Sometime after leaving Los Angeles, I take Lincoln with me to the Big Island in which we attend several cultural activities that are traditionally done in Hawai'i and tour the island where lava flows and volcanic activity are taking place, while still keeping our distance from the boiling hot lava. Sometime after the lava flows have halted, and the island has increased in size on a map, there is a lot of steam as a result of contact from the seawater. And kind of like something out of a horror film, I see some misty figures that look like some of Lincoln's sisters/friends thinking that they are some odd stone formations from the lava and try to find Lincoln to get him back with me to our hotel on the island. In secret, I look at the footage and discover that those "rock formations" were moving, proving they were actually the characters that had those shapes. I make a call with Cotuk.
Cotuk: Hello?
Me: Milo Cotuk, it's me.
Cotuk: Oh. Kaden. How are things with you and Lincoln?
Me: You tell me. I had to deal with Joy latching onto my fishing rod in Lake Kaweah, Luan and Benny trying to chase us on horseback near Bill Shatner's ranch, Stella, Sid, (Girl) Jordan and Ronnie Anne barging in on our dirt motorbiking in the desert, and some misty "rock formations" that just so happen to be familiars of Lincoln. I'm starting to get the impression that they're all starting to stalk us, becoming more of that and less of friends.
Cotuk: What? No. None of us are stalking. We're just trying to get Lincoln back.
Me: I know you are. I just don't want Lincoln knowing about my secret. I'll tell you later on. I need to get some sleep. Aloha.
I hang up the phone and go to sleep.
Later on, Lincoln and I would leave Hawai'i, and travel to San Francisco, where we visit several attractions like the Exploratorium, Pier 35, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Boudin's(which has a top floor that gives people a look at a steampunk machine that makes loaves), among other attractions.
Disturbing fact: my first time in San Francisco back in the early 2010s, it was pouring, but no lightning or thunder. My family and I were walking along Jefferson Street to find a place for me and others to use the toilet to... empty our bladders. Every place we looked, including the In-N-Out in SF, didn't have one. We DID manage to find a place with a men's room, and were able to "relieve ourselves". Maybe I could recreate that experience for Lincoln and me, but make it less disturbing than what actually happened that night.
I could find the two of us a hotel to say in while in SF, likely bring Lincoln with me to pay my uncle Ronald "Ronnie" Jackson visits. I might add in an event in which it is misty in San Francisco, and like in Hawai'i, silhouettes of Lincoln's friends/family appear, moving. Only this time, it's something that gives vibes relating to the horror genre. I take Lincoln with me to where the silhouettes, having noticed us, won't find us. Sorry if I'm creating redundancy, guys. I would talk to Milo again during the night, but like in Hawai'i, and I should've said that earlier, Lincoln would be too sound asleep to hear me, and I'd be somewhere else, though we'd eventually get back to Visalia.
Meanwhile, some sinister group is planning something and has brought in a new recruit. I'll flesh that out in the next chapter.
