, SO DON'T YOU FORGET THAT!"
And with that, the pomeranian ran off, seemingly not even noticing the two others present.
After a moment of silence, once Bakugo was gone, All For One was the first one to make a comment. "He seems pleasant."
"He does know he just insinuated murder, right?" Gran Torino said.
"Yeeeaaaahhhh. It's kind of his thing." Izuku just told them.
"I AM HERE!" All Might slid in out of nowhere making Izuku freak out at the sudden arrival.
"W-wait weren't you being swarmed by reporters?" Izuku asked.
Almighty began to flex as he explained "AHAHA! I stand for justice, not sound bytes! Because I am All- Blerg." he coughed up blood and deflated once again. Izuku just stood with his eyes wide, while his former teacher and nemesis did not look impressed in the slightest.
"Yagi we were in the middle of something." All For One pointed out. Small Might rubbed the back of his head and apologised. The man cleared his throat, "As I was saying. I have an offer for you my boy, I would like to give you my Quirk, [All For One]."
The threes jaw hit the floor, there was Izuku for the natural reason that he was just offered a Quirk and then there was Yagi and Torino's reaction for a different reason entirely. All For One, the worst villain around just offer him his quirk, there's no way he's doing this without a catch.
"H-h-hold on a second! What the hell is this about? There's no way I'll let that happen." Yagi sputtered out.
"And why would that be?"
"Because I am here, to offer him [One For All]."
'One... For... All?' Izuku mentally repeated.
"No." All For One simply stated.
"No?!"
"No. The boy will inherit [All For One]."
"Like hell he will! This young man has the heart of a true hero! So he'll inherit [One For All]."
The two continued to argue that slowly turned into them more or less bickering like an old married couple. Clearly nearly neither side wanted to back down.
Izuku lead down to Torino and whispered, "Excuse me, sir. What's going on?"
The old man just turned to Izuku with a look that said he may be finally losing it. "Not a clue kid."
The two men continued to argue and throw some rather... creative insults, for a few minutes. Both spectators just continued to watch, not wanting to interrupt, and also not sure exactly what to do either.
"Okay then, All Might! Here's an idea for you then."
"Yeah?! Well, let's hear it then!" Small Might demanded.
"Why don't we just give the boy both [All For One] and [One For All].
