Chapter 6
"But not as much as me…" smiled David, looking up at her lovingly, "So when will our next date be?"
"Well…"
"Tomorrow?" he asked swiftly, not giving her a chance to answer.
"No," she chuckled wholeheartedly, "Certainly not tomorrow because you need more time to recover. It's a cold, which usually lasts approximately three days. So let's plan for Friday instead."
"… Friday?" he wondered for a moment,
"It's quite close."
"Yeah… yeah, I think you're right." he nodded happily, "That sounds great."
"But only in the evening, and you shouldn't work until then, not even on Friday."
"Well, maybe that's a bit…" he tried to protest, but she cut in,
"You have to stay in bed strictly, otherwise, you can fall back, then we have to postpone it until next week."
"I'll stay in bed, I promise." he quickly answered with a smile, then suddenly drew her into his lap, which made her chuckle, "But I would love a little teaser…"
"A teaser, hm? How you mean that?" she flirted, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"You know exactly how I mean it…" he answered with his boyish smile and kissed her lovingly, quickly losing themselves in their own little world for a few precious moments… until she playfully interrupted the kiss, wearing a cheeky smile on her face,
"Ahem…"
"… What?" he asked innocently,
"Nice try, but you won't convince me," she answered, and looked down with a certain expression on her face,
"That's just a natural reaction…"
"A reaction to what exactly?" she flirted, while he just kissed her neck lovingly,
"To you, of course."
"Uh-huh," she chuckled, "It seems you need to calm down and my presence is not helping you at all."
"That's true, but you know there's an easy solution for that…"
"Yeah, I can imagine…" she let out a giggle, while he just grinned,
"They say the best way to resist temptation is to give in to it,"
"Do you really think that if you can't even change the bedding because it's too demanding, sex is allowed?"
"I'll take the risk," he smiled, and started placing small butterfly kisses on her neck… one after the other, tasting her with pleasure… in response, an instinctive moan escaped her lips, while she clung to his back, seeking support to maintain her balance.
"Mmm…"
"Then I'll take that as a 'yes'…" he grabbed her waist and was ready to pick her up, when she stopped him,
"David…" her voice was a bit weak from his ministrations, so she cleared her throat, "David, it's not easy for me either, but I won't take the risk, okay?" she placed her palms around his face to get his attention,
"…"
"I'm so relieved that your fever is gone, and I don't want to risk it coming back, because it's a tricky thing. If we can't bring it down… hey, I'm just worried about you." she stroked his face, "Do you understand that?"
"Yes… yes, of course I do," he nodded with a sigh, and couldn't decide he felt miserable because she was so close to him and he couldn't be with her the way he yearned for… or he felt so happy that she cared and worried about him so much.
"Right," she gave a quick kiss on his lips then stood up, "And now, breakfast is waiting for you. After that, you go back to bed." she declared, then seeing his cheeky gaze she added, "Without me, okay?"
"… Yes, ma'am." he smiled lovingly and watched as she disappeared into the guest room…
OOOOOOOOOO
During the day, David tried to sleep as much as he could, while Julia worked from home and frequently checked on him, making a few cups of tea and preparing food for him… they settled into a pretty nice rhythm and it was already in the evening when he felt he couldn't sleep anymore and came out to join her in the living room…
"Is everything okay?" she asked lovingly, looking up from the papers in front of her.
"I think I've slept more than enough for a whole week."
"That's great. Your body needs time to heal, and the best way to do that is by sleeping… hey, what is it?" she asked softly,
"Do you…" he didn't know how to ask it,
"Just tell me…"
"… Do you still not mind that I'm here with you?"
"Why would I mind it?" she asked and slowly stood up,
"I was just thinking… you know, maybe it's time to go home now, so…"
"Don't you feel comfortable here?" she asked softly,
"Actually, a bit too comfortable and that may be the problem."
"… Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean," she remarked a bit puzzled.
"So you don't feel that I take advantage on your hospitality, right? Just because I'm so happy to be here, that maybe I just don't realize it."
"No, absolutely not… and I truly love that you're here," she answered fondly, taking his hand in hers, "But why do you think that?"
"I don't know…" he shook his head softly, "I'm just a bit afraid, I think."
"… Afraid of what exactly?"
"That sooner or later you'll get tired of me and realize that you don't want another relationship, because your independence worth more."
"Do I seem like someone who's getting tired of you?" she asked with a smile,
"No, of course not, but this whole thing is too important for me. I really don't want to ruin it."
"Believe me, you could never ruin it by being with me… actually, the more time you spend here, the more I need." she added lovingly, and he just leant over to kiss her, breathing in her sweet scent for a moment,
"…"
"So if you feel comfortable healing at home, just go. But if you want to stay, you have to know that you're always welcome here… it's totally up to you,"
"… But I don't want to go anywhere," he said, drawing her closer.
"Then it's simple, just stay." she whispered, snuggling into his neck,
"… Promise me that you'll never feel like you've had enough of me," he whispered, holding her tight.
"I can solemnly promise that," she said, lifting her head and looking deep into his eyes, "… You are everything I need." she whispered with a smile, allowing him to capture her lips and pull her as close as physically possible… kissing with her, quickly led them back where they last left off, and soon things are started heating up between them…
"… What's the matter?" he asked breathlessly as she suddenly broke the kiss, touching his forehead,
"It's getting too warm again… See? I told you." she remarked worriedly, while he checked it,
"Just a little bit, no big deal." he tried to reassure her.
"Uh-huh, after a simple kiss…"
"Actually, that wasn't that simple, but take it as a compliment. That's the effect you have on me," he smiled and he attempted to kiss her again, but she pulled away,
"This won't be good if we continue like this," she sighed, "I have to be more strict, so no kissing from now on…"
"What? No way! You know it's torture…" he protested with puppy eyes,
"Good effort, but that doesn't work on me," she pointed towards the bedroom. "So go back to bed now…" she tried to be strict, however, she couldn't help but give him a quick kiss on the top of his head…
OOOOOOOOOO
Finally it was Friday, which they had both been eagerly waiting for… David had fully recovered, but taking her advice, he didn't go to work, instead he prepared everything in her living room for a perfect movie night…
He created space between her sofa and the wall-mounted TV, and covered the floor with several fluffy white duvets stacked on top of each other, adding lots of pillows… then he made a little tent with a big white bed sheet and hung a few garlands of fairy lights on it… and as a finish, he also filled up a small trolley with sweets, doughnuts, soft drinks and snacks… it all looked magical…
When she finished at work, he was already waiting for her to take her home. He had kept his promise of not working that day, but nothing could stop him from escorting her home, and spending some extra time together, which they both enjoyed so much… on their way home, they weren't alone in the car, but they still shared a few smiles through the rearview mirror, then finally arriving home, it was just the two of them, which was more than exciting… heading upstairs, they could hardly keep their hands off each other, so as they tried to get into the apartment, they nearly fell in through the door, immediately engaging in passionate kissing, but their attention was suddenly diverted, when leading on the way to the bedroom, she noticed the fairy lights behind them…
"Oh my gosh, it's…"
"So, does that mean you like it?" he asked with a smile, embracing her from behind,
"But of course I like it! It's enchanting…" she answered, and he loved the genuine amazement on her face.
"I promised a classic movie night, so…"
"I'm in love with it, really," she said, still gazing the beautiful setup, while he wrapped his hands tighter around her, "I've always wanted to watch a movie like this… and that's a sweet trolley?"
"Uh-huh, but there's a lot more, I'll make fresh popcorn and we can order pizza."
"Such perfection… and what's the movie for tonight?" she asked sweetly, excited like a kid in a candy shop.
"I ended up choosing The Bodyguard… I don't know how I came up with that," they shared a chuckle, "But we can watch something else if you want."
"No, that's one of my all-time favorite movies, as you can see…" she pointed to themselves with a cheeky smile, "So it seems you really are my kind of man," she whispered the last part, as he started kissing and caressing her neck, "It's a tough decision…" she teased him, giggling. "But let's settle that we'll have this movie night after we…" but she couldn't finish her sentence, because he captured her lips and kissed her passionately. They didn't get far into her flat before she drew him into the cozy fort he had created, falling right into the fluffy duvets, which was like heaven, as they both immersed in each other's closeness and surrounded by the soft, white sheets…
"I was so in need of this…" she sighed happily, resting her head on his chest, while he just stroked her lovingly,
"You were right, this is really heaven." he smiled, kissing her head affectionately, "Hey, what is it?" he asked with a chuckle, as she started laughing to herself.
"Nothing…"
"You know, it's not fair to start laughing and not say anything," he teased her with a kiss,
"Just… I remembered that my mother would be happy about this."
"Does she really?" he asked with a mischievous smile,
"She said if she were me, she would be in bed with you."
"I'm loving your mum, sorry." he laughed,
"Just wait until you meet her…" she warned him with a chuckle, but he just grinned,
"I'm more than ready for the challenge."
"Of course, you are. I always knew you were a brave man," she smiled lovingly, "But now, tell me about this gorgeous idea of yours," she gestured around, "I mean, it's truly enchanting. How did you come up with the idea?"
"Actually, I had a little help…"
"Really? And who helped you?" she flirted, and as he answered, she felt touched.
"Ella…"
"Oh," she was a bit surprised.
"She sent me a few pictures of this movie night theme and lots of other ideas. So the credit goes to her, I'm just the creator."
"Does she…"
"What?" he braved her with a smile,
"Does she know why you needed those ideas?"
"Of course she does," he smiled, "She was so excited and happy."
"About the movie night?" she tried,
"About you of course," he answered, seeing the happiness in her eyes, "She was so happy that I found you."
"Really?" she smiled, relieved. "Just because children are usually not too happy about these kinds of things."
"Oh, she always tries to set me up with someone."
"Set up?" she chuckled in amazement,
"Yes, actually with all the female teachers at her school."
"I bet they didn't object too much."
"Well…" he smiled on a cute way,
"But now you're already taken…" she playfully kissed him, and he lovingly kissed her back,
"I was already taken before," he smiled at her. "Because you've been on my mind for a very long time."
"Do I really?" she teased him and shifted a bit, noticing he was in some pain, "Is everything okay?"
"Of course, I'm fine… really."
"…" she continued to look at him inquisitively,
"I swear," he chuckled, trying to convince her,
"That was your back, right? Does it hurt?" she asked worriedly, but he just smiled,
"Because of you, never." he replied, which made her smile… then her stomach started growling, so he added, "I really hope I don't have to go home now," he chuckled, while kissing her neck,
"No, of course not. I'm just kind of hungry."
"We can easily fix that." he smiled and reached for his phone. "It's pizza time. Is that okay with you?"
"Sure, what do you want to order?"
"Here's the list. Just pick anything you like," he handed her his phone.
"What do you think of this one? BBQ sauce, cheddar, roasted chicken, bacon and onions?"
"Perfect, I'm ordering it, family size?"
"Make it the king size, so there's something left for breakfast too."
"I love the way you're thinking," he kissed her, "Okay, it's done, it says forty-five minutes."
"Forty-five, hmm?" she asked cheekily, sharing a knowing smile with him.
"That's a lot of time before it arrives," he whispered in her neck, before they quickly lost themselves in their own little world again…
"This is so good…" she mumbled, taking another bite of the pizza, when his phone beeped, but he didn't react. "Don't you want to check what it is?"
"When I'm with you? No..." he complimented her, and in response, she gave him a sweet smile.
"But what if it's something important?"
"It sounds like a work email. They probably fired me, so that can definitely wait."
"But why would they fire you?" she asked, and he just looked at the two of them. "Oh, it's more of an advantage, believe me. But now I'm curious, so come on, let's check it."
"Really?" he asked with a smile, finding it a bit strange that she was so interested. "Okay, let's see what it is…"
"So?" she leaned closer,
"I got a pay raise…" he answered with disbelief.
"No way! How much?"
"Five hundred pounds."
"Congratulations," she smiled widely, but he just looked at her with a suspicious smile on his face, "… What?"
"Were you really able to give me a raise to pay back that two thousand pounds?"
"Don't be ridiculous, everybody got a raise in your team." she smiled sweetly,
"Really? And how do you know that?" he flirted, trying to catch her, but she was smart,
"I signed the papers, that's how."
"Uh-huh…"
"… What?"
"So you were able to give EVERYBODY a raise just to pay back the two thousand pounds for ME?" he grinned,
"I still don't know what you're talking about…" she smiled sweetly, and before she would kiss him, she added, "By the way, you said you would be a hero at work, didn't you?…"
The End
