Author's Note: This is a one shot set around chapter 5 of "Girl Meets Prequel: Kids in Love", "Unwell", and after "Girl Meets World (Season 8)".
September 21stth, 2010
10-year-old KC walked to the fridge while Anthony was gone. He hadn't let her have food that morning or 2 days before then, stating she deserved to starve for a few days because she tried to run away with Jaxon the other day. He had locked her room with a rope, but she was able to loosen it. She only had at most a few minutes before he got home, so she hurried to retrieve food before running to her room, tying it back and tightening it through a small crack in her door before closing it.
She had grabbed 5 slices of pizza along with a Dr. Pepper. She had moved around the soda to make it seem as though none were missing. She started eating, making sure not to eat too fast.
She heard the front door open and hid the last 2 pieces and the soda under her bed. She heard his footsteps move to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and heard it slam close a moment later. His footsteps walking toward her room. Scared, she removed the screen from her window, grabbed her food and drink and exited through her window. She stumbled and dropped her food and drink. She considered eating it off the ground but decided against it. She ran as fast as her malnourished body could, only to be captured by Anthony. He dragged her into the house and threw her to the ground. He grabbed her arms and folded them back until she screamed. He kneed her in the face. Her nose began bleeding, and the beating continued until she fell unconscious.
A couple of days later, she went to school wearing makeup, once again. Lucas could see it, as Jaxon had pointed it out before. The 9-year-old decided to ask her to go over to their house for the night. She agreed. She did her best to hide her soreness, but the Friars noticed. Rachel had her take a warm bath but didn't pry. She knew the little girl wouldn't tell the truth. KC walked out, wearing pajamas with damp hair, but with full face of makeup (foundation and concealer). Rachel worried for the girl but didn't want her to distance herself from them. She took her to school the next day. Anthony was waiting by the classroom. He grabbed the back of her neck aggressively. KC stopped, scared.
"You know what's coming," he told her.
Rachel urged her to go into the classroom. She broke his grasp and did what Rachel urged.
Rachel was approached by Anthony on her way out of the school.
"I know she was with you last night," he stated. She ignored him. He grabbed her arm and jaw. "I'm talking to you, Bitch."
At that moment, she punched him in the face. He dramatically fell to the ground as people walked outside.
"She attacked me!" He exclaimed. The few people scolded her, but she ignored them.
She leaned down to him and said to him, "You will not grab me like that." She looked at him with antipathy. "And I told you, I'd dish out what you do if I saw you lay your hand on her in front of me again. I hope you have a broken nose like she obviously does."
Inside the classroom, after class, KC's teacher stopped her at the door.
"Are you okay, Ms. Clutterbuckett?" She asked KC with concern.
"I'm always okay," she lied. "See you later, Ms. Peters."
KC walked out of the school and walked home, afraid of what was to come.

KC walked into Topanga's and started her shift, taking her place next to Farkle on the stage. She went up to her microphone.
"So, today is my 23rd birthday," she stated. Many people clapped. "Thanks," she responded gratefully. "It is also the 12th anniversary of the day I escaped my abusive father. I was 11. It took so long for me to open up to my boyfriend and his family. I think everyone does that with one thing or another, whether it be self-harm, damaged mental health, abuse, etc. So, today, we're starting out today's performance with Everyone's A Secret by Lo Spirit."
(Farkle, KC, Both)
Farkle started picking the guitar and singing.
Well, the story unfolds/ With how she was raised to do what she's told/ By a man who wrinkled her clothes/ And folded her arms back to beat out her soul
She had to love him 'cause the city loved him so/ Never told them what he did, just let it go/ Thought that he deserved the love he couldn't show/ But she was born to wear the bruises on her throat
Everyone's a secret, no-one lets you in/ They only show you pieces, never skeletons/ Seven billion rejects "asking for a friend"/ Embarrassed of their needs and what they think it means, yeah/ Everyone's a secret/ Everyone's a secret, everyone's a secret/ Everyone's a secret, everyone's a secret
It's hell, all the secrets he keeps/ Forced to live in a nightmare so his parents can sleep/ Wish him well/ 'Cause Mama framed him a lie/ Hung from the family tree so that the roots wouldn't die
He just wakes up every morning, takes two pale white pills/ Tries to numb the trauma, save the boy they killed/ Now he's a wallflower wishing until he wilts/ And he'll become the mausoleum to rest their guilt
We can't hide the truth, it's on our face/ Written in abuse we can't erase/ We can't hide the truth, it's on our face/ We can't hide the truth if we want change
Everyone's a secret, no-one lets you in/ They only show you pieces, never skeletons/ Seven billion rejects "asking for a friend"/ Embarrassed of their needs and what they think it means, yeah/ Everyone's a secret/ Everyone's a secret, everyone's a secret/ Everyone's a secret, everyone's a—/ I am a language that you don't speak
Farkle looked at his wife. She had a spaced-out look on her face. She was dissociating. He grabbed her hand and rubbed it, helping her reground. She had opened up to him about how she used to wear makeup starting at the age of 10 as they got closer before getting together, which is why she was able to cover the bruises inflicted by Derrick so efficiently. She now wore makeup once in while just to, not to cover anything up, because she was finally safe.
