Chapter 26
While we're back at the PWT, we find the passage known as the Relic Tunnel. It actually links from this place to Castelia Sewers. When we're there, we capture a Drilbur in the Dust Clouds and we try to evolve it into an Excadrill after some training.
Drilbur: The Mole Pokemon: Ground Type. It can dig through the ground at a speed of 30 mph. It could give a car running aboveground a good race.
Excadrill: The Subterrene Pokemon: Ground and Steel Type. Evolve from Drilbur at LV:31. More than 300 feet below the surface, they build mazelike nests. Their activity can be destructive to subway tunnels.
After walking through, we arrive at the bottom part of the Relic Castle. Cilan says, "So it seems that the top part and the bottom part have been separated from the sand, and I guess this is now the way we go to the bottom floor..."
"If I remember, one of the Seven Sages in the past mentioned that there is a Volcarona living underneath the Relic Passage..." I say.
"Volcarona? Do you think that really exists?" Iris asks.
When we arrive at the room, we find no sign of Volcarona. Golly says, "I wonder if Volcarona really exists..."
"There might not be, considering some trainers must have come here to capture it. But look what I found!" Alice says as we notice a Larvesta.
"A Larvesta... and judging by its appearance, I think it was hatched not long ago." I say.
When we learn that this Larvesta has nobody by its side, we decide to help him by capturing the Pokemon.
Larvesta: The Torch Pokemon: Bug and Fire Type. This Pokémon was believed to have been born from the sun. When it evolves, its entire body is engulfed in flames.
When we arrive at Route 6 after flying back to Driftveil City, we find Cheren in front of the Weather Institute. "Oh, guys. Can you come with me for a moment?"
"Sure?" After we enter the Weather Institute, he says, "No one really talks about it, but the record shows that there was a sudden drop in temperature near Lacunosa Town. It was only for a moment, but it went down as low as -58° F. Not only that but similar temperatures were recorded around Castelia City and Driftveil City."
"Low temperatures... I hate low temperatures..." Iris shivers.
Eve says, "It is a good thing that we were born in an area that snows all the time, isn't it?"
Cheren says, :On top of that, that incident with Team Plasma! I think this needs some investigation before things go bad. I hate cold weather, though. I'll give you this."
Golly takes the HM for Surf, which is quite useful. "With this, please go to different places and check what's going on. Let one of your Pokémon learn Surf, and you can travel across the water."
And before we leave, we find a scientist who finds a rare Deerling and he wants us to raise it. So we decide to take the Deerling, and much to our surprise, the reason why it's rare is because it can change its form on his own free will.
Deerling: The Season Pokemon: Normal and Grass Type. The color and scent of their fur changes to match the mountain grass. When they sense hostility, they hide in the grass.
"That Deerling sure is unusual if you ask me..." Cilan says.
"Yeah, I wonder how it can change its form on its free will..." I say. And while we do some training, we evolve it into a Sawsbuck, which can also change the form on its free will as well.
Sawsbuck: The Season Pokemon: Normal and Grass Type. Evolve from Deerling at LV:34. The plants growing on its horns change according to the season. The leaders of the herd possess magnificent horns.
As we continue, Alice and I manage to capture a Karrablast and a Shelmet respectively. But when we try to train them, Shelmet is a little scared while Karrablast is a little rash.
Karrablast: The Clamping Pokemon: Bug Type. These mysterious Pokémon evolve when they receive electrical stimulation while they are in the same place as Shelmet.
Shelmet: The Snail Pokemon: Bug Type. It evolves when bathed in an electric-like energy along with Karrablast. The reason is still unknown.
We also find some Foognus who try to pretend themselves as Pokeballs, but we manage to capture one as well.
Foongus: The Mushroom Pokemon: Grass and Poison Type. For some reason, this Pokémon resembles a Poké Ball. They release poison spores to repel those who try to catch them.
And at the nearby water, Alice and I also capture two different Basculin with different stripes. She got blue while I got red.
Basculin: The Hostile Pokemon: Water Type. Red and blue Basculin usually do not get along, but sometimes members of one school mingle with the other's school.
And since we are given a Shiny Stone from a girl in the rest house, we use it to evolve Minccino into a Cinccino.
Cinccino: The Scarf Pokemon: Normal Type. Evolve from Minccino with Shiny Stone. Their white fur feels amazing to touch. Their fur repels dust and prevents static electricity from building up.
As we continue moving, we arrive at Mistralton Cave, but much to our surprise, a Cobalion appears near us. "It's you..." Then he runs away as well.
"What is going on?" Eve asks, "That's a Legendary Pokemon Cobalion..."
It is then Rood appears and he says, "That Pokémon…?"
"I think that's the Legendary Pokemon Cobalion." I say.
"Oh, Cobalion! What a noble presence!"
Alice says, "I hear that the three Pokemon, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion fought against people to protect Pokemon from the war those people started... When people fight, there's no peace for Pokemon, either. The three legends learned that the deeds of humans could lead to dire consequences for their world."
Cilan asks, "But why did it show up in front of us now? Is it patrolling the Unova region to protect Pokemon because it fears for their safety after the commotion caused by Team Plasma two years ago? Or does it sense a new problem...?"
"Unforgivable… So the reach of Ghetsis's ambition and malice is growing ever wider and warping the lives of all it touches…" Rood sighs. "Did Cobalion appear in front of you merely by accident? Or to plead with you to solve a problem? Unlike Lord N, I don't have the ability to understand the minds of Pokémon. Therefore, I don't know what that Pokémon is thinking. But if you can befriend Cobalion, it will be a great asset to you on your journey."
When we enter the Mistralton Cave, Eve says, "This place sure is empty..."
I say, "Two years ago, Mistralton Cave was home to Cobalion, one of the Swords of Justice. But ever since Cobalion left, the cave has mostly been forgotten by people nearby."
But Iris is delighted to find a lot of Axew in the area, and even her own Axew become friends with them. And when we find a Fraxure who likes to battle, we decide to give him one and he then joins our team.
Axew: The Tusk Pokemon: Dragon Type. They mark their territory by leaving gashes in trees with their tusks. If a tusk breaks, a new one grows in quickly.
Fraxure: The Axe Jaw Pokemon: Dragon Type. Evolve from Axew at LV:38. Since a broken tusk will not grow back, they diligently sharpen their tusks on river rocks after they've been fighting.
And after we get outside, Yancy calls again. We decide to chat about the music first. ""I love music. I listen to pop often, I think. Listening to music makes you smile, doesn't it?"
"It sure is." I say.
"I may not look it, but I'm pretty good at singing and that stuff. I'd like you to listen to me sing when we have the opportunity, if you don't mind. That reminds me, have you participated in the Pokémon Musical?"
"You mean the one in Nimbasa? We did have Pikachu on the stage." I say.
"I've been wanting to play Dress Up with my Pokémon. I'll make it cute and have it participate in a musical. When my Pokémon would receive fan letters, they'd help keep it motivated."
"I see. What do you normally do when you're free?" I ask.
"I usually go for a walk on my days off. Walking at my own pace, seeing different things alone is a good change of pace. I went to Nimbasa City for a walk that day and dropped my Phone. I can say my walking let us meet, Ash."
"Is that so." I say.
"I trade Pokémon often. My job requires me to go to various regions, so I trade with people there for memories. I'd love to trade Pokémon with you someday, you know!"
"Trading sounds fun, but to me, my Pokemon are precious to me." I say.
"Think I should get back to work now. Talk to you later, Ash. Bye!" After we are finished, we try to reach the Chargstone Cave. But Pikachu seems to be worn out. "Pikachu! You have to wake up!"
We find that it is a Joltik that is draining Pikachu's electricity. We try to have our Electric Pokemon help out, but all of them are also worn out. When we get to the Pokemon Center, Nurse Joy says, "Though it is quite odd to see Joltik staying around here..."
It is then our Rotom Phone rings, and Professor Juniper is the one who calls. "Professor Juniper?"
"Hi, Ash! Where are you now?"
"We're at a Pokemon Center close to Chargstone Cave, where are you then?" I ask.
"I'm inside Chargstone Cave." Then she tries to show us the area. I know Chargstone Cave of course. She has set up a base camp, but suddenly, we lose communication and we find a lot of Galvantula outside.
"So what is going on with the Joltik and Galvantula?" Alice asks.
Eve says, "Maybe what's happening is no coincidence... I wonder if Team Rocket is behind all of this again."
"Great... but there are only 15 times left before they're dead." I say in a dark tone. "They seldom appear in front of us these days..."
"But I wonder why Professor Juniper wants to find us..." Golly says.
"We'll know once we find them." I say as we try to reach Professor Juniper. We run into a few more Galvantula, and they manage to steal our Emolga and Pikachu. Alice and I try to chase after them, but we end up sliding down a cliff.
"Now we just lost them... what should we do?" Alice asks.
"What if we use a non Electric Type Pokemon who can use Electric moves?" I ask while firing the Thunderbolt into the air, and that's when Galvantula arrives and tries to take us away. When we find Pikachu and Emolga, they're trying to restore the electricity of the Joltik. I also decide to help by using Thunderbolt, and there is one Joltik who really likes me doing that and thus we capture it.
Joltik: The Attaching Pokemon: Bug and Electric Type. They attach themselves to large-bodied Pokémon and absorb static electricity, which they store in an electric pouch.
Just then, some Galvantula and Joltik notice something happening at the Chargstone Cave, so we follow them and find that Golly and the others meet up with Professor Juniper and they're battling Team Rocket.
"So it's Team Rocket again..." I growl.
All the Joltik and Galvantula us Thunderbolt on Team Rocket plus their machine which charges up the rocks and sends the machine into the air and back down to the ground.
"There's a ton of them..." Alice says.
"Team Rocket must have chased away the Galvantula and Joltik so they can get them all." Cilan says.
"They should enjoy the rest of their lives for now because they're about to be dead..." Golly says.
Team Rocket tries to attack us with Woobat using Gust and Yamask using Night Shade. Woobat's attack hit Excadrill and Dwebble and Yamask's attack hit Pikachu and Emolga. By their Trainers' orders, they used Thunderbolt and Swift on Yamask. Woobat continues to use Gust.
Dwebble is battling and struggles, and Dwebble begins to evolve much to Cilan's delight. Crustle intercepted Woobat's Air Slash with its newly learned Rock Wrecker. Crustle's Rock Wrecker, Pikachu's Electro Ball, Woobat's Air Slash, and Yamask's Shadow Ball attacks collide, which causes an explosion. Team Rocket gets away in a flying machine with all of the rocks they need.
"They still get away..." Eve mutters.
We head back to the Chargestone Cave. Galvantula and Joltik restore the rocks back to where they belong.
Here is a new chapter, and in this chapter, you can see that Route 6 is also complete as well as the Relic Castle. I hope you like it and the next chapter will be the Chargstone Cave.
