Two days.. two whole days. That's how long it's been since their last encounter. He hasn't stalked her since then and she hasn't approached him since then. He was going crazy, letting his thoughts overwhelm him. The urge to go to her house and see what she's doing was slowly becoming stronger and stronger. He had only gotten a taste of her and now, he was fucking addicted and starving for more.
It bothered him alot that she had distanced herself yet again. He remembered what he overheard that night. About how she told her ex that she would 'think things over'. Worry filled him, as he thought she had decided to give him another chance. The mere thought of that made him want to throw up. In the most literal sense ever. He had valiantly admitted to himself that he would wait for her, and while he planned to stay true to his word, it was rather burdensome.
His sixteen year old self would have never thought he would be busy pining after a woman let alone that woman being Sakura.
Perhaps, at the end of the day it was his propensity to fight for what he wants. He spent eight years pining after revenge while hatred consumed him. His new, redeemed self was pining after the woman of his dreams while being consumed by love. How poetic was that?
Well, whether it was poetic or obscure, only the outcome of it would tell.
He rubbed his temple as he tried to look for a loophole of how to approach her without breaking his word to himself.
His headache was worsening. He could feel the veins pounding in his temple as he rubbed it, trying to soothe it.
Then, it hit him. Bingo.
He could go to her house with his headache as an excuse and ask her to heal him. If he remembered correctly, she was on leave so she wasn't in the hospital.
He quickly got up to put on his coat and left to go to Sakura's house.
—
His heart thumped aggressively in his chest as he knocked on her door. He heard her feather-light footsteps before she opened the door.
She startled at first when she saw him but then smiled. "Sasuke, come in", She said, moving away from the pathway. He passed through the door and she shut it behind them.
She gestured with her hand for him to take a seat on her couch. She sat down beside him.
"What brings you by?" She asked, unconsciously tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. A dark pink bruise that tainted her neck instantly caught his eye. He raised his brow curiously, wondering what it was. She caught his suspicious expression and followed his gaze to the bruise and immediately became alert as she covered it with her hair. That just added to his suspicion. He voiced it out. "What is that?", He asked, pointing at it.
She sighed, "Don't worry 'bout it", She said, gesturing with her hand. His brows furrowed but he let it go. For now.
"So, What brings you by?" She asked him again.
"I have a terrible headache" He began, "I tried taking some painkillers but it still won't go" He lied, "Can you heal me?" He finally asked.
She smiled, "Of course, Sasuke" She said.
She told him to sit straight with his head tilted backwards, resting on the surface of the couch. She then grabbed a pillow and put it under his neck to make him more comfortable. After that, she got up and went to stand behind the couch. Her index and middle fingers on both the hands glowed with a mild green chakra as she placed them gently on his temples. She furrowed her brows as she rubbed against the throbbing veins.
It felt good, too good. Her chakra was extremely warm and welcoming, feeling it on him, going into him was highly gratifying. He closed his eyes and sighed. His headache wasn't gone yet but he still felt better because of Sakura being there with him.
Soon, however, she stopped. He didn't know why but she stopped and once again he felt.. sick. He frowned as he tiled his head backwards to look at her, "What's the matter?" He asked.
She sighed as she walked to the front and took a seat beside him. "Your headache, It won't heal. It's like those veins in your head are fighting with me" She said with a light chuckle.
"I need you to answer a few things for me before i can try again, Can you do that for me?" She asked, her voice gentle and calming. He nodded at her. I'd do anything for you.
Her lips curved into a satisfied smile before returning to, what naruto liked to call, 'doc face'.
"Your headache feels like something between a migraine and a tension-type" She began, "Have you been sleeping enough?" She asked, concern in her eyes. He sighed, and shook his head, "No, i haven't" he whispered.
Her lips were pressed together as she frowned, "Why not? Is something bothering you?" She inquired now, alert.
Anxiety washed over him as he debated on what to tell her. There were two reasons why he hadn't been sleeping; His nightmares and late night shenanigans which involved the woman sitting in front of him. So, "Nightmares... I've been getting them every night, once i wake up i can't sleep again no matter how much i try" he resorted to the fragmentary truth.
"Also, after those nightmares my sharingan gets activated, it's beyond my control sometimes. It hurts my eyes alot" He added.
She had a look of pity in her eyes and he frowned, he didn't want her to pity him. She sighed as she got up and stood in front of him. He looked up at her, confused.
"Come with me, Sasuke" She said, reaching out to him with her hand. He obeyed and took her hand and followed her as she led them into what he presumed was her guest room. He looked at her all bewildered, rasing a brow, silently questioning her. She took a seat at the head of the bed. "Lie down on the bed for me?" She asked softly.
He gulped, this was not what he expected at all. He was unsure of whether or not to proceed with her order. She sighed, "Look, the only way for me to heal your headache is if you're relaxed, Now please, lie down so i can heal you" She said, patting on the bed.
He let out a conflicted sigh before nodding and doing what she asked him to.
What she did next left him dumbfounded. She gently cradled his head in her lap. He blushed at that action, swallowing nervously. "I think I'm gonna try a more therapeutic approach as the reason for your headaches are more psychological than somatic. It may sound banal but, i want you to think of your happiest memories and stay in there while I heal you. You need to be.. comfortable and in a safe space of your brain, or else, it won't work" She instructed, while gently stroking his hair away from his forehead.
He tried really hard to think of a happy memory but to his dismay, he couldn't think of anything and it just worsened his headache. It seemed that Sakura understood that it got worse so she interjected his thoughts, "Don't try so hard, it'll come to you. I'm gonna start calming your nervous system down now, i just need you to cooperate"
She repeated her actions from before and summoned chakra to her finger tips before placing them on his temple. It was working better this time as he was in a much more comfortable position. He tried to think of a good memory and then memories of his family and team 7 eased into his mind. Memories of him and itachi, of him and Naruto and mainly, or him and her.
He was subconsciously following her breathing pace, perfectly matching her rhythm. Soon, he felt as if he were losing his consciousness. He felt a sense of tranquil take over him as he slowly drifted off to sleep, her steady heartbeat, his only lullaby.
—
Sakura soon stopped healing him as she understood he was fast asleep. She took this opportunity to gaze at his face. He had shadows under his eyes but even with those, he still managed to look beautiful. She traced his soft skin as she thought about how exhausted he must be. It pained her to see him like this. To know that his past still haunts him. She wanted to help him in any way she could and she would.
Her trail of thoughts however, was soon interrupted by the door bell. She frowned, who could it be at this hour? She thought.
She sighed and gently lifted Sasuke's head from her lap and placed a pillow under it. He stirred slightly which worried her but to her relief, he didn't wake up.
She walked to the door and when she opened it, She felt a wave of panic wash over her as she saw who was standing there.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
