"Hey Lito." Cena said as he was walking around backstage. I had to admit it felt like the early 2000's again with him and myself being back.
"Hey, have you seen LA?" I asked him and he nodded.
"He's in the arena... and I thought I was insufferable." he said and I smirked.
"You still are. Thanks, man." I said and he nodded.
I walked out and saw him sitting on a barrier with airpods in. I walked up to him and he pulled one out when he saw me.
"I heard you were looking for me." I said and he nodded.
"Yeah, I wanted to ask you to leave Kyle alone." he said and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Why?" I asked him as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Because she's my ex and we are just on a break." he said and I nodded. We talked about ex's last night and I knew from what she said it wasn't a break.
"Right, um, yeah I'm not going to stop talking to her or going out with her if she wants to." I said and he sighed.
"I'm not going to ask you again." he said and I actually chuckled at him.
"Whatever, man." I said and walked backstage. I was not about to deal with a delusional nutsack.
I walked back to the locker room and sat down.
"All good?" Rey asked me and I nodded. Rey had been around the company for a long time, so he had probably heard about this kind of shit before.
"Shaun wants me to leave Kyle alone because they are just on a break." I said and he chuckled.
"Everyone but him knows it's over." he said and I chuckled.
Kyle POV
I was sitting in the arena when I saw Carlito and Shaun talking. I could only imagine how it was going since Shaun looked intense and Carlito looked amused. I knew that he was going around telling people that we were just on a break, and I should care... but I didn't. I was over him, and it was funny to me that he wanted me back after I found him fucking someone else in our bed. I guess the pussy wasn't better on the other side. I also knew that I wasn't looking forward to being in a direct storyline with him.
"Hey." a voice said and I looked up to see Rhea. She sat next to me.
"What's up?" I asked her.
"Making sure you're ok. I heard that Shaun was saying you were getting back together." she said and I pursed my lips.
"His words... not mine. I actually went for drinks with Carlito last night." I said and she smiled at me.
"Good. How was it?" she asked me.
"He's really nice." I admitted and she chuckled.
"You sound like when I first met Matthew. He was nice, but I wasn't sure." she said and I smiled at her. She had talked to all of us about him, but they turned out to be perfect together as they are engaged now.
I talked to Rhea a bit, until I had to go get ready. I walked to Becky and Seth's locker room and knocked. I didn't want to walk in on them having sex again.
"Come in." Becky yelled and I walked in. Seth was going out first tonight, and was heading to gorilla.
"You figure out what's going on?" Becky asked me and I shook my head no.
"No, I did see him and Carlito talking. Rhea also came and asked me if I was getting back together with Shaun." I said and Becky shook her head.
"I'm sorry I ever encouraged you to date him." she said and I laughed.
I got changed. I wasn't going out in my gear tonight, but I was going to join the boys officially. Cody was the only one who knew that I was the one joining them. He had stopped me when we got there and we talked about it. He told me if it got uncomfortable with Shaun to just let him know. I was actually appreciative of that.
"I like the new look." she said and I smirked. I was in jeans, a black tank top, and a flannel button up over it. I was in high tops, and my hair was down. I had told them I wouldn't dress like a slut as long as I was wrestling, and they had understood that so far.
"I don't have to worry about gear for while." I joked and she smirked.
We were talking about what we were going to do on our days off when someone knocked. I glanced at Becky and she shrugged. I opened it to find Carlito standing there.
"Hey, can we talk?" he asked me and I nodded. I walked out into the hallway with him. He was in a tight LWO tshirt and joggers.
"Shaun was looking for me today, and asked me to stay away from you." he said and I ran my hands over my face. I was glad I hadn't been to makeup yet.
"I'm sorry and I get it if it's drama for you." I said and he chuckled.
"I don't care about him, but I do want to know if you want to grab food after the show?" he asked me.
"Sure, that would be great." I said and he smiled at me.
"I will find you after. Good luck on the new story line." he said and I smiled at him.
I walked back in and Becky was smiling.
"You were listening at the door." I said and she smirked.
"Me... no." she said and I laugh. I talked to her a bit longer before going to make up. We were opening the show tonight. They put on light makeup and I walked towards gorilla position. I saw Shaun, John, and Cody talking. Cody saw me and gave a small smile as I hid by some crates. They went out as they were supposed to since Judgement Day was opening the show.
"You ready?" Paul asked me when he spotted me and I nodded. He handed me a mic and motioned for me to go when Rhea was talking. I walked through the curtain with no music and people started to notice me.
"You are about as important as a white crayon... shut up." I said and cheers erupted as I walked down towards the ring. The guys parted and smirked when they saw me. Shaun was even looking over his sunglasses as the Judgement Day was rolling their eyes. I walked down and got into the ring with the help of John and Cody.
"I have been hearing you bitch and watching you interfere in every damn match your little dog toy has there so I figure it might be time to even the odds. So, what do you say boys? A girl on the team?" I asked them.
"I'm down for it." Cena said with a nod.
"Absolutely." Jey said.
"I will take those odds." Cody said and that left Shaun.
"What do say Knight?" I asked him.
"I don't know if you have what it takes." he said as the crowd booed and I smirked.
"Well since you are about as boring as a brick, and deep as a shot glass I'm not quite sure your vote actually counts since last time I checked you were a washed up version of him just wearing actual jeans." I said while pointing at Cena who was laughing and the crowd was cheering.
"3-1, man... she's in." Jey said and I smirked at him before turning my attention back to Judgement day as Rhea ran at me. Mayhem ensued as we got all of them out of the ring. Jey and Cody raised my arms as John and Shaun when around the ring pumping up the crowd.
We got backstage and everyone was cheering for us. Paul was clapping and motioned us over.
"Great job, especially Kyle." he said and I gave a small smile as I could see Shaun watching me.
"They love it. We are going to have this keep going and when John has to go back we are going to put someone in that can keep the mic hot as well. I also love the dynamic between Shaun and Kyle. We are going to use that." he said and I wanted to scream 'no', but I couldn't. I had actually done it to myself. He got done and Becky pulled me into a hug as Seth and Carlito were with her.
"You were great." Carlito said as he hugged me.
"Thanks, good luck on your match." I said and he nodded as he was about to go out.
"I will see you after." he said and started to go out.
"Kyle, do you have a second." Shaun said as he walked over to us.
"Not for you... I will speak to you about the story line and that's it." I said and turned to walk away, but stopped.
"Oh, and unless you want dirty laundry aired I suggest you stop telling people are on a break. The only break we had was when you broke my heart." I seethed at him before Becky offered me her arm. I took it and we walked back to her locker room... and I couldn't stop myself from smiling.
