Their Hope

Chapter 4

Once back on board the Resolute, O'Niner and Nub separate from Domino Squad. Who stay together with Allie, as the troopers of the 501st start to gather around, eager to hear about what happened on Rishi, with Domino gladly telling them the story. Allie smiles standing back next to Rex, at seeing them all still together, alive and having fun.

'You told a giant eel, nicely, to return Cutup to you,' Rex laughs at hearing this part of the tale, which he and Cody were not present for.

'Well I thought if I was rude, that he'd just eat him,' Allie smirks and leans against Rex's side.

'Tired?' Rex asks with a slight edge of concern in his voice.

'Exhausted, but don't tell the boys, they're having too much fun and I don't want to ruin it, because they will come with me,' Allie smiles softly, not seeing Rex's small smile in return at how much she clearly cares for the Domino squad.

'You seem very attached to them,' Rex comments, feeling Allie shrug.

'I haven't seen much of the war,' Allie confides in him.

'General Kenobi and General Skywalker are on their way to present meddles to the troops,' Rex tells her, having had Cody comm him down their private channel.

'Good they deserve it. I need to call Yoda after,' Rex is shocked at the casual way Allie referred to the Grand Master. 'I'm not really one for titles. Life's too short,' Allie tells him and Rex can see she means it, he knows all too well life is short, having seen far too many of his brothers cut down before their already short time.

The Domino squad stands in line with O'Niner and Nub to receive their medals from the Generals, as Allie watches on with pride. Afterwards the 501st goes back to celebrating when Rex announces that Domino will be staying with them.

'I do not know you,' Obi-Wan says walking over and stopping in front of Allie with Anakin at his side. This catches both Rex and Cody's attention.

'I wouldn't think you do Obi-Wan,' Allie smiles. 'I'm Allie, it's very nice to meet you,' Allie bows slightly to him. Sensing no ill will from the young woman or deceit, Obi-Wan smiles and bows in return. 'Could you help me make a call to Yoda please?'

'Of course,' Obi-Wan nods, 'follow us.' He leads the way, as Allie realises that Anakin is waiting to walk behind her, effectively trapping her between the two, making her feel slightly uncomfortable.

'Rex, can you keep an eye on the boys for me please,' Allie smiles gratefully as Rex nods at her, before she is lead away.

'That was tense. I wonder why our generals don't know her,' Cody ponders to Rex.

'I don't know,' Rex shakes his head and turns his attention back to Domino who are continuing their story, he smiles hearing how Hevy describes Allie's fighting style.

Once on the command deck Obi-Wan holo calls the council.

'How goes it Master Kenobi?' Mace Windu asks, in greeting.

'The outpost on the Rishi Moon has been destroyed, the Separatists tried to take it, and trick us by having the all clear signal still broad cast,' Obi-Wan answers gravely.

'Worrying, this is,' Yoda nods.

'They want to attack Kamino,' Allie pipes in.

'Makes sense, that does,' Yoda hums. 'Good to see you Allie, it is,' Yoda smiles at the young woman, knowing the Force sent her but not fully knowing why, that knowledge is hidden from him.

'Yes, I'm afraid I may have crashed, a little, again, you know me, I'm not very good at flying,' Allie jokes, shrugging her shoulders, grimacing a little.

'Another ship, you will need,' Yoda laughs.

'Maybe,' Allie giggles. 'Could I make a request?'

'Of course young one, ask.'

'If it's alright with Anakin, would it be okay if I stayed with the 501st, I feel like I need to be here.'

'Learnt to trust your feelings, I have. Grant your request, I do. If alright with Knight Skywalker, it is,' Yoda turns to look at Anakin.

'It's fine with me Master,' Anakin bows to Yoda and smiles at Allie.

'Settled, it is then. See you, next time you are on Coruscant, I will,' Yoda smiles one last time at Allie before cutting the holo call.

'I don't spend much time in the temple,' Allie offers Obi-Wan and Anakin.

'Where do you spend it?' Obi-Wan asks, intrigued by the unknown Jedi in front of him.

'Wherever the Force takes me, wherever it feels I am needed and right now it's telling me I need sleep,' Allie laughs.

'Let me show you to some quarters,' Anakin offers kindly, knowing if Padme found out he didn't help this young woman, he wouldn't hear the end of it.

'Thank you,' Allie bows to Obi-Wan before following Anakin to the officer's corridor.

'This one is free. Down that way are the troops barracks, if you want to go check on them before turning in,' Anakin smirks, having sensed earlier the bond growing between her and Domino squad.

'Nah, let them have their fun. I'll catch up with them later. Right now I feel like I could sleep for a year,' Allie says, clearly traveling from one dimension to another is tiring, waving at Anakin before entering her quarters, closing the door behind her, hearing his easy laugh, hoping she can save him from his fate.
