The whole show must have been something horrific, even more so after what had happened in the last few hours. Even so, InuYasha was observing the creatures escorting them, along a path cutting through the forest, as beings of enigmatic origin. They were all bodies, and at the same time, trees whose arms and branches were extended towards them, never really close enough to touch. Kagome's hand felt cold in his, while her gaze remained fixed on the faces that, it seemed, had once been human.
"Are you alright?" InuYasha sought to know. His partner looked at him, and an instant had to pass before she reacted and nodded.
InuYasha cursed the moment they touched that bowl.
