Dancing demons were muttering euphoric chants, conjuring curses. Such actions were being done in a circle around the place they had stayed over the night with their friends, and that now was empty.

Where were Shippo, Sango and Miroku?

The question wandered through his mind, as the twisted creatures that appeared like a discordant composition of claws, horns and fangs, relished a sort of ritual whose purpose was meant, seemingly, to pay homage to evil.

"I need to get out of here." Kagome's plea came with the touch of her hand, as she took his. She was the vivid picture of terror.

"Let's go," InuYasha accepted, holding her tightly.

As soon as they turned around, the other was there, the one that was identical to him, a dark energy flashing across its eyes. InuYasha did not stop to think, his sword already drawn in an attack that dissolved that creature from the forest. In that moment, an energy crossed his body, filling him with a sensation of having recovered a part of himself.
