A surprise letter
Hermione dragged harry out onto the parapets of the tower grinning excitedly. He was smiling because to see her happy after they had been fighting so much over the half-blood prince's stupid book was a wonderful thing.
"So what has you so excited?" Harry asked with a chuckle.
"You do mister." She said giving him a tight hug and a deep kiss on the lips.
"Wha—at?" He managed to stammer once they had broken apart. He did wait for her to get done kissing him as it would have been rude to push her away.
"Oh I suppose I should officially say that yes I accept. I can't wait to tell mum. Can I borrow Hedwig to write her a letter?" Hermione asked bouncing around happily.
"Uh yeah sure. But tell her what? What do you accept?" he begged for answers in deep confusion.
She stopped to look at him curiously with a slight frown, "Are you telling me that you have forgotten what you wrote to me in this letter?" She said pulling a carefully folded piece of parchment out of her pocket.
"Uh. Yeah. I'm sorry. Its been a very stressful week." he confessed as it seemed far simpler and safer given the way she was acting.
Pushing his glasses back up his nose Hermione smiled sympathetically, "True. And I haven't been making it any better for you when I should be. But don't worry. We'll work on this and our relationship will be as strong as you hoped for." She said. "Here read your letter while I go write mum."
She gave him another soft kiss on the lips before going back inside.
Harry unfolded the paper and read in his own messy scrawl a love poem describing how much he cared for Hermione, how much he needed her and how much he hoped she felt the same for him. It also asked her to be his girlfriend.
He stared uncomprehending at the paper in his hand as he had utterly no memory of writing this. He did feel like that and it was his handwriting but he had been too scared to tell Hermione any of it. Too scared she would reject him. Maybe he had written it and forgotten. He had been under a lot of stress that was no lie. However it had happened Hermione had not rejected him and wanted to be his girlfriend. From the way she was acting it appeared it made her very happy to do so.
Harry carefully folded the paper over and smiling went in to sit with his girlfriend. Maybe things were looking up after all.
Review Responses
Guest: Well that was certainly a rather well thought out and meaningful review. I sincerely doubt it has had the Salutary effectiveness that your fustilarian diatribe intended. The purpose of the written word is to broaden our horizons my dear rambunctious reviewer. So fare thee well and may your days be free of pestilent carbuncles...
KellerDeath: That does sound like an interesting project. The way they have been designed is as a long single story.
Dennisud: indeed with the creature. As for this tale it is all the tail that can be told.
OfficerDonNZ: Thank you. Glad you enjoyed.
KGFinkel: Indeed. I toned it down from the original idea but that is more of an AO3 level one.
