This is not an actual fic! This is a dumping ground for my fic ideas in case someone is in need of inspiration. I picked these two fandoms for the crossover because they'll be the ones showing up the most in this most likely, but there's actually a lot more fandoms inside. The first chapter has a better summary of everything. If you don't like these types of fics, don't click.

2. Banished From The Hero's Party

Banished From The Hero's Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside

This idea is set after the events in the anime, although honestly could be somewhere in the middle if you'd rather.

An illness has struck the town of Zoltan, causing many to fall ill. Red is the only one who recognizes the illness and how to cure it. However, to do so he must travel to a place a few days away to find a very specific herb. Red is the only one who knows where this herb is, as it is extremely rare and hard to find.

However, just before the party is supposed to leave, Red starts showing symptoms of the illness himself. He pushes through and tries to hide it, because he HAS to be a part of the party to find the herb, but about halfway there he collapses. He was pushing himself too hard and made the illness worse.

Rit, Gonz, and the others panic. None of them expected this and they don't know what to do. They set up camp that night and take care of Red in the meantime, trying to ease his symptoms. It's nearing nightfall when Red wakes up and tells them they need to keep going. His friends protest at first, but Red tells them that he's the only person who knows exactly what herb they need and where to find it. They have no choice but to continue their journey.

Along the way, I was thinking they could be attacked by monsters at some point. Rit can take care of them easily though. Then another challenge comes when it starts storming suddenly. They're close to where they need to be, but in order to not let Red get any worse, the group waits out the storm in a cave they find.

Cue sappy moment between Red and Rit while he's delirious with a fever. Maybe he's saying how much he loves her and that he's going to marry her someday, but then of course he says not to tell Rit, who he was talking to the whole time. Gonz and the others tease her relentlessly after Red falls asleep shortly after.

By morning, the storm is over. They make the last of the journey quickly, as Red is still in bad shape. At this point, Gonz ends up carrying him because they don't want him to walk on his own. Red directs them to where the herbs are (his fever having lowered some during the night. He's more lucid now) and talks the group through how to prepare the medicine.

They go back to the cave they found and camp there for another night in order to let Red rest. It's obvious he's much better in the morning. No more fever and looking a lot better, although still slightly sick. By the time they return to Zoltan, Red is almost fully recovered. However at Rit's insistence, he takes another day to rest.

The story could end here, or end with some lighthearted teasing from Rit about what Red said when he was delirious. Or you could continue the story with whatever you want. This is simply the end of what my idea was.

In my mind, the party consists of Red, Rit, Gonz, and maybe a couple others. I don't particularly think Ruti is necessary for this fic, but you can include her if you want to. My plan was to have her be on an adventure before anyone fell ill in the first place.

I am a simp for fics where my favorite character has to rely on those around them due to sickness or injury. I absolutely LOVE those types of fics. You guys will probably see that type of storyline on here a few times. At least.
