As I said at the end of the last chapter, Lincoln, after traveling for three days, ends up in my hometown. Visalia in Central California. I've lived there ever since I was born. There might be a lot of things worth knowing that I will tell you about throughout the few chapters. I also have dozens of other ideas in mind, even though a number of them could be dramatic/serious. I hope to find out how to make them work.
Anyway, sometime between Lincoln's departure from Royal Woods and his arrival to Visalia, I discover Milo Cotuk's post showing Lincoln's letter. It causes me to have some kind of bombshell about certain cartoons existing in the live-action world, kind of in a similar way to "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", one of the only good movies to be directed by Robert Zemeckis. Imagine cartoons interacting in a live-action world with us and getting used to the mingling physics. I mean, heated cartoon metals dropped in live-action water. Imagine it creating live-action steam and not cartoon steam. Such special effects, if actually worked on, would have to be jointly done by Jam Filled Entertainment and Industrial Light & Magic.
Back to the topic at hand, it's not just the idea of cartoons existing that has my shock, but Lincoln's decision and his reasons for it described in the letter. I choose to go against it, knowing that by making such a decision, he is making the biggest mistake of his life. My wish is to make sure he has a reason to change his mind and to make sure he regains the knowledge of how important he is to the lives of his family and friends.
Sometime afterward, I, living with my mother and brother, discover Lincoln after three days and decide to take him in, promising him that he won't really be an interloper for us. He needs a roof to live under, and I'm probably one of the only people in Visalia that actually knows Lincoln more than the rest, but not as much as his friends/family back in the Rust Belt. If you're wondering what that is, it's this region of the U.S. spanning from New York State to the Midwest, known for its experience of industrial decline in the 1970s-80s.
As for why I'm taking Lincoln in, it might make sense when I discuss the activities I plan to do with him throughout California. And maybe other states as well. I could flesh out what Visalia has by taking Lincoln on a tour throughout the city. You can look up the city on YouTube as well as Google it, and see what it has to offer. It and Royal Woods might have their similarities, along with many other small towns that are incorporated. The following chapters after this will detail special adventures that I would take Lincoln on during his stay in Visalia, while still keeping my knowledge of his letter and my hopes for reunions with his compadres a secret, even though I'd have to tell him eventually. Secrets do not last forever. I'll see you guys in the coming chapters.
