Chapter 07: Humans vs Duel Monsters

United World – Maiami City

Aoi, Asuka, Rua, Rio and an unconscious Jonouchi appeared back in Maiami City. "Huh? How did we get here? I thought we were in SOL Technologies VRAINS Lab." Rio was confused as they logged in from SOL Technologies Building.

"I don't know. But this is Maiami City. We're far away from Den City." Aoi looked at the city.

"Hey, Aoi. You're still in your Link VRAINS Avatar." Rua pointed out.

"Huh?" Aoi looked at her reflection and her eyes widened as she was still in her Blue Maiden avatar, not only that the others were still in their Guardian uniforms.

"How is this—" Blue Maiden lost her footing as the ground shook from an explosion.

"The city!" Asuka pointed to Maiami City. The buildings were all catching fire and the screams of the citizens reached the Guardians' ears.

Aoi's Duel Disk gave off a ring and she saw that her brother was calling. "Big Brother, what's going on?" Aoi put her Duel Disk on speaker.

"Aoi, it's bad! Duel Monsters are attacking the city!" Akira reported.

"Duel Monsters?" Rio was confused.

"Is it the Knights of Hanoi?" Rua asked.

"No, these monsters didn't come from any Duel Disk. These are real monsters, not from the Real Solid Vision System." Akira analyzed from his computer. "What's more a virus has infected Link VRAINS, causing everyone who was logged in to appear in the real world in their Avatar forms."

"What about our bodies?" Aoi asked.

"Don't worry, I'm looking at them right now. They seem fine, but Jonouchi's is looking a little worse for wear. Did something happen to him?" Akira asked.

"Yeah, I'll fill you in when I get to SOL Technologies. I need you to connect me to the former members of the Dimension Guardians." Aoi said.

"I'll try. Be careful, Aoi. It's very bad." Akira ended the call.

Aoi started dialing on her Duel Disk. "Who are you calling now?" Rio asked.

"Yuya, he has to know what's going on." Aoi finished dialing Yuya's number. Aoi's Duel Disk rang before the sound of the call being accepted was heard. "Yuya, something terrible has happened here."

"Yuya Ryuga is not able to come to the phone at the moment." A different voice answered. "Please leave a message so that he may never receive it."

"Who is this?" Aoi demanded, getting the attention of the others.

"I assume you have me on speaker? It's me…G.O.D. Genesis Omega Dragon." Genesis said.

"What have you done to Yuya?" Rua demanded.

"Geez, no hello? How are you doing? No, thanks for the invasion of Duel Monsters taking over your hometowns?" Genesis asked.

"You're insane." Rio insulted.

"Well that's not very nice now, is it?" Genesis pretended to be hurt. "Look, Guardians, you had a good run, but the time has come for Duel Monsters to be the dominant species of this world."

"So, you're just doing this so you can be in control?" Asuka questioned.

"Well, you have been using my kind as tools for your entertainment and personal use. I just want you to know the pain that we go through. I think I'll turn all of you into Normal Monsters with 0 Attack Points." Genesis said.

"Where is Yuya?!" Aoi yelled angrily.

"Ow, that hurt my ear." Genesis winced. "Geez, relax, Yuya is actually helping me with this paradise of mine."

"Quit lying." Aoi growled.

"It's the truth, Yuya and I have formed a commensalism." Genesis answered.

"Commensalism or Parasitism?" Aoi was getting angrier.

"There's a difference?" Genesis asked in a confused tone. "Hang on, let me check…oh sorry it's a parasitism. My bad."

"Genesis, you release Yuya right now, or you will face the anger of every single member of the Guardians that you will wish that we killed you instantly!" Aoi threatened.

"Oh, I'm so scared." Genesis pretended to be frightened. "I'm Genesis Omega Dragon, aka, G.O.D."

"Oh, cut the bullshit you—" Aoi unleashed a string of curses that forced Asuka to cover Rua's ears.

"Dang…" Rio was impressed and terrified of Aoi's language.

"She hung up." Aoi heard the call ended.

"So, what do we do, Captain?" Rio asked.

"We should get to Yuya's house. We need to get his family to safe—" A loud roar was heard and Aoi saw a large shadow over them. "Move!" The Guardians moved out of the way with Asuka carrying Jonouchi.

"Tch. I missed." The one that landed was a Duel Monster, Berserk Gorilla.

"The monkey talked?!" Rua exclaimed.

"Who are you calling a monkey, brat!" Berserk Gorilla shouted at Rua. "I'll kill you first!" Berserk Gorilla revealed that he had a large Duel Disk on his arm and activated it.

"Hold it! Your opponent is me!" Aoi declared. Since she was in the real world, her Duel Disk changed into an older version that was blue with a pink gem.

"It's a good thing my brother created physical copies of my cards." Aoi reached into her belt and took out a physical deck and inserted it into her Duel Disk and an aqua colored blade was formed.

"Oh, so you want to die first? Very well, our orders were to kill the Guardians!" Berserk Gorilla inserted his deck into his Duel Disk.

"You will lose and so will Genesis!" Aoi declared.

"Duel!" Aoi and Berserk Gorilla declared.

"I'm going first! I set a monster in Defense Position!" Berserk Gorilla played a monster face-down. "Next, I set one card and end my turn!"

"My turn! Draw!" Aoi drew her card. "We can't play with this monkey for too long? I know Yuya's family are capable Duelists, but it'll be harder for them to fight and protect Yuka, Yumiko, Yukio and Yusaku at the same time."

"From my hand, I activate the Magic Card: Marincess Fusion! I fuse two Marincess monsters in my hand to perform a Fusion Summon!" This alerted Berserk Gorilla. "I fuse Marincess Snake and Marincess Lizard!" Two female monsters that had the characteristics of a snake and lizard entered the spiraling vortex.

"Marine princess of the serpents, join together with your fellow princess of the reptilians and give birth to a mighty warrior! Fusion Summon! Appear! Level 7! Marincess Leviathan (ATK: 2400, LV: 7)!" Aoi summoned a mature woman that wore the armor of the ancient leviathan.

"I activate Marincess Leviathan's effect!" Aoi's Extra Deck opened and Aoi grabbed a card that was popped out. "By sending a random Marincess Link Monster from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard, when Marincess Leviathan attacks a monster in Defense Position, it deals piercing damage!"

"What?!" Berserk Gorilla was shocked.

"Battle! Marincess Leviathan, attack the Defense Monster! Echo Wave!" Marincess Leviathan unleashed a powerful wave attack that destroyed the set monster and damaged Berserk Gorilla.

Berserk Gorilla LP: 8000→5700

"The monster you destroyed is Nimble Flying Squirrel. When this monster is destroyed in battle and sent to the Graveyard, I recover 1000 Life Points!" Berserk Gorilla reversed some of the damage done to him.

Berserk Gorilla LP: 5700→6700

"Furthermore, I'm able to summon two more Nimble Flying Squirrels from my deck in face-down Defense Position!" Berserk Gorilla set two more copies.

"He strengthened his defenses." Aoi looked at her hand. "I set one card and end my turn!"

"Draw!" Berserk Gorilla started his turn. "I release my two Nimble Flying Squirrels!" The two monsters disappeared. "I Advance Summon Ancient Crimson Ape (ATK: 2600, LV: 7)!" A large red ape appeared on the field.

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Wild Nature's Release! I select one Beast or Beast-Warrior monster on my field and it gains Attack Points equal to its Defense Points until the end of this turn!" Ancient Crimson Ape roared as it gained power.

Ancient Crimson Ape (ATK: 2600→4400)

"It was already stronger than Marincess Leviathan, but he made it even more powerful." Rua sweated.

"Battle! Ancient Crimson Ape, attack Marincess Leviathan!" Ancient Crimson Ape charged towards Marincess Leviathan.

"I activate my Trap Card: Marincess Bubble Ring! When a monster declares an attack, I can negate that attack and Special Summon Marincess Crystal Heart from my Extra Deck or Graveyard!" Aoi played her trap and grabbed the card from her Graveyard. "Appear! Marincess Crystal Heart (ATK: 0, LNK: 2)!" Aoi brought out a heart shaped gem.

"Alright! She stopped the attack and his monster will be destroyed at the end of his turn!" Rio smiled.

"That'll allow Aoi to deal massive damage on her next turn!" Asuka smiled.

"I activate my Trap Card: Cattle Mutilation! I return one Beast-type monster on my field back to my hand and then Special Summon a Beast-type monster from my hand that is the same Level as the monster that was returned! I return Ancient Crimson Ape to my hand!" Ancient Crimson Ape returned to Berserk Gorilla's hand.

"I Special Summon this monster! Appear! Animal King Behemoth (ATK: 2700, LV: 7)!" Berserk Gorilla summoned a large beast to the field.

"He had a stronger monster in his hand all this time?!" Rua was shocked.

"We Duel Monsters have supreme tactics compared to you puny humans!" Berserk Gorilla boasted. "Animal King Behemoth, attack Crystal Heart!"

"I activate Crystal Heart's effect! When this monster is targeted for an attack, I can send one Marincess monster from my hand to the Graveyard and Crystal Heart isn't destroyed and I take no Battle Damage!" Aoi protected herself.

"You humans have stubbornness that has no bounds." Berserk Gorilla commented. "From my hand, I activate the Continuous Magic: Behemoth Pride Push! I can only activate this card during the Main Phase 2. After a Beast-type monster on my field battles, at the End Phase of my turn, my opponent takes damage equal to that Beast-type monster's Attack Points!"

"What?!" Aoi gasped.

"I end my turn! Now take Behemoth's Attack Points as damage!" Behemoth King ran towards Aoi and knocked her back.

"Aoi!" Asuka, Rio and Rua cried.

"U-Urgh…" Aoi winced as she sat up. "He's really good."

"We Duel Monsters have been used by you Duelists for too long, through the many times that I have been summoned by different Duelists using my card, I've analyzed and determined countermeasures for almost any situation. The same is said for the other monsters." Berserk Gorilla said.

"I see…" Aoi got on her feet. "Because there are multiple copies of your card that are scattered throughout the world, you've been able to see all kinds of combos and strategies when you were on the field.

"That's right. Being in multiple places at once allows me to gain much more experience than you humans have throughout your entire life." Berserk Gorilla smiled.

"Then you should know that a single card and change the flow of a Duel! My turn! Draw!" Aoi drew her card and the circuit appeared above her. "I set the Link 2 Crystal Heart and Leviathan!" Crystal Heart took up two markers while Leviathan took a third marker.

"Link Summon! Appear! Link 3! Marincess Coral Triangle (ATK: 1500, LNK: 3)!" Aoi summoned a princess with green hair and coral ornaments.

"Next, I Normal Summon Marincess Blue Tang (ATK: 1500, LV: 4)!" Aoi summoned another princess. "When Blue Tang is summoned, I can send one Marincess monster from my deck to the Graveyard!" Aoi sent a card to her Graveyard.

"Appear! Circuit of love and bonds!" The circuit appeared above Blue Maiden once more. "The summoning conditions at least two Water Monsters! I set the Link 3 Coral Triangle and Blue Tang!" The monsters went into four markers.

"The mother ocean's deep blue! Gather in my hand for the power of affection and purification! Link Summon! Appear, Link 4! Marincess Great Bubble Reef (ATK: 2600, LNK: 4)!" A stronger princess appeared on the field.

"When Marincess Blue Tang is used as material for a Link Summon, her effect allows me to look at the top three cards of my deck and add one Marincess card among them!" Aoi looked at her hand and added another card.

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Marker Treasure! This card allows me to draw one card for every Link Marker on a Link Monster that I control! Great Bubble Reef has four markers, so I draw four cards!" Aoi drew four cards. "I'm ending this Duel now!"

"What?" Berserk Gorilla questioned.

"From my Graveyard, I activate Marincess Leviathan's effect! By banishing this card, I can Special Summon its Fusion Materials from the Graveyard! Revive! Marincess Snake (ATK: 1600, LV: 4)! Marincess Lizard (ATK: 1400, LV: 4)!" Aoi brought back her two monsters.

"Marincess Great Bubble Reef's effect activates! When a monster is banished from the field or Graveyard, this card gains 600 Attack Points until the end of this turn!"

Great Bubble Reef (ATK: 2600→3200)

"It's greater than Behemoth's Attack Points!" Berserk Gorilla got alarmed.

"Next, with my Level 4 Marincess Snake and Marincess Lizard, I construct the Overlay Network!" Aoi's Duel Disk created the Overlay Network and her monsters went inside it.

"Aquatic Princess, rise from the depths of the sea and drown your enemies that would harm the people you love! Xyz Summon! Appear! Rank 4! Marincess Salacia (ATK: 2500, RNK: 4, OVU: 2)!" Aoi summoned a beautiful woman wearing royal clothes.

"I activate Great Bubble Reef's effect! By sending one Marincess monster from my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon one banished Marincess Monster! Revive! Marincess Leviathan (ATK: 2400, LV: 7)!" Aoi's Fusion Monster came back.

"Battle! Great Bubble Reef, attack Animal King Behemoth! Bubble Beam!" Great Bubble Reef unleashed a beam of bubbles that destroyed Behemoth and damaged Berserk Gorilla.

Berserk Gorilla LP: 6700→6200

"Next, Marincess Leviathan! Direct Attack! Echo Wave!" Marincess Leviathan unleashed her attack, making Berserk Gorilla struggling to fight against the powerful waves.

Berserk Gorilla LP: 6200→3800

"Last, Marincess Salacia! Direct Attack! Water Beam!" Salacia gathered water in her hands and unleashed it on Berserk Gorilla.

Berserk Gorilla LP: 3800→1300

"I activate Marincess Salacia's effect! After it battles, by using one Overlay Unit, I can reduce its Attack Points by 1000 and launch another attack!" Aoi revealed.

"What?!" Berserk Gorilla gasped.

Marincess Salacia (OVU: 2→1, ATK: 2500→1500)

"Fine this! Salacia! Direct Attack! Consecutive Water Beam!" Salacia unleashed her attack and Berserk Gorilla was knocked off his feet and crashed on his back.

Berserk Gorilla LP: 1300→0

Winner: Aoi Zaizen

"Alright! She did it!" Rua cheered.

"U-Urgh…I've lost…forgive me, Genesis…" Berserk Gorilla's body glowed and then turned into a million fragments of light and scattered, leaving behind only his Duel Disk.

"What?" Aoi was shocked by what she saw.

"Not bad for defeating a Duel Monster." Appearing front of Aoi was Lightning and his Duelist.

"Lightning." Aqua emerged from her Duel Disk.

"Though you shouldn't call yourselves Guardians anymore. Thanks to you, the people that use the Berserk Gorilla card will never be able to use it anymore." Lightning said.

"What do you mean?" Rio questioned.

"You faced an actual Duel Monster, not a spirit. Like you, Duel Monsters only have one life. With both his body and spirit gone, Berserk Gorilla no longer exists in the Duel Monsters game. As we're speaking the cards that he is printed on are turning to ash and being erased from existence." Lightning explained.

"So, you're saying that no one can use Berserk Gorilla ever again?" Asuka asked.

"That's exactly what I'm saying. You may have won this battle, but this is a tactical victory for us. Now the Duelists that rely on Berserk Gorilla for their Beast Decks will now be defenseless against our attacks." Lightning revealed.

"No way…all those people." Aoi couldn't believe what she heard.

"For being a Guardian, you took away their only way to fight back. For every Duel Monster you Duel and defeat, that card will be disappeared, further crippling your fighters. One loss for us will soon turn to at least 50 wins for us later, more or less." Lightning calculated.

"In that case, I'll defeat you!" Aoi prepared to Duel again. She then felt a sharp pain in her stomach and winced.

"Aoi, are you okay?" Rua asked with concern.

"Oh, that's right. The Duel Monsters use the power of darkness to make the damage real. And as much as I want to eliminate the both of you, I have other matters to attend to. But rest assured, we will battle again." Lightning waved.

"Lightning, you would be wise not to underestimate our bonds." Aqua warned.

"I'm not. In fact, your bonds will be your downfall." Lightning said as he disappeared.

Aoi gritted her teeth and punched the ground. "Aoi. Don't let him get to you. And don't let what Genesis say cloud your judgement. You're the leader of the Guardians, you have to be the leader that Yuya believed would be better than him." Aqua looked at her partner.

"I know…" Aoi calmed down.

Just then the sound of a helicopter came over the group. "Aoi!" Opening the helicopter door was Akira.

"Brother." Aoi smiled.

United World – Kul Elna

Lightning came back to the underground temple in Kul Elna where Genesis was waiting for him. "Well done, Lightning. Now they'll be cautious which will lead them to make mistakes."

"Maybe, but why are still preventing me from finishing the job? The sooner we exterminate those Guardians, the better our chances of paradise coming true." Lightning argued.

"You're right, exterminating the Guardians would hasten our plans for paradise. But that would be an act of mercy." Genesis said.

"Oh?" Lightning got intrigued.

"Simply killing them won't really end the war, the people who were influenced by them will try to take revenge. And if they die, the connections they made to other people will make them fight back harder. It keeps going and going, never ending." Genesis explained.

"But by defeating them without killing them, they will be forced to watch the world change around them. They'll be forced to watch as we use them for our own game. They'll have the live the rest of their lives, knowing that they failed and that there is no hope of ever taking back what was." Genesis emphasized.

"Ah, no I understand the meaning of fates far worse than death." Lightning realized. "That is genius."

"Thank you." Genesis smiled. "But we still have a lot of preparing to do. I need you to run the Nightmare Simulation on our guest in pod five. We need to give our army a boost in power."

"Understood." Lightning was about to leave.

"After you're done with that…go and have some fun." Genesis made a sweet smile.

"Oh, how I've waited to hear those words." Lightning chuckled.

United World – Leo Corporation

"I'm glad that you all made it here." Reiji said with sincerity as the current and former Guardians had now gathered around him. Akira had brought, Aoi, Rua, Rio and Asuka to Leo Corporation where it was revealed that the Ryuga-Muto family, as well as their friends and family were safely evacuated.

"Is Jonouchi going to be okay?" Rua asked.

"We'll do everything we can to make sure he recovers. For now, just have faith that he'll pull through." Reiji looked in the medical room where Jonouchi was surrounded by Akari, Yuma and the rest of the Tsukumo family.

"But what the hell is going on? Duel Monsters just appearing and attacking us. How many people are we fighting?" Sawatari asked.

"No one is controlling the Duel Monsters. They're acting of their own free will. Earlier, my little sister faced a Berserk Gorilla in a Duel." Akira explained.

"You've faced a Duel Monster in a Duel?" Gongenzaka's eyes widened.

"Yes." Aoi nodded. "And I won the Duel, but I think I made things worse. Lightning appeared afterward and he explained that all Berserk Gorilla cards were now gone."

"You sure he wasn't lying?" Yugo asked.

"It is truth." Reiji confirmed. "I've received reports all over the world that Duelists with the Berserk Gorilla card could no longer summon it and they were struck down by other Duel Monsters."

"Meaning even if we win against those monsters, we'll only end up hurting ourselves." Yuto summarized.

"And they know that so they'll keep attacking no matter what." Yuri said.

"And I'm afraid it gets worse." Reiji lowered his head. "I received a call from Egypt. The expedition team was attacked by Genesis and her followers. Two of them managed to escape, but Pharaoh Atem and Yuya were taken by them."

"No way…you're lying…" Yugi got upset.

"I'm sorry, but it's the truth." Aoi spoke. "I called Yuya but it was Genesis that answered. Genesis is using Yuya for something, what it is I don't know."

"That bitch…" Serena cursed and walked away, only for the door to close on her. "Open the door!" Serena yelled at Reiji.

"You are not allowed to leave." Reiji said.

"She wasn't asking! Open the door now!" Rin yelled.

"And what do you plan to do?" Crow got in front of Rin and had a stern look on his face as he carried Yukio.

"Isn't obvious. We're gonna save Yuya!" Ruri declared.

"Ruri, you can't leave. I'm with Reiji on this one." Shun said as he held Yumiko.

"You're saying we should just leave Yuya at the hands of that monster!" Yuzu got livid.

"Yuzu, no one is saying that." Shuzo tried to calm his daughter while carrying Yuka.

"We will save Yuya. But you four have something else to do." Reiji said.

"Something else more important than saving our husband!" Serena was out of patience. "Yuya has repeatedly risked his life to help us, to help all of us! He needs us now more than ever and now you're telling us that we can't go save him?"

"Serena, just—" Johan was gonna speak as he held Yusaku.

"I'll handle this." Yoko walked towards the girls. "I know your girls love him, and it's understandable that you want to go save him."

"Then why won't you let us go?" Yuzu asked.

"You four are just like me. A loving and caring wife. You would do anything for the man you want to spend the rest of your life with." Yoko walked up to Yuji and hugged his arm.

"But you're also a mother." Yoko patted Yumi on the head making her giggle.

This made Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena realize what she meant. They were so focused on helping Yuya, the thought of their children didn't even come up. If they didn't come back, their children would have to grow up without their parents.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Yuzu started to cry and went to her daughter.

"Yumiko…I won't ever leave you." Ruri teared up and took her daughter from Shun's arms.

"My little baby…" Rin took Yukio from her brother.

"Yusaku…" Serena looked at her son. "I'm so sorry. I almost left you by yourself."

"Now that we are all calmed down, I have everyone's assignments." Reiji said.

Nightmare Simulation

"You…could've saved…us…" The dying faces of Kazama and Godwin, as well as the many that had died during Zero Reverse were all begging to be saved.

"Get away from him! He's a monster!" The residents of the Xyz Dimension all had frightful looks on their faces.

"You call yourself a hero?" The disappointed look on Samejima's face as well as the tone of his voice, made it really chilling. "You disgrace the name of Dragon Soldier."

"Master!" Yuya reached out Samejima but he disappeared.

"Take care…of…Yuya…" Yuya heard the sound of his father and he saw Zarc being sucked away.

"Dad!" Yuya screamed but Zarc was gone.

"Yuya, I love you so much." Yuya saw his mom with the Four Nature Cards and Four Nature Dragons.

"Mom!" Yuya reached out to Ray but she played the cards and vanished.

"All this…because of you…" Yuya turned and saw Yusho staring him down with hatred.

"If only you never existed! If only you were dead!" Yusho yelled in anger.

"Enough!" Yuya tackled Yusho away from him. "You were responsible for what happened! You don't belong her!" Yuya raised his arm and his Duel Disk appeared.

"Die!" Yusho activated his Duel Disk.

"Duel!" Yuya and Yusho declared.

"4000 Life Points…" Yuya looked at his Duel Disk. "I see, we're using Master Duel rules."

"My turn!" Yuya grabbed a card in his hand. "I summon Odd-Eyes Pegasus (ATK: 1400, LV: 3)!" Yuya summoned his Pegasus with dichromatic eyes.

"Appear! Circuit of the Guardians!" The circuit appeared and Odd-Eyes Pegasus went to a Link Marker. "Link Summon! Appear! Link 1! Odd-Eyes Fallen Pegasus (ATK: 800, LNK: 1)!" Appearing was a darker version of Pegasus with the same dichromatic eyes.

"When I have a Link Monster on my field, I can Special Summon Link Magician (ATK: 800, LV: 2, PS: 3) from my hand!" Yuya summoned a small female magician with a staff that looked like a circuit.

"I activate Odd-Eyes Fallen Pegasus's effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Beast-type Odd-Eyes monster from my hand! But at the End Phase, that monster is banished from the field! Appear! Odd-Eyes Lion (ATK: 1600, LV: 4)!" Yuya summoned his dichromatic lion.

"Appear once more! Circuit of the Guardians!" The circuit appeared once more. "The summoning conditions are at least 2 Odd-Eyes Beast-type monsters! I set Odd-Eyes Fallen Pegasus, Lion and Link Magician into the Link Markers!" The three monsters went into the Link Markers.

"Beast with dichromatic eyes, enter the world of technology and create your kingdom! Link Summon! Appear! Link 3! Odd-Eyes King Kong (ATK: 2300, LNK: 3)!" Yuya summoned large monkey.

"Odd-Eyes King Kong's effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Link Monster from my Graveyard to its Link Markers! I Special Summon Odd-Eyes Fallen Pegasus (ATK: 800, LNK: 1)!" Yuya brought back his dark Pegasus. "Also, King Kong gains Fallen Pegasus Attack Points since its linked to it and deals the difference between its current Attack Points and original Attack Points!"

Odd-Eyes King Kong (ATK: 2300→3100)

King Kong banged his chest before punching the ground, making Yusho stumble and take a knee.

Yusho LP: 4000→3200

"I set one card and end my turn!" Yuya finished his turn.

Yuya LP: 4000, Hand: 1
Yusho LP: 3200, Hand: 5

"Dealing damage on the first turn…what an amateur move." Yusho mocked. "My turn! Draw!" Yusho drew his card.

"I activate the Ritual Magic: Entermate High Advent! I release an Entermate monster in my hand or field to Ritual Summon an Entermate High Ritual Monster from my hand!" Yusho revealed.

"Entermate High?" Yuya questioned.

"I release the Level 7 Entermate Sky Magician!" Sky Magician turned into seven blue flames forming a ring.

"Magician that has soared to the heavens above, swoop down on this stage and shock the audience with your magnificence! Ritual Summon! Appear! Level 7! Entermate High Sky Magician (ATK: 3000, LV: 7)!" Yusho summoned an evolved version of Sky Magician.

"Entermate High Sky Magician's effect activates! Once per turn, I can negate the effects of one monster on the field by sending one Entermate monster from my hand to the Graveyard!" Yusho discarded a card to his hand. "I negate the effect of your Odd-Eyes King Kong!" King Kong's power increase disappeared.

King Kong (ATK: 3100→2300)

"Battle! High Sky Magician, attack King Kong!" High Sky Magician went for the attack.

"I activate my Trap Card: Attack Nullification! This negates your attack and end the Battle Phase!" Yuya played his set card.

"I won't let you! When my opponent activates a Magic or Trap Card during the Battle Phase, High Sky Magician negates its activation and banishes!" High Sky Magician used magic to banish Yuya's card and the attack went through and destroyed King Kong.

Yuya LP: 4000→3300

"Next, I activate the effect of Entermate Nightmare Knight from my Graveyard! By banishing this card from my Graveyard, I can inflict 1000 points of damage to every player that took battle damage this turn!" A large dark orb appeared in front of Yusho and it launched itself at Yuya making him skid back and take a knee.

Yuya LP: 3300→2300

"Damn it…" Yuya cursed.

"At the end of the Battle Phase, if I used High Sky Magician's effect, my opponent is allowed to draw one card. Now, draw your card." Yusho said and Yuya drew his card.

"Next, I activate the Continuous Magic: Clash of Titans! As long as this card is on the field, my opponent cannot attack my monsters unless they are the same type as the monsters that I have on my field, furthermore, they must also meet the summoning requirement used to bring it out!" Yusho revealed.

"What?" Yuya questioned.

"Since I Ritual Summoned High Sky Magician, the only monster that can attack it is a Ritual Spellcaster-type monster and it must be Ritual Summoned!" Yusho clarified.

"Yusho's deck revolves mostly around Spellcaster-type monsters. Meaning if I'm going to win, I must bring out my Paladins." Yuya thought.

"I set one card and end my turn!" Yusho finished his turn.

Yuya LP: 2300, Hand: 2
Yusho LP: 3100, Hand: 0

"My turn! Draw!" Yuya drew his card.

"Continuous Trap: Warlord Supremacy! As long as this card is on the field, once per turn, when my opponent summons or Special Summons a monster that is the same type as mine, I can negate their summon and destroy it! Furthermore, the opponent takes damage equal to the destroyed monster's Attack Points!" Yusho revealed.

"What?!" Yuya gasped.

"This is bad, the only way I can attack is if I summon the same type of monster that Yusho has on the field. But the moment I summon it, his trap will destroy it and will only damage me." Yuya thought.

"Now, what will you do?" Yusho smirked with pride, making Yuya sweat.

United World – Maiami City Airport

"Don't worry, I'll bring Yuya back." Aoi promised Yuzu, Ruri, Rin and Serena as she, Rua, Asuka, Rio, Reiji and Sawatari boarded a plan for Egypt.

"Please, Aoi." Yuzu requested.

"I leave the rest to you three!" Reiji shouted to Yuto, Yugo and Yuri.

"Yeah! We'll make sure everyone is evacuated!" Yuto called back.

"It's been a while since we were back in action like this." Yugo smiled.

"The Dragon Soldiers are united once more." Yuri crossed his arms confidently.

"Alright, Egypt, here we come!" Sawatari declared as the plane began to take off.

"Hang on, Yuya. We're coming for you." Aoi thought.
