She didn't expect this. She didn't expect him to show up at her door after what happened last night. She felt restless right now, him being here while Sasuke was also here was really stressful. She didn't want him to witness this firsthand.
"Kenji, You need to leave" She spoke after a deafening silence, her voice stern.
He frowned for a second before letting out a sigh, "Look I'm sorry about yesterday" He began, "I was drunk and i wasn't thinking straight. We slept together the day before yesterday and you made it very clear that after that we would go our seperate ways after that, I should've respected that" He finished.
Her gaze softened at that, his apology meant alot to her for some reason. Perhaps it was because Kenji was a man of few words it was sort of uncharacteristic of him to talk this much. He was kind of like Sasuke, without the manic homicidal phase. She really had a thing for broody, quiet guys didn't she? She internally laughed at that thought.
She focused back on Kenji, "It's alright, i know you weren't yourself. But, we're truly over now and i hope you can understand that" She said with an apologetic look on her face.
He swallowed and nodded at her. They bid their final goodbyes with fake promises of being friends.
After he left, she sat on the couch thinking about everything. She really did like him once upon a time, but it was probably just a distraction from.. him. The very guy that's currently asleep in her guest room. All the guys in her life were merely a distraction from Sasuke. Well, all except Shikamaru, but that was a whole different story.
But now, Sasuke was back in her life. Back with intentions of staying. She tried to convince herself it would be different this time. That he wouldn't end up hurting her this time. Or worse, she wouldn't end up hurting him. She has been so.. bewildered lately, it's been giving her migraines. She needed some time to think about her and Sasuke, that's the reason she didn't contact him for the last two days. The night after her and Sasuke made out, Kenji showed up at her house, again. And she made a selfish move, She slept with him. To understand her own feelings.
The aftermath of it was filled with guilt and awkwardness. She felt as if she had cheated on Sasuke, though she knew she hadn't. But the advantage of it was that she understood her feelings better now. With the Kenji thing over, her mind was a little clear for the first time in awhile and she could think straight now. She felt a little bad for using Kenji like that but, he'll survive. It's not like they were in love or had a serious relationship.
Her first love was back and is returning her feelings, finally. While it gave her happiness, It was also nerve wracking. She wanted to believe it would be different this time, that they would be endgame. So why did she still feel that the butterflies in her stomach that she feels around him right now will turn into maggots, eating her alive from inside? She was in alot of emotional turmoil currently, and the secrets they're keeping from each other wasn't any helpful.
She went back to the guest room, he was still fast asleep. She smiled at his peaceful, relaxed form. Sasuke wasn't the kind of person to let his guard down, so to know he felt safe and comfortable in her environment and her presence, was an honour.
She went to the closet and took out a blanket and draped it over him, tucking him in. She then bent down and kissed him lightly, on the forehead before turning of the lamps and going to her room.
Both of them slept safe and sound that night. No nightmares plagued Sasuke's mind for the first time and no confusion plagued Sakura's mind.. For now.
—
The next morning she woke up before him. He'd been asleep for almost ten hours, it truly worried her. Him sleeping that long meant he hadn't slept well at all.
She knew it wasn't really his fault but she was also a bit upset with him. That boy never takes care of himself, she doubts if he even eats properly.
Then the thought hit her, he probably hasn't been eating properly. Especially considering he spent most of days following her. She decided to take a trip to the grocery store, she planned on making him lunch today. He'd probably be asleep for some more time but just to be safe, she wrote a note and left it on the nightstand besides him before taking off.
—
Sasuke woke up with a clear mind today. He felt fresh and.. content. He noticed Sakura wasn't in the house and got worried but then her note caught his eye.
'Gone to the grocery store, make yourself at home.
Don't leave, I'll be making lunch'
He smiled, she wanted him to stay. And she was going to cook for him, if he wasn't Sasuke Uchiha he would be giggling like a twelve year old girl right now, but he didn't sink that low and composed himself. He decided to wash up and make himself some coffee so he could be fresh when she gets back. It was really kind of her to let him sleep it off at her house yesterday. He made a mental note to do something to thank her. The sound of the door interrupted his thoughts and he turned around to see her struggle with the bags. He was next to her in an instant, to help her.
"Thanks", She said with a smile before they made their way to the the kitchen and set down the bags. "You should've woke me up and asked me to come with you" He said, a little disappointed.
She smiled, "But you looked so adorable while sleeping!" She said, trying to tease him. He frowned, trying hard not to blush.
"Anyway, I'm planning to make Onigiri with Okaka and tomato soup" She said heading to the kitchen cabinets. "It's your favorite isn't it? I mean, it was when you were a kid" She looked at him intently, waiting for an answer. But he was a little startled by the fact that she still remembered his favorites. But then again, she has been in love with him since she was a kid herself. It shouldn't come as such a surprise to him. It still filled him with contentment nonetheless.
"Yes, it is" He replied after a long pause, and this time he didn't try to hide his smile or how happy he was at her remembrance.
"I'll help you, it's the least i can do after last night" He offered.
She was hesitant for a second and looked like she was thinking something, "Well, normally i wouldn't let my guests engage in any work, but you're not a guest. You're family" She said, as if it was the most natural thing to her in the world. And then he realised, that it was natural to her.
During his revenge era, he knew her love for him was genuine but he refused to accept it and decided to gaslight himself into thinking that she's faking it. But now, with his mind completely clear and willing, he was finally experiencing her love, her warmth and her true nature. And God help him, he never wanted it to end. He couldn't help himself and the next thing he knew, his lips were on hers, his hand was on her waist while hers were wrapped around his neck, with her fingers tangled in his hair.
After a long passionate minute, they pulled away to catch their breaths and just stared into each others' eyes. The green of her eyes was something he held close to his heart. While being out on his travels and in the woods, he was surrounded by greenery all the time, it was impossible for his mind to not drift to her beautiful emerald eyes.
She bit her luscious bottom lip before speaking, "What was that for?" She asked, still breathless.
"Well you kissed me back, What was that for?" He countered with a smirk.
She smiled and let out a huff, "You're getting pretty good at this, aren't you?" She said, still looking at him. She closed off any distance that was there within them until their bodies were touching and leaned in near his ear, her breath hot against him, "I think your soldier just saluted to me, Sasuke" She said, pressing her abdomen against his erection. He let out a soft gasp at the friction and the way she breathed his name. She slowly pulled away, looking at him with a smirk that said, 'i won this round'. Because indeed she did.
She put some distance between them again and said, "Go take a cold shower, it'll help with.. that. I'll get started with the cooking" She walked back to the kitchen counter, leaving him hanging, literally. He decided to take her advice nonetheless, a cold shower is exactly what he needed cause of his noble oath to himself of not wanking and waiting for the real thing. He turned around to go to the bathroom but her voice stopped him, "There's extra towels in the cabinet outside the bathroom" She said and he nodded at her in acknowledgment before walking away.
When he got out of the shower, she was almost done with cooking and it smelled amazing. The entire room was filled with the aromas of her delicious foods, his stomach growled which made him realise he hadn't eaten since yesterday morning. He just knew that Sakura would probably punch him like she does with Naruto if she found out.
She served both of them just as soon as she was done and they ate together.

After lunch they sat down by the couch just talking and drinking wine together. The wine was making her hot so she decided to tie her hair up and he saw that bruise once again and knit his brows in confusion. "Sakura?" He called out and she nodded at him. He pointed at the bruise, "You never told me what happened to your neck.." He said, calmly but immediately felt nervous when he saw her expression change from happy to... guilty? He sat up straight as he stared at her, waiting for her to speak up.
After a long, long, moment of silence she finally sighed and spoke up, "It's a hickey" She said, not looking him in the eye.
A hickey. Of course. Why didn't it hit him earlier? He knew what hickies were and looked like, he just didn't expect Sakura to get one from someone, right after their moment together. And he knew for a fact that he didn't give her that in the park so it brought up only one question.
"Who?" He asked, his voice stern.
She swallowed before looking at him, "Kenji" Was all she said, it was all that was needed.
He felt a mixture of emotions stir up in him right now; Anger, Sadness, betrayal, sick and hurt.
Her answer only brought up more questions, When and how?
She seemed to sense the elephant in the room and answered his silent question, "I.. slept with him, two days ago"
And that was his breaking point.
Drama incoming, fasten your seat belts.
