So guys, just a story taken from from the writers ideas for season 7... this is how i imagine in my head that it played out. Also i chose Sam's daughters name from a few that were mentioned in the show since we never found out what they actually named her.
Andy looked at the calendar, 90 days since Sam went under, she missed him, boo missed him, his daughter missed him. Andy knew it was important for Sam to do this, even though it was not his fault he had felt partly responsible, but that was Sam, A rookie had been murdered and another officer kidnapped, from their division, Sam wanted answers, they all wanted answers. She just had no idea how long it would take to get them. Andy's mind wanders back to the day he told her he was going under.
She had just finished plating up dinner when she heard the key in the door, her day off meant that she had cooked for Sam for when he got home. She had not heard from him much throughout the day which usually meant he had been busy, she figured he would not have eaten properly either. She took the wine out of the fridge and set it on the breakfast bar. Sam came straight over and gave her a kiss straight on her lips, she would never tire of his touch. He unloaded his Keys and wallet on the counter before snaking his arms around her waist and kissing her neck.
"Hey, this smells so good" he whispered in her ear, she turned around in his arms and pressed her lips softly against his.
"Thanks, how was work? I didn't hear from you all day, so I guess you were busy".
He sat down at the counter, and she sat next to him, he poured the wine for them both.
"Yeah, sorry about that, I was talking with Oliver and Tracy all day, trying to figure out how to move on with the Nadia Murder case."
"And did you…. figure it out?"
"Yep, but you're not going to like it" he added rubbing her thigh. He picked up his glass and had a swig of wine and then turned to face her.
"Sam will you just spit it out."
"Okay…well I'm kind of…. going to have to go undercover."
Andy immediately pushed the stool back and stood up, she started pacing between the kitchen and the lounge, she could feel the tears prickling at the back of her eyes.
"Sam…"no other words would come out.
"Andy, you know we need to close this case, we have exhausted all other options and we have come up empty, a rookie was killed and Chloe were kidnapped, I don't trust anyone else to do this right, if there was any other way to nail these sons of bitches you know I would have jumped on it"
"I know Sam, I want to get them too but…. there must be another way. Can't you send Nick, he's good undercover"?
"No, something happened to him Vancouver and besides, it has to be me, I was the one who sent Nadia and Chloe to search that warehouse."
She walked back to Sam and grabbed both sides of his face.
"Sam no one blames you, they were doing their jobs, it could have been anyone of us, these guys obviously didn't care they were police, it was wrong time, wrong place. Thankfully we got price back in one piece, yes, we lost a rookie, we all feel that, but you can't keep blaming yourself. I'm just worried, you haven't been undercover for 4 years, I just…..."
"I know, I never Planned to do another UC op again, but we all need answers, Nadia's family deserve answers, I can't imagine anything happening to you and not getting the closure." She sat back down, and Sam leaned in for a kiss, it was slow and breathtaking.
"How long before you go?"
"2 weeks, I have a guy who can get me in".
"I don't like this, but I understand why, we have only been married 6 months, I didn't have this in the plans."
"I know and I promise when I make it back, we will make the time up, I plan on being in bed with you…." He kissed her again "for 3 days straight".
Andy chuckled despite knowing there was no guarantee he would come back in one piece, let alone alive.
"I'm Holding you to that."
She picked up her keys and headed towards Sam's truck, she says Sam's, but she drives it more these days. She pulled up outside the coffee shop near division and walked in to find Tracy already there waiting for her. Tracy waved to her, and Andy made her way over.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Tracy asked as she stood up to hug her.
"Well, you know, it's been 3 months and still no word, this is hard trace, now I know how Sam felt when I was UC for 6 months, it sucks. The first year married and we have spent a quarter of it apart, maybe more."
"I Know, but we both know Sam is the best person to do this."
"I know, doesn't make it any easier though, I see Maya Making all these milestones and it is killing me that Sam is missing them all, can't believe I'm saying this, but Marlo has been great about letting me see her whilst Sam is away, but we are supposed to be doing this together".
"I know, but you know Sam loves and appreciates you more than anyone else in this world, you are his world, he will try and tie this down as soon as he can, if it helps I heard from his handler earlier, Sam has made some progress, that's as much as he would give me"
"Thanks Trace, I appreciate it, it's so lonely at home, only so many times you can go to the penny in a week without looking like a total alcoholic."
"Hey why don't you come hang out with me and Leo tonight? We are having a movie night."
"I don't want to impose on your night with Leo".
"You're not, I'm pretty sure he would rather hang out with you anyway, your fun aunt Andy, we haven't all hung out in ages, he is 12 now, too grown up to do the things we used to do"
"Yeah, that sounds great Trace, what time you want me there?"
"Around 6, I'm picking Leo up from school and then heading to the store before hockey practice."
"Cool I'll see you then" Andy finished her coffee and headed to the truck. She needed to pop into the division as she had left her gym clothes there and she wanted to hit the gym before heading to Tracy's.
Andy Knocked on Tracy's door, trying to balance the pizza in one hand and hold the bag of groceries in the other. The door opened and she was greeted by Leo.
"Hey Leo, jeez did you grow like a foot taller, since I last saw you?"
Leo chuckled "You saw me last week".
"I know but it seems like your taller every time I see you".
Leo laughed as he leaned forward to help Andy by taking the pizza.
"Sweet…. Mum, Andy brought pizza…. Thanks Andy."
Tracy Joined Andy in the kitchen "Leo, make sure you save us some pizza."
"I will" he shouted back.
"Trace, there's like 10 slices, there will be enough."
"You don't know what it's like feeding a 12 year old".
Andy laughed "Can't be worse than feeding Oliver." Both ladies laughed.
"You really didn't have to bring anything Andy, I invited you" Andy waved her off and continued sorting and unpacking snacks.
5 hours later, she threw her keys on the counter and took her phone out of her pocket, she realized for the first time in 3 months she hadn't constantly been checking it… except this time she had a message from an unknown number.
*I LOVE YOU*
For the first time in 3 months, she felt a weight lift off of her shoulders…. but it still wasn't over yet.
