"Wait, you're blaming me?" Kagome's eyes went wide, turning back to look at him.
Sesshomaru pointed at the boy,
"It's not like I could force you!" She snapped,
Then, a horrible thought entered both their minds, and they both looked at the boy; he seemed to understand. "No one forced anyone, I am the oldest of three,"
Not that Sesshomaru was that kind of guy, but with Naraku and tricks, there was no telling.
"Please, Father, you trusted me with this; please believe me,"
Oh, there was no doubt about him being his son, or hers.
"Tell me, why did I not mate with her in your time?"
The boy shrugged. "I do not know the answer to that; up until mothers weakness, it was not a topic; mothers illness was sudden, and we had no time to talk; you sent me here right away,"
"But wait, nothing I have ever done here has made a change in my future," Kagome pointed out,
Her son looked at her. "You do not know that,"
She tilted her head,
"You never return to your future,"
This info sent tingles down everyone's spine,
"Can't or dont?"
"I can not say mother,"
He comes closer to her. "Who knows what will happen when I return? I may return to nothing changed, or I will return to everything changed, and the only person who will know is me, or I could simply vanish, no longer to exist." His eyes dart to his father for a second.
Kagome lips part,
"I am running out of time,"
"Speaking of how did you travel here?" Miroku asked,
"Now that I can tell you,"
He pulled out a sword, smaller, but strong. Sesshomaru knew right away it was one of his fangs; oddly enough, he was running his tongue across it at the very moment.
This sword was odd; there was demonic power but also holy power.
"Demonic and holy power?" Miroku whispered,
"I am not the strongest half-demon, but I am smart, and I can control both demonic and holy power,"
That was quite interesting, and though the boy didn't seem to know it, it actually did make him very powerful.
"I hope it is enough, Father,"
"But how does it control time?" Inuyasha asked, hating every second of this.
"Mother,"
Kagome looks at him, unable to speak. "You do not have to make a wish,"
"I dont?"
"No, you can purify the jewel and put it back, making it one with you,"
"What will this do?" Sesshomaru asked,
"It will seal it so that no demon can detect it, but it will also grant her immortality,"
Sesshomaru and Kagome look at each other.
"This sword, is a gift from you both as your firstborn," He backs up and spins the sword in the air; it opens a portal, not to an empty space but to time itself.
It was very impressive.
"It is dangerous, and not easily wielded, and alas, I must go now,"
Kagome walked up to him,
"Um, if you dont mind?" He points to his ear, and Kagome smiles and reaches up and scratches with a smile on her face.
Inuyasha looks away as the boy smiles back, showing off a small fang.
When she is done, she steps back. Their son then bows his head to his father, and Sesshomaru, acknowledging him, bows his head back. This makes the kid very happy,
He can go now. He steps through, and then, in an instant, he is gone.
Kagome places a hand on her heart; it hurts suddenly. She is instantly sad and a bit lonely; it was like having part of your soul gone suddenly, and she knew what that felt like, though this was much different.
Kagome looked down; she didn't dare move her eyes to him; what could she say?
"Kagome, you ok?" Sango asked,
Kagome looked up and smiled, "Sure, we should get going,"
It wasn't like he was going to say or do anything, right? As Inuyasha said many times, he was not there to sweep her off her feet.
Inuyasha had no issues with this and took the lead.
No one bothered to look back; no one expected him to say anything more, and he didn't. He just watched her go as he ran his tongue across his fang again.
