Star Fox Adventures - Dark Ice mines (Night)
Dust was kicked up as the Arwing, once more in walker mode, fluttered its small wings as it descended to the city streets below.
Cerinians of all ages stopped to stare in awe at the sight of their great hero descending from the heavens above, clearing the way for him as he landed before them.
"Okay, we're on the ground again. How are you feeling Krystal?" Fox muttered into her neck, voice lightly muffled by her fur.
"Oh Fox, I'm doing wonderfully…" Krystal breathed happily, unable to hide the large genuine smile on her lips. "That was simply otherworldly, I do not think it possible to put into words."
He smiled. "I'll take that as a yes. I'm glad you enjoyed the flight." He hummed, nuzzling into her neck. He simply couldn't get enough of her, and he was going to get as much physical attention as he could when possible.
"You're drawing quite a crowd, Honey… Please do make sure to not step on my people." She teased, turning to meet his lips with her own in a surprise kiss.
"Yes ma'am." He saluted jokingly, sticking his tongue out.
The walker turned towards the street, giving both of them a clear view of their awed crowd. Fox waved at the people, an action mirrored by Krystal herself.
At the appearance of their great savior, some of the vixens in the crowd began drawing upon their magic, creating a showy display to welcome their guests.
Streams of blue and red swirled around the Arwing, trails of sparkling orbs that looked like floating spheres of water danced around the vehicle like they had minds of their own. The orbs then collected together to form twin snakes of water, snakes that gently yet firmly directed the walker towards its destination.
"W-Woah, I didn't know they could do that." Fox gasped lightly, pawing the controls as he felt the walker shoved forward towards a large building.
Krystal giggled at his surprise. "Remember Darling? I told you my people were well versed in the magical arts. I must invite you to the yearly ceremony on the eve of the festival, you will be amazed at what is possible."
"It'll be a date then." He said confidently, smirking behind her.
From there, Fox allowed the crowd of magic using vixens to direct him into the building, a large structure that seemed to serve as a courthouse of sorts. Guards were stationed outside, the vixens gaping in surprise at the sight of the metallic creature that entered the room. However, upon seeing their Queen resting gently inside, they all bowed in respect.
Careful to not kick anyone, Fox allowed himself to be directed to the main chambers. As they reached the doors, he stopped to allow Krystal to exit the walker.
"I'm sorry Darling, but this is where we shall part ways. As much as I enjoy your company, I am afraid the chieftains may not take kindly to a male joining the meeting." Krystal apologized softly, pressing a kiss to his lips before she moved to leave.
"O-Oh, I see…" He muttered, trying to hide his dejection. "I'll be out here then. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." He comforted.
"Okay Darling." She cooed, leaping from the cockpit of the walker. Within moments she was gone, and he was alone in the halls just outside the main counsel chambers.
He sighed, sinking into his seat.
Maybe he could get a quick nap in while he waited, because from the sound of it, it was going to be a while…
Of course, that reality could only come true if he was left alone, and he knew immediately that he wasn't getting that nap in when he sensed that he was being watched.
Cracking open one eye, he peered through the cockpit to find three young faces staring right back at him, standing on the nose of the walker.
''Well, there goes that nap…'' He thought dryly, smirking up at the three young vixens outside his ship.
"A-Are you Lord McCloud? The hero from the heavens?!" The first vixen asked in starstruck awe, fangirling over him.
"Oh my gosh, it's really him!" Another cooed in awe.
"This is unbelievable! Does Lady Krystal know?" The third asked, turning to her friends.
"Oh! I don't know! We should find her at once!" The first Cerinian nodded eagerly.
"Okay okay girls, settle down." Fox laughed, pawing the back of his head. "Krystal is inside the council chamber right now in an important meeting, I don't think she'd be all that happy if you interrupted her, now would she?" He added lightly, amused as the three vixens seemed to hang off of his every word.
"W-Wait! Those garments! Only royalty may wear those!" One squeaked in realization.
"O-Oh my! Th-Then that must mean…"
"Are you Lady Krystal's husband?" The third questioned, eyes sparkling.
Fox laughed, smiling brightly. "That's me."
The three devolved into adorable fits of giggles, viewing him in an entirely different light now. "We've got to tell everyone!" They exclaimed in glee, running off like over excited children. He laughed as he watched them go, the three of them disappearing outside the council building.
"Alright… Maybe I might actually get that nap in…" He muttered to himself, leaning back to get comfortable.
And, as if fate had a funny way of telling him that naps simply weren't allowed, he was once again awoken by someone knocking on his window.
This time, however, three faces had grown into thirty…
''Oh no… They brought friends…'' He thought dryly, turning his walker to face the crowd surrounding him. Realizing that he was probably going to get pulled into entertaining a whole crowd now, he decided to leave the Arwing. But not before slipping on a certain little device he'd crafted in the few months since the end of the war. It was a collar that allowed him to remotely command the Arwing, give it orders and what not. It had proved extremely useful in moments where he was required to quickly leave a planet when his location had been compromised.
Hopping out of the ship, he commanded it to stay by the council chambers and retrieve Krystal when the meeting had adjourned.
While he allowed himself to be lead by the hand by the young Cerinians, the Arwing turned to the chamber doors on its own, before bending down to rest on its belly. Appearing over the glossy blue cockpit were two green holograms, shaped like sharp graphic dots, serving as eyes.
"Command received, Master. Initiating observation mode." A robotic yet distinctly feminine voice echoed out, but no one was around to hear it…
The barrage of chatter dimmed to a screeching halt as the Queen of Cerinia strutted into the main chamber, all else in attendance already waiting for her arrival. Whatever gossip or conversation that had been carried on prior to her arrival petered out when her signature blue fur was spotted entering the doors.
"Ah, our fair Queen has finally decided to grace us with her presence. Perhaps now we may begin the meeting?" A snarky voice chirped from across the hall, a grungy old grey fox staring pointedly at the leader of the Cerinians.
Krystal, for all her posturing and elegance, took the pointed jab at her lateness on the cheek and did not stab back. It would be unbecoming of a great and wondrous vixen such as herself to debase herself to that low a level, especially if it was only in the way of retaliation.
"Greetings, Harkon. I do hope that my late arrival has not brought any unnecessary irritation to the council?" She greeted lightly, her voice the picture of elegance and grace.
"O-Of course not, my Lady! The council would never display such a level of pettiness so as to grow tired by waiting, that is beneath us." A beautiful red furred vixen appeased, face flushed as she addressed her leader appropriately.
"Why thank you Fachina, your words are a kindness towards me. I do so appreciate you and your presence here in the council this day." Krystal smiled at the young red vixen, taking a hidden pleasure in the reddening of her fur around her cheeks.
"Shall we begin, my Lady? The council has important news to bring to our Queen. All here in attendance deeply desire your thoughts on these pressing matters at hand." Another vixen spoke up, only pausing to adjust her round glasses resting on the bridge of her delicate pink nose.
Krystal turned to face the pink furred fox with a smile, amused by the young and studious vixen's eagerness to address her important matters. "Why of course, Verla, I am eager to hear what news needs be brought to my attention." She stated kindly, offering the young vixen a warm smile that had said pink furred fox turning a light shade of red at the attention.
"If we are done making small talk, it is imperative that we begin the dialogue." Harkon muttered, struggling to keep the irritation out of her voice. She had little patience for her great leader's slow and delicate way of handling her matters.
Krystal's eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the rude disposition from the aging fox, but once more said nothing as she instead took her seat at the head of the table. On her right was Verla, chieftain of Valarian tribe. While on her left hand side was Fachina, chieftain of the Fulcain tribe.
Although it did not seem to be the case, the Queen felt far more comfortable when surrounded by her two most trusted chieftains. If some would speak against her voice in any matter, these two would always side with her, no matter the circumstances.
It was something she always greatly appreciated, and she was certainly sure to show them just how grateful she was after the fact.
"Let us not beat around the bush. Lady Krystal, I have come here today to discuss the ongoing negotiations with the Fairclaw tribe and their requests to be integrated into our people's society. As you well know, due to their old relations with the Sharpclaw tribes, they have been viewed harshly by our people. However, since the war's end, they have not acted out of line. Furthermore, as a show of good faith, they have offered their Princess to become your mistress servant. They offer her in the hopes that they can further their good will with the Queen, my Lady." The aging grey vixen stated, adjusting the papers in her paws.
Krystal pawed at her chin in serious contemplation, not immediately willing to turn them down. She had been personally keeping her eyes on the snake-like tribe since the war, and had been secretly pleased by their submissive nature towards her people ever since.
''The Fairclaws, hmmm…?'' The blue furred vixen thought to herself, glancing upwards as she imagined how such a relationship would go. ''Although I am loath to introduce any Sharpclaw related species to my people, the Fairclaw's have been very well behaved as a people. I suppose it would be cruel of me to turn down their offer, and I am sure my Darling Fox would appreciate the company when I am away. I do not wish for him to grow lonely in my absence, I am but merely one vixen…'' She thought deviously, smirking inwardly at the train of thought. She only hoped he would enjoy her presence, she hated the idea of doing something that would anger him so.
She was sure having even more alluring females in his presence would at least ensure his happiness. After all, if his species was anything akin to her own, he would appreciate the carnal expressions shared between each other any time of the day. It was after all what she had done to sooth that ache in her heart during his absence, yet she had limited herself to her choice of female attendants as she was more then willing to save herself for his eventual return.
And she was very, very pleased that she had.
Yes, having more females hanging off of his arms would make it easier for her to rule her kingdom while ensuring he was loved and tended to daily without having to spend all of her time by his side. She saw very little downsides to such a proposal, as it was, she was a very busy vixen.
The leader of the fox-like people cleared her throat, clasping her paws together as she addressed the council. "Hmm, yes I do see the benefits of accepting their offer. Inform them of my decision regarding the matter, and send for her at once. When she arrives I wish for her to be escorted to my palace. My attendants will be sure to make her more than comfortable." She said decidedly, making sure to keep her voice level. "I expect to hear that she has been treated with the utmost respect. I do not take kindly to any discrimination in my palace, especially if she is to become mine. Those who disobey will be punished harshly, and I will see to it that punishment is dealt. Spread the word, the Princess of the Fairclaws will be a welcome guest to my kingdom." She added sharply, clasping her paws together on the table.
"Very well, Lady Krystal, it shall be done at once. I believe this may be the beginning of wondrous future relations with the other tribes of Cerinia. If things continue to go well, perhaps this event will spark change for the remaining tribes to further their efforts in seeking your approval." Harkon stated sharply, making a note on her paper.
"I wish to believe it to be the case, but only time will tell." Krystal hummed. "My people are still wary of the Sharpclaws, and rightfully so. Although the Fairclaws only share an ancestral heritage to one another, their nature as a carnivorous species does scare many Cerinians. It will be a delicate balance to ensure the peace is kept." She said lowly, eyes scanning her many chieftains.
"Indeed. Your thinking ahead is what will carry our people forward, Lady Krystal." Fachina hummed thoughtfully, offering a kindly smile to her beautiful Queen.
"With that matter settled, perhaps now is the best time to bring up the topic of your marital status? I know it is not the place of one such as m-myself, my Lady, but the people are curious. When will you take for yourself a husband?" Verla asked nervously.
"Ah yes, silly me. I am pleased to inform all on the council that I have taken a husband for myself. I do so apologize for not making a spectacle out of it, but it was unexpected and surprisingly sudden." Krystal flushed slightly in embarrassment, realizing her status had likely yet to be shared worldwide.
"W-What-?!"
"My word! Is this true?!"
"Praise the heavens, the day has finally arrived!"
"Dear me, you are telling the truth? This is a monumental day!"
"My Lady, we must set up a grand celebration at once! The people will be overjoyed at this news! Tell us, from where does this mysterious fox originate?" The outbursts of surprise was shared across the council, with one in particular rising up to begin demanding a celebration.
"Oh Fachina, I would be delighted for a celebration. As for my husband… Well… My dearest Darling Fox comes from the stars above." She waved off the flattering words, smiling brightly at the image of him in her head.
"Y-You don't say…? Are you implying that our great hero has returned from the heavens?" Harkon nearly choked out in surprise.
"Indeed he has. I have wasted no time in completing the mating ceremony, securing him as mine for all time. He has… He has been banished from his worlds, turned on by those he had sworn to protect. So he has sought our people out, seeking a place to call home…" She recalled with a smile, her expression faltering slightly when mentioning the events that had brought him to her. "He calls the palace his home now." She decided to add after a moment.
"Great heavens! To think he has finally returned to us, and that you have secured him as your. I dare say, your speed at which you accomplish your goals is admirable indeed, my fair Lady." Another council vixen exclaimed in deep surprise.
Krystal smiled, more than glad that the surprise council meeting had gone so well. She had been a bit worried that someone was going to declare war again, so color her surprised when she learned of the enticing offer the Fairclaws were more then willing to make all for the sake of peace.
If the rest of the meeting carried on in such a manner, her day may not become as dragged down as she thought it would.
"Now then, onto other matters. My Lady, I have received the newest list for those wishing to serve as your direct attendants. All those on said list have been tested for their supreme loyalty towards you, and are awaiting your final approval." Verla explained lightly, bringing forth a list.
Krystal took hold of the paper, eyes widening when she lost count of the number of names.
Perhaps today was going to be longer then she thought…
She sighed.
"I shall prepare a meeting at my palace in one week. Make sure they are ready then, Verla." The Queen said decidedly.
"Of course, my Lady."
The door to the council chambers shut behind her, drowning out the silence of the chieftains behind sound proof doors. After a consensus had been reached regarding all important matters, the meeting had devolved into resolving minor issues.
Seeing that her direct input was no longer necessary, she decided to leave the small decisions up to her two most trusted chieftains, and make her leave. If anything were to come up, she would learn of it soon enough. As she was now, she was more than eager to return to her beautiful red furred husband's side, for she had been without him for too long.
That was why she was perplexed when she left the room only to find that he was not there. Turning down the hall, she spotted the Arwing, still in walker form. "Ah, there you are Darling." She cooed to herself, running to meet him. When she reached the ship, jumping through the air as she landed on the nose of the vessel, her previous confusion returned when she realized that he was not inside.
"Oh… Now where have you gone my dear husband? Making track you down was not a game I realized I was interested in playing." She hummed to herself, peering inside.
She nearly jumped out of her skin when two digital green orbs appeared overlaid across the cockpit window, acting as eyes. Before she could question it, the cockpit opened and scooped her up, locking her in the control seat. "Target acquired." An unnatural voice echoed from all around her, the green 'eyes' vibrating as it spoke.
Krystal's mouth fell open in shock as the vehicle spoke to her. Before she could even get a word in edgewise, it began walking down the halls of her council room on its own, carrying her towards the world outside.
It was one thing to have Fox controlling it, it was something entirely different when it began moving as if it had a mind of its own.
She'd asked him before if it was alive, but he had effectively dodged the question by saying no, and that it would be hard to explain. But she felt her doubts rising as it quite literally walked her through her city by its own accord, no pilot to control her.
"I knew something was special about you…" Krystal hummed to herself, recalling the first time she'd interacted with the cold metallic vessel. She'd felt a presence within it, a mind just like every living creature on her world possessed.
Fox had explicitly stated that it was merely a machine, a vessel, something that was built not born. And, while that may be the case, even though she did not quite understand it, she could still sense its mind.
Fox had called it a central computer, whatever that was. Perhaps it was the mind of the vessel?
It was all so confusing, she'd have to ask him to clarify later.
That being said, she'd quickly been delivered to her husband. The Arwing had carried her across the town, leading her down the large brick roads, careful to not get in the way of the many land dragons that hauled wagons also occupying the streets. Citizens all stopped to stare at her, awed at the sight of the vessel.
Eventually, however, she was directed to a park, and she quickly caught sight of her husband by a fountain in the plaza. Her eyes had widened in surprise when she saw him surrounded on all sides by young Cerinians, the little foxes hanging off of his every word.
"W-W-Wait! Stop here!" She quickly sputtered out, the Arwing halting in its approach.
"Affirmative." The voice echoed, the cockpit opening.
Krystal quickly yet quietly snuck out of the ship, sneaking up to the plaza, ears perked up tall to listen in.
"A-And then what happened, M-McCloud sir?" A young green vixen asked curiously, eyes glued to his own.
Fox laughed, pawing the back of his head bashfully. "The Sharpclaws had made their way to the palace, Lady Krystal was surrounded on all side. It wasn't looking good for her or her people." He narrated sagely, getting oohs and awes from the crowd.
"What's going to happen to her? Is she going t-to be okay?" A particularly small vixen asked in worry, practically bouncing on her hind paws, eyes wide as saucers. She was far shorter than her friends, so she could barely see him above them.
He smiled lightly in amusement, before he lifted the little vixen up with his paws underneath her shoulders, setting her on his leg. She squealed in delight at the attention, holding her breath as he grinned down at her. Her friends all stared on in jealousy, sad she was getting all the attention. But a lesson would soon be learned, in that the youngest got more attention than the older.
"Well, how did it end, you ask?" He inquired sagely, raising an eyebrow.
She nodded frantically, little paws pumping in excitement.
"Heh, well it goes like this. When those nasty Sharpclaws had battled their way up through the city and to the palace doors, they demanded that the Queen give herself up if they wanted to stop all the fighting. But you know Lady Krystal, she's no quitter." He added in amusement.
"Yeah! Our Queen would never lose!" A rowdy vixen shouted from the back of the crowd, a sentiment shared by others.
"Indeed. So, when push came to shove, she decided to bring in a hero." He carried on.
"A-A hero?" The little vixen asked quietly, holding her breath.
"Yes! A hero from above! Using her mighty magical powers, she summoned a hero from the stars above, commanding him with her mighty iron will!" Fox declared dramatically, waving a paw skyward.
The young Cerinians oohed in awe, looking up to the star filled blue skies above them.
"This hero came soaring down in his mighty beast of metal, and repelled the vile Sharpclaws from your beautiful Queen. With him under her command, they were able to bring an end to the war and stop the fighting. The day was saved, and the people all looked to the heavens as the great hero took his leave, promising to one day return." Fox concluded his story, holding his paw to his chest dramatically.
"O-Oh! What happened next?" Someone exclaimed.
"Yes! Where did he go? Will he ever return?" Another little fox asked curiously.
At that point Krystal decided to step in, catching her husband completely off guard as she forced him to stumble up an answer. With a coy smirk on her lips, she snuck up behind him, wrapping her arms around him as she pressed her breasts into his exposed backside. "Yes Dear, where did this great hero go? The younglings want to know, you wouldn't depart without finishing your story, would you?" She cooed in his ear, taking immense delight in how he shivered.
"I-I-It's Lady Krystal!"
Suddenly the attention was all on her as the children surrounded her, rambling on with their endless sea of questions. She answered them all as best she could, handling the children with ease as if she'd been their mother.
Fox stared on in awe as she watched over them all completely effortlessly.
''She'd be a really great mother…'' The thought was there before he could stop it, coming up from the depths of his heart.
As if she could hear his thoughts, she tossed a coy smirk his way, their eyes locking for a brief moment. His eyes snapped open in surprise, before a nervous laugh burst free from his lips.
Eventually, however, the children had to leave, returning to their real mothers. It was slow at first, but after a short while, all had gone home save for the youngest there, her mismatched black and white fur making her stand out. Fox bent down in front of her, smiling as she went to hug him.
"P-Promise me you won't leave again, mister hero…" She sniffled, grasping him tightly. He blinked in surprise before his expression softened.
"Of course, little lady. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." He soothed, gently wrapping his arms around her frame.
Eventually though, even she had to leave, running away as fast as her little legs could carry her as her mother came round looking for her.
Fox and Krystal watched her go, smiling as she waddled her way back to her mother. The red furred vulpine sighed once they were alone again, exhausted from having to entertain an entire crowd of children.
For a brief moment he seemed to forget that he wasn't alone, a laps in his judgment that a certain vixen used to her advantage. Fox squeaked in surprise when he felt her delicate blue digits snaking down his belly, stopping just at the line of his loincloth, while the other came snuck lower to rub his inner thighs. "My goodness Darling, you seemed to have left out the fact that you are terrific with children. Is there anything else you may be hiding from me? Any more skills you would care to share?" She cooed lowly, nibbling at the side of his neck as her claws teased the edge of his loincloth.
He bit his lips hard enough to draw blood as he tried to pretend how her heavy teasing wasn't seriously revving him up. He swore she did this just to mess with him…
"H-How'd the council meeting go?" He asked, voice hitching in his throat.
She smiled coyly at him, her paws snaking up his chest until she simply wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "It went well enough Darling." She hummed lightly. "I've received an enticing offer for friendly relations with the Fairclaw tribe. They wish to gain access to our society, and have offered their Princess to me as a sign of good faith. Naturally, I accepted such a wondrous gift. Now you will have someone to take care of you while I rule my world. After all, one wife simply is not enough for my dear husband, I want him to have more than enough to keep his happy and cared for. As your wife, I would expect nothing less then the best for you." She explained as if it was the natural course of life, holding him tightly to her chest.
"Oh, that's nice…" He hummed, gaze getting lost in the horizon…
…
…
…
…
…
"W-Wait what…?" And then his brain finally managed to catch up to the words she'd hummed in his ears.
"Oh yes Darling, soon enough I shall have you surrounded by choice women of any species you desire. I believe the Princess of the Fairclaws will be a wondrous first start. From there we can peruse the Smoothfur tribe to the east. They have been eager to enter into relations with my society for some tim-"
While she rambled on about her plans for the future, Fox couldn't help but realize that he had gotten in way, way over his head. And worse still, he saw no way out of his situation without egregiously going back on his word.
At the very least, he was determined to do more research before he gave out his word from here on out. Otherwise he might just find himself in way more heat in the future…
"Come now Darling, we must return to the palace. They have already sent word for the Princess, we must tell the attendants to prepare for her arrival." Krystal hummed, pulling him along.
"Y-Yes Ma'am…" He sighed, resigning himself to his fate.
Out here, outside the borders of the Lylat system, it seemed as if whoever ran a planet made the laws. As it stands, it seemed as if the Cerinians as a people were all about carnal desires and had absolutely no shame in flaunting it either, if Krystal's open teasing of him in a relatively public place was anything to go by.
He was only hoping that he could break her down over time, m-maybe relax a bit on the whole wild about intimacy thing?
He wasn't, however, holding his breath on that...
He was the one that had been married to a sex fiend...

End Note
So, I suppose this will be a bit of a spoiler for some events for future chapters, but I guess that's fine.
For a bit of an explanation, Fox is from a quote unquote civilized space, where the species that all live there live lives similar to our own. However, Krystal's planet and her people are so far out from the Lylat system that their society is completely different from anything that's considered normal for a Lylat citizen. They live in a hierarchy, where females are above males in societal status and political status. More then that, their species has little to no shame in admitting what they want, when they want it.
So the conflict comes from Fox who originated from a civilized society, and found himself married into one where not only does the wife get say on all matters, but she is more then willing to share him with others, and he is extremely conflicted about it yet is unsure how to bring the issue up because he doesn't wish to push her away or spit on her tribes ways. So he's stuck in limbo for the time being.
In his head, he views himself being with other women as being unfaithful to his wife, while on her planet, marriage is viewed entirely different from the social norm in the Lylat system.
That's all.
PS, but the inspiration for the Fairclaw tribe comes from the Viper species from the series XCOM.
