A light gray-and-white tabby stood in the moonlight, his ears flicking, listening for anything- or someone. Where is she? The light gray tom thought, annoyed. The bushes rustled, making him turn towards them. "Finally." He meowed, his tone full of annoyance. "Sorry, Bramblestar was busy lecturing me again." A she-cat meowed, dragging herself out to reveal a dark brown she-cat with barely visible stripes. "That's ok, Briarlight, I should've known." The tom meowed to the she-cat, his tone now gentle. The she-cat named Briarlight nodded, her sky-blue eyes gentle. Briarlight dragged herself over to the tom until she stood next to him. Briarlight looked up at him, her expression blank. "Jayfeather...how are we going to tell them about...y'know." Briarlight meowed to the gray tom named Jayfeather. "I don't know." Jayfeather replied after what felt moons. A strong wing blew, causing the 2 cats to shiver. "Let's find a place to stay for the night, it's getting late. Besides, I can tell you don't want to see Bramblestar right now." Jayfeather mewed, a growl rising in his throat when he mentioned Bramblestar. Briarlight nodded. Together, the cats found a hole in a tree big enough for cats. Jayfeather found moss, while Briarlight found feathers- specifically Jay feathers. Once the nests were made, Briarlight laid down next to Jayfeather, her back legs spiraled out behind her. Jayfeather waited Briarlight to fall asleep before licking her ear. "I love you, Briarlight..." Jayfeather murmured, laying his head on Briarlight's front left leg, falling asleep instantly. Jayfeather awoke, looking around, confused. Wait- I can see! Jayfeather thought, blinking. He turned to see Half Moon standing a few tail-lengths away. "Half Moon!" Jayfeather mewed, blinking in surprise. Half Moon padded towards him, her dark emerald green eyes full of love. "Hello, Jay's Wing." Half Moon meowed, looking up at him. "I have a message for you." Half Moon meowed before he could say anything, her tone serious. "Darkness will fall if the Leafcrow, Jaylight, and Alderneedle don't happen." Half Moon meowed, her tone serious. Before Jayfeather could speak, the image changed to him, Briarlight, Alderpaw, and Leafpool fighting. Then, he saw them fighting, blood spilling everywhere. "Wait! What does it mean?!" Jayfeather yelled, confused, his pale jay-blue eyes wide. Darkness will fall if the Leafcrow, Jaylight, and Alderneedle don't happen. Half moon's words repeating in his head. Before he could say anything, he awoke, breathing heavily. "What does it mean?" Jayfeather mumbled as he rested his head back on Briarlight's front left leg, the prophecy repeating in his head as he fell asleep.
